Evening all
Have fallen behind a bit, hope i can catch up properly.

Madmouse - lol at Nathan's new middle name i just love it that you can even have the slightest of moans about him doing stuff, it's fab!!

G - well done on lots of packing! Hope you all have a fab time, when are you off, Friday? and where are you going?

LaT - glad the swine flu is passing, doesn't sound nice. sorry that S is still coughing, sometimes coughs just hang about for ages. hope you can get out and meet friends again soon.
and grrrrr re your bro
we are mostly holidaying at home this year too. though still hoping we'll make it to center parcs in sept. need to get my H sitter in on a DH day off so 3 of us can go out.

H certainly lets us know if we do something he's not impressed with, lol. he new thing is to be obsessed with the swing, so he'll sit in the swing for aaages. even without you pushing it. DH was gardening, i've hung out washing, etc. he'll just sit there and watch the world going by i tried taking him out to go on the trampoline earlier and he just screamed until i put him back in!!! nutter.

Barristermum - hi there not feeling too amazing most of the time, but hey you've got to get on with stuff...
Cerys sounds fab
and good luck planning for dc2! i'm still planning on dc3 next year, we'll see. i'm looking forward to it though

Simps - you ok today?

Lily & Lucky - you guys about?

quick H update - after a few 'clear' days, he had some small nods yesterday and about 10 big deep ones today so much for the new drugs.....
oh and i've got tonsilitis, on ABs so hoping it stops hurting by tomorrow.
that's it from me

Gingeme · 05/08/2009 20:19

JKS we are away Sunday to Tenerife for 2 weeks. We have been looking at the reviews on the hotel we will be staying at. Sounds very nice The best bit hough is we are all inclusive so no cooking for me
I have just started a thread about the amount of kids not wearing a hat in the brief bit of sun we had this afternoon. I'm getting slated I give up

madmouse · 06/08/2009 10:08

ginge could be me with my child not wearing hat - but he refuses to wear it and I do try!! Luckily he has very thick hair, i use lots of sun cream and keep him in the shade as much as I can. He has neve had any sun burn yet. Will change I spose when he gets more mobile...

Gingeme · 06/08/2009 11:20

Morning all.
madmouse
Had a rough night with the boys last night.
David woke at 11 crying and saying he felt lonely. Took about an hour to re settle him. Eventualy he ended up falling asleep in my bed for a while in between all this George cried and refused to go back in his cot till 1am DH and I had a row because he got him up to begin with and its getting a bit of a habit now because every time I put him back in his cot he kept pointing to the door to get up Anyway I'm tired today pre mental and need to pack mine and DH's case but my brain won't function .
My Dad popping up later so I'll ask if he will take the boys out for a bit so I can atleast pack.
Ah well washing machines finnished.
See you all later. xx

madmouse · 06/08/2009 12:39

sorry ginge but pmsl at the idea of you being pre-mental, much better word than pre-menstrual

sorry you had rough night

Gingeme · 06/08/2009 15:31

All packed now. DH is going to weigh the cases later on the wii fit x

Housemum · 06/08/2009 20:17

Gingeme - I won't dare go near the thread - DD3 doesn't wear a hat as much as the others (but then she has tons of hair and light olive skin, and to be honest doesn't spend that much time in full sun - I do force a hat on her if we're out for extended periods - I remember the supernanny approach re hats, child takes it off, you put it on, repeat until one day they get the message!)

JKS - hope they sort the drugs soon, sorry to hear about your tonsilitis - I get it often and it is crap, isn't it.

Barristermum - good to hear from you again. Love the thought of 2 word sentences - lots of pointing and saying "look" round here but not much else!

Madmouse - Nathan sounds a right litle character! Despite the hard work, it must give you a few laughs. Amelie does a great "woe is me" face which makes it so much easier to ignore her strops.

Whoever it was that was talking about clothes sizes, Amelie is still in 12-18 months, and some 9-12 months stuff (she has some lovely 12-18mth summer trousers which probably won't fit her till midwinter - grrrr)

We're on hols on Monday - Bluestone in Pembrokeshirwe, Centre-Parc-ish type of place. Not been before, so looking forward to it - they've thrown in free bike hire, so hoping for good weather. DD1 (the 16 year old) has been asking for a ukulele (a group called Nevershoutnever has a few songs out at the mo with ukulele backing) so we bought one today with the aim of learning to play a few chords on holiday. Will take DD2's chime bars and some maracas for Amelie - looking forward to some mad afternoons!

