fingers crossed that csws does not have long until she is back on here due to D falling straight back to sleep

jenwa · 22/05/2009 22:13

star yes, they get really upset and its diffucult as so do we as mothers but instinct and maternal factors come in and we know what is best for our children. A man does what he feel is best for him

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2009 22:14

He was all confused because he didn't calm down when he picked him up, so he talked to me over the monitor to ask what to do (don't start me off on that one ), and I said 'put him down then' but he apparently couldn't hear over ds' crying, so he assumed (why????) that I'd said 'bring him down'.
Anyway, he appears to be asleep again now, and there was very little actual shouty crying (except when dh was holding him), more just a little prolonged settling moan.

jenwa · 22/05/2009 22:17

Fingers crossed he will be ok now and sleep for you, he prob was distressed with DH picking him up and trying to talk through the monitor! He thought "doh daddy, thats not mummy"

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/05/2009 22:19

Aubergenie - I need to take a dairy free dessert to friend's barbecue on Sunday. Any ideas - I don't do much in the way of dessert. Can't contain chocolate as dh allergic.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 22/05/2009 23:10

So Aubergenie - dairy free chocolate pudding for CSWS

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/05/2009 08:55

Ho ho ho.

A good night here. He didn't wake again until 2:30, so I gave him a big feed (25 mins), and despite moaning when I put him down, he settled within a minute again. Didn't hear from him again until 6, when he appeared to coo cutely and put his music on, so I figured I'd leave him a few minutes, and he went back to sleep until 7:15

Bloody hell CSWS - that is fantastic. I'm really beginning to wonder if this whole NCSS thing is just a way of lengthening the agony and I should just follow what you've been doing. We had another AWFUL night last night with constant waking, but then I'm still feeling poorly and S is snuffly so I assume he's not feeling well.

Let me get my dairy-free brain in gear and I'll try and come up with something.

MM- have a great day!

aubergenie · 23/05/2009 09:38

CSWS - Remind me, can you have soya milk?

loulou33 · 23/05/2009 09:55

csws - that's fantastic and i bet you feel a million times better for all that sleep too. Joe does that cute cooing thing, although this morning it was loud shouts at 5.15 - fed and back to sleep by 5.45 despite him looking wide awake whilst feeding. He just snuggled fluffy and closed his eyes!! mr csws needs a kick up the backside for his numptiness but at least D didn't get too confused by the whole thing. Am i right in thinking he slept about 10 + hours with a wake up in the middle?? That is so good.....here's to more good nights for you.

csws yeh!I bet you feel great, or were you waiting for him to wake in the night? Glad he slept so well though.

myjob poor you, its horrible when they are poorly isn't it. Both of them too so what a bad night you had Dry coughs at night are always horrible. Sometimes that teething gel is good as it is slightly numbing so could be worth a little try if they both coughing again tongight?
Hope your back is ok, sounds very painful!

DH taking kids to his parents so we can tidy outside and get ready for bbq tomorrow.

MM Hope you are having a lovely day.

jenwa · 23/05/2009 13:15

Oh and I have some red lentils to make a lentil thing for Phoebe from the annabelo karmel book. What else do you put lentils in as I have never cooked them before!

CSWS ? I?ve got a lovely recipe for mille feuille, all dairy free with lots of lovely fresh fruit in, and very easy to make ? you make the custard with soya milk, but I?m wondering if that might be a bit more afternoon tea-ish. You could make a glazed fruit flan and serve it with dairy ice cream/soya ice cream (I?ve got a recipe for the flan and dairy-free vanilla ice cream).

A sorbet?s probably no good is it, if you?re travelling to someone?s house? Otherwise that?s another possibility.

Or how about an apple tart or a tart tatin type thing? Easy too, especially if you buy the pastry.

Myjob ? I?d forgotten about your LOs being so tiny. We?re at the other end of the spectrum here?

loulou33 · 23/05/2009 14:19

Ak's lentil thing is good or a mild lentil curry, lentil soup are all good. Joe likes split peas as well althoguh you ahve to saok them first overnight - i am not that organised usually!!

Joe has barely slept today - 20mins this morning and 45 misn this pm, now very grumpy - ho hum

ronshar · 23/05/2009 15:02

Just a very quick one, am supposed to be house cleaning for guests tonight.
Have fun today MM. Loads of pics please.

N will be better soon myjob. Hang in there.

CSWS Yah and for the men in your life.

Lentils are horrible. They make me very windy. So dont eat them. EVER.

Loulou you are now the in house sleep guru. Here is your crown...(it is a beautiful pink one, with sparkles)

Aubergenie, sounds like you are nearly better. Are you taking vitamins C at all? It may help to fight off the last bits of nasty.

Cherrychoc. Yep another 5.30 start here too.

loulou33 · 23/05/2009 15:59

thank you thank you thank you. we have no pink/sparkles in our house with 2 boys so it's perfect ronshar

I would like to thank my mother for having me..........

loulou33 · 23/05/2009 17:45

ok so my acceptance speech has driven everyone away then

Juwesm · 23/05/2009 18:53

Marthasmama gives good cake

ronshar · 23/05/2009 19:17

Loulou. It is my absolute pleasure.
Also I really needed to get rid clean up the girls making stuff box, which contains more pink, fluffy and sparkles rubbish than you could believe.

OOOO who would have known MM was like that?
