Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Lovely to see you MKG, lol at the thought of unleashing the 3 onto someone else.

Fabulous news for Bob and your family.

Themasterandmargaritas · 19/05/2009 17:29

My dsis has just texted to say she has been admitted to hospital as her bp is up. She says she is having a lot of tightenings. It sounds like baby is on it's way, wish her luck. I feel quite teary.....

MKG · 19/05/2009 18:03

OHHH Good luck to her!! I hope all goes well.

twelveyeargap · 19/05/2009 20:06

Glad to hear it LG&T. I've come on especially to tell you about A doing something worthy of Hugs&Tonic.

She got into the children's toilet at playgroup this afternoon, then turned on every tap at the teeny tiny sinks and played in it until she was soaked to the skin, including inside her boots. She was discovered when the water started spilling under the door into the main hallway of the community centre. Oh joy. I found the worst stinky old string mop in the cleaning cupboard with the most pathetic bucket and a few paper towels and spent thereafter almost one hour trying to clear up the water. All the while A was sitting in her soaking clothes looking at me and being highly amused, despite my thunderous expression and occasional outbursts of "That was VERY NAUGHTY!".

DH has been told not to let her play at the kitchen sink any more. She clearly doesn't know the difference between supervised play and wrecking the place.

AbbyLou · 19/05/2009 20:14

Lups!! Great to hear from you and to hear that things are going well for you and dh. How did Willow settle back in at school after her spell of home-edding. I only ask because I have a child starting with me next me who has had all of Reception and most of Year 1 at home and I'm wondering what I can do to settle her in gently.
LGT great news about your brother, you must be sooo relieved!

Lupins71 · 19/05/2009 21:15

Abby we started her 2 days a week and over the 1st half term added a day or half a day a week, if she didnt feel like going then she didnt go but mostly she was quite keen it was her decision to go back to school and altho i wasnt sure about it she has settled really well, we did have teething problem such as she doesnt like one of the teachers and there are a couple of the girls she doesnt like and she took some adjusting to having to get up in the morning - am still working on that one, but on the whole it has been a good move the school has lots going on and the teachers and head are very happy to listen to my niggles lol

TYG OMG what a little madam I have a vision in my head o a smirking little girl while mummy is red with rage an her knees in puddles - not good

I am officially fed up with bedtimes, A has just taken an hr and a half to go to sleep he was having a mega strop and kept trying to hit and kick me and escape his bed to play with his toys and everytime he was almost gone he would seem to have a 2nd wind and start again, any tips greatly recieved, am even dreading going to bed as i know he will come and wake me up at some god awful hour, totally fed up with it

Would be lovely to meet up with a few of you again and meet some more of you

MmeJaffaB · 19/05/2009 21:59

Oh TYG, I feel your pain...Maddie is a water player, Jorja has followed suit of course.... the clear up is always a nightmare. J appears soaked from the garden on numerous occassions having decided to open the tap on the water buts and shower!

AuRevoir et bonne semaine a tous. Je suis en VACANCES! Whooop! lg&t à Vendredi et AM à Dimanche. x

Pebblemum · 19/05/2009 22:50

hello all! My internet is still playing up and can only access mnet on my phone but then i cant always post messages, god knows why. Have lost count of the times ive wrote long posts only for them not to work.

Things have been so hectic lately, guess thats what happens when you have 4 kids lol. Alana is so full of beans, she doesnt stop jumping, running all day and she is starting to drop her nap time now so i dont get that bit of peace anymore. She is such a character though, i just wish she would talk more although i remember saying the same about ethan and now he never shuts up lol. Cant believe our LO's our 2. Alana is 2 on Friday and still tiny, only weighs 1st 10lb, wears size 4 shoes and 12-18month clothes :-o. Unlike Deacon who is huge. He's almost 4months and weighs 15lb (was 7lb at birth) Hes my little chunky monkey lol After a rough start i now think he's the happiest baby out of all of mine, hes always smiling and 'talking'. Despite that he is definately my last, dh is having the snip.

