She seemed to like it, ahe was doing the thunderbirds thing with her arms.

star6 · 01/05/2009 13:56

I was sad at first that Q wasn't getting ALL of his food from me directly... but now I love that I can give him bits of food when he's hungry instead of getting my clothes off . I gave him egg when I was out the other day for breakfast... he loved it (mushed of course ).

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 14:57

Thuderbirds thing? M always has her arms flapping out to her side when she's sitting up, even in the Bumbo chair. Unless of course she has one of her rattles, then she just bashes them constantly on her side like an out of time percussion player. P's gag reflex is going to really sensitive because of the reflux so while most babies would probably just gag, she vomits. She'll get used to the new texture soon enough.

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 15:00

Thuderbirds ? I mean Thunderbirds, doh!

I am watching M playing on the floor at the moment. I think she is so tired that she has started hallucinating because she's watching her hands and then laughing like a crazed LSD fuelled nutter!

KSal · 01/05/2009 15:15

Hi HMM, marthasmama is absolutely right re poppy's reflux/gag reflex. Emma was bringing up food quite regularly but she's learning to control it better now.

now she's on the gaviscon she only seems to vom when she's got a cough... which is quite often with nursery!

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 15:26

Argh! M seems determined to make me give up bfing. She keeps turning away and biting! Hurrah! She hardly had any milk today either. She's being very mean today. So far I've been punched in the mouth, headbutted on the nose, kicked in the face, bitten on the nip, had my eye poked and had my hair pulled.

Yay well done on the weigh gain!! Not been getting ds weighed as often as i should so took him wednesday and hes now 17lb 5. looks like we are stopping at two too.

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 17:23

Bloody hell myjob! N is eating for England! Well done to both of you. M is a grumpy mare today. DH has taken her out as ds has his first trampolining session today . I wanted to go but needed a bit of break from that pickle of a dd.

Hello Knickers, I am one of the broody ones. But I am waiting until this time next year before trying again. Had a pretty shitty time after my c-section so body needs a little while to recover. Plus I have lots of baby lard still to shift Hmm might be the first to pop again!

Aubergenie - Your talk of cooking has inspired me and we bought some different things at Tesco today as I am so bored of our regular meals.

Speaking of Tesco, they were doing an offer today on that yucky rotisserie chicken and people were queuing down TWO aisles! They're insane! It was totally ridiculous, they were waiting around 30/40 mins for cheap chicken. The mind boggles!

knickers0nmahead · 01/05/2009 17:31

ive been getting a little broody but been told no more by dp! i was the first to fall pg on the aug 07 board. deffinatly wont be the first on this one!

i think its more the fact that dp is nearly 37 so doesnt want anymore. i have accepted it though.

RachieW · 01/05/2009 18:35

Hello- another work from home day for dh so no access to the computer until now.

HMM- Sorry to hear that Poppy was sick after the baby rice but like MM said it's a good start that she accepted the food.

Jack refused banana today, I tried it last week too and he wasn't that fussed. Anyone else found their dc's don't like banana? He's eaten everything else so far.

Been feeling a bit low today, not sure why really. Ds seems to moan a lot at home, that mnnerr noise again. Took him to my Nan's this afternoon though and he was adorable, chatting and smiling. Back home now, more whinging. Maybe he doesn't like his house

Take away curry tonight though so something to cheer me up

Thanks Pistachio I was wondering if I'm the only mum who finds her baby easier outside of the home than inside! I think we need to get to more baby groups now, Jack just seems to need a lot more stimulation that I can give him.

RachieW · 01/05/2009 19:10

sorry- than I can!

jenwa · 01/05/2009 19:38

mmm, curry here too

Phoebe also not fussed on banana, she always spits it back out! She adores cheese though.

myjob yeh for Naomis weight gain, well done and also about the foxy part of the pole dancing, although it would keep me fit and have a lovely tummy,

jenwa · 01/05/2009 19:40

star sorry, I thought I had read you had started that thread [doh] and fancy you not having time surely you could start that when you are expressing milk at 5am haha!!! NO pressure but be interesting to see your views on them. They seem to be really helping DD1 anyway and she got her reward today for achieving 15 which was a trip to the park, glad it was sunny though. We even went to the libray on the way home so had a nice day all in all.

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2009 19:55

Brilliant weight gain myjob .

Sorry that Poppy was sick after her rice hmm. Did you mix it with expressed bm?

Keep your fingers crossed for us tonight ladies, as tonight we all had macaroni cheese for dinner. I used soya milk, but real cheshire cheese (didn't have any cheddar in). Since we've been dairy free for nearly 6 months now I thought it was worth a try to see if he reacts, or if he's grown out of it, and cooked cheese seemed a good gentle way to test that.

Honeymoonmummy · 01/05/2009 20:30

I haven't read back yet as short of time but I was just wondering whether Poppy may have been sick due to first time underwater yesterday. The water has so much chlorine, it's taken half the nail varnish off my toes both times.

Also, the acupuncture lady has told me to give up soya as well as dairy (and a few other things eg garlic, spicy food), so I need inspiration? CSWS didn't you try it? I'm gonna start a separate post too.

Honeymoonmummy · 01/05/2009 20:32

Oh the reason I posted before reading is cos I'm going to the supermarket when Poppy is asleep, which will be soon!

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2009 20:36

Oh god hmm. Dairy and soya free is an absolute bloody nightmare. Soya seems to be in just about everything now (as lecithins most frequently). I only did it for 2 or 3 weeks, and it was a PITA. There are lots of MNers who do have to do this though, for their dc at least, so starting a thread v good idea.

I'll eat my hat if it had anything to do with the swimming.

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 20:42

Hmm - How about a diet of rice cakes and water? I really really think you should see a nutritionist or a dietitian. They are specialists, unless your acupuncturist is also a qualified nutritionist/dietitian then how the hell does she know? You really don't want to deprive yourself of things unless there is an indication that you should do. Ooo I sound so bossy. A nutritionaist/dietitian can also give you a diet to help with the PND. It helped me so much and made such a huge difference to me. My PMT disappeared, my period pains disappeared, I didn't get bloated and I lost shed loads of weight. It is worth it.

Honeymoonmummy · 01/05/2009 20:51

She was sick in the pool CSWS, do you think that was just an instant reaction thing?

Can you remember what you COULD have when soya free, just to get me started?

Have started the thread in Food

Honeymoonmummy · 01/05/2009 20:55

I can't afford the time or money to see an osteo, acupuncture lady AND dietician. Besides, I'm seeing a paed dietician with Poppy soon so she'll have to look at my diet due to BF. I dunno if she is dietician, just that 2 friends went with baby-related probs and said she's brill I've had a headache and been compltely wiped out all afternoon. She said I was so exhausted she could hardly find a pulse
