Congratulations Aunty Runny! Congratulations to your SIL and hubby too

Good to "see" you Leaky!
Morning - just off on school run, shattered already!

Happy Birthday Gabriel, Noah & Coco! Hope you all have lovely days - wherevery ou are (I miss Mav )

Right, best crack on .....

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 10:48

I miss Mav too CD! She hasn't been on in ages. Perhaps all this talk of her will bring her back, it seems to have worked in the past with others!

I am working tonight for the agency again. I feel tired already just thinking about it. I am fed up of being bloody skint all the time. All the extra money I have earned so far has just gone on bills and it is getting me down now.
Dh is earning an extra £60 for a small job outside work this week. I think "thank goodness, a bit of extra money to see us through until pay day", he thinks "I am off to buy bait so that I can go fishing this weekend".
I think that this is a big reason for our problems just now as we just do not look at our financial situation in the same way. I earn extra to pay bills and keep us afloat, but he earns it for himself. It is really pissing me off He is going away for a week of fishing in France at the end of May, but clearly that isn't enough for him. I feel like I have no life and nothing to look forward to

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 10:49

And now I am crying I am so fed up

geordieminx · 28/04/2009 11:36

Awh MJ......... Wil sitting down and having it out with him hve any effect?

Is there anyone in RL you can talk to?

((((((hugs)))))))

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 11:45

Thanks GM
I am sorry to come here and be such a misery. We have had the same conversation over and over again tbh, and it doesn't seem to get me anywhere. For a short time things will be better, but inevitably, things slip back to the way they are at the moment.

I also know that he has been selling some of his fishing bits recently although I think he thinks I am dumb and won't notice. I haven't seen the money though, and he wouldn't tell me about it because he knows I will tell him to pay it off his credit card. I paid £100 off his credit card a few weeks ago when I got paid for one of my extra shifts, I must be off my head.

geordieminx · 28/04/2009 11:48

Awh thats shit MJ. Could you sit down with all the bills and bank statements and show him exactly how skint you are, and re-work your finances?

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 11:59

I could try, maybe seeing things on paper would make it hit home.
It's not that we are totally on our arses, but we do need some extra cash to keep us afloat iykwim, hence me working some extra hours lately.
I wish that he could have the same outlook as me, but he just doesn't. The way he looks at things is that the bills can be paid as long as he has the things he wants (does that make sense?).
The thing that gets me is that I have very little in the way of luxuries for myself as I would rather let my children have them iykwim, but he seems to think because he works he is entitled to have whatever he feels he needs to continue his f**king hobby.
If he hasn't got the money in the bank he will use his credit card instead (and that is part of the reason we are now struggling). No more though as he has hiked it up to it's limit now.

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 12:15

Off now, need to go and pick up F from playgroup. Thanks GM for listening x

cazboldy · 28/04/2009 12:49

Oh Mj so sorry you are feeling so down xx

Claire2009 · 28/04/2009 13:10

Happy Birthday to Noah, Gabriel & Coco

Congratulations on becoming an Aunty, Runny!

Mj, Sorry your feeling down. Hugs to you & I hope it gets better for you soon x x x

Its thundering & pouring with rain here! Both kids upstairs playing ...

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 14:44

Thanks ladies Feel like I am in my own little world just now, wrapped up in my own problems. I do feel a bit better for having off loaded here though so thankyou.

My mum is picking up the dc's from me just after 4pm to give me an hour for a bath before I have to leave for work. It is a fair trek from me and will take me about an hour and a half to get to, but the pay is about £200 for the night after deductions so I just have to think about that.
I honestly don't know what I would do without my parents for support in RL, they are truly fantastic.

Runny, how is the baby? Gorgeous I am sure, so causing even more broodiness for you and dh!!

