Right. She asleep. Am off to tesco. Will talk properly later, thanks as ever guys xx

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/05/2009 21:10

Yes, she probably just swallowed water in the poo hmm. Dd was sick a few weeks ago after swimming, because she'd swallowed so much water (had new goggles, so was underwater more than normal), and she's 3, so def understandable for a baby prone to sickness.

I would have started thread in Allergies section rather than food, as the right people more likely to see it, so if you don't get a good response then start another.

Lots of meat and fresh veg I think. And dried pasta with bolognese or veg sauce. Or rice and ratatouille style stuff.

pool, not poo .

HMM, emma is also occasionally sick in the pool - i just swish it around . I think its partly excitement that makes her bring a little up!

RachieW · 01/05/2009 21:37

Oops posted twice- am clearly finding food very exciting! To think I used to be out on the town on a Friday now I get my kicks from curry and chocolate

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 21:56

Hmm - Sorry I nagged about the nutritionist, and yes I can see that all of those appointments would be pretty pricey. I have sent you a message on FB.

Honeymoonmummy · 01/05/2009 22:24

Hi all, I've just got back frm (O isn't wrking now!!) Sains.

Thanks MM, not read any others!

In short, I've cme hme with porridge rice milk and a lad of fruit and veg and nt much else. Still, hpefully this will be the lw pint and it will get better.

Going t bed cs knackered, will translate this in the morning!

x

Marthasmama · 01/05/2009 22:29

Your O worked at the end there!

Ekka · 01/05/2009 23:03

Hmm - I'm dairy & soya free & it is a PITA. The worst is bread which almost all has soya flour in (I found one in Morrisons - their 'Best' Wholegrain loaf, which doesn't, but it took about 30 mins of searching!)

Chocolate becomes tricky as well as most of them may not have dairy in, but do have soya lecithin. However, its good for the waistline as I've lost 2lb over 2 weeks .

To be honest, I do tend to cook most of our food from scratch, so really the only issue for me has been bread. I have been referred to a dietician, but not heard anything yet.

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/05/2009 06:19

breadmaker. That's what you need to be df and sf for any length of time.

Ds slept 7-6 with only 1 40min wake!

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 08:36

CSWS - Something very strange is going on as M slept from 7.30 - 6.15 with only one 45 min wake. I feel fantastic this morning!

DS thoroughly enjoyed his trampolining lesson and is up for continuing which is really good as we have been trying so hard to find him a good hobby/sport. He also wants to learn to play the drums which is good as he has a drum kit. DH is secretly gutted though as he is a guitarist. We have about 11 guitars between us. DS also wants skateboarding lessons and wants to play rugby when he's older. So hopefully this will be the start of a busy life for him!

Honeymoonmummy · 02/05/2009 09:45

Morning all! Thanks for your messages yesterday, I've caught up now.

MyJob, WOW!!!! I'm thrilled for you re weight gain

MM, had a laugh re LSD Martha

Congrats re sleep MM/ CSWS.

Ekka, I didn't even think about bread! I've not had any yet, had organic porridge with oat milk this morning mmmmm (HMM misses her DF choc spread ) Thanks for letting me know about Morrisons, I'll get some. I don't mind that small rye(?)bread loaf you can get, I assume that will be soya free too. I have a breadmaker but only DH has used it

She did tell me a chocolate I could have, it's dark choc, it's Tesco Finest 85% Ecuadorian organic. I'm allowed to have a chunk of it in the evening But I found some choc brownies in the free from range at sains (sains own brand) which don't seem to have soya or dairy in them (but i need to double check today).

I am really worried about the calories tho for BF, and esp as it's such a drastic change, I'm gonna be eating a fraction of the calories I had, I was prob having far too many. Do u think the huge stores of fat I have will ensure the breast milk is OK??? On the other hand, my diet is hardly healthy at the moment so anything would be an improvement.

MM I used to LOVE trampolining, I can't believe you can get lessons in it, I may look those up for myself (once my knees/ hips/ pelvis work again obv)

I have had a dull headache ever since the acupuncture yesterday and I feel a bit "fuzzy". It was really interesting, she was asking me stuff and it was all making sense and pointing to the same thing, she really impressed me. Apparently I'm a "hot" person and all my probs, including the knees, come from stomach probs. For example she reckons my stomach probs are the reason I couldn't complete the labour without forceps, she said everyone she's seen with stomach probs has had to have a c-section. She also guessed that I get more hot and sweaty than most in summer and that when I get headaches it is in my forehead...I could go on. It also explains why my skin isn't very good and why I get PMT & period pains apparently.

