Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Morning all ,it's the holidays!!!! A whole week off work, hooray!
Tilly I love all your names. I prefer Barney to Rufus. We had friends staying here last weekend and they have a barney but his full name is Barnabas. I like all your girls ones, Florence is very cool as are the shortened versions!
We haven't got a lot planned this week but we are off to my parents on Sunday until Tuesday. I'm finally getting my hair cut on Tuesday as the only salon I've found that I love and trust is in my home town! I was clearing out in my classroom last night and I found a class photo from last March before i started my diet. It made me feel brilliant becuase I look huge. I showed it to a few friends and they were all really shocked, saying they never remember me being that big. I think when you put weight on gradually people don't really notice. It made all that hard work fell really worth it. I was shocked at how big I looked, it shows what a difference 2.5 stone can make.

Lupins71 · 23/05/2009 08:02

Abby 2.5st is brilliant, dp lost that but put it back on again and he looked quite nice for a while lol! I would love to loose a stone but I dont eat regular meal, am far too addicted to sweet things, and because i eat differant to the rest of the family - i dont eat meat, i can be bothered to cook yet another meal

Have a lovely weekend all and hope all the kids have great half term,

Dd is a bit better today she has been reaching but hasnt got fever, still off her food, but seems to have a bit more colour

Suppose i had better go and finish the house friends eta 2-3hrs still got tons to do before house is acceptable

Oh god my demon son has woken up

Themasterandmargaritas · 23/05/2009 10:18

Dsis had her baby last night A baby girl, 7lb 10 and a successful VBAC. Her name is either Jasmine or Imogen. I am absolutely over the moon, tears a plent. Is it a bit wrong to feel ever so slightly that she managed a VBAC when I couldn't? In fact she didn't even know there was such a thing until I convinced her to give it a go. Anyhow, I am of course going to find it incredibly difficult to wait until July to see her.

Lups, glad dd is feeling better, poor her and you, all that vom, yeuk.

Abby enjoy your break. You are doing so well on the weight front I can't believe you have lost 2.5 stones that is amazing. In your pics on FB you look gorgeous no matter what size you are.

Dh is back from the US with new gadgets for me, a new Nano because my ancient old ipod mini got blasted by the rain and a new 'puter, a stylish MacBook no less.I haven't the foggiest how to use it so will have a good play around later when the boy is in bed.

April I hope you are back safe and sound without any more mishaps and Jack alive and well.

AprilMeadow · 23/05/2009 15:34

We're home

So another eventful airport lounge trip. Jack smashed his face and split both lips and had a bleeding nose. Poor little man he did look in pain.

Flight home was surprisingly good. J fell asleep after about 1hour and slept for at least 4hours and E managed about 4 hrs as well, meaning that Dh and i got about 3hrs each.

Fabulous Scoot!!!!!!!!!!

AprilMeadow · 24/05/2009 11:25

MrsJB and family will be here soon and the sun is shining - yay!!!!

MKG · 24/05/2009 15:17

LOL Scoot! Hope you're feeling good this morning.

AprilMeadow · 24/05/2009 16:14

How's your head today Scoot?

Had a lovely few hours with MrsJB. The children played in the garden and Jack and Maddie have definitely found their match in each other. Ella and Jorja got into a scrum over an Upsy Daisy toy - was funny to watch. Jaffa looks fab and sends her love to everyone.

We seem to have adjusted well to the time difference - thank god! E slept for 12.5hrs straight and has even gone down for her usual nap at the right time. J also slept for about 12hrs but did wake 4 times, not for long though.

Very excited as i have just bought the red/black P&T Vibe doubles buggy with cocoon and the Maxi-Cosi car seat. Mothercare had 10% off on orders over £100 and free delivery so they actually worked out the cheapest despite starting out as the more expensive Have decided that i want this cot and chest of drawers for the nursery. Decided on a cot this time as E will probably have outgrown her bed and be ready for a regular single bed by the time Lucy is done with the cot. Couldnt believe the price difference between cots and cotbeds, was nearly £200 . Have decided on this bedding set for the nursery as well. Now means i can locate curtains and other bits to finish it all off. The walls are magnolia and i didnt really want 2 pink bedrooms Will get the furniture nearer the time as i still need use of the room as a guest room until beginning of August.

Thought L was trying to break free last night, she was squirming and kicking/punching for about an hour and it was starting to get uncomfortable. I could see her making shapes on my tummy and i guess sticking her bum/back out. I will be the magic 24 weeks tomorrow and cant believe how quickly it seems to have gone, well since the sickness died off.

I hope everyone has had a lovely day in the sunshine

SKYTVADDICT · 24/05/2009 21:00

Have put the boys in a room together!! Can just squeeze sideways between their cots.

Wish us luck. Will post tomorrow on the outcome!

AprilMeadow · 24/05/2009 21:31

largeginandtonic · 25/05/2009 08:17

Themasterandmargaritas · 25/05/2009 12:06

Oooo MOTY, today is the day! Pics please! Have lots of fun. Thanks for the congrats, I am delighted that dd will have another little girl in the family. She is to be called Imogen.

at Scoot!

Tillyscoutsmum · 25/05/2009 18:40

Has Scoot surfaced yet ?? DId you see she had posted on a couple of the old threads as well ? Hope your head has recovered lovely

Congrats on your dn TMAM. Imogen is lovely

Glad you're back safe and sound AM. Bedding and buggy look great

CM, PJ - are you getting double buggies or not ?? Tilly mostly walks at the moment but I need spare hands to make sure she doesn't wander into the road. I'm hoping we can get away with re-using her buggy and maybe getting a buggy board for her, rather than getting a double buggy. What do you think ?

LG&T - hope you had a fab day today.

AprilMeadow · 26/05/2009 08:16

Happy birthday to the gorgeous Beau. I hope you have a fabulous day xxx

How did your picnic go? And most importantly...... how was the awards do? Need pics etc etc etc

Themasterandmargaritas · 26/05/2009 10:14

Happy Birthday Beau!

Pinkjenny · 26/05/2009 10:48

Tils - I think I'm going to get a buggy board with a seat attachment, which my pram guru suwoo assures me I can get for my Bug. L never goes in her pram any more, but I do think she would sit next to a baby in a double, just for the novelty factor. I am erring on the side of no, though.

Happy Birthday Beau.

I am feeling much more human today, sorry I have been awol, I have had my head in the toilet for a week.

One thing that this sickness has done is made me completely lose my nerve over having another. Dh and I are having lots of 'Have we thought this through?' conversations!

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/05/2009 12:38

Oooh - I need a pram guru. I have no idea what I can or can't have on our buggy

PJ - don't worry lovely... I think we all have those conversations/thoughts. I can't get my head round how it will all work logistically but millions have done it before us, so I'm sure we'll cope........somehow

Happy Birthday to Beau xx

Pinkjenny · 26/05/2009 12:41

Will LG&T appear soon to slap me around the head. Seven, seven???? It's a madness!

largeginandtonic · 26/05/2009 19:44

Get a grip woman it will only be two.

Anyway read my thread on MOTY

largeginandtonic · 26/05/2009 19:46