Lilyloo · 06/08/2009 20:52

Hey all , great to see some 'old' faces and MM glad to see you posting a little more. How was the dentist ? Nathan sounds like a feisty little boy now come to think of it i can't see any of our lo's as laid back characters ?
I here in a fashion JKS the 3 of them at home is wearing thin already! Have been trying to get out of the house as much as possible tbh!
Finding it hard to do activitites to suit a 7 year old and a 1 year old tbh!
JKS sorry to hear about H nods not really what you hoped for i guess ? Will they change again ?
LAT i think the family time sounds great , sorry to hear your brother not helping though i wonder if he will regret being like that when your dad isn't here anymore . My sis was 16 when my mum died , typical off the rail teen and was a complete *** when my mum ill. She bitterly regrets it everyday now!

Gingeme and Housemum have lovely holidays

Barristermum wow 2-3 M is still in 12 - 18 mth too!

Simps how you doing getting ready for school ? Got L pumps today , just need school shoes then done! Thankfully weather improved so dc's playing out more , guess J is too!

Nothing much to add , H in football tournament this weekend then off camping again next weekend with all the neighbours so planning for that!
Hope everyone esle well

Evening all

Well DH & T off to PIL for the night - BIL's birthday so DH is out with him & his mates for beer & curry tonight. H & I having a quiet night at home

G - all inclusive is good for no cooking! and no washing up lol! Hope the food is good.
T wears a hat brilliantly - i am a fab mum....err except H won't wear one for a second
Hope you are packed, or nearly anyway. and get a better night's sleep tonight.

Oh and i'm definitely pre-mental. in fact sometimes i think i'm just plain mental
had a nasty tiff with Dh yesterday:

simpson · 07/08/2009 21:20

JKS - sorry to hear about row with DH Enjoy your quiet night though

All good here, had lovely day today. Went to visit a friend whose DS will start school with J (they already know each other from nursery) There was great excitement though as they live on a boat

Went to a small festival in local park on way back too and got J an ice cream etc.

Both kids totally knackered tonight

Meeting Madmouse for lunch tom so looking forward to that

Gingeme · 07/08/2009 21:37

Evening ladies.
Sorry to hear your having DH trouble JKS . I am so niggly when I am pre mental too. Things that wouldnt usualy bother me gets on my every nerve I was hoping for an early period but no . I bet it comes on Sunday
Yes all packed now. DH weighed the cases on the wii last night. Were ok.
Wow Simpson sounds like youve had a very satisfying day
Ive had a brill day too. We all went to playgroup this morning. The one we usualy go to on a Friday. All of us bought food too so we had a sort of pic nic. Which was great because when George and Edward had their naps they had full tummies
Then this afternoon I scrubbed my bathroom, sorted my kitchen drawers, de scaled my taps etc etc. Very satisfying. To top it all DH came home early just in time to do bed time
Now hes down the pub, the bpys are sleeping and I'm here with a cold glass of milk and a cut up Snickers from the fridge x

LaTrucha · 08/08/2009 13:59

JKS - sorted the row yet?? Hope so as sun is shining!

Simpson - hope you had fun with Madmouse.

Madmouse - hope you had fun with Simpson!

Gingeme - sounds liek an acce day. I lov eit when DH comes home early, especially if he lends a hand!

Lily - I think he will regret it bitterly but I don;t think there's any way to make him see it now.

DB saga continues. Tired, tired of it. I feel like ringing him and saying, 'You either stop drinking or you die.' Which he knows is the truth but keeps trying to get anyone and everyone involved to 'rescue' him. It just has to be him.

Sabela's game today is running around in circles laughing her head off until she falls on her bum. Very cute. She can now also get up to standing without holding anything. Very pleased.

Gingeme · 08/08/2009 14:12

LaT its amazing what simple things amuse them isn't it ?I now have everything ready for tomorrow. Just last bits like empty the bin and put toothbrushes in the small case and that in the morning.
Feeling a bit nervous now too.
Doesn't help being pre mental either

JustKeepSwimming · 08/08/2009 14:54

Gingeme - all excited for you now! Hope the pre-mental thing doesn't cause stress at the airport (rescue remedy handy?!)

LaT - that sounds cute and grr re DB!!!

Simps & Madmouse - hope you had a lovely lunch

DH & T just back, going to send DH to bed with Day Nurse and maybe pop out somewhere with T, (H asleep) may try and have a chat with him later with no distractions running around. We're fine, it's just so many things piling on top of each other at the mo, and normally we'd have had a discussion straight after to sort things out but with house guests & him going away it hasn't happened.
More house guests tomorrow so better clear the air before then!

right, off to send swooning ill husband to bed.!

