Hi girls, thought I would start a new thread as DD2 is one on Thursday .

Can you believe a whole year has passed already?

HM LOL at your little independent DS...I know what you mean. DD2 is v cute but also getting v independent. I do a mix of spoon feeding and finger feeding (I know not BLW as such). She is thankfully a very clean eater like her sister...it must be genetic!
I know people will slate me for this, but I really couldn't cope with all that mess. My days are demanding enough!

Joking aside, the latest version of Christopher Green's 'Toddler Taming' is brilliant.

Big news in the lucky household...DD2 took 3 steps on her own today!!! So she may well be proper walking before her birthday (you've got 2 days DD2....no pressure!)

Still no sign of chicken pox.....

Hello all,
what a week. Don't know what I was thinking moving my family of 3 into a one bed flat on the 4th floor (no lift!). House is lovely but a complete mess and assault course at the moment and no internet yet (I'm in a cafe).

Thanks so much for all the engagement congrats . Once these bloody boxes are unpacked I need to get thinking hard about what to do and then get plannning very quickly!

HM Millie gets my vote, how exciting, can't believe you're due so soon!

Niknak That sounds like an epic few days, must be nice to be home!

DS is sleeping very badly but we're really really trying to get him into his own room (the box room - it has a skylight so not totally a box!). I've also decided to give up breastfeeding, it's time. But as I had up until yesterday been feeding at night (lots of times ) and now am not my boobs are so so so sore. How long til they go down again? I look like I have implants, DP was appreciative yesterday but now it's just grotesque! Can't believe how sore they are too, DP bumped into them and I howled!

LM I love that your sis will be Mrs Ruby, that's a great name! A good friend of mine has just got engaged in America and her new name will be Mrs Champagne! If that's not a liscense to misbehave I don't know what is. I'd be in trouble with that name, like a childrens story book character gone wrong ' "Mrs Champagne woke up and she had champagne for breakfast and champagne for lunch..."

have a good day everyone {smile]

Niknak21 · 16/06/2009 16:52

Well had a tricky day yesterday with no sleep and 2 kids. Madly went shopping for a rash vest for DS1, I never take them shopping together. Had to phone a friend for a bit of adult contact, and luckily she had just arrived at the shopping centre. Had a mad coffee with her, but it was nice to chat. That's what I miss most about not having a job, the chat.

I gave up breast feeding about 2 weeks ago, stopped nights for 5 days then mornings. I was really shocked how much it hurt since I was only doing 2 feeds. It took about a week to go down, and now have some lovely spaniels ears. Looking froward to when they settle in size and I can go out and get some new bras!

It's been a lovely sunny day here, off to collect the hooligans and planning to go down the beach with the newly fitted trail gator for DS1 (DH to tow, not me).

Off to Italy on Saturday for a week, 11 adults, 6 LOs, the oldest being DS1 at just over 2.5 and the youngest 0.5. Looking forward to catching up with the girls and letting the men have a play.

thefortbuilder · 16/06/2009 18:08

HM we are away! i won't be able to come in and see you

make sure you get dh to text us!

not much else to say - i wouldn't bank on any chance of having a dd if we went for another one though - i'd end up with another ds for my penance!

Niknak21 · 16/06/2009 19:12

DS2 almost walking, although I think he's not sure. He can stand alone from sitting and dances, but no steps. He's saving it for the marble floors and stone steps next week

Haribosmummy · 16/06/2009 19:26

LOL, Niknak - You know that's true, don't you??!? Hope you have a LOVELY holiday!!

DS is also pretty much walking and is demon-fast crawling too!!! I think he's really funny sometimes - you can see him leaving go of whatever support he's holding onto, and he seems rather surprised he doesn't fall over!!!

Flick - No problems... I don't think this time is going to be so relaxed (I was in for 5 days last time and it was just LOVELY!) - I reckon I'll be out in two days this time... BAH!! Still, a good friend is booked in for the day before me, so we'll be able to take tea together I was sure I'd only have boys, but it seems nature has decided differently (unless the scans have been wrong so far!!! )

Baiyu - I will sponsor you for the Moonwalk.. Can I do that via the FB link? You will be getting plenty of practice with all of those steps!! Hope you are happy in your (temporary) new home!!

LM74 - Sounds like the wedding plans are in full swing!! I have a mug from DS. The girls will sort themselves out now. I was going to take DH to The Grove so that he and DS could go swimming, but fathers day clashes with the British GP and somethings just can't be messed with!!!! so I think it'll just be the mug!!!

HM you don't fancy helping me on the bubble stand on sunday for a bit do you? you can sit down lots and it should be a nice day!

Haribosmummy · 16/06/2009 21:40

Is that in Islington? I'm free Sunday!!! (Can DS come with me??)

Niknak21 · 16/06/2009 21:58

DH Father's Day was done early, I got some hand and foot print silver cufflinks a few months age. DS1's hand and DS2's foot with their names, one on each side. I think it was more for me though, to have the keep sake.

What's a bubble stand? sounds like fun!

thefortbuilder · 17/06/2009 06:26

yes in islington - if you like ds can come - it's a small stand but you can pop off round with him in the buggy if he starts getting bored!

HM you could be a lifesaver!!!

Niknak I'm doing a trade fair called Bubble London on sunday and monday - it's a high end kids fair - so not as fun as it might sound...

HM call me today and we can chat.

Haribosmummy · 17/06/2009 07:17

WIll call you this morning..

I am hosting an NCT gossip shop coffee morning this morning, so am stuck at home all day.

More than happy to help.. DS will be fine. Being cuddled while people smile at him is one of his favorite past times!!!!

Haribosmummy · 17/06/2009 07:17

Niknak - Your present sounds lovely!

Do you have a link and was it really expensive???

