Been trying to get T to sleep, had to leave him screaming
Glad B is better. Now we're on the subject of poo, T has been having runny nappies and lots. Think it's just the antibiotics he's on, again, but it's giving him a chapped bum and me chapped hands
oooggs, glad J likes his new bed Can't wait to get T into his, all that lifting over for a while!

MJreturns · 05/05/2009 10:33

Morning ladies

I haven't been around for a few days, worked the end of last week, then worked Sunday night so slept part of Monday, then am meant to be working tonight again for the agency.

I am really toying with the idea of cancelling my shift as I am absolutely exhausted. It is a long drive there and back, and it feels like a really long way after an 11.5 hour night shift. What do you think?

Hope everyone is well, haven't really caught up properly. See you later xx

StealthPolarPig · 05/05/2009 12:31

Hi everyone
Not sure MJ - what do you have planned for tomorrow? Can you relax or will you not stop?

MJreturns · 05/05/2009 13:27

My dad will have F in the morning for me so I could get a few hours sleep. I think I will just go in and be done with it, will be glad I did when I get paid!

CaptainDippy · 05/05/2009 13:46

I'd do it for the money personally, but we are skint atm so I would say that!

How is poor little B today SOL?? Any better?

Happy Birthday! - to Danny and Charlie for yesterday and Harriet and Sophie for today

MJreturns · 05/05/2009 14:08

I am in the skint camp too CD!
Yep, I am going to work the shift. I would feel too guilty for not going in tbh!

Sexonlegs · 05/05/2009 14:51

Hi all.

MJ, I think I would do it too, as knackering as it is. It is such a pita that we can't all win the lottery

B is fine thanks. She was only sick once at 7 a.m. and was back to normal (ie mouthy and fiesty!!). However she had a croupy cough at 5.30 this morning, so I have kept her off school just as a precaution.

I am knackered.

Hope everyone is ok.

Dooby, how is ds settling at school?

Doobydoo · 05/05/2009 21:28

StealthPolarPig · 05/05/2009 21:31

hi everyone
Nice to see you dooby
DH is ill! Also has an upset stomach, could that be caused by the virus, or is he just a wreck?

geordieminx · 05/05/2009 21:37

I'm back. And cold. Very very cold.

Northernlurker · 05/05/2009 21:39

Hi all

Lovely but busy weekend here. My aunt got married on Saturday and all the girls were bridesmaids. B was lovely (once we'd fought her into her petticoat). Then on Sunday we did church and sorted out dd2 with some plants to grow, tubs etc - she was very keen to get gardening. Yesterday we went out for a walk on the Moors and then had friends and their little ones over for tea. All very nice - but exhausting and then back to work today.

Happy Birthday to all the birthday poppets It does feel like 2 years to me oddly enough - B is getting big and that's lovely, really feel like I'm done with baby stuff now. Our friends have an 8 week old and she is beautiful but it doesn't make me broody at all.

Maveta - how awful about your bag - no sign of the stuff?

Right - going to mumsnet a bit more and then get off to bed.

Octothechildherder · 05/05/2009 21:42

Hello - Congrats Leaky - thanks for the text pillock!

Hope you are all well and 2 year olds not driving you insane!!!

Sexonlegs · 05/05/2009 21:47

Evening all.

Lovely to see you Dooby. Glad to hear ds1 seems to be getting on ok.

NL, sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Ikwym re the little ones growing up. I am loving K at this stage; she is such a cheeky monkey.

SPP, hope your dh is ok. Sounds like a virus; as I said B was sick just the once, and then today has croup which is viral - so perhaps your dh's ailments are all inter-linked??? Did T settle last night? K went through a week of screaming at bedtime which was hellish, but she always settled herself in the end - even it did take half an hour!

GM, welcome back. Did you have fun??

All ok here - can't believe it is nearly 10 though - where does the time go?

Off to bed in a mo, so see you lovelies tomorrow.

Sexonlegs · 05/05/2009 21:48

x-post Octo. How's E; saw he was poorly from your FB message.

Octothechildherder · 05/05/2009 22:22

Thanks SOL

Ernie has been limping for about 10 days and it could have been a septic hip which is quite serious - been in and out of hosp 3 times but they haven't scanned him which is really annoying as he is still hobbling along! Not really sure what to do - everytime we see a doctor he turns on the charm!

