One of my friends has 2 x Ds's and the oldest starts school in September. He often has a nap still.

I think the difference between my friends with kids that nap is that their DH/P's are home at a more reasonable hour than mine so its nice to keep them up to see their Dads and a nap after lunch helps with that.
If DJ had a nap then we would have 5 minutes together before bedtime!
Eah - Have you seen the price of the FiremanSam/Bob outfits on Ebay, they are about £40!!! I was [shocked] Its really hard to find Fireman Sam toys. There are a couple of bits on Toys R Us, which I think will be Xmas presents though.

Raisin - How cheesey am I?! "I love my buggy" from liz.... Made me laugh!

Omg - DJ had the biggest tantrum ever so far last night. I think it was because his dinner was a tiny bit hot so he couldn't stuff if down as fast as he wanted. But I had to wrestle him out of his chair where he kicked and screamed like a tomato for 5 full mins at full volume. Then started shouting for juice. Downed half a cup of juice and got back up to the table and ate his dinner. It was not like a tantrum I've seen before. It was a whole new level! Very scarey.

Wow chatting! Nice to see you all back ladeez.

5 days to due date and counting...

J still has a sleep at 1-1.30pm for an hour to hour and half but if he doesn't he is a little sod devil in the afternoon whinging. However, we are having the challenge of him not going to sleep at bedtime again - the other night it was 9.30pm. He didn't come out of his room just banged and sang for two hours. Which is fine but then he is knackered and horrible the next day! Not sure what the answer is but watching a programme on TV last night called 'My child won't sleep' which made me feel better !!

Reg/Vin - I was annoyed that Yasmina won The Apprentice too. She was definitely not the better candidate but the job she is going to do sounds boring as fuck! Kate came across very well in the follow up I thought and yes Vino, agree re the outfit!!!!

Lizz/EAH - another Fireman Sam obsessive here (J not me). He desperately wants the fireman sam fire engine (he's got the helicpter) but am not giving in as he already has a nice fire engine from ELC.

Raising - very impressed re normal jeans! Took me 9 months to get back into my normal ones. Am embracing my maternity ones post birth methings!!!

Is that everyone? Sorry if I missed you off, I have only just got up (oops) so am off for a bath then a trundle down to Dunelm and Matalan for a mooch round I think. DH just rang with 'the deal of the century' on a flat screen TV. Clearly his money tree is in full bloom but I told him no as a fridge/freezer is the priority next! Not as exciting but necessary as the door is broken and won't shut completely. How exciting.

Right, send me labour vibes, back laters xxxxxxxx

Reggiee · 09/06/2009 10:52

Wasn't that keen on Yasmina's hair either...I meant to watch that Child Won't Sleep programme last night but forgot to record it. Doh. B had his longest period of sleep last night and went 5.25 hours. Bliss!

My dsis is on her way up to see us today. Can't wait to see her as we are due a good catch up. She's moving to USA in 6 weeks though.

RGEE - was ebaying a lot of 12-18 and few 18-24 month clothes of Hatties (shes till mainly in 18-24) but stuck them on here last night and sold quite a bit and no fees and ebay hassle, must admit put about 4 things as ffp as they are fine to wear but have small mark/bobbling

Wilkie - did you buy anthing yesterday then? PMSL at dh and the 'deal of the century' tv

Laughalot - you found the internet then hope L settled ok after her non alcholic cocktail last night!

Ummm now I cant remember who has posted?? Friend coming for cuppa this monring whilst E at preschool, said friend has dd who is only 4 months older than H so it'll be nice for her to have someone to play with and her ds is 10months so I get to have a cuddle with him!

Lizzzombie · 10/06/2009 08:20

LTH came into work yesterday but I was stuck with a thickasshit annoying customer for about an hour so couldn't speak to her.
She drove me MAD! (The customer, not LTH!)