MJreturns · 28/04/2009 14:44

And Happy Birthday to Noah, Gabriel and Coco

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2009 18:06

Hi everyone
Mj, don't blame you for being annoyed and upset. Sounds as though your priorities are totally different
Well I went to an MN meet up this afternoon which was lovely but stressful as T spent most of the time tantrumming (when he wasn't stuffing chocolate brownie in his mouth ) Wouldn't be strapped into his car seat on the way home - I had to doa couple of laps of the car park to settle him before I could tighten the straps!

CaptainDippy · 28/04/2009 18:51

here SPB. hope the MN lots you saw were a nice bunch anyway

I'm feel a bit weird. A bit faint and sicky - not nice

Right, best force gently persuade children to bed

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2009 19:13

They were Dippy
Hope you have an early night and feel better in the morning

Doobydoo · 28/04/2009 19:22

So sory you are having a tough time MJ...Hope dh sorts his priorities
Congrats on being Auntie Leaky[broody eh?]
Totally know where you are coming from re tantrums SPB...Mhas had quite a few since he has been poorly[takes after me]
Hope you feel better soon Dippy.
SOL..Hope your mumis continuing to go from strength to strength.
The boiler here has now been fixed[what is it with us and boilers]
I have applied for 4 jobs with the Council.3 are the same but in different areas.
How jargony are councils? All I can think of jargon wise are 'our cocks are on the block'which I don't think suitable
I f I have no luck I will do me nursing in Sept.
Hi to all I have missed.
Hope you all ok.xxxx

Doobydoo · 28/04/2009 19:23

IRIS is a beautiful nameCongrats again.

Northernlurker · 28/04/2009 19:29

I won a prize in a mumsnet competition!

Still knackered here, pouring with rain, lots to do.

Hope you feel better soon Dippy and that the jobs come good Dooby!

How is poor pony Caz?

Dh and I are feeling the lack of nice recreation type stuff in our lives as well. It's all a bit of a treadmill at the moment so we're going to make a big effort. First plan - a nice day out on BH Monday. Hope the weather is ok. I think we need our holiday really but that's not till August. We are going up to the inlaws for a few days at the end of next month - I think I will insist dh and I go out for a meal ALONE!

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2009 19:34

woo hoo NL, what did you win?
ikwym about planning fun stuff. DH and I are going to see Ross Noble on Friday (won a radio phone in ) and I can't wait - not so much the comedy, just a meal and night out. Sometimes just planning stuff, even months in advance is enough to give you a lift.

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2009 19:34

oh and if the bh weekend is nice we'll go to a local park to feed the deer

Northernlurker · 28/04/2009 19:37

£100 worth of Heathcote smellies etc. Really excited

StealthPolarBear · 28/04/2009 19:43

ooh lovely!

Sexonlegs · 28/04/2009 20:52

Evening all.

Lots to catch up on!

Runny, congrats on being an auntie

Dippy, hope you are feeling ok.

NL, fab news about your win! I never win anything!!

Dooby, lovely to see you xx

Caz, how is the pony?

MJ, I am sorry you are still feeling low. I can understand why when it is apparent that your dh is not on the same wavelength re finances. Would make me feel very resentful. I think you need to sit down and talk about finances again as GM suggested.
Really feel for you and wish I was nearer to give you a hug xx

Claire, any more success on the potty?? Not you obviously

SPB, how is T's ear?

Brain drain now. Had a fab time with my cousins - really relaxing. Stressed again now though!

leakyR · 28/04/2009 20:54

Dooby confused me calling me Aunty Leaky! Thought you guys knew something I didn't

Congrats on your new nephew Runny. George is a LOVELY name

MJ sounds like things are crappy atm. Hope you can sort things out.

Happy birthday Noah, Coco and Gabriel. I miss Mav too.

Hope you're feeeling ok Dippy. your gift was well timed (she sent me breast pads ), my milk is well and truly in and I am indeed living up to my mumsnet name. Was surprised to discover that after all the hours I've spent sitting next to him on the laptop, dh did not know my mn name or why I had chosen it.

Can't believe I've got time to be on here. DD (first time I've typed that!!!) is such a chilled out baby so far.