I think Jordan's voice is breaking! He went away for the weekend and when he came home he had a weird croaky voice. Hes 12 on Saturday so it is possible. I guess it wont be long before the teenage hormones kick in, oh joy :-}

i know ive missed a lot of gossip so would be grateful if someone could fill me in with a few bits ie who's pg, the sex of AMs baby and anything else ive missed. I would try to read it all myself but it would take me ages lol

AprilMeadow · 20/05/2009 12:54

MrsJB i hope you have a good journey and cant wait to see you on Sunday xx

Just packed up all our stuff AGAIN as we are heading back to Orlando. We have torrential rain here and its supposed to stay until the end of the month. We managed to swap our hotel back to a Disney one and can check in at 4pm (9pm uk). Even though its raining in Orlando at least we can wander round the parks rather than sitting in the room. Can just about fit all the stuff we have into the cases which is a bit as we only filled one case on the way out and bought a spare one inside the 2nd case. Bloody cuddly toys taking up all the space.

Pebble, Ella is only about 2lbs heavier than Alana. She looks so tiny but so grown up all at the same time. Bump is a very active PINK one

largeginandtonic · 21/05/2009 08:32

Hullo all!

I am seeing MrsJB tomorow!! Hooray. Pray for sunshine ladies we are meeting in a park.

Lovely to see you Pebble! Glad Deacon is good for you. I have no idea how heavy B is,i have only just got Indie weighed last week since she was disharged by the midwife at 10 days (and they have given me an award for this parenting lark!)

There are some very nice things being said about me on the other thread I feel all warm and fuzzy.

I told ex the other day and he was very nice about it, they googled me. Good grief. Their baby is looking very sweet, it is very odd to see a baby that is not mine look an awful lot like some of my babies. He just has hair!

I am off shopping today so wish me luck! B permitting obv. I am taking bribery

I have smart black linen trews and am looking for some kimono type top to hide the rest of me. If they do a matching mask all the better.

CM how are ya today?

Scoot how are you?

Sky any job news?

Pink is Lexie ok? Run's gone yet? How many times did you heave over it

AM has the rain stopped?

School run beakons am off.

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/05/2009 11:45

Good Luck with the shopping trip. Let us know how you get on

largeginandtonic · 21/05/2009 14:47

Hoorah! I managed to get a skirt and couple of vest tops from White Stuff and a very nice cardy from Gap.

I have some black linen trews to go with it all too. Hoping i will be able to make a few outfits out of it and be sort of smart at the hotel too.

B was fairly good, i even got a coffee in Starbucks! Indie did a mega poo and shared it with my leg too though. Was time for home when it happened luckily.

So am all set >

Tills i am sure i asked you for names the other day. Come on...

Tillyscoutsmum · 21/05/2009 16:18

Ooh - links ? Please

Yes - names... Love the girls name btw

Errrrm - we're struggling tbh. Matilda was my much loved grandmothers name and had been picked since I was about 15 so I'm finding choosing a girls name I love as much really difficult (and I have a secret longing for another girl as well).

I quite like Daisy but Tilly & Daisy have too many "eee" sounds and Daisy is a bit of a delicate little flower name and if this baby is anywhere near the size of Tils, it really would not work. I like Florence (but similar ishoos with Flossie/Florrie) and I like Beatrice (Tilly & Bea sound cute imho) but DH doesn't

Boys - I like quite traditional boys names. I really like George but worried its a bit too popular and I'm not sure I can get passed the Peppa Pig connection. DH loves Rufus and we both quite like Seth and Barney (but its that ee sound again). Also like Atticus but don't want to overdo the TKAMB "theme"

So - in response to your question - no flaming idea Will concentrate more when we know the gender so look out for numerous baby name threads

Bet you're sorry you asked now !

largeginandtonic · 21/05/2009 18:45

Tills SOH and Meggle have fab girl ideas. Will FB you with the lists we had.

