Hope Leo recovers soon. I guess the hot weather isn't helping. On the positive side, everyone in the Wilkie household will be building up their immunity .

PCF have the boys got cute outfits to wear on Saturday then?

So, Wilkie and PCF. You both use Aptimel. Can I ask what colour their poos are? . This is what B was on, but have switched to Aptimel Comfort. He was pooing every other day at most and his poos were green - the worst was a really dark green. HV said that's cos he had lots of air going through him. P was on SMA and although she had minor stomach issues, she never had a problem pooing - and yellow.

Reg - bright yellow poo here too (Leo not me)

Lizzzombie · 02/07/2009 16:01

Thankyou everyone for looking out for the dress I wanted. Its no where to be found evidently. But, I found (and brought) it in black this morning. £59 down to £17.70!!! Its gorgeous. BUT I have no idea when I will wear a black dress..can you wear black to a wedding? I wore a black lacey type dress to my sisters wedding, but this is a proper black cockatil type dress. I guess I could go mad with bright accessories.
Anyway...

Rgee - We used Aptimil here too.
Wilkie - Could Leo just be a pukey baby? or is it deffo a bug? DJ used to puke up constantly until he was about 10 months. It was gross.
PCF - Have a good wedding. Where is your sister getting married? The wedding I need my dress for is happening in Brighton College at xmas time. (v.posh!)
EAH - Glad E enjoyed her big school trips. Def up for a September day in Hastings. On the way back from Hastings on the train last Friday, DJ turned o me and said, "I'm having so much fun, I love the train Mummy!" It was straight out of an Enid Blyton story!
LAL - My twin nephews are 4 in August, and are getting bikes. I just brought helmets in Tschibo half price! (hope they fit) Good luck with the party.

Well, DP is taking DJ to his parents for a WEEK on Monday!!!! Its his Dad's 70th and his parents Golden Wedding Anniversary, and we've agreed to each take him away with us for a week in the summer so the other one of us can do stuff on the house. So, next week, when I am not working, I will be doing my garden etc. I am so excited! Am thinking of having a girls night in, and getting my singstar out too! (may have to invite my neighbours!)
Its sweltering here, and DJ passed out in his buggy on the way back from nursery. I can't wake him up and am so going to pay for this nap later on. DP is out at a mates house tonight, so DJ will just have to sit up and watch Ugly Betty with me, as I refuse to put Thomas/Fireman Sam on past 6pm!

Laters, I'm off to plant up some chives! xxx

where is everyone?!

vinorouge · 05/07/2009 20:37

Hey Lizz!!!!

Vino here. Been lazy and not posted for what seems like ages. I had yesterday off work as was supposed to be running the race for life but me and my mate decided we couldn;t be bothered so have had a lovely weekend at home instead. We went for a picnic yesterday then had roast chx (a bit hot to be cooking it really) and been to a friends this aft. Sorted 3 bags of stuff for the charity shop that get colected by those door to door vans this week. Me and a car boot/ebay aren't happening (haven't happened for the last 18 months) so I am getting rid.

I am rather hot now.

Hope you enjoy your DJ free week. I'm jealous of you being able to sleep until you wake up!

Dh an d I are peeved cos the observer has started not giving a weekly tv guide. We only buy a sunday paper so get our tv guide that way but they are now giving a sunday only listing and a pick of the week feature. Guess its meant to try and increase saturday circulation.

I was annoyed roegr federa won wimbledon. I was rooting for roddick!

Wilkiepedia · 06/07/2009 09:08

Am typing one handed due to L being asleep on one arm so won't write LOADS...

Sorry Vino, I had to chuckle at your gripe with the Observer - you will have to switch allegiance to the DM (hey I don't care what 'MN' thinks, I read it and am proud). Sounds a lovely day you had!

Lizz - am so so of your child free week - will they take L & J too?

Started potty training on Thurs - four days and one wee accident. Obv he was ready. Have ordered a Pottete travel potty off eBay. He hasn't pooed in potty yet tho. Have sent him to nursey in pants today. Went to Matalan yest to get more pants and they start at 3-4 years only!!!? How bizarre.

Photos of Brunette Wilkie to follow on FB - honest opinions pls. Bearing in mind I have been blonde for 28 years, you would not be;ieve my sister's reaction to dying it - she is outraged and thinks it's my 'hormones' - er no, I just fancied a change - I am a stone overweight and only think I can currently control immediately is my hair!!!!!!!

