Oops glad the drugs are doing their stuff. You are indeed very calm and reasonable about the holiday interference!

Sambo good work on your MP! Dates noted re London meet - where shall we go then? Somewhere green, any ideas? And is it actually legal for us to have a meet without Sazzles? Can we persuade anyone else to join us?

DH is making sarky comments so perhaps I should go to bed...

dizzydixies · 24/06/2009 22:32

Sazz is coming here don't be trying to lure her away

have just had some lovely news, after feeling a tad disheartened because a lot of people unable to come to christening, my aunt from Spain has just phoned to say she's coming over with my neice, DD1 will be beside herself - they're arriving on Sat and staying till Tues 7th

dizzydixies · 24/06/2009 22:57

Will send the pixies on when they've finished here VG.

On a random note, DD1 got trapped in a demonstration of DS's Irish-speaking skills yesterday and in a desperate bid to get someone to listen to her, claimed that she knew some Irish too.

The Irish word for lunch is apparently 'packed lunch'. That has been making me laugh all day.

Night all.

RedLentil · 24/06/2009 23:49

rofl at VG blanking Oops' PIL too.

Would you like some Aug08 headed paper?

lwfh · 24/06/2009 23:52

aaaah, thanks for all saying nice things. Baby group trip to an art gallery today. We made it as far as the cafe before they got grumpy and we took them home again. Back to the park on Friday, but it's a little bit chilly.

A nice bit of play before bed and in the bath so not a completely rubbish day. DS's favourite toys at the moment are hands puppets, which are lots of fun for both of us.

RL very good story about your DD.

lwfh · 24/06/2009 23:58

PS new baby fine, I got all worried and went to hospital on Sat at 7am where they very kindly listened to the heartbeat for me. Generally a bit embarrassed about being an irrationally worrying pregnant lady, but mostly being relieved really as otherwise I imagine that I would still be worrying. Routine appt. tomorrow (14+6 I think), leaving DS with ILs as not good to take him with me to the hosp with all this swine flu about.

RedLentil · 25/06/2009 00:07

Glad everything was fine LWFH.
You were right to set your mind at rest.

I think in some ways it is more worrying to be pregnant after you have a child because there is so much greater a sense of what is at stake if that makes sense.

Expectant · 25/06/2009 03:16

Sambo what a relief to find someone so perfect for you - you can happily enjoy your last few weeks of freedom now . My Grandma's MP also turned up trumps when we badgered campaigned for her to get drugs for her deteriorating eyesight that were available should she be living in a different postcode (or in Scotland). I think he's now a cabinet minister.

Dizzy thanks for the invite - you may regret it . However my prayers were answered, it rained pretty much all day off and on yesterday and when DS woke up this morning and I went into his room to get him the thermometer on his monitor said 19 degrees - even though the air con is on 18 all night I've never known it get that cold in there I was quite enjoying snuggling under the duvet and having a cuddle/feeding him before I got up without him becoming Mr Sweaty Head

Also good news on the air-con front the repairmen phoned me yesterday to tell me the Landlord had agreed to put in 2 new units to replace the warm air blowing ones.

VG thanks for the new job role - funny when I first told work in London that I was going to be coming to Singapore the job they tried to find me was to sort out some of the issues in the shared service centres in SE Asia. I'm a tax consultant by background but now working in the Trust industry.

CC that's very about your friend

LWFH glad everything ok with No2!

TwilightSurfer · 25/06/2009 03:22

Are those cleaning pixies done over there yet? I'm about to go to bed. I've left the door unlocked for them.

LWFH how cool you got to hear the heartbeat. So comforting. 14+1 WOW! How it flies (when you're not pregnant).

I watched a helicopter install a swimming pool this evening. Can we say SOMEBODY has money to burn!