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 08:13

Hi everyone
Thanks SOL. I am sympathetic because DH is very ill (worse than man flu!!) but also a bit irritated and just want it to be over!
Hi octo - that sounds awful about e's hip - what would have caused that and what can they do about it? Never heard of it.
NL, all your girls being bridesmaids sounds lovely - do you have any pictures?
gm, why are you cold?
Heard on the news that there are signs the economy is recovering

oooggs · 06/05/2009 08:14

morning

hi octo

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 10:23

Hope Octo that you get the help that E needs, and SOL that B recovers well soon.

Whinge alert, I'm feeling a bit down.

I'm really tired - I had a spell where C was sleeping unexpectedly well, and for his age he probably does sleep quite well at night still, but he's taking longer to go back to sleep at his feed when I go to bed, and waking up earlier. Last night he was really chatty, and I probably slept from 1.30 when he settled or I just zonked out (he may have still beeen chatting in his basket!) to 5.30 when he woke up crying (he went back to sleep but I didn't). I think he's teething - Danny was quite early with teeth and there's quite a lot of evidence with C, but he appears to be quite monstrously hungry as well at the moment.

I can't even go out and do something to cheer myself up as I'm expecting a new fridge-freezer delivered this afternoon - a rather urgent purchase as our ancient fridge freezer packed up suddenly - the freezer continued to work though not as well as it should have done, but the fridge wasn't at all. I'm probably going to have to rearrange C's jabs appointment this afternoon, had hoped that various people might be able to help me out but it's unlikely to work out that way unless the fridge-freezer arrives by 2 pm.

MJreturns · 06/05/2009 10:51

Oh Elkie, sorry to hear you are feeling down. It really can be tough going with 2 little ones, made worse by lack of sleep too. Would you be able to get out of the house today even with the dc's? I often find that a bit of fresh air can lift my spirits, even if I can't actually get a bit of time to myself

Octo, good to see you but sorry to hear E is not great. Hope you get his hip sorted soon. Are you going back for another check or have they just left things for now?
My advice to you would be to become a pita parent and keep nagging for something to be done. Believe me, it is those who shout the loudest that tend to get things sorted more quickly ime.

Maveta, I was really sorry to read about you losing your bag. Did it turn up? Hope you are ok

Ok, I am off to bed for a couple of hours. Did work the shift last night and am now very tired. Night ladies!

MJreturns · 06/05/2009 10:57

Ok, so I read that properly and realise that you actually can't go out Elkie. Hope that the fridge freezer arrives early for you, and if you need to cancel C's jabs for this week I am sure it won't really matter.
I remember with ds I took him to every appointment on time, but with F I was far more relaxed and rescheduled a few of hers!

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 11:47

oh elkie hope you get your good sleeper back soon

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 11:50

Meant to ask you (well and really anyone who has coped with a toddler and a newborn but you'll be recent!) what you do with the older one while you're feeding the baby? I'm constantly having to chase after T to stop him doing stuff etc, do you just sit back and accept your house will be trashed? Or do you feed on the go? I must dig out my sling and have a go with it!

CaptainDippy · 06/05/2009 11:51

Don#t be too hard on yourself, just take things as they come and accept any help you can

Lost my mobile Hoping it will turn up, but hope diminishing by the hour ....

StealthPolarPig · 06/05/2009 11:54

oh no dippy! Shall I ring it for you?

Maveta · 06/05/2009 12:04

Hello, sorry to have posted and run but it was a pretty hectic weekend in the end, losing my bag was just one event. Thanks for all the sympathy, it's very annoying but I only let myself mope that first night then that's that. I am still upset about N's memory book though I know it's nothing in the big scheme of things. And there's a long annoying road of replacing paperwork that we've just started (lots of spanish bureaucracy - uurgh!) but I'm trying not to dwell on it.

Happy Birthday to those that have passed since I was last on - don't want to list those I remember for fear of offending those I don't!! hope you had a lovely day all of you.

Hope you are feeling a bit better Elkie and that your fridge has arrived leaving you a bit more free.

Octo - sorry about E's hip, I've never heard that either, hope you get the attention he needs asap.

Hearing tests - are these routine in the UK? N's never had one.

I am not sure how tall he is now, he weighs almost 14kgs I think and about 90cms?? Not sure about shoe size. He has some 5.5 wellies that still fit him, everything else I think it 23 european, not sure what that is in UK sizes. He wears 2-3 yr old clothes, 2 yrs for bottoms mostly as he has a big gut but little hips and bum like a 60yr old man and 3yrs for t-shirts (see aforementioned big gut).

Getting warm here, started cracking out the summer clothes and orders from nursery to send N in with suncream already applied and he is looking the tiniest wee bit sunkissed already (brown not red) from a couple of days at the weekend that we went out without cream .

Roll on summer!
