its supposed to be sports day this afternoon, but it looks like Katy is sending that rain back my way which I would actually be very grateful for as dh can't make it and ds1 will be devastated

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2009 12:35

oh no Dippy Keep us informed.
oooggs - done my best, can you do a rain dance maybe?

Morning ladies Belated birthday wishes to SOL and Dippy xx

Dooby, the golf sounds great with ds1, another Tiger Woods in the making! My ds likes to go to golf with my dad but I have never seen him play and he has been going since he was 3!

SOL, glad you had a good night out with the girls. If you are anything like me then 3 gins would have been enough to make you merry anyway! I cannot drink like I used to

Dippy, so very sorry to read your news. Sending prayers and love their way at such a terribly sad time xxx

ScarletBandit · 13/07/2009 13:27

Slightly behind today, should have been afternoon ladies

Doobydoo · 13/07/2009 16:54

Hi All.
Off to my Grandad's memorial party on Saturday, without dp and me boys...will feel v weird. The 1st and last time I was away was when I visited my Grandad in October when we were in Ireland. That was the 1st time I had been away from ds1 who is nearly 10!
Thinking of you all Dippy and I know you will find the words/actions for your SIL.and her partner ..because I feel that is how you are if you know what I mean. When my daughter was born early people always used to question my then partner as if he was not a part of it all which is very odd I think[when I was in Hospital]
xx

elkiedee · 13/07/2009 22:26

Sorry to hear of your SIL and her DH

CaptainDippy · 13/07/2009 22:39

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts - what Dooby said was especially resonant for me, appreciated SIL is home from hospital now. They held their little boy for four hours after he was born and then they had to give him back Just completely agonising. The anguish they must be feeling. The hurt. The pain. The anger. The sadness. Such a void. Emptiness. Sorry. Just trying to make sense of it all. So glad my beautiful nephew is with Jesus now. Resting safely in His arms That image gives me hope.

StealthPolarBear · 14/07/2009 09:01

Oh Dippy

Dippy, I really hope that you are ok today, the anguish in your post was all too obvious. I don't think there is ever real sense in such a situation, but I know that you will be there for your family when they need you with perfect words of comfort.
Sending lots of love to you all xxx

CaptainDippy · 14/07/2009 15:52

Thank you.

Northernlurker · 14/07/2009 18:31

Dippy - am so sorry to read about their loss, the loss for you all. Your nephew is home now and that is the only thing we have in a situation like this. It's not we want, it's not fair and the change from having plans and everything being open and exciting and new is so sudden - but he is home.

How is dh and the in laws? So hard for you all to deal with this

Doobydoo · 14/07/2009 19:25

Hi all,Hope everyone doing ok>

Hope everyone's ok with this but in light of dippy's awful news and the fact that we're nearly at 500 messages i thought i'd start a new thread:
