PHD, your little ones are lovely. Has In the Night Garden been imported to Australia?

oooggs · 24/04/2009 14:04

James is moving into his new room tomorrow afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will sort out some pics when it is sorted before he trashes it

liath · 24/04/2009 17:32

Congratulations Leaky and PHD!

cazboldy · 24/04/2009 18:50

vet visit went fairly well.

she halved his painkillers as she doesn't think he is in too much pain.

he has got to have box rest for 6 weeks, and keep his pads on his feet to take his weight off his toes.

She said it is unlikely that there will be any permenant damage which is obviously good.

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2009 18:56

oh that's good news caz

Claire2009 · 24/04/2009 20:02

leakyR · 24/04/2009 20:37

Quickie as outlaws here and I'm shattered.

Thanks for all the congrats messages and texts.

Wasn't quite the hb I planned.

Went to bed after last night's post/upset tum. Woke at 1ish with contractions. Let dh sleep until 1.40. Was immediately having 3 contractions per 10 mins.
Moved downstairs and put on TENS and phoned hospital for them to send out community mw at 2.10. I was shocked by how painful the contractions seemed and how quickly they were coming. Coped by standing hanging onto mantelpiece and using breathing techniques from NCT class. 2.50 waters broke and I immediately felt urge to bear down. MW arrived at 3 to tell me the 2nd mw was attending another hb and after examining me I might have to transfer to hospital.
DH got on the phone to my friend to get her to come round for G and I got on the couch.
After giving up on doppler a quick look told the mw that I was fully dilated and the head was coming. Quickly put a few mats on the floor and 3 pushes later the lovely Iris had entered the world.
No drugs, no birth pool, NO TIME!

Had lots of lovely skin to skin. My friend arrived just as I was delivering placenta. Made coffee for dh and mw and then went home.
Iris fed really well this morning but has been v sleepy this afternoon. Still no poo.

Do you know anyone who wants to buy an unused birth pool?

leakyR · 24/04/2009 20:40

BTW DH was fantastic! Calm and encouraging and really great.

I recommend NCT classes to anyone!

Claire2009 · 24/04/2009 20:54

Wow leaky! What a birth! Thats fantastic & fast! How are you feeling? Are you sore?

I've never had a VB ..do feel like I've missed out too.

Northernlurker · 24/04/2009 21:32

Leaky - that sounds fast but fantastic! A special well done for your dh - he really came through for you didn't he - feel quite teary just thinking about it! Iris has the same birthday as my sister btw

I'm sure you could sell your birthpool on here - must be someone needing one.

Afternoon all!

J just done a poo & a wee on the potty! its perhaps pure fluke but he was making noises & sat on it & then got up & shut it & wondered off! (Lindam Seat thingy, its real big)

oooggs · 25/04/2009 19:41

Leaky & dh you stars

Tonight is the night - the room is finished and ds1 will be sleeping in it!!!!

ds2 will move into his next weekend

Claire thats great - well done J

sol - Pimms sounds good

dippy - I'm shattered too, bed too late last night

runnyhabbit · 25/04/2009 22:19

Evening

Leaky - Such wonderful news. Had to admit to feeling very nostalgic over hb

W had a very high temp last night (39.1), shivering, crying, and then threw up everywhere (I was shocked, because in nearly 4 years of being a mum, neither of the boys have been sick) Spoke to NHS direct, who told me we were doing everything right (by this point he was just in his nappy) Me and dh got very little sleep, but this morning, W is right as rain Temp has come right down, and he's eating and drinking for Wales. He's got quite a few spots over his tummy and back, so I'm thinking either chickenpox (which has been going around J class) or viral rash.

Off to bed very soon
x

Claire2009 · 25/04/2009 23:12

RunnyHabbit (Love the name btw! )

Poor W How is he tonight? J had something similar for 2wks not long ago, temp and shivers every night & he ended in just a nappy, I was doing calpol, nurofen & damp flannel trying to cool him & that was just eventually working. He had no rash anywhere & I took him to the Gp 5 times in that 2wks & called Nhs Direct a few times too. It just didnt seem right!

It wasn't too long ago, maybe 2 mths ish. But it was apparently viral & just had to keep going..
M got it as well but nowhere near as bad!

Off to bed soon myself! Been playing "The never ending level game"

What time do your LO's wake? J wakes around 6.30-7am..

StealthPolarBear · 26/04/2009 07:06
