Still not much planned for today. Housework and wtaching tele I guess.
Well I hope you have a good day whatever your doing

JustKeepSwimming · 31/08/2009 08:37

LaT - men do some silly things don't they!?!

Gingeme - doesn't sound like a good night, hope you get done what's needed today.

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday

T off with grandparents to their house soon, he's packed

then we can get ourselves sorted and ready to go to london later.

Thinking of you JKS. Sending lots of those positive vibes.

Happy birthday J! Four today

LaTrucha · 31/08/2009 12:26

Can anyone tell me how much it costs to sell on ebay? I'm thinking of dipping my tow in the water so I can stop feeling bad about buying things!

madmouse · 31/08/2009 12:53

LaT just pennies, I think I usually pay around 15-30 pence? (racks brain) been a while

LaTrucha · 31/08/2009 13:18

Is it scary to sell?

LaTrucha · 31/08/2009 13:40

Just doing ebay searches and realising how many quite valuable things I have given away to charity. I knew they were worth a few bob at the time so I shouldn't regret it now. Ebay makes me avaricious!

madmouse · 31/08/2009 14:19

I have always found selling very straightforward
Good photos and an honest and detailed description are a must.

sometimes you end up selling things for 99p sometimes like when I sold nearly new inline skates I almost got the new price back.
Royal Mail website can tell you how much postage will cost

charity shops need things that are worth a few bob :-)

AngeChica · 31/08/2009 20:53

all the best for you all and H this wee JKS

AngeChica · 31/08/2009 20:54

week

simpson · 31/08/2009 21:13

Hi all

J had a fab day and loads of pressies and every time I asked him what his favourite one was it was something different

We went to a fun fair this afternoon which both Dcs loved as M went on bouncy castle and round about etc.

She also saw Peppa Pig there and was beside herself with excitement

One more day then H goes home tom although Dcs have loved having him here and even M has remembered who he is

JKS - good luck with tests, let us know how you and H get on

simpson · 31/08/2009 21:31

Forgot to say I have tried M with a yogurt for pudding this evening so am keeping everything crossed for tomorrow

Gingeme · 01/09/2009 10:11

Morning all.
Simpson how is M today after her yoghurt? So glad J had a good birthday
LaT depends on what your selling realy. I have sold big stuff before now and put a 'pick up only' thing on but still get loads of people asking if I would consider posting it apart from that Ive always found it quite easy. Our next venture is to do a car boot sale. Not sure when yet but will have to be soon alot of them finnish the end of this month.
We all had a terrible night last night what with Edward having a bad dream and George coughing and crying. I woke about 1 am and found it realy hard to get back to sleep . Feel like crap today
Still gonna take the boys over the park for a bit soon then they can all go off to bed.
DH returning to work this afternoon after 3 weeks off. Think he needs to go back iyswim ?
Right better get socks and shoes on. Bye for now xx

simpson · 01/09/2009 10:53

Good luck today JKS

Gingeme - no poo yet
Sorry for your pants night...

Am thinking of getting a trampoline for back garden.

It will take up the whole garden but TBH back garden never used so may as well use space for trampoline iyswim.

We play footie and picnics etc in front garden as bigger.

Any one got any ideas on good deals for trampolines??

My internet connection not letting me do much searching online

Ok H just arrived and think M has just bitten J again so best go!!!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 01/09/2009 12:43

OOH ooh anyone on FB? Have you seen the latest picks from Barristermum? Cerys is just beautiful x

simpson · 01/09/2009 20:58

JKS - how did it go hun??

JustKeepSwimming · 01/09/2009 21:05

here:

After a long day at GOSH, being sent back and forwards for different clinics I have the following update:

  • Developmental Clinic - he is functioning at a 6month old level (apart from his gross motor skills - ie he can walk, though that seems to be getting wobbler )
  • MRI - done under GA, he was v upset for a long time afterwards, the Prof & other docs will look at the results tomorrow
  • long chat with Registrar & quick chat with Professor (she promised a longer chat tomorrow after she's seen the MRI & some of the Telemetry), he is having Infantile Spasms not drop attacks or atonic seizures, or whatever else we've been calling them.

His IS started later than normal which is a Good Thing apparently, and it appears to stem from his known focal cortical dysplasia, which is also a Good Thing.
He is probably going to be a good candidate for surgery and surgery has been recommended as 'urgent' by the development people.
The Development Prof even half-joked that H couldn't have surgery tomorrow as the surgeon is away.....

We are back tomorrow morning for him to be hooked up for the telemetry for 24hrs. the prof said she'd come by in the evening when there should be enough info for her to look at.

And she wants to change meds too - agrees that the Trileptal is a waste of time and that the Keppra could be brought down too.
We may be starting on something new (IS-specific) from tomorrow.

we just want our DS back, and soon. positive vibes sent our way please

simpson · 01/09/2009 21:28

JKS ((hugs)) and positive vibes being sent your way from the simpson household!!

Fingers X on the new meds

If he does have surgery, are they talking days away or weeks??

JustKeepSwimming · 01/09/2009 21:34

they seem to be talking days at best, weeks at worst.

we're waiting to be told on thurs that we aren't being discharged tbh.
