Oooggs, C has been suffering with his teeth for a few weeks - two are through and I can't see the next ones yet but I'm sure they're on their way judging from the way that he grizzles.

ScarletBandit · 08/07/2009 12:02

Hello ladies!

SOL, thanks for thinking of me. My dog is ok atm, the lump he had removed has turned out to be benign so I am really relieved
On the down side, the vet took some blood from him before his anaesthetic which has shown up a potential liver complaint. He had repeat bloods done on Monday and they have called me this morning to say they look the same.
He now needs to have more blood tests which mean he has to stay in the vet's for one whole day for them to take blood samples at different times of the day. He may or may not need treatment, so I will just have to wait and see. He is well just now, so I am happy to just plod on and see what happens.
Why is nothing ever simple?!
The only good thing is that he is insured so I can claim all my vet bills back!

And SOL, I can only echo the words which CD put so eloquently. It certainly sounds like a case of one copying the other to me. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I am sure the teachers have had to deal with far worse things than that, although I totally understand your embarassment.

Oooggs, hope the pill does the job and makes you feel a little more on an even keel iykwim. You are doing a grand job, I wouldn't even want to imagine my mood if I had to look after 4 children every day. I can be a bit of a banshee at times, and I have half the number of children that you have!

Runny, hope your eyes are a bit better today xx

Hi to Octo and WaspElly, fab to see you both

And Ffion is neither in a bed nor potty trained. I was thinking about putting her in a bed, but she sleeps so well in her cot that I am not desperate to change things!
She has managed a couple of wees on the potty, but is definitely not ready to go the full hog yet.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing ok. Things are quite calm in my household just now. Dh and I came very close to breaking point a couple of weeks ago, but we have sorted things out a bit and everything seems to have settled.

And lastly, I have hauled my lardy arse back to weight watchers. I lost three stone last year and have gradually put back on one of them. I do not want to go back to the really large person I was, so have taken myself in hand again! I really want to get the stone back off, and another one would be nice too. I have big hips and will never be a skinny girl, but a bit smaller would be nice

Doobydoo · 08/07/2009 21:08

Hello
Runny,,,really hope things ok your end...it does sound positive with J and I am glad he enjoys his sessions.
SOL,Totally agree with Dippy and Bramshott they talk sense I reckon, this other girl must have issues.
Scarlet,,so pleased re your dog, they really are a memeber of the family aren't they.?
OOOggs I hope it works for you I think you do a tremendous job I really do.
Meant to do a longer post but got distracted by family phonecalls it has all kicked off re my grandads executors and probate and a party we were sposed to be havving!
Ds1 got fab school report we are so please as he has had to put up/still is abit with stupid thick bullies.
Today when one vile child who picks on him consistently kept knocking his hat off and calling him a weakling ds1 said'why am I a weakling.I want to thump you,I could easily thump you but I choose not to why does that make me a weakling?'I am so proud of ds1 he seems to be maturing and the other boy just gibbered weakling.I am also sick of thinking well oh dear the other child or children must be unhappy blah,blah..I have seen the mother of one of the boys who calls ds1 a retard on aregular basis and am sure she would be mortified if she knew.We have said to ds1 that home ed is an option but we are glad he has stucck it out with our support, his inner resources and a fab form teachers help...this is a Church of England School with a 'caring'ethos.I loathe the whole thing TBH.
i HAVE MY NURSEY PLACEMENT AND HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED ON THE COURSE AND MAY HAVE A JOB IN PIPELINE ON NEONATAL UNIT!
Hi to all sorry for lack of personals and whinge .
Hope all well.xx

Dooby. FAB NEWS!!!!!

All ok here. Just been to Body Combat for the first time in ages and loved it!
Also gave dh the opportunity to have both girls at bath/bed time. K has been rejecting dh which is awful, so tonight she had no choice. Seemingly she was quite stressed but B was great apparently and really brought her round bless her.

Hope everyone is ok; where are you all!!!!!

just incase anyone wants Milkshake live tickets, see this thread ds loves Milkshake atm

lol

oooggs · 09/07/2009 21:21

fantastic news dooby

sol - bless B - how lovely

busy, busy, busy - ds2 is missing dh - who is here - but not when Jack is. For example, we went to toddler tuesday lunchtime and when we got back dh had gone to work. Took then to nursery wednesday morning while dh was asleep, when they came home he had gone to work, same today and they won't see him until tomorrow morning. This happens fortnightly and has done for over a year, but this morning Jack was very upset about it. Erin just said 'Daddy at work' shrugged her shoulders and basically told him to pull himself together. Poor little man.

CaptainDippy · 09/07/2009 21:51

All so different aren't they oooggs - Jack will have his daddy back soon

Congratulations Dooby - great stuff and yey to your DS too - what a star!

All ok here, compeltely shattered and off to bed now ...