Niknak21 · 17/06/2009 07:50

It was £55, it's a local thing, but I'm sure loads of people so it around you, there's a few round here. Her website is funkyfingers, if you google it you can see what she does.

Hope the high end fair goes well x

Haribosmummy · 17/06/2009 13:07

niknak - def. going to look at someone who offers that in my area. I've seen the ones that send you impression kits, but I'd probably get it wrong and cry (damned pregnancy hormones! )

Hm xx

HiDeHo Ladies

Ooooooohh im soo tired, and I would love to blame it on dd but her sleep pattern has been okish of late.

There's only one sure fire way Flick to find out what sex the next bump will be .... I would love to be pregnant again ...

We went to a local softplay area today. Hannah had just walked in to the play area when this wee 2yr(guess) boy walked right up to her, couldnt get passed so pushed her to the ground. Obviously she just burst into tears and didnt move out his way (he couldv just walked around her) so then he kicked her! The wee sh*t just smirked and walked away from me when I gave him in to trouble.
Apparently he had been throwing his weight round the play area, the mum at the next table had been watching out for an adult connected to him but there was no active parent to be claimed.
Oh I was soo ...

Didn't get job , back to the drawing board!

thefortbuilder · 18/06/2009 06:24

o'h niknak

off to find dh a remote controlled airplane today for fathers day....

HM I hae emailed you and will call you today x

Niknak21 · 18/06/2009 07:31

Flick he's a lucky daddy. Definitely a big boys toy he'll love. My DH was coveting one down the park the other day.....

Haribosmummy · 18/06/2009 08:09

Sorry, Niknak

Flick - I got your mail thanks!!

Hi, LM74 Sho - I'd be angry too about that little boy. Same thing happened to DS yesterday - a little girl just came out of her way to smack him ... Still, her card is marked for 2 years time when he is bigger than she is

HM x

Niknak21 · 18/06/2009 09:21

DS2 sat on a smaller baby at sing and sign on Monday .

Luckily I was watching him and got there before he put his full weight onto her. I was a little shocked her mother didn't jump up sooner and rescue her since she was in grabbing distance. That was after he went to 'hello' bite another one smaller than him . But he is one of the older ones in the class, and so I think in 2 years time he will still be bigger.....

It's a minefield this parenting! But I am determined not to bring up 2 thugs (through the tears!)

macaco · 18/06/2009 09:33

Hi all.

I too am sooo tired I could weep really. DS sleeps well but is waking early (6am) I know it's still nothing comapred to some of you battling with sleep problems but it's tiring me out. Was almost dropping off on the drive to work! I've been self medicating with iron supplements lately as I was just beyond exhausted and getting colds, coldsores, ulcers etc and I've been feeling better since then, so maybe a bit of latent anaemia?

DS still not walking unaided, although looks like he could if he put his mind to it. 15 months now, almost. We have a check up today. it should have been at 12 months but I didn't realise so he's having his 12 month check 3 months late bad mummy emoticon. Hope we don't get a bollocking!

DS also a bit bitey, has bitten me twice lately. Teeth irritating him i think. Number 9 and 10 coming through (the top fang ones...eye teeth?) very very slowly. I think that explains the early waking too.

Sorry about the job NikNak good luck hunting! I'm just getting things in place to go freelance next month! Quite exciting! Next week is my last week at work. Yipeeeeee! Then we're going to the beach for a few days to escape the unbearable heat here.....40 degrees yesterday and humidity of around 50%, I feel like I'm being slow roasted....and then I'll start looking for work the following week.

hope the bubble fair goes well flick
Hello to LM and sho^....try some iron girls, maybe you're anaemic? I sound like a drug dealer! But honestly it's good stuff!

thefortbuilder · 18/06/2009 10:10

ds2 also still not walking on his own but i just think he's lazy! he can stand on his own quite happily and walk pushing a trolley etc really quickly but still scuttles on his backside for speed

he too is waking up at about 6am and i'm shattered too! had to resort to sticking ds1 in front of curious george so i could nap when ds2 had his 45 mins this morning

but i have made homemade oat and raisin flapjacks for them so not too bad a mummy here!

thanks for the good wishes for Bubble ladies - fingers crossed otherwise I may as well pack up and go home!

shonnomanom · 19/06/2009 10:16

Sorry about the job niknak macaco I have been thinking about my iron levels, iv had problems with it since a teenager

flick & haribo enjoy the Bubble

I really hope it stops raining soon. Its been raining (heavily) on and off all week. The kids at work are desperate to get out on their bikes.
We'v just had Sky HD & multiroom fitted this morning. DP is so excited he's away to bed to watch telly. In fairness he is just off night shift

Hello, everybody. I don't know if any of you remember me but I used to post on this thread. I read regularly but can't think of anything to write except "me too" for tiredness! Special congratulations to Baiyu and Haribosmummy.

Ds will be 14 months on the 22nd June and he's a happy wee fella. Walking and talking in his own burble with several recognisable words (Dh has taught him to say "Bum", thanks to him for that). I'm still BFing and intend to stop this summer. Don't know what to replace it with. DS drinks a little cow's milk when with the CM but I gave up giving him formula when he turned one as he didn't enjoy it. To those who have recently given up BF, do your babies just have lots of cow's milk instead? I'm a bit worried at the prospect of sore boobs but I guess that'll wear off eventually.

Best wishes to all who are back at work or looking or thinking of re-training. I've been back teaching four days a week since Dec and while the day off is brilliant, I'm knackered teaching and then marking at night. Does anyone else find the hours after you get home exhausting? You finish a day's work and then pick up your kids and start cooking, cleaning, helping with homeworks, make lunches, etc ... crikey, I'm boring myself writing about it! I'd so love a day off with DH.

For what it's worth, I think Mrs Champagne sounds like she has a brilliant life!
