Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Maveta · 06/05/2009 12:18

been meaning to ask - do any of your kids come into bed with you in the night? N starting coming into our bed a few months ago and now it's every single night, from about 11-12 in the evening.

Do yours do this? How do we try and break the cycle??

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 12:24

T does at the moment but only becuase DH is in the spare bed. There isn't room for 2 adults and one horizontal toddler in our bed!
We don't tend to do this often enough to make a habit of it - I've been going to bed late recently and so bring him in when he wakes at 5ish so I can sleep for another hour. Usually I'd just put him back in his cot while I have a shower or keep him up. How often is N up during the night?

Maveta · 06/05/2009 12:36

We started bringing him at 5am when he woke up to get an extra hour or so but he just moved that further and further back til 11/12. He doesn't wake apart from this and to be honest he now sleeps til 6.30-7.30 with us whereas I am worried if we force the issue and put him back in his bed he may well revert to 5am waking. I think this is why we are letting it drag on..

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 12:48

yes, I don't blame you. Is it worth trying once though, just to see what happens? He might surprise you!

Eddas · 06/05/2009 13:30

i let dc come int o our bed ocassionally, but normally if one has woken the other, I let the one that isn't being a PITA in our bed IYSWIM!

TBH, i've never started the whole bedsharing thing as I like my space and sleep and dd was such a wriggler! I think if I were you i'd stop him doing it now rather than later. My friend still has her dd1(4.8ish) coming in with her, although it's not so often now, but she does get her dd2 in quite often instead! You will have problems for a few nights, but i've found with most changes of routine it should only take a few nights to change.

Not sure if that helps but it's my opinion for all that's worht

Hello everyone btw

I am very guilty of reading the thread, posting on one thing and then running off forgetting the rest so it looks like I don't care about anything else, but I do read it all

Octo, poor little E hope you manage to sort something out for him soon it sounds painful

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 14:09

Fridge freezer has arrived, so now I can get stressed about taking C for his jabs!

I'm probably not the best person to ask as I cheat and don't really have both of them on my own - dp or someone else has always been here when D isn't at the CM.

Eek at the lost mobile Dippy, hope it turns up. When was the last time you called or answered a call on it, or sent/read a text, do you know?

Northernlurker · 06/05/2009 18:29

Oooggs - would the news about the future for Devonport affect you and your dp at all? I hope not!

oooggs · 06/05/2009 22:30

Its not good NL will have to wait and see. I don't fancy Faslane or Barrow!

liath · 06/05/2009 22:52

Hi everyone!

Maveta, could you stick N's bed in your room? We did that with dd when she went through a phase of wanting to sleep with us. Less disruptive than bed sharing!

SPB, I think dd spent a lot of time BFing her baby Annabel doll while I fed ds .

Not a lot happening here, I am trying to get fit at the moment as a friend conned pursuaded me and DH to join a team for the marathon relay at the end of the month. Then my sister conned pursuaded me that it'd be a fab idea to do a 20 mile hill-race with her in July . Actually, I'm really looking forward to that but it'll take a LOT of mars bars to get me round!!

Off Darn Sarf next week to see other sister and new niece - am not especially looking forward to the train journey and trying to entertain ds in particular.....

liath · 06/05/2009 22:53

What's up oooggs?

Northernlurker · 06/05/2009 23:21

Liath here

Oh dear Oooggs - hope you don't have to wait too long but it does sound like the sort of thing that can drag on and on before you hear for definate.

geordieminx · 07/05/2009 09:50

Oooggs - Faslane isnt far from Liath and me! Every cloud and that...

Sorry, hope everything sorts itself out for you, the country really is in a shit state of affairs just now, and the government dont seem to give a rats arse

oooggs · 07/05/2009 10:29

dh works on submarines, the whole yard will be affected by anything moving and as usual we also found out via the bbc news

bugger I have just eaten a whole packet of toffypops

My job isn't looking good either. Hope I still have one when I am due to go back!! Just hoping that the housing market picks up and borrowing increases

Just going to put some photos on of our newest additions

oooggs · 07/05/2009 10:51

the newest additons to the house added now

MJreturns · 07/05/2009 13:21

Oooggs, the boys new bedrooms look fab! Bet you are glad to finally get it all sorted
Hope you hear some positive news for dh's job soon xx

I am here by myself today. Would normally be working but have taken an A/L day as it is ds's 6th birthday. I cannot believe 6 years has gone by! He is in school but will be home by half three. He was nearly in tears going in today because he wanted to stay home and play with his new toys
His teacher was waiting for him though, and as soon as he walked in she got all the children to shout "Happy Birthday Ethan!!" so that cheered him up a bit!

I have choc chip muffins in the oven for later, and have the task of making a Ben 10 cake complete with alien figures for his party on Sunday
I tried to get ds to have the Ben 10 cake that is in Tesco's but he wouldn't, and he has got me on a technicality because I hand made Ffion's birthday cake this year!

Anyway, hope everyone is ok, see you later ladies xxx
