lol running ginger is a lovely colour if it suits you

I'm a home dyer too. I use nice 'n' easy and it really is I've never had bad air dye experience. But I've got thin straight mid length hair, so probably a bit easier to do it yourself. Last time I had it done was for my wedding a year ago and it cost me £60 .

I've just been to fetch those car seat adaptors from the Bull Ring car park and of course I ended up spending money. I love Zara for little girl's clothes and they had a sale on, so with 2 dd's I just couldn't resist. I blame the car washing people for making me spend or maybe I'm turning into a shopaholic

Yesterday at my dcs' swimming lessons, I met this woman I knew from a/n classes with my ds. C was in her nappy and wanted to be held. She was happily sitting on my lap and this woman kept going on about how I should put her down in her pram, because it was too hot. She was really getting on my nerves. I felt like shouting: It's my baby and I know she wants to be on my lap!!!!

pulapula · 02/07/2009 13:04

Gosh i am so moody today and just want to cry (and have done a few times) . S won't stop crying, won't feed properly and won't settle, DD and DS1 have been winding each other up and causing mayhem. Finally got S to sit in his bouncy chair although he's grizzling. DS1 is in his cot but not sleeping so will no doubt be a nightmare this afternoon. I hate this heat.

I really can't cope when i have all 3 DCs and S can't be put down. At least DH is coming home to take DD on a school visit.

No PIL around til next week to entertain the DCs as they are away.

Better go.

Grumpy- I used to really want an alfa spider but then we bought a porsche boxster S instead . But that got sold when we had DS1 as it was rarely used as it was (we would sometimes take DD out in it if only one of us was with her) and would be used even less with 2 DCs. So now we have a sensible family car .

pulapula · 02/07/2009 13:07

belgian- i wish you'd said something to that woman, or else put her in her pram just to show her how it was a BAD idea. Thankfully S is happy is his bouncy chair now- i should really go and hang the washing out but not sure how long he'll sit there for...

Momino · 02/07/2009 13:11

running, i do remember you mentioning lushhenna... appointment in an hour and still haven't decided. i feel cheap and want to spend the money on going out tomorrow night or on my outing next week. i just wish one of my sisters were here because they would tell me the truth, either please get it done, you're looking your age (40 on sat ) or no, it's not too bad yet, save your money and do it in a few more months.

hmmmmmmmmmm.

grumpy, well done to your DD . be smug!

pulapula · 02/07/2009 13:18

Momino- I don't think you look like you're going to be 40

Belgianchocolates · 02/07/2009 13:29

pula It must be hard when S is like that. I can't imagine what it must be like with 3 dcs at home all the time. The heat can't be helping either. C's been OK this morning (morings are her best times), but she's decided after her last feed that life is much more enjoyable on mummy's chest. I will have to put her down though, because I've got to go up into the loft to get the tent out as my SIL is coming to pick it up after school. Got to do a little tidying before she comes as well + rinse chicken poo of the decking as I forgot to close the gate earlier this morning.

I managed to get myself locked out of the house earlier and C was on her own the sofa . Luckily the neighbours were at home, but going round via their garden does involve climbing a fence, not easy in a maxi dress! Just as well that I knocked their door, because C's passport was delivered at their house. That means I can go to Belgium this weekend to show C off! Yay!

Momino · 02/07/2009 13:35

awww, Pula, thanks for the compliment, you're just saying that....

I really hope your day gets better (it will). hope Sam has settled and you get some peace later (you will).

OP posts:
Tummum · 02/07/2009 14:05

Pula sounds v. difficult. Oh, and of your previous cars ! Same for Blotted's spider.

Lol at mental image of Belgian's climbing antics in a maxidress!

Just had to post that DD2 has just done a No2 on the potty after asking to go to the potty. I am sooooo proud of her. It's only been a couple of weeks since we started toilet training. It's nice to only have one set of nappies to sort out, and I don't mind the smell of BF poo. In fact I think it's quite nice

Tummum · 02/07/2009 14:06

PS. We need to start up a new thread as running out of space. Any bright ideas for titles?

pulapula · 02/07/2009 14:25

belgian- luckily DD and DS1 go to nursery on Tues and Weds so i don't have 3 all the time, and guess I am moody because i had a nice couple of quiet days (and Monday was good too as S was more settled and PIL came to help out). As seriously considering more nursery days or separate nursery days for DD and DS1. Just tried to get S in his cot but he wasn't in a deep sleep so would wake up each time. So now he is snoozing on my chest so will give it a bit longer and try again, as i'm sure DS1 will wake soon so i'll need to get him up (and hang the washing whilst its so sunny).

Belgianchocolates · 02/07/2009 14:29

tummum well done to your dd!

pula More nursery or separate nursery days do sound like a good idea. I bet your dcs will love more time in nursery too at their ages.

C has woken now I've put her down, but she's happy. I think she's had enough sleep and is ready for a play now

I'm oddly wishing for more washing as it's drying so quickly today. I've done everything I can and I just know I'll have loads to do when it's raining.

I booked my weekend trip home now. Not looking forward to the drive down, we'll arrive there in the middle of the night. I'm aiming for a 10 o'clock ferry.

pulapula · 02/07/2009 14:50

Belgian- yes, they do love nursery, but it does cost nearly £40 a day per child, so it's a lot of money although i guess i am still being paid by work.

