Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

You will be everything she needs by virtue of being her mother. She's a wonderful girl. Stop doubting yourself.

Night my lovey.

ShowOfHands · 23/08/2009 12:21

I have some news. There is to be a new addition to the SOH family. I wasn't sure at first if we were doing the right thing but DH persuaded me that it would be good for M and yes, it's a responsibility but it will have its benefits.

JamInMyWellies · 23/08/2009 13:52

Is it a dog, pig, chickens?

ShowOfHands · 23/08/2009 14:20

Smaller.

AprilMeadow · 23/08/2009 17:00

Hey thats fantastic news SOH!! Does 'it' have an arrival date or is it work in progress

Themasterandmargaritas · 23/08/2009 17:07

Hooray, hooray, hooray! When is it going to arrive?

JamInMyWellies · 23/08/2009 20:59

guinea pigs, rats???

ShowOfHands · 23/08/2009 21:19

Bigger.

JamInMyWellies · 23/08/2009 21:26

is it animal, plant, human........

largeginandtonic · 23/08/2009 23:43

Not a CAT. I'm allergic. Spill.

Have had a weekend of car travel. Lovely to see my friend and her teeny tiny baby again though. He is 4lb 4oz now but not feeding well, she is constantly rousing him to feed. They are starting to talk top-ups He is still name less too...

I must go to bed >

AM how are you chick? I keep thinking about you!

Themasterandmargaritas · 24/08/2009 05:57

You are all talking animals, I (and April) weren't thinking animals exactly............

So are we right???

charleymouse · 24/08/2009 08:29

TMAM I stalked browsed the due boards and did not spot a SOH alias but that was my thought also.

AprilMeadow · 24/08/2009 08:35

I'm ok thanks LG&T. Getting bored of drumming fingers waiting for L to arrive. Am 36+3 today so only 2 days from when i had E, although by dates i am 37wks and that would make L late by 2 days

We had a family day out yesterday to Legoland and had a great day. Hardly did any of the rides but still managed to be there for 5hours in the lovely sunshine. Spent last night paying for having a nice day as i had some very strong pains that have stepped up a notch from the ones i had the other week as well as lasting a lot longer and seem to tighten the all of my bump and low down. Took forever to get to sleep last night as i wasnt sure what to make of them but in the end figured if it was going to turn into something then i would get woken up. Dh has been fantastic, infact he is so much more relaxed about it this time round and he stayed awake last night until i was asleep just to make sure i was ok.

Obviously nothing happened and i am still in 1 piece although we did have a shocking nights sleep with Ella waking 3 times (for no reason) and Jack waking once. E was then up to start the day at about 6am AGAIN!! She didnt even have a sleep yesterday and ran around Legoland so i was that she didnt sleep well.

Am popping into the office today to finishing some fun policies and then back home to veg out.

Baby now needs to hang on until Monday next week before she makes her appearance as we are off to Silverstone on Saturday for more Touring Car action. So if you could all please bottle up your labour vibes and store them until Monday that would be great. It will also mean that by hospital dates i will be over 37wks and shouldnt need to stay in if she arrived then

LG&T hope you have a good time with your friend and that she manages to find away of getting her little man to feed without the need of top ups.

Abby & Pink, I hope the girls perk up today and that it was just a 24hr thingy and nothing else too yucky.

MrsJB, I hope your parcel arrives today....

SOH, you NEED to come back and tell us who is right

Big wave to everyone else x

ShowOfHands · 24/08/2009 09:03

AM, you're going to give birth on the grid. Try and hobble back to that amazing house on wheels when your waters go in all the excitement and you have an immediate need to push.

Our 2 week old kettle has died today and we absolutely can't afford a new one. RIP you useless plastic stealer of dreams.

LG&T I had a dream about your dh last night. It was most odd. He was taking M swimming and wanted to know which of her cardigans was most suitable for the swimming pool. Boy still not named? Kit not a goer then?