It was a revelation all in all. I think she said her sister was a dietician and she had studied her diets and brought the chinese medicine element into it. I know what you mean MM but I have to trust someone and try something and I have my friends recommendations so I know she is good, plus hopefully the paed dietician will be soon so I can get a second opinion there.

I was gonna do sweet potato today but am not sure whether to just stick to baby rice or leave it for a few days.

I've just tried Poppy in the door bouncer for the same time, she just turned round instead of bouncing but she seemed to like it, it was really sweet.

Wow, another epic post! Sorry for droning!

Honeymoonmummy · 02/05/2009 09:46

Wow that WAS an epic post! Feel free to have a doze halfway through folks

RachieW · 02/05/2009 09:46

A good night sleep here too. Ds is having 2 meals a day from today, he's polished off porridge with apple puree and a 5oz bottle- little piglet

I'm having a day shopping to myself- yay Enjoy your saturdays!

MM- glad ds enjoyed trampolining, I was never a sporty child but used to do that twice a week and loved it.

Hmm - This and this might be interesting for you. Ayurvedic medicine is ancient Indian theory and is based on three body types. Sounds like you'd be a pitta. Or a PITA!!! Ha ha ha!!! I am a mix of pitta (mainly my face is Pitta and my temper) and vata (although I am a fat one). It might be bobbins but it is worth a look if that sort of thing interests you and sounds very similar to the ideas the acupuncturist has. That chocolate is bloody delicious. It's my chocolate of choice. I have oat cakes instead of bread, I'm not sure whether there is soya in them, I'll check later and get back to you. I expect they probably do. And yes, definitely sweet potato. M loves it and DS loved it so much his nose turned orange!

Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 10:19

Oat cakes are soya free and I love them. As I recall CSWS is not so keen..... By the way I am munching some of that choc as I type, mmmmmmmm.......

Honeymoonmummy · 02/05/2009 10:22

Wow that's uncanny! I really am a PITA aren't I??

Will sweet potato constipate?

I've re-watched the video of us feeding Poppy yesterday, I should have seen the signs...we had given her too much, she was obv feeling sick, I can't believe i missed it. You'll see what i mean when u watch the vid on FB, I need to cut the end bit off first cos she really starts to look uncomfortable and it makes us look like crap parents!!!

Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 10:36

I am sure that sweet potato is full of fibre. Star seems to know her veg maybe she'll be able to shed some light. M had some toast with apricot puree ofr breakfast. She was very pleased with herself. Oh and she has spent most the morning rolling around on the floor after her toys. I knew she could, lazy mare! Oh and hmm - don't worry about the over-feeding. We have video of DH feeding ds when he was about 5 months. it's terrible. He just keeps shoveling it in . Ds kept eating though, you can't really force them to eat as they will just spit it out if they don't want it.

Honeymoonmummy · 02/05/2009 12:05

Aargh! Does steaming take longer than boiling?

aubergenie · 02/05/2009 12:09

HMM - Not sure if your breadmaker instruction book includes them, but I've got some recipes for rye bread in the breadmaker that I can type out for you if you would like. Also, sweet potato is full of fibre and vitamin C. Really good for you - much better than normal potato. S loves it!

Please send some of that sleep this way. S woke every two hours till two and then every hour after till 8 when dp took him off and let me have some more sleep.

MM- was today the first time M rolled? S STILL can't do it!

Went to Grand Designs Live yesterday. Now I want to live in an Eco home with chickens in the garden living in an eglu.

Marthasmama · 02/05/2009 12:22

Aubergenie - No, she has rolled a few times but today was the first time she has done it productively and without crying about it. She was rolling back and forth getting stuff to play with. She has started wanting a little bit of freedom, rather than being cuddled all the time. M hates being on her front so she used to stop herself rolling all the way. She is still useless on her front though and pretty wobbly when sitting. She's almost got her pincer gasp down though. Maybe S just doesn't wanna! That Eglu is cool! I'll show DH and he'll want chickens again.

Hmm - Steaming does take longer but it keeps all the goodness in. It's worth it.

Honeymoonmummy · 02/05/2009 13:03

The sweet potato was a BIG hit!
