llare cote Can I have your autograph too, lol.

I remember that children at wedding thread. I posted something on it, clearly not a very interesting comment worth of the national press

SpangleMaker · 22/06/2009 11:41

Dandy I've bought this book which explains about growth/development spurts and why babies have fussy/apparently regressive phases. Not read it properly yet but seems to make some sense.

chocolatebunnies · 22/06/2009 11:44

Ah Belgian I feel for you! I have been there with Corey! He did exactly the same as your C, but with me sat there with poo all over my legs and feet (I was wearing shorts as well eugh!) as I tried to clean him up and manouver him onto another clean nappy the little bugger did it again! So I had two lots all over me, I had two friends over at the time and my DH was in the room aswell, they all found it somewhat hilarious! DH had to take over once he had contained himself and I had to waddle to the shower, I dont think I've ever scrubbed my legs so hard! Karma did come back and bite DH on the butt though when Corey did the same to him bu at 6am and DH didnt have a shirt on and it went all over his stomach! It came out with such force that the rebound off DH's tum sent the poo flying over a metre over Corey and all over the room and furniture, mwhahahaha!

Belgianchocolates · 22/06/2009 11:54

The poo incident was after a baby sick incident first thing this morning, lol. After her first feed of the day she brought up milk and managed to aim it into the gap of my dressing gown all down my boobs and tummy. Yuk.

runningmonkey · 22/06/2009 12:20

Hi all
struggling today A wouldnt settle at all last night and won't now so I am tied to a chair bf'ing as it is the only thing that stops her crying. Have had about 45 mins sleep since yesterday as she wouldn't even let dh hold her last night and as soon as we lay her down she cried

tried to go out in car earlier but A just screamed which I found so stressful I turned round and came home

[sad} running. Sounds horrible. I can tell you it will get better soon, but I'm not sure that will help ATM. Take care of yourself.

Belgianchocolates · 22/06/2009 12:34

It does get better running honestly.

Jennster · 22/06/2009 13:03

pula Justabout has just announced she is 12 weeks pregnant on facebook.

pulapula · 22/06/2009 13:08

running- hang in there- it will get better, I promise. Could be a growth spurt, or she just needs to feel secure at the moment. It's amazing how quickly they change.

Well I have survived a morning of all 3 but am knackered- I haven't stopped! Although I have tried to be "supermum/wife" by doing all kinds of household chores as well as feed, clean, dress and settle the children. I was very lucky that after DS2 had his 10am feed he was tired and had a big cry at 11am - I just walked him upstairs, swaddled him, held him a bit, and by 11.10 he was asleep in his moses basket and is still there which is making me a bit nervous as he never sleeps so well and usually wakes when its feed time- might have to check on him soon (when i've had my cup of tea ). So that meant i could make lunch, and get DS1 down for his nap at 12.30. Oh, I can hear DS2 coming round so it will be time for another BF in a min. Bye ladies.

pulapula · 22/06/2009 13:12

dandy- sounds like your DS is right on time for his 6 week growth spurt - i am hoping my DS had his early (last week) when he was really unsettled.

Belgianchocolates · 22/06/2009 13:18

Dandy I had a look at that book. It sounds really good. I wonder if my library can get me a copy. I'll check.

I've just spent half an hour rocking the pram and C's finally gone to sleep. She was tired, but every time I put her down she woke up again. I have a mountain of ironing I really need to do and can't do that wearing her in the sling. DH said C is like me, bad at going to sleep and waking (she always wakes screaming). Thinking about it, he's probably right .

pulapula · 22/06/2009 13:22

belgian- S always wakes screaming too. but i did get my first smile/grin from him this morning and im sure it wasnt wind as it did look different

pulapula · 22/06/2009 13:25

oh and whilst i'm on, all the talk of explosive poos reminds me of one of my first outings with DD. I took her to the john lewis changing room, and whilst on the mat, she did an explosive poo, and then followed it up with a wee so the mat was swimming in wee and korma poo and she was sopping wet/dirty, i was trying to mop it all up whilst she squirmed around. Not how i expected my shopping trip to go

llareggub · 22/06/2009 13:29

runningmonkey I remember feeling like you. In fact, I remember it so clearly! It will pass.

