Ceebee74 · 17/06/2009 21:26

In hindsight, I wish we had gone for a 15 month age gap - I have a friend who has that and she said it was very hard for the first year and then it is so much easier as the children are vry close and it gets all the 'baby' stuff over and done with quicker (unless you have another of course )

How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

PinkyMinxy · 17/06/2009 21:27

Oh no it's fab. You will still be knee deep in nappies with number one so it makes no odds. Watching my three play together is so lovely . DD1 and DS were building towers for mimi to knock down this evening- she was loving it!

PinkyMinxy · 17/06/2009 21:28

lol love the x-posts with me and Daisy there- don't listen to her, Phee, she loves the small age gap really

phee96 · 17/06/2009 21:35

That was kind of our logic about a small age gap.

Lol at Daisy, how big is that raincoat?

Not really got any symptoms, just very very tired but I put that down to this cold we've all had (DH went to bed at 7pm on Friday and didn't get up for 12 hours).

Speaking of DH, he's back and he's brought me some tea. I'll try to pop back on later but it may be tomorrow so sorry if I miss anything

LackaDAISYcal · 17/06/2009 21:43

Oh, I do, I do really

I can see it paying dividends now as bumble wants to get more involved in playing and I can get DD to keep passing him toys, leaving me free to mumsnet do other things

15 months though

LackaDAISYcal · 17/06/2009 21:44

tis a very big raincoat phee.....big enough to hide a few double buggies

chocolategal · 17/06/2009 21:47

congratulaions phee i missed that in your post too! Clever pinky!
I have to say im a teeny bit jealous! I think if DS was sleeping better we would try again quickly too but just now the thought of being pg and up silly amount of times overnight is putting me off!

Hope you are feeling ok and being looked after (sounds like you are!) Really lovely news

Bumble in bed daisy? I kept E up until 10mins ago tonight, might as well try something different! We were up 3 times last night and up at 5am for the day! Yawn.

Right, off to look for codes for my tesco shop

cricri · 17/06/2009 21:49

Congratulations Phee Wow, our first November 2008 BFP! Now, who's going to be next... Not me for sure - one is quite enough at the moment!
Daisy I made the mistake of reading GF's routines last week. E only manages a maximum of 2 hours sleep during the day and according to Twinkling's book, they're snoozes rather than naps (30 mins max). I don't know how to get her to sleep for longer as she pings wide awake after a sleep and won't go back off. Still, I shouldn't complain as she's been asleep since 7pm and I haven't had to re-settle her tonight. Shame she seems to like waking at 6am atm but I guess I shouldn't complain.
Hope Bumble goes to sleep soon, and hope the other sleep-deprived mummies have a better night tonight.

sparkletoes · 17/06/2009 22:18

Evening all,

Firstly congrats Phee I just knew someone had to get pg again soon!! SO glad I rejoined the thread in time for the news!! Lovely!

Have been desperately trying to catch up with you all but Tiny just got up at 10pm - let out a loud shriek and then started bawling.. am thinking that was a pain cry..!! So maybe teeth?? My friend thinks he has reflux as he sicked up a bit of banana this pm about 4ish which he ate at 11am . Am not sure about reflux tho.

Last night was not too bad with us too Twinkling the separate rooms seemed to work well (kinda as I feared tho!).
Am thinking that maybe the key to all this is finding out why he is in pain at this time of night.. anyone have any ideas??!

He did wake up at 11ish last night and DH got him back to sleep, wasn't up again til about 4ish then fed to sleep then wide awake at 6:30. I did leave him to sleep in my bed tho as DH was on sofa and I was knackered after Mon night.

Sorry this has turned into bit of a me post will shut up now... any ideas tho will be gratefully received on this one!

Hope we all have good nights..

barbareebaa · 17/06/2009 22:53

Woohoo! Congrats Phee!! That's great news!!!!

On a similar note my best friend had a little boy at 2am this morning. Both doing well. Can't wait to talk to her

Glad you had a better night Sparkle - sorry not sure about Tiny's pain -hope you get to the bottom of it.