The clothes will probably not link as we have a White Stuff and Gap outlet here (lucky) Probably past season. Will look anyhoo and see

Love Rufus btw and Barney. Too many George's but i do love the name. Would have to give him a mad second name like George Flash

I see MrsJB tomorrow, wahooooooo!

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/05/2009 20:56

Rufus is cool. I can't do Barney, not even a short form for ds1. What about Raphael? Or Rafe?

When we chose Daisy I too imagined this tiny petite flower-like child. Mine is far from it as you'll see. Bea is adorable, you have to work on DH.

I'm very into baby names just now because poor old dsis is still in hospital with a high bp. They are talking about inducing her tomorrow. I love Friday birthdays.

Shopping sounds like a success LG&T. We want plenty of pics of the big day and the outing. Have you decided who will come with you to the hotel????

Have a lovely day with MrsJB tomorrow and send her a squidge from us.

Dd and I have been to the Crown Russian Ballet tonight. It was wonderful, we were right at the front and could see all the beautiful feet action not to mention the packets .

MKG · 21/05/2009 21:56

I really like the name Emmett recently.

I will ship off Cruz to whoever wants him! That little rascal has been in the habit of taking off his diaper and running around, well today he took it off in his crib and proceeded to poo all over and stick his hand in it and paint his sheets.

I swear these children are going to make me insane!!

Pebblemum · 21/05/2009 23:36

I caught Alana trying to scrub the toilet with Dh's toothbrush earlier, she had seen me using the toilet brush and obviously decided to give it a go with something more her size, little bugger. Luckily we had a spare lol.

AprilMeadow · 22/05/2009 01:34

What a little monkey Pebble. I hope you have a great day for Alana's birthday tomorrow x

We soooooo need to come home. J is being utterly awful to the point that i told him that i hated him and wished that i had a child that wasnt as rude/naughty/selfish/ungrateful/horrid as he has been in the last few days .

Off to Hollywood Studios tomorrow as its the start of the Star Wars weekend and dh has been desparate to go for years but we always miss it. Will be there at 9am and hopefully stay until 1pm before heading back to the hotel to get changed and head to the airport.

Catch you all on Saturday xx

JamInMyWellies · 22/05/2009 08:45

pebble last night I left archie in the bathroom cleaning his teeth came back 2 mins later to find him using the toilet water to rinse his toothbrush in.

Themasterandmargaritas · 22/05/2009 09:01

I'm sensing a theme here

Happy Birthday for tomorrow tiny tiny Alana.

SKYTVADDICT · 22/05/2009 09:49

Happy Birthday to Alana x

I caught C with DPs back brush down the loo earlier this week . Don't tell DP will you? I just washed it in hot soapy water!

Lupins71 · 22/05/2009 12:36

Lol I caught Arlen eating toilet tissue from out of the toilet ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! he is so gross luckily it was just the end bit i had put down there and not a used bit

Need some vibes for dd she is so poorly, she was sick about 8 times last night with raging fever and sore throat and headache, have been to docs this morning and its a viral infection - now the timing wouldnt be too bad being half term however we have people arriving 1st thing tomorrow and we are supposed to be camping with them sun and mon, really have been looking forward to it for ages, poor little mite doesnt get ill veru often and her throatn looks awful she is really suffering, on a plus note it has curbed her awful temper and rude tones

AM ooo dear thats harsh he must have really pissed you off, I must say that although they seem to be slightly more lovable than girls I find Arlen alot harder work than Willow, hope your dh enjoys his star wars morning, have a good flight

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Alana xx

MKG Arlen takes his nappy off at the moment - not had the pleasure of it being a pooey one yet lol!

Off to wash a mountain of sicky bed clothes and do a massive house clearance in preparation for friends arrival at the crack of dawn tomorrow

Have a lovely day all xx

Tillyscoutsmum · 22/05/2009 14:54

Tils is obsessed with toothbrushes as well... I don't think any of them have made it into the loo but I have my specs off whilst I'm in the shower so she could be doing anything with them and I'd never know !

If anyone is bored and wants to help me with outfit help, please feel free to come over here