Even though i am looking forward to DD going to school, I am wondering whether its going to make things harder, as I will have to be up and out early and also i might have to disturb DS1 and DS2 from their naps to go pick her up. I have requested a couple of days of after-school clubs but maybe its not enough. I feel bad to have

pulapula · 02/07/2009 14:51

Sorry, didn't finish my sentence. I feel bad to have 3 children and then be thinking of ways to get someone else to look after them .

Belgianchocolates · 02/07/2009 15:42

pula I already have the school run to do. You do get into a kind of routine. Mornings are the hardest, but I just make sure ds and dd1 are dressed and ready to go out and if C isn't then I do her when we get back home, but I've become so used to it now that I manage to get up at 7.30 and have all 3 fed, dressed, smothered in sun screen and ready to go by 8.30 . Don't feel guilty about needing to pay for help with looking after your children either. In the past women had the help of their extended family, but nowadays a lot of women (including us) haven't got that luxury so we have to pay for help.

SpangleMaker · 02/07/2009 18:20

Quick post to say hi

matthewandbumpsmummy so, so sorry to hear about your friend's loss

llare hope you are ok, thinking about you.

grumpy very of the Alfa Spider. DH would love one - he has an Alfa 147 or something for work and is lusting after a GT next, for now I'm entertaining the idea, but we'll have to see how his business is doing. He does have a very old Lotus Esprit that's his pride and joy, but unfortunately he just has to use it for going to work atm.

hair colours used to do my own and it wasn't too bad, esp using a colour not too different from my own so the mistakes didn't show up too badly I have it done at a salon now though as a treat to myself

Getting a night off this evening to go and get measured for bridesmaid dress for step-sis's wedding Got the control pants on! We're going for a sneaky glass of wine too (am leaving DH here with a bottle... of EBM for H).

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2009 18:57

Hello all

Well I have had some very hot and cross girls here this afternoon. DD2 and I went to the park after school (with S) and then she didn't want to walk home because she was tired. She had a major meltdown at home, just as S was chewing on my nipple (it really hurt) and screaming (the dog was barking as well), then DD1 trailed in, having finished football, with a bloody nose and a baaaad attitude.

However, order was restored with crappy pizza and corn on the cob .

Just waiting for the return of DH in his Spider . I 'allowed' him to have an impractical 2 seater because it's a) gorgeous b) he rarely takes
more than 1 kid anywhere and c) I have an ugly but practical (and much-loved by me ) Multipla with 6 seats for family trips. Plus, his business is devoted to Alfa Romeos so it makes sense that he has the best Alfa he can. But he'd love a Porsche (Pula I think?).

Just about to throw DD2 in the bath and attempt to wash her tangled hair. Even worse is to come, as DD1 appears to have swapped some her hair for coconut matting - there will be tears and tantrums when I tackle that lot.

Hmmm may attempt a hennerisation tonight to cover my faded orange locks. Or I may have a cider instead (if I manage to express any milk).

And momi, from your photos, I would have said you were younger than me .

Belgian C is lovely - that hair!!!!!

New thread needed - something about hot cross babies maybe?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2009 18:59

Random 'some' appeared in that post

Belgianchocolates · 02/07/2009 20:31

grumpy I'm joining you in the lazy mum league. My dcs have had pizza on mon (the heat up in the oven kind), pasta with sauce from a jar on tues and fish fingers and oven chips yesterday followed by Dominos pizza today. My excuse is that it's too hot to cook . In normal circumstances I do provide them with freshly cooked home made nutritional meals

Thanks for the complements. C is lovely, but then again I would think that

My poor dd1 is poorly. She was fine after school, but has developed a fever this evening. I made her drink loads, gave her some calpol and sent her to bed early. I hope she'll be better tomorrow or she'll miss her school trip to the farm + I'm leaving for Belgium too.

pulapula · 02/07/2009 21:33

I feel really bad about my DCs meals when I'm home alone and not free to cook as they are things like baked beans, tinned spaghetti, something in the oven (fish fingers, sausages, chicken dippers), microwave rice, pasta and ready made sauce....

Sorry, using up one of the last few posts but no bright ideas about the new thread title.

flippineck · 02/07/2009 22:11

Something like 'hot cross babies...the weather and jabs, what a combo'?

Only came on tonight to moan about my shitty day, but pula - sounds remarkably similar to yours except with 2 children, not 3. DD1 has been really whiny and completely overreacting to everything today (tears, tantrums, claiming to be ill and so on), and A has just been impossible to please too. I've been in tears too, DD1 was actually really sweet then and offering me tissues to make my poorly nose better, and saying 'don't be sad mummy'.

Days like this and I seriously wonder if I'm coping. I have no idea how to deal with DD1 whn she's like this, and when A is screaming at the same time I just want to go away somwhere. I don't know if it's a hint of PND or just a difficult phase with the girls. My hv is coming tomorrow - not sure why, she wanted to and it saves me a trip to the clinic - so maybe I'll have a chat with her. DH not being very helpful, he just keps saying things like it was just a bad day. But he's a bot stressed about the work thing at the moment. Not worried about his job and how we'll cope as such but apparently the atmosphere at work now is terrible.

Sorry, that was all me wasn't it? . Hope everyone is ok.

Momino · 02/07/2009 22:20

here's the new thread. hurrah!