runningmonkey · 22/06/2009 13:30

Thanks ladies sometimes you just need someone else to say it to you as I find it hard to belive myself

A just slept for an hr but i needed to make myself something to eat and go to the loo, etc andjust as i closed my eyes to doze the bloody hv rang! And then A woke up so here I am feeding and one handed mn'ng again!

pulapula · 22/06/2009 13:32

jennster- just seen your message- I'm so pleased for her.

runningmonkey · 22/06/2009 13:35

Oh yeah talking of poo A seems to time her daily poo for just before dh gets in from work so when he gets in she is clean and content! How lovely for me.

Febes · 22/06/2009 13:45

Hi everyone. Have been reading thread when I can but no time to add until now.

DD has had the most rank nappies since Tuesday so I took her to the doctor today, he couldn't see anything too bad but wants a sample dropped off in the morning. He is such a nice doctor and always makes you feel better for having gone 'You did the right thing to bring her in but she seems fine...'

DH has the worst diahorrea and has done for 5 days now I feel so sorry for him as he is never sick so he is going to the doc tonight. He had to work this weekend and today but hopefully will have a half day tomorrow. He is feeling really weak and tired.

Rueben has been much easier for the past 2 days he is settling for naps well and last night he fell asleep at 7pm and feed at 10, 2, 4, 6 which although it is alot it is an improvement. He has green spinach poo for the past few days which I think could be the sigh for upset tummy??? Luckily my poo is fine .

I have spent the morning cleaning to make sure no pooey bugs are being past around so now have 2 sparkling bathrooms and 1 sparkling kitchen.

Dandy at your and DSs treatment in hospital.

Grumpy loved your birth story sounds similar to mine in a way. I was really emotional during labour and kept crying and talking about random things. Must be the exhaustion and pain.

Momino · 22/06/2009 14:09

I also saw cote in those published posts!

i posted about cote before seeing the later posts that already mentioned this... sorry! will catch up before posting again

Belgianchocolates · 22/06/2009 14:30

lol Momino. I nearly did the same as you, but read on before posting

febes Hope your dd is OK. As you dh has got diarrhoea it could be linked I suppose, but if she's OK otherwise then I don't think there's too much to worry about.

runningm Good to hear you had at least an hour's break from a crying baby.

Well, C woke after about 10 min of ironing. I've now discovered that it is possible to iron with a sleeping baby in a sling, while talking on the phone, cos your mum phoned you yet again at a time where you really wanted to just get on with things.

Gert2a · 22/06/2009 15:10

Have just found out that the national media museum at bradford does a similar thing to the big scream at york www.nationalmediamuseum.org.uk/FilmAndImax/watchwithbaby.asp for info if any one like me lives closer to bradford than york.

Tummum · 22/06/2009 15:22

Just had a visit from the HV and I have decided that I am going to get some career counselling to decide what I want to do when I grow up... with a view to also sorting out childcare arrangements because I am not happy with the way the current arrangement is going. Trouble is, that's a bit scary because I am having to confront the issue which is something I have been avoiding for months.

On that sort-of subject, who is going to go back to work and when are you planning to go back? Also, what childcare arrangements are you planning on using?

Belgian you are a super-multitasking-Mum - ironing, phoning and looking after a DD!

Febes Poor DH

Momino · 22/06/2009 15:30

tummum, that's a scary subject for me, back to work/career. i have a work from home charity job that is rubbish pay and would barely bring in £. it's a sales type job so if i put more hours into it, i could expand my 'sales' and would see the benefits after about 3 mos.

truthfully, don't want to go back but don't think i can find a job to fit in with 2 days a week of nursery. if i find a 3 day a week job, i would need to find additional childcare.

now that i have 3, i'd rather become a SAHM but don't know how we'd survive losing my income (if meagre) each month which currently covers food per week.

it's a good idea to talk to someone about career. i may take your example...
