Just looking at your farms pics Holly, you're DC's are v cute

Ohforfoxsake · 17/06/2009 21:51

Hey Holly

been away for a few days.

Geckos are quite cute aren't they? wee little reptilian things. DS told me he wants a lizard as a pet, because you only have to clean them out 3 times a year he reckons. It's still not going to happen.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 21:51

Thanks, they are quite cute really, except for ds right at this very second! He is wide awake and playing with tractors across the keyboard !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 21:53

My sister had a Gecko, it was called Tubs (as in The League of Gentlemen). It was a bit of a PITA with the heated mats and stuff. I want to get my dcs a rat, but dp says no .

Sputnik · 17/06/2009 21:58

I am so over pets!

LittleMissNorty · 17/06/2009 21:58

couldn't you just pick it up and chuck it out the window Sputnik?

LackaDAISYcal · 17/06/2009 22:00

holly, I'm beginning to think bumble is made of the same stuff as your DS.....he didn't go to bed until 9 tonight.

I moved his cot into DD's room today so the first night of them in together properly....DD was screeching at the top of her lungs until half eight so I had to go and get bumble out of bed as she had woken hom up and he sat on the floor and watched Masterchef. It isn't looking like a great plan so far . She is cointained though, back in the cot; I took her toddler bed apart today as we are fed up of her not staying in bed and falling asleep on the floor right behind the door making it impossible for us to get in the room!

Aaaaargh, how do I do this? I have a thread in sleep if anyone has any suggestions!

hey foxy, where ya been lovely? somewhere nice? or Manc?

OP posts:
Sputnik · 17/06/2009 22:01

Well I don't mind them but they are very scuttley, and I'd be afraid of squashing it. In fact letting it climb out was not ideal reall as it'll be roamong the house unless it finds a door open somewhere.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 22:06

Pah! 9 o'clock? My ds laughs in the face of 9o'clock! I really need to start a sleep thread. I can't handle it any more. I can't even take him into his bedroom without him turning into swivel headed Damien boy! It sounds like he is possessed with the noises that come out of his mouth! He can also climb over stairgates, so I have no way of keeping him in his bedroom. I have no other way of getting him to sleep except for feeding him. It is rather tiring!

Sputnik · 17/06/2009 22:28

Right, I have just loaded some new pics of my DCs onto Facebook, so you can all tell me how adorable they are

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 22:34

They are gorgeous, well done for producing such beautiful offspring! Lovely house too!

Sputnik · 17/06/2009 22:36

I hope you noticed DS's dimples

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 22:38

I noticed how tall he is! Are you tall? He looks about twice the height of my ds!

Sputnik · 17/06/2009 22:45

He is the height and weight of a 3 year old apparently. DD was the same and still is (not 3 yo, 1 year bigger than she is IYSWIM).
I'm only 5 7 but DH is fairly tall.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 17/06/2009 22:50

My ds is on the 98th centile for height and the 50th for weight! Lanky streak of piss!

Goodnight, I have to go to bed now. Ds is still up and I really need him to go to sleep before I start yelling at him!

xxx

LackaDAISYcal · 17/06/2009 22:50

I did see the dimples Sputnik.....he is gorgeous and Dd is very pretty

holly I had a look your farm photos as well; your DC are gorgeous too.

Haven't we all produced lovely (well to look at anyway in my case ) children?

Oh, I had a word with DS1's teacher tonight. Apparently he is a kind and thoughful child who is happy and well mannered if a bit dreamy. He is the child others want to play with if they are feeling a bit left out and he plays happily and considerately most of the time.......I'm not sure she was describing the right child . We have come up with some strategies for tackling the thorny homework issue though which is a help.

And my big Sis PHSL when I told her as apparently I was exactly the same at that age; an angel at school and the devil incarnate at home. This is what's known as getting my comeuppance

not even in heels do I reach those lofty heights

night all.

Sputnik · 17/06/2009 22:53

We have indeed Daisy.
And your DD is the spitting image of you btw

Rialentless · 17/06/2009 23:12

my children too laugh in the face of 9 o'clock.

The only thing about ill children sleeping during the day is that they won't bloody sleep at night. DS2 is questioning me (no one expects the spanish inquisition)

TheNatty · 18/06/2009 08:05

ditto at the 5'7" id need alotta phone books to reach that height!!

morning all, looks like you were all rather chatty last night, i was watching hairspray

anyone elses DC started the 'why' stuff? i got thomas AND ellen doing it at the same time..

Rialentless · 18/06/2009 08:24

morning

DS2 did not go to sleep until after 1am

LittleMissNorty · 18/06/2009 08:50

Morning all

I remember now why I would be unable to live in any other country....the insects and reptiles . I think I would have taped the bottom of the bathroom door!

Hope DS2 is feeling better today Ria

I'm also about 5 7".....I'm only 5 1" (high and wide)

Got a friend coming for lunch and my house looks like a shithole.....better get on then!

Sputnik · 18/06/2009 10:00

Oh yes, "why"
My favourite word. One day I will count how many times DD uses it in a day, sometimes it's about 10 in the space of a minute.

LackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2009 13:03

Not just Why here.....we get a lot of Who, What, Where, and When as well and the endlessly repeating conversations. Last week after our nieghbour had been round to quote for the bathroom and her wee pal had chewed one of her new bath toys

DD.....A is going to fix the bath.
Me.....well he's going to put in a new bath.
DD.....new toilet?
Me....yes, and a new toilet.
DD....A is going to fix the bath.
Me..... Yes DD
DD.....T ate the bath toy
Me.....No, he only chewed it.
DD.....T chewed the horse.
Me.....Yes DD
DD....horse goes in the bath. A is going to fix the bath

repeat ad nauseum until Daisy is banging her head off the wall.

Anyhoo.......A freind sent me this on email earlier so I thought I'd share; 'tis very very funny.

What do you do all day??

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and 20 wrappers strewn all around the front yard.
The door of his wife's car was open, and so was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the hall, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'