As a low income family she was eligible for the £500 sure start grant. So she came in with £500 cash for baby number 4, due in 2 weeks. Ok, fine, thats normal.
But, then she spent an hour telling me how she only wanted the best for her baby and chose a £180 cotbed and a £40 foam mattress. She choose a bebecomfort Loola buggy, which her DP hated, and I know is going to be coming back, but I sold her the shop floor one £20 off as she wanted it in black and theres a 2 month wait on them. I suggested she put the £20 saved towards the better mattress, but no. She said it didn't really matter about the mattress and they were all the same really.
She then went on (no irony here) about how all her kids wore designer clothes and had all the latest games consoles as she only wants them to have the best.
I literally bit my tongue off. "YES, BUT YOU ARE BUYING A SHITEY MATTRESS WHICH WILL BE WRECKED IN 3 MONTHS" - "YOU ARE STUPID". But I didn't.

Another family I know, who are not classified as low income, but as mother is on 2nd consecutive mat leave they only have 1 income. Have a 2nd hand maclaren for DS - 2 and she carries DD 3 months in a sling everywhere as she is hoping DS will take to walking properly soon so she can put DD into the buggy and not buy a new one.

I am not totally sure about these grants sometimes. Anyway...judgey hat off...off to work I go.

Rgee - BTW - Welcome to my world of huge scarey bra sizes! I have dropped to a 32GG (big wow!) Considering I gave up BF'ing nearly 2 years ago! I have such a bad bra buying habit too. I keep buying ones which don't fit properly as I can't find ones which do. Meh.

Why do my nipples itch?!

Lizzzombie · 10/06/2009 14:04

LOL! Its a sign!!!

Actually I remember mine driving me nuts when I was pregnant with DJ. Possibly due to just having more sensitive skin/nerve endings at the moment?

OP posts:
Wilkiepedia · 10/06/2009 15:43

Do you reckon it is worth wanging some Lansinoh cream on them? They are driving me mad - so is tummy but I think that is just where the skin dried from the rash

Lizzzombie · 10/06/2009 17:58

Or, these are very good.

OP posts:
Reggiee · 10/06/2009 19:07

Wilkie I reckon your nips are just a bit more sensitive . Not sure if lanisoh will soothe them.

Lizz I used to worry about the clientele at Mothercare. The amounbt of times the customers used to crap in the changing rooms rather than go to the toilet downstairs. Thankfully I never had to clean them. Urgh.

EaH I hadn't considered selling the stuff via MN - doh - but that's a great idea.

Lal looking forward to hearing all about your hols. I hope it's not raining as much as it is here this afternoon....

Well, I came on here to be all smug....B slept from 11pm - 5.05am last night . However, he has been screaming the last 2 hours so I don't feel quite as refreshed anymore. He's just dropping off in the bouncy chair as my shoulder aches fgrom carrying him, and lying flat on his back is a definite no no at this stage.

Am full of cold atm and seem to be blowing my nose every two seconds - don't know where all the snot is ocming from . Then keep washing my hands cos I don't want the kids to get it.

eandh · 13/06/2009 16:59

Alert Alert Alert.....

Lizzzombie · 15/06/2009 08:26

Gorgeous photo Wilkie - very cute.

Congratulations to Nemo too.

Can I just have a "me" rant for 2 minutes, then I will be gone.

Went to Bodiam Castle in the morning yesterday, which is a big castle fairly near us. My knees are killing me from lugging DJ up and down medival staircases though!
Came back went round town with DP who is looking for
some birkenstocks. None in town, went to beach, got sunburnt.
Came back, DP wanted to cook tea (toad in the hole) unfortunately, it went it bit wrong. We ended up with flames, yes, FLAMES leaping out of the oven and smoke billowing, yes, BILLOWING into the house. Thankfully, DJ was up still so I took him outside, but upstairs was full of thick smoke. DP kept the oven door shut and eventually it went out.
This happend fairly early (about 5pm) so we went out for tea leaving the windows and doors all open. DP totally shocked.

So...guess what I have to do this morning.
Yes, thats right. Clean my chargrilled oven. The one which I scrubbed clean last Monday.
Sooooooo annoying. But, hey. At least we didn't all burn to death or die from smoke inhalation. All very nasty. Before we went out for tea, I went upstairs to open all the windows and it was so scary not being able to breathe/see for all the smoke. It doesn't bear thinking about what would have happend if DJ had been asleep upstairs. He would have got the full brunt of the smoke.

Anyway, please go and test your fire alarms!
We will be eating sandwiches for the rest of this week.
x