W was also tap dancing til late tonight. decided to feed him to sleep in my bed then snuck out. seems to be working so far....

vbab78 · 17/06/2009 23:19

Going to bed now that I sorted everything for DS 3rd b'day tomorrow and put balloons and banners everywhere including the inside of his bedroom door . Also been sorting DH suit and even polished his shoes for a job interview tomorrow. Even though DH interview on DS b'day it is at 9am so shouldnt eat into the day. It is with the NHS doing training about 5 mins drive from where we live. fingers crossed.

Must say though phee massive congrats . Slightly but daft really as we have decided 2 is enough but in mourning for the thoughts/feelings of being pregnant, the high of having your babe in your arms the 1st time and having a babe to cuddle. A and DS of course will always be my babes but just growing up so quick. No plans to have more babes here but once over the would be over the moon. Just looked at your profile and I dont think you live far from me. I live Rotherham way.

twinklingfairy · 17/06/2009 23:19

cricri my book is telling me to shoosh him to sleep when he wakes from short snoozes and it has worked twice today yey! You gotta run though before he really wakes up.
I had to send DD from the room today so that I could manage it. One glimpse of her and he would have been, ping, wide awake!
Poor DD, her wee face just fell when I motioned that she was to leave. But I explained afterwards and when I did she really didn't seem that bothered afterall.

sparkly? as you feared?
Oh, I think I get it, you said that one was to go in the office? So, if they like seperate rooms, you don't have enough?
Me too.

Though this whole shooshing him back to sleep, then waiting until he is nearly asleep and nicking his dummy, is sooo much easier lying down than it would be if I had to squat, or whatever next to a cot

It worked again tonight! He tried a call ot for a feed at 1030, but I managed to get him to sleep instead! whoopee!!

phee I am sure the small age gap will be fine, stressful to begin with, but then again, it will be all you know so it won't be that hard IYSWIM
I wanted a smaller gap between my 2 but naure just didn't let it happen that way. As it stands I love my 2yrs1month gap. DD is the same as daisys old enough to give J toys or replace dummies. There have been the odd occasions where she has settled him where I couldn't!!

Why are my posts always so huuuge

PinkyMinxy · 17/06/2009 23:30

well done with the shooshing, Twinks

vbab hope you and you little boy have a lovely day tomorrow

vbab78 · 18/06/2009 06:08

Morning all. Was up at 5am with Alyssa . Sort of expected it though as she missed a feed yesterday. Must go feeding time at the zoo (Alyssa ). Waiting for DS to get up now. DH getting ready for his interview at 9am. Then after DH interview off to Twycross hopefully. Laters.

tegan · 18/06/2009 07:36

Good morning all.

phee CONGRATULATIONS you will have such a lovely age gap, hope you feel ok as i am knackered having my 3 dc's without being pg.

O had a restless night as did dd2, she has a temp and sore throat, but mainly tiredness is creeping in as summer hols are on there way.

I have had a major clear out of cloth nappies so wil be spending my day in pj's with O and dd2 ebaying (hopefully) as long as dd2 will let me leave her side for 2 mins.

Oblomov · 18/06/2009 07:48

Morning.
Congratulations Phee. I am so excited for you. I mean really excited. This is FANTASTIC.
I have no experience of small age gaps, but agree with others. IT will be hard at first, but easier in the long run.
Can we have a running commentary Phee? Can we all come along on the 'ride' ? God, I really miss our AN thread. All our 'developments' and quibbles and quabbles, as we went along on the 'ride'. I have very happy memeories of that, as a 'thread'.

juanitad · 18/06/2009 07:57

Oh phee, what lovely news!! I think a 15-month age gap sounds fab, your DCs will be such good friends and have so much fun playing together. I am v broody at the moment, in fact I have been since P was about 4 weeks, but I won't be the next BFP unfortunately, we are probably going for a 3-year age gap. DH wasn't keen on any age gap at all, quite happy to stick with one, but after a bit heart to heart we have reached a compromise we are both happy with - a slightly bigger age gap and we will move back to near both sets of parents so we have some extra help! But I am so pleased for you phee, and really keen to hear how your pregnancy goes. Hope you stay well.

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2009 08:38

Congratulations Phee thats fantastic news!

Sorry to hear from you still sleep deprived ladies it must be so hard for you.