Doobydoo · 09/07/2009 22:06

Thankyou ladiesSorry Oooggs that must be so hard
Watched Torchwood...feel rather traumatised!
Hope you all get a good nights sleep Dippy.
aND NIGHT TO EVERYONE ELSE[SMILE]

Awwww Oooggs poor Jack and you, that sounds tough - hope they get some nice time together when they are around at the same time.

oooggs · 10/07/2009 20:41

Jack was sobbing at 1.30am for Daddy, so I brought him into our bed (dh was home by then and asleep)and then spent the rest of the night removing Jacks foot from under my chin .

Luke woke at 5.30am (which is fantastic) and woke Jack (not so fantastic) and that is when my day started.

Good news - ds1 had his reception class report from school and it couldn't be better I am shellshocked and delighted. He is reading the same books as years 3&4 and it at least 2 books ahead of his closest peers.

We am so proud, I rang dh at work and read it to him.

Sorry to be so self absorbed

elkiedee · 10/07/2009 22:35

At least you're posting, where have we all got to?

D is a real daddy's boy too.

StealthPolarBear · 11/07/2009 07:37

Hi everyone
Sorry to hear about your early start oooggs, but at J's report!
Not got anything planned for today and at a bit of a loss...need to do something or T will go crazy (or end up watching 6 hours of CBeebies)

There is a fab farm place near you - called down on the farm near Houghton?

StealthPolarBear · 11/07/2009 07:55

Want to go to two local farms but DH is being over-protective about lambs. Lambs will be over now, won;t they - might have another go at persuading him!
Thanks for the idea - I'd love to see T's reaction to the animals

Morning ladies

Oooggs, lovely to hear about J's report. We had ds's parents evening on Wednesday and he is doing well too. It is such a relief to know that they are doing fine isn't it!

Dooby, fab news about the course and the job. I have an agency shift booked for neonates tomorrow, not an area I work in very often, but it is lovely if rather busy and stressful at times

Not much happening here. Ds has just one week left in school before the holidays and he can't wait!
F has had a viral thing this week which has left her with a chest infection. She is on antibiotics and seems ok today so that is good.
Weather pants, it is pouring with rain here. Typical, since it is the local outdoor show this weekend.

Right, off now, have a good weekend all xx

runnyhabbit · 11/07/2009 10:09

Morning all

SB - we were going the the show, but dh has informed me that its the Food and Drink Festival in the Bay, so we are going to that tomorrrow instead. Dh will be driving, as I will might be drinking

We have finally had a full nights sleep, yay. And everyone is such a better mood for it. W has been very trying lately - but only with me Think its because we haven't had much time together lately, so am working on a plan to rectify matters - but will depend on work. (which is pants atm)

Oooggs - great news about J report And feel for you with ds2 being a daddys boy. J was just the same, and its heartbreaking

Dooby - fab news

Have a lovely day all (whatever the weather, lol)

Sexonlegs · 11/07/2009 10:18

Morning all.

Oooggs, bless little J It is hard for them isn't it; they don't understand. Great news re J's school report

SPB, you will be fine at the farm. I think they just suggest you don't feed the lambs/goats if you are pregnant at our local play-farm.

Hi GM, how are the wedding plans?? Any word from WO or Liath?

SB, poor F There seems to be viruses all over the place. Chicken pox is doing the rounds at nursery. Also K sounded as if she was a bit croupy this morning. B suffers with croup, and I was hoping K would be free of it

We had B's school report too. Seems she has really come on this year and is either average or above average in the core subjects. We don't have a parents' evening this term which is a shame, as the report was mis-leading. I had to come on MN to be able to understand the teacher assessments, and what they meant!

Pants weather here too. To top it off, the in-laws have invited themselves over for the afternoon. I really do not want to see them. I am in a strange mood atm; just want to keep myself to myself. Saying that, am out tonight for a hen do, and cannot bloody wait!!!!

Hope everyone is ok; lots of people mia - NL, Leaky etc etc.

geordieminx · 11/07/2009 10:20

Down on the farm can only be about 15 mins - from you SPB IMO better than Houghhall and Hall Hill - they have huge pic trampolines build into the ground so no falling.

You will be fine with animals - although I would stay away from lambing sheds

elkiedee · 11/07/2009 11:12

SPB hope you get to a farm - we took D to a city farm several times when I was pregnant with C - unfortunately they keep closing the very useful train route to get there at weekends to do work on the line, and the other farm is on a bus route that runs parallel to the tube, and they also keep closing the nearest tube line at weekends.

D and C have been invited to a cousin's 5th birthday party this afternoon - the little boy's mum is my dad's cousin but she's actually younger than me and I've been talking to her on Facebook for a while and hoping to get to meet up this summer. We'll probably also meet again at another cousin's wedding in a couple of weeks. All quite exciting!

I've seen NL post recently (was it in feeding threads?), but hope everyone is ok.