Reggiee · 06/07/2009 10:30

Me here too - also too lazy to post. And it would probably turn into a full blown rant about B regressing and me being annoyed with dh. Anyway....

Vino I totally agree with you about the Observer TV pages. Spent ages looking for them yesterday (don't often make it to reading the review section). But, we also get the NoTW Sunday paper (talk about two extremes....) so may have to make do with that one instead. Although am not really watching any telly at the minute. Unless you include Peppa Pig and sodding Dora the Expolorer.

Wilkie we took P to buy a potty on Saturday. She was most excited and chose a pink one. Then promtly weed in the dining room. I guess she's not ready yet......
Will check out your photos this evening. Nowt wrong with being brunette. I have my first grey eyebrow hair. Sigh.

Fed up with B screaming every time he is put down to sleep. He is such a velcro baby. So we're a week into infacol / comfort formula, and yesterday there was a minor breakthrough as he had a yellow/green poo with minimal effort. Think all is not well today though as he's back to trumping like a trooper. Will report back on next colour of poo . But don't hold your breath - it could be days.....

Right off out for a wander before it rains. Unbelievably, I think he may have just gone to sleep without screaming.

Reggiee · 06/07/2009 10:32

Meant to add..

Lizz what are you doing today then? Talk me through life without children and a dp/h

Lizzzombie · 06/07/2009 10:48

Morning!
Wilkie - I think your hair looks fabulous. Did you do it yourself or in a salon? I need to do mine, I am starting to look like a badger. Not good. Great news on J being potty trained too.
Vino - Hope you feel good after your declutter! Someone recently told me that those bags you get through the door are often 'fake' and companies sell them on to scrap merchants and keep the money.
Rgee - DJ is so not into potty training. He is an occassional user. A social pottyopath I would describe it. He goes at nursery, when all the other kids do, but I have to cajoul him into going at home. And no nappy time = him weeing on the sofa or pooing next to the potty. So, he will be staying in nappies for the forseeable future. Although, I did send DP off with a potty in the car and his parents have a big garden, and had 4 kids, so maybe Grandma will do it for me!

So, DP & DJ have driven off to Lowestoft to reek havoc on his family.
I was going to creosote the fence in the back yard and paint the wall outside, but...its been raining all morning so I think I won't. Am going to blitz the house until lunchtime with loud groovy music (neighbours are out!) then get my sewing machine out later on and do stuff.
Really want to wash bedroom curtains, but I think they are dry clean, it doesn't say though. Just has P symbol.
Am working as usual this week, and hope to get my hair cut at some point. A couple of mates are coming round during the evenings, but generally I intend to chillax !! Oooh, I ought to buy some more wine if I intend to do that correctly!
Caveat:
As much as I love being on my own, I don't enjoy being away from DJ for long periods like this as my mind starts wandering and thinking awful scenarios of things which may happen. So, I need to blot them out too.

Right, my hoovering is calling me, we have half the beach inbedded in the carpet due to lowtide paddling yesterday evening!

xxx

Wilkie - have commented on your hair - I cut mine shorter than normal during pg and iirc dyed it both times after they were born too! (didnt last long as got bored of doing roots!)

Rgee - ummm no advice for Ben but I am sure I read on here somewhere that it can take 2 weeks for old stuff to clear from their tummies?? I hate Dora too and have never really let Hattie watch it as got so pee'd off with it when Ellie liked it, thankfully she likes Fireman Sam, Peppa, Holly & Ben and her new fav is tom and jerry which she seems to find very very amusing

Lizz - know what you mean about the 'thoughts' my mum and dad desperate to take Ellie abroad and I am the one who constantly says no as have about a thousand scary scenarios in my head, although they did ask if they could take both of them to butlins next year for a long weekend and I have said yes to that

Not much going on here ... lots of change at work and one person not coping at all and being a bit rude/agressive to staff so a bit of a atmosphere (am glad am only there 2 days a week) and only 7 weeks till I have almost a month off then my new hours start )

Hattie driving me mad she is so defiant and crafty have visions of her shimmering down the drainpipe in her teenage years to go out for a night

Wilkiepedia · 06/07/2009 21:21

Reg - when J had constipation and poo issues, the HV recommended making up 4oz cooled boiled water with one teaspoon fresh orange. I offered him it during the day and then put it back in fridge. It make his poo much softer and more regular. Leo's poo is bright yellow and very soft but his face still looks like he is going to explode when he poos. The grunts he makes are hilarious!

JJ had a bad day at nursery apparently he was really distressed having to wee on potty or toilet, kept crying and asking for nappy, asking for me, he wet himself and really had a meltdown over it. So they put a nappy back on him late on - he got home with me, asked for his pants and continued weeing on his potty no probs?!?!? WTF is that all about???!!!!! Nursery are fabulous and so lovely so I know they won't be making an issue out of it. Any ideas?

Lizz - agree that although nice, a week without DJ would be hard.

vinorouge · 06/07/2009 22:03

Lizz - P means dry clean only! Ta for warning about those charity bags. Boringly I know all about the fakes cos of my work. The fakes are those flyers that you get instead of a bag and they only have a registered company number instead of a charity number.

Wilkie - love the hair! Not got much advice about potty training sorry. I have had some friends whose kids have dried up at nursery so maybe its just coping with something new there. Are any of his pals at nursery training? Pottetes are brill btw. I take mine everything. E refers to it as doing a wee in the frog bag!!It's been whipped out in all kinds of places. I keep a spare pair of pants, a pocket pack of tissues and some wipes in the little bag with mine.

Rgee - are you ok??? Sounds as though Ben is testing you with his sleeping and pooing.

I must be in the minority cos i quite like Dora! Our dvd player has broken though so E was upset she couldn't watch fifi this morning.

Mum had e&s at my house today. she rang me at work at 8am to say the toaster had caught fire! She couldn't see the plug (it was on an extension lead behind the fridge - not very safe I know) so had tipped the smoking toast in the washing up bowl only to see flames coming out of the toaster. She tipped the kettle into the toaster and promptly shorted the elec so wanted to know how to switch it back on and how to turn the smoke alarm off!

Lizzzombie · 07/07/2009 08:11

Vino - Your poor mum! (& you!) hope you sorted out the electrics ok. Have to say that from now on I will be using your pottette tip and passing it on to any customers who buy them! Enter it into the tip of the day on here - you may win something! x

Quick post as grumpy old L on me (again): Next sale starts 18th June xxxxxx

Reggiee · 07/07/2009 10:44

Moaning yesterday about B really helped. He was an angel and slept for 4 hours in the day, plus went to sleep at night withouth complaingin
Today the phone has rung both times after I have put him down successfully, thus waking him up screaming .
Still no poo. Yup Vino, I'm truly hacked off with the pooing (think it's his tummy affecting the sleep tbh) but most frustrating is I can't do anything to help him.

Wilkie I already have my alarm call for 4.30am poised for the Saturday. Wanna come and join me in the queue Vino at Crown Point?

Reggiee · 07/07/2009 15:10

Dark green poo alert.....

Wilkiepedia · 07/07/2009 15:28

B and L have been talking!!!!!!!! L a nightmare, just cries when awake. Gah

Reggiee · 07/07/2009 18:17

Feckin babies. Who'd ave em .

Am now smug. It's 6.15pm and both are in bed asleep. .

eandh · 07/07/2009 18:21

Rgee and Wilkie - reading your posts takes me back about 2.6 years (used to love 6.30 a sthey would both be in bed asleep!!)

Had a manic day and this afternoon was meant to go wedding dress shopping with friend and dh have the girls he got tied up at work so they had to come with us.....they were so well behaved and gave friend a thumbs up or down with each dress, she actually bought one trusting our 3 opinions and the lady in the shop gave the girls some dimante hairclips in little boxes for being such good girls (although they did try on some meringue bridesmaids dresses and pretend they were brides even though they arent even coming to the wedding with us!!)

Reggiee · 08/07/2009 19:46

EaH good to see you've got your feet up as ever

Well, last night not too bad if you discount B do a turn in the cot and banging his head against the cot bars numerous time. Might have to splash out on a bumper. Sigh. Bed again by 6.15pm .

PCF how was the wedding?