Ja doesn't like sleeping in the day but fortunately it doesn't seem to affect his night sleep.

He sleeps sideways with his feet up the side of the cot - so so cute!

Still no teeth either.

LOL at Obs happy memories of the 'thread'!

Ceebee74 · 18/06/2009 08:52

Morning all

Happy Birthday to Vbab's DS - I hope you all have a great day at the zoo (and your DH's interview goes well )

Sparks has Tiny always been in pain at night? It may be reflux but that is supposed to get better as they get older. No other ideas I am afraid!

Barbs congrats to your friend - W will have a lovely playmate now

Off into town today to try and find something for Fathers Day - why are men so hard to buy presents for???

Am knackered! For the second morning in a row, DS1 has decided that 6am is a good time to start the day (even though the Hamster is still fast asleep!) - I know it is not much in comparison to those of you who aren't getting much sleep at all but I am beginning to dread the sound of DS1's footsteps on the landing

chocolategal · 18/06/2009 09:12

Morning

vbab hope you all have a lovely day
tegan hope the sore throat for your DD doesnt come to anything, happy ebaying!
How was your night sparkle? LB how cute is J's sleeping, you will have to post a pic of that! I stand and watch my DS sleeping on his side.
Ah, fathers day ceebee i wanted to get something special since it was DH's first one but running out of time now. Let me know how you get on.
I agree with obs it wouldnt be the same on another AN thread, if i do become pg again think i will just stick with you ladies

well..............put DS to bed later last night (9.15pm) and he slept until 5.50! That is a HUGE improvement. Might be a one off but hey im enjoying it anyway! He also has another little tooth this morning

Right off to shower before he wakes up.

ChocOrange05 · 18/06/2009 09:15

CONGRATS phee!!!!! Thats funny because I was just thinking yesterday, I wonder when one of us lot will get pregnant! 15 months - wow!

twinklingfairy · 18/06/2009 10:40

chocgal Wow! That is heaps f sleep! moi?
Totally!!
I think I fell down on the job last night, but it was the dead of night and I can't be sure, but I think I gave J his dummy and left him with it. Oops.
Surley if you fall down on the job it means you take steps backwards?
I also have no idea how many times I was up.
I think I saw 1230 230 450 and he was up at 645, but hey that is a vast improvement on the norm. Still only a couple of hours slid sleep though.
Och well, I won't beat myself up, I just put him down for his nap and no dummy. So I am a good girl really.

ceebee I am right there with you. Dreading those wee footsteps and the ominous opening of the door, which can take her a bit of time Much needed seconds!

Fathers day? I think DH and my own dad will be lucky if they get a homemade card from DD
I do think it is a carlton card day. A phone call to acknowledge my love is all I give to my daddy. DH will get to dictate the day (grand prix) he is happy with that. I am too on mothers day.

twinklingfairy · 18/06/2009 10:42

solid sleep, not slid sleep.

fathers adys addition: That is not to say that you all can't buy the pressies, espesh for the first time daddies, they defo deserve something

twinklingfairy · 18/06/2009 10:43

Bums. twink! At least check your typing before posting!
Sooo many typos!!

sparkletoes · 18/06/2009 11:05

Morning all!

Well last night was not too bad (massive relief), Tinytoes was up at 10pm ish and DH got him back to sleep. Then up again at 4am.. I fed him which is annoying but I was feeling 'full' and it is just soo easy it is difficult to stop.

Anyway I put him back in the travel cot in the office (yes "Twinks* no more usuable bedrooms as the 3rd is an office) and left him, he started groaning (not crying) so left him for 5 mins-ish and went in to settle him. He was biting down on his hand so I got the bonjela and..... another tooth! On the top this time. So at least I know why he has been up!!

I had thought I was making excuses each time but there you go it was teething after all.

Glad your shooshing working Twinks never know we may have a breakthrough here!!! (hope so) I would never have been able to do that last night if they were in same room tho...

Ok so enough about me how is everyone this am?

I forgot to say last night, I noticed PinkyMinxy's post about her mum.. what is going on there lovie is all ok? If I have missed a whole story here then apologies but just want you to know am thinking of you. Mums can be a difficult one (I know)...

Ok will catch up now.. waves to all.