Gingeme · 08/08/2009 21:45

Well ladies I bid you all farewell. I hope you won't miss me too much
Take good care of yourselves and those gorgeous children. xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 09/08/2009 08:10

Gingeme - have a fab time all of you, don't stress, just enjoy & looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back

Have cleared the air, everyone apologised, all OK here

DH now ill - i had tonsilitis according to Doc (& me) but DH had his tonsils out ages ago - so shouldn't get it right? except he has the same as i had.

he's convinced he has Swine Flu
i explained my 2 very hot & sleepless nights as to do with AF & hot weather. He thinks he has a temp.
Is this just typical male man-flu or SF?
And anyway is there any point getting Tamiflu (which will involve me going on a long drive to other side of town) when I read it only shortens the symptoms by 1 day anyway?
And should our guests come - as he went to stay with them on Fri anyway?

H happy this morning

LaTrucha · 09/08/2009 16:07

If he has swine flu, I would say the tamiflu is worth taking. We did seem to see about a degree reduction in our temperatures for every pill we took. Having said that, it causes nausea and we couldn't get Sabela to keep it down. She was ill for significantly longer and did get a follow-up bacterial cough.

Tamiflu is very strong and has strong side effects, including nausea.

Having said that, it doesn't sound to me like he has swine flu. Ours came in very suddenly - I'm talking ok at 4 o'clock, in bed with raging temperature at 6. Defining symptoms seem to be: sudden onset of cough and high fever, aching. You definitely have to be in bed, without a doubt. If it is this, you shouldn't have guests. Everyone in our house got it relatively badly.

Although, don't panic. For us it was much milder than other flus we've had.

Gingeme - happy holidays!

simpson · 10/08/2009 12:05

JKS - how is your DH now?

LaT - SF sounds horrible

Well M has her first dentist appt today

I have never taken DCs to dentist before as that was always H's job

Lilyloo - are you camping again??

LaTrucha · 10/08/2009 13:31

It's really not that bad Simpson, as flu goes.

simpson · 10/08/2009 20:26

Hi all

How is everyone today?

well DCs had dentist appt which was funny as M made the dentist burst out laughing as she flashed her Pingo pants while sitting in chair

M looked very pleased with herself in the chair and the dentist was putting it up/down etc.

However the bad news is that the dentist reckons M's teeth will be a lot weaker due to lack of calcium

J was all ok although dentist thinks his adult front tooth my come through discoloured due to trauma of when he knocked out baby tooth.

J very excited as his best friend is coming here for play date tom. It could either backfire and I have 3 kids to look after or be a success and keep J occupied

madmouse · 11/08/2009 12:25

Hi all

Simpson hope playdate is pulling off.

LaT would like to see more of you - just see how you are!

Hope Ginge is having great time

Have some news here: Had phonecall from psychotherapist who saw me for assessment in June, she has pulled me out of counselling waiting list as it was taking too long and has taken me on herself instead. Have appointment Friday week.

Work has not been going well as I cannot cope with stress or pressure and light duties have not worked so boss has proposed three month sabbatical. Have talked it through with dh and friends and seems all round good idea so will be starting that asap to give space for counselling. have big plans to write things and maybe learn language.

LaTrucha · 11/08/2009 13:34

HI all,

Thanks Madmouse. I'm really pleased about the counselling and that work seem to be being understanding. Maybe you shouldn't fill up all the time and just let things happen. Maybe a trip to Aberystwyth

Simpson - can I ask a silly question? If M is wearing pants, are you potty training her? Or is it just to cover nappies?

Well, DB seems to be trying something to help himself, so maybe he's getting the message. I had a phone call with my other brother - the one I usually find hmmm... put it gently .. irritating... - and he didn't annoy me at all! So that's good. Dad still being tortured over the phone though.

Sabela seems to be showing a lot of signs of being ready for a potty like pointing to her nappy when I say pee pee (and including tearing of bits of toilet paper to wipe mummy's bottom when she has a wee ) so I've ordered a couple and we might just have them around the place for a while and then give it a whirl.

Any advice from you experienced ones out there? And do training pants really cost up to five pounds a pair?

simpson · 11/08/2009 14:10

madmouse - is fab news on the councilling. Also glad you can take some time off to deal with it all.

LaT - no not potty training although if M's poos were not so horrid (too soft sorry TMI) I might think about it as she says "wee wee" and sometimes says "poo" just before she does one iyswim.

The pants are because she has seen J wear some and insists on wearing them, bringing them to me saying "on" they are all boy pants on over girlie clothes iyswim. Most funny!!

On the training pants thing...yes they are lots of money but don't think they are worth it as the child still feels like they have a nappy on as they are quite thick iyswim.

Think Lucky has tried A on potty a few times and lets her run round bare bummed

simpson · 11/08/2009 14:12

LaT - forgot to say on the brother front.

My house is currently being trashed by 2 four (ok J nearly 4) yr olds and M not happy as she wants to join in

Going to the shop in a bit to buy ice creams...

Lilyloo · 11/08/2009 15:49

Hey all not camping until Friday just little me time with 3 at home.
Had lovely teo hours to myself at hairdresser this am though!
Great news MM
better run H and L arguing again