Lizz how is your week

Went to clinic today, and discussed (again) B's poos. Such a standard conversation for me atm. I am soooo interesting . Anyway, the HV is going to chat to the dr as she is now thinkign it could be a milk intolerance...........I so hope not. But he's still piling on the pounds and thriving so it can't be too bad - 13lb 3 and gorgeous.

Wilkie has J done a poo yet and L stopped crying?

Talking of wine, I really really fancied a vodka and coke. Haven't had one for years, but just enjoying one now. Not bad, given I don't like cola.

Lizzzombie · 09/07/2009 10:35

Morning!
I have a brand new (free) hair cut! Am loving it, just thought I'd run on her and flick it around a bit!

Rgee - Hope your vodka & coke went down nicely. When is your appt to find out if its a milk intolerance causing his dogdy poo?
Eah - I love that the girls were trying dresses on in the shop too! I bet they loved it!
Wilkie - I hope L has stopped crying for a bit. Chocolate

Well, I am having a nice 'me' week, met up with some mates in Brighton last night to show off my new hair cut. Didn't get too tispy which was good.
Neighbour is coming round for curry & slumdog video tonight.
Its nice and sunny today so I am going to tackle my garden.

DP rang up this morning, he had dosed off whilst DJ was watching Thomas this morning, and woke up to have him staring right at him...
"Daddy's going to have an accident."
"Daddy's going to hospital"

  • right in his face.
Needless to say, DP was rather freaked out and intends on driving very slowly today and being very careful with everything he does. Weird! Right, best get dressed then! (sorrry!) x
OP posts:
eandh · 09/07/2009 11:45

rgee - hope appt comes through quickly

Lizz - pictures please! tonight sounds fun (I'm out tomorrow night with 17 of the preschool mums can't wait) bit scary about DJ eeek!

Can't type anymore as Ellie has her 'graduation' this afternoon and is currently trying on 3 different dresses and accessoring with jewllery as apparently its a 'very important day'!!! Bet I cry though!

Reggiee · 09/07/2009 18:16

Sooooooo........who had their first visit to the hospital today with their toddler? Sigh.
Poor, poor Pippa. Heard a gigantic crash followed by a truly horrid scream/crying at 6.10am. Had just got up as B was fussing. Ran into bedroom and it appears she had dropped her bear and was leaning over the bed guard to retrieve it, bed guard had given way (I know I put it up properly as I always check, plus I leant on it afterwards to test it and it gave way ), and she had fallen face first onto the wooden floor. Swollen lip, bloody nose, purple gum and two wobbley teeth that will turn grey/black. Poor love. Sob.
Went to our minor injuries unit (Vino think you've been there - I thought they were fab), followed by the dentist.

Got back home where lovely mil had rushed over to look after B, there followed a phone call from the health visitor who said after talking B's case through with the dietician, they thought he had some form of milk intolerance so she is getting an appointment for me at the dr's and he will prescribe some brand of formula (can't remember what it's called but looked it up on MN and apparently it tastes vile. Just hope it works). B then did a dark green poo for me, and mil was horrified by it (had described it but never been witnessed).

B now asleep. DH let P stay up an extra half hour tonight so she's watching tv - not sure that's a good idea but hey ho - he's on her bed duty tonight.

Am looking forward to some alcolhol very very soon. Hugs please.

Anyway, Lizz sounds like you're having a lovely week, and pmsl about your dp being freaked out.
Eah how was this afternoon? Did you cry?

eandh · 09/07/2009 18:44

oh no Reggie poor you and poor Pip, hope shes okay now (any consolation I knocked one of my front teeth out on the helter skelter when I was 3 and the adult one grew through fine) Good news that you are getting somewhere with Ben and hopefully the formula will be ok (and wey hey free formula [wink)

I managed not to cry this afternoon and it just made me realise how much she has grown up lately Hattie had a fab time as I stayed to help prepare stuff for the parents so she had a session there ready for September! She got a lovely photo book of her time at preschool and she looks so small and tiny atr the beginning and I get to keep all her file so have loads of lovely pictures and comments to look back on plus they keep pictures etc they have done so have a record of her 'art' from 2.5 to 4.10 (and can see a significant improvement ) she got a lovely teddy with a tshirt on that has preschool logo on it and some of the Mums clubbed together and got me a huge bunch of flowers and even bigger box of chocolates to say thankyou for all the bits I have done so I was