Night Night

alittlebitshy · 25/06/2009 09:58

hello everyone.

lwfh g;ad all well with miniestlwfh.

vg I don;t have a clue what we're getting ds and his birthday is now less than a month away . there is nothing he needs as we haev all dd's baby crap toys. I did wonder about a water play table for the garden. .

oops. glad the trip has not gone to waste . Also pleased to hear that the drugs are kicking in!

cyteen · 25/06/2009 10:03

I'm trying to think of a nice way I can say to family "if you want to mark DS's first birthday in any significant way, please give him some money to put in his savings account that we haven't set up yet". I know their impulse will be to buy, buy, buy, because they love him and want to celebrate his first year, but we have so much stuff in the house that I'd rather get him something relatively small that he can have fun with and put some money aside for when he's older.

Am totally looking forward to having a little party though I know I will cry

Hi everybody! gosh, I haven't been on in a little while I know
I'm getting slack obviously. Unfortunately the battle of the laptop is fiercely contested, meaning that I spend all my time trying to keep little fingers off the laptop. I don't get much time to actually use the blasted thing. Anyhoo, I hope everyone is doing ok. I saw a whisper about a london meetup? Can I have details? I'd love to come along.
Can't believe first birthdays are approaching DOn't worry cyteen I'll be crying right along with you.
Had a good night last night. Seb had a good dinner of bolgnese, followed by a bath (was necessary in order to remove the coating of bolognese) and then was too tired to stay up any longer so went to bed at 7.30 This is unprecedented!!!! He slept through too. . BF is a nightmare now though, his latch is all wrong, so every feed is like a penance at the moment.
Wow, this has turned into a very ME post hasn't it? At least I've got something GOOD to report for a change.

alittlebitshy · 25/06/2009 13:17

ladies - I have just orderd a Moby for my friend who had a baby boy 2 weeks ago. do you think that's a good pressie? seeing as I have not dfiscussed it with her do you think she'll be or .???

pertelote · 25/06/2009 13:31

ALBS it's a great pressie! Coming as a present she'll either love it and use it constantly, or if she gets on with it best just for indoors/short trips or something she won't feel bad about having spent a lot - just pleased to have one more option. We often have NCT meet ups when people have small houses/flats which are 'slings and carseats only' so it's great to have the choice of walking if you want to.

I'm getting excited about the forthcoming birthday too! We thought we might get DD some musical toys, she doesn't really have any yet but enjoys the jingly bells/wood blocks at our nursery rhymes session... Maybe a xylophone?

Ann, Sazzles, ALBS, Miamla, Sambo - putting together date preferences so far I have come up with Tuesday 21st July for our London meet. What do you think?

Off out this pm and overnight at the ILs. See you tomorrow!

Steaknife · 25/06/2009 13:43

lo all.

I've been following along on my phone but it doesnt always let me post. I was loling at TS with her science telling us what we already knew about bacon butties.

And someone else made me laugh too wat with pixies, haars, hidying a nd guitars, tis all go around here.

Cyteen I think we are going to do something at our house for first birthday. I know French-inlaws will want to do something fancy but my baby, my house, my rules!
I really want a trip trapp as they look cool seem very practical and I hate cleaning our chicco chair. So I might suggest the GPs all give us something towards one as I cant see DH agree otherwise.

Not much to report - behavoiur pact going okay, though DH still mastering nighttime grumpiness, but otherwise tis quite pleasant chez steaky.

Iz had her 9m check. All good except her growth is slowing down. I pointed out that DH and I were skinny but dr pointed out her length growth had slowed too and says I have to give her 10g of protein a day and she has to be checked again in a couple of months. BAH just when I had got DH on board with BLW. So this discussion will test our politeness to each other.

Anyone any idea what 10g of protein looks like?

Steaknife · 25/06/2009 13:46

wothcha pert ooh a xylaphone what a good idea. I have some wrist bells for Iz and she loves them though they arent allowed out before breakfast

alittlebitshy · 25/06/2009 13:51

Re London meetup. I need to see if dh is around as it is school hols by then and dd is at a holiday club in the morning so will need collecting and looking after.....