TMAM, tell us all about your weekend away and how fabulous your husband is. That pic on fb is my niece but by marriage. She's sil's from a previous relationship though she has been adopted by my db and calls him Dad. So no blood relation. And will be horrified to be compared to her ageing aunt who is -I quote- weird and dresses like a scarecrow. Other little girl on there is dn who has been poorly lately. Much better and thankfully looks nowt like me.

I'm off to mourn the death of my kettle by flinging the pathetic excuse for a household appliance at a brick wall.

PS. Do you know me but at all. Here follows a vague representation of a post by me following the eventuality some of you mistakenly suspect...

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Although more accurately I wouldn't post at all but would sit in the turnip field with my pants on my head, clutching my broken stealer of dreams whilst embracing the end of my sanity.

LG&T, sadly is right. Two in fact. I shall remember not to rub them on your face.

ShowOfHands · 24/08/2009 09:07

Oh and charley your mistake was looking in antinatal (typo intended). Pets was where I was. And me? Namechange? How very dare you.

AprilMeadow · 24/08/2009 09:15

Bugger! Thought we had finally convinced you to have another!

No home on wheels this weekend Have a nice hotel just behind the circuit and use of the truck to slob out in though. You will have to watch ITV4 on Sunday to see if you can spot the walking weeble on the grid

largeginandtonic · 24/08/2009 12:04

Do you know it did not even accur to me that you were pregnant. I find that quite sad. I wish you would reconsider.

Bloody CATS! Just what is the appeal? My friend has 2, Violet and Iris. I sulked when she got hers and will sulk again now in light of yours

I spend my time avoiding hers, they fall asleep on B while he is in bed just to annoy me i know!

What are their names? Her boy is still nameless. We are down to Fergus, Seamus and Hugo i think

AM glad you are ok, take it easy. You dont want to labour while knackered. Will look out for you on itv4

DD1 has her squint op tomorrow, she is in the place called fear. She fainted at the pre op and they had not even come near her We have to be in there at 730! Poor girl. I have no idea how to make it better. We are going for distraction today, a trip to shakeaway after lunch. They love it, excpet Hugs who hates milk. He want to go to a Rockingcano instead (what he calls a volcano) Pretty sure we struggle to find one of those round here

Pink and Abby hope the girls are better soon. What happened on this magical weekend TMAM?

AbbyLou · 24/08/2009 13:08

LGT I hope all goes well for dd tomorrow with her op. At least you have thought of some nice things to do today to take her mind off it. I'm with you on the cats I'm afraid - hideously allergic to them too!
AM I never fail to ba amazed at how much 'stuff' you do. You are always so busy and jetting off and going on trips. I'm surprised all your kids haven't been early!!!
PJ Hope L is a little better today. I ended up ringing NHS Direct about R at 6am this morning. She had been boiling hot all night despite Calpol and Nurofen alternated. She had had hardly any sleep and ended up in our bed. She also had a horrible barking cough and very runny nose. When I woke this morning, to the sound of a really monay cry, she was boiling hot but absolutely shaking from head to toe. Really, really shivering. It scared me a bit to be honest. When I rang the Nurse said it could be Swine Flu but becasue of the fever she thought I should get her checked out. I explained all to the drs this morning and they said to bring her in so I did. The Dr said probably is sf but may not be! She said they treat it as any other virus now with children - they don't test or treat and she said there is no need to keep her in!! Info seems to change all the time. Anyway, she seems alittle better but has taken herself off to bed for the 2nd time today which is very unlike her.

JamInMyWellies · 24/08/2009 22:49

Good luck for tom LG&T hope all goes ok. Mini manicure with pink nail varnish for her afterwards.

MmeJaffaB · 25/08/2009 09:58

Hope all goes/went well for P today LG&T x

JamInMyWellies · 25/08/2009 17:35

How did P get on?

ShowOfHands · 25/08/2009 20:13

Sure LG&T won't mind me telling you that P's fine. Was upset but of course you would be. Poor beautiful girl, it's a horrid thing.
