Morning all.
The relaxation of yesterday already seems so far away Jamlet was trouble this morning, and I am on leave today, but what am I doing? Loggin onto work computer to get all the info i need for going to London tomorrow (and yes I will be staying over, back about midnight on Friday). And then I've got to clean the house up before I go so that DH & jamlet can manage and that it's reasonably presentable for when ILs arrive on Thursday. Great day off eh? Ah well!

Rialentless · 11/05/2009 11:11

wonder if DH has been reading my posts - he has been helping wash the windows outside and even went up the ladder with the long brush to do upstairs, and made me a cup of tea, then asked if I was putting the PC on because then he could go on the Wii while he had his cup of tea. He also came home about 8.30, so in time to take DS2 to school (luckily as I was ready for packing and leaving at about 7.15 baggins got up at 5am, I nodded off again and he took his pooey nappy off - DS1 thought this was hilarious. DS1 has lost his fecking bus pass again and is blaming DS2. This morning I did not like them)

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 11:29

I went to work and got sent home sick
I have been off for a week now
[dying face]

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 11:37

Hope you feel better soon Fury....its so shit being ill when you're pg. At least they sent you home....in the NHS you just have to carry on!

Would've been my dad's birthday today....only 66....life is very unfair sometimes

Good for your DH Ria . Hope it lasts

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/05/2009 11:46

Sorry about your Dad Norty. It must be hard for you and your family

Yay for your DH Ria. Make sure he gets some praise

Fury, I know it's pants but try to take it easy. You know it makes sense in the long run. How is DS being now - I saw on your other thread that you'd had a good day, did that continue this morning?

Having a quick sit down mid-housework. Kitchen and dining room are shining (well floor still to wash but otherwise...). Now to tidy living room and spare room, clean bathroom, wash/hoover floors, mow the grass and finish the laundry. Then I've got some plants to pot out and I'd like to fit in some exercise or a trip to the gym before getting Jamlet from nursery. Phew!

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 11:53

Blimey Jammy, you need to write a book on being a domestic goddess.

Yes we have had a better day or two... he's an old child. Sometimes he honestly acts like he hates me. Having said that he wasn't too bad this morning, not sure what has changed but we seem to have turned a corner yesterday.

Norty, so sorry for you and your family. I dread the day I lose someone I love, it must be so difficult.

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 12:06

That's the thing with toddlers I find....they're so fickle and change their minds / turn corners at will....without warning their parents.....hopefully when you're on mat leave Fury, that will help as well.

Would you like to come and do this house Jammy?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2009 12:07

Thinking of you Norty {{{hugs}}}. It's almost four years since my Dad died (on Father's Day ); birthdays and christmas are difficult and Father's Day is a bit of a wash out.

God I feel rough this morning!

Natty, saw your FB post...what's up with DD?

bumble is still very spotty today but is his usual cheerful self so am assuming the same viral thing that the older two have had.

Meant to say last night "don't talk to me about OPC"

DS1 and our neighbour's DS who is 10 trashed our greenhouse yesterday . OK, it's only one of those frame things with the see through tarpaulin over it, and yes one of the roof members had snapped, but it was fixable and will cost £50 to replace. The little shites pulled the frame to bits and twisted it out of all recognition, and got DH's wrecking bar out of the garage to help them do it. When DH asked DS what happened to it, he just looked up nonchalantly and said "oh, yeah, me and J did it". no guilt or remorse or sheepishness on his part at all and . Angry doesn't describe how DH and I feel about it. He is grounded for a week which DH said means homework as soon as he is home from school and then his bed with a book; no TV, no toys, nothing. All very well for him to say, but I'm flying solo again tonight.

I'm feeling very about it all; I seem to have raised a brood of ungrateful, thoughtless terrors.

Daisy that's horrible

I don't blame you for feeling so sad

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 12:57

So Daisy....what did you get up to whilst inebriated last night then?

That's so about Fathers Day....my dad went the same year in August....just a couple of months later.

PITA about the greenhouse and DS1.....was the OPC the ringleader? Did you tell your neighbour?

Hope DD is ok Natty?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2009 13:00

Ach, it gets easier.

did I miss an earlier post? what's up with you fury? is it your back/pelvis again or some sort of nasty lurgy?

Is it just me or "waybuloo" on CBeebies the biggest load of shoite ever broadcast? Here I am trying to get my toddler to talk properly and there are a load of (much older) kids all talking like they are babies .....and what queer looking children as well. Dd is fascinated, typically!

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 13:09

Daisy I have Swine Flu or something like it.

I can hardly breathe. Luckily I can still read and type.

Rialentless · 11/05/2009 13:31

sorry you are ill fury, glad things are a bit better with DS though.

for you norty (and you for Fathers day daisy), life is terribly unfair sometimes. Last week it was 5 years since my gran died and for the first time I didn't even realise it was the anniversary until 2 days later. She would have loved baggins

for you about your greenhouse daisy. DS2s "friend" from down the street broke our swing (she lives maybe 6 doors away and her parents rang her mobile last niht to tell her she was late, DS1s friend wrote on his bed frame with permanent marker. (not yesterday, but other times). Another mum at achool told me that another boy from DS1s circle was at her house and got pissed off so he went and got a knife from the kitchen drawer and had it at another boys throat (not sure which though, DS1s story - he wasn't there thank goodness - was it was the other way round to what she said). Did I menton DS1 has lost his mobile phone, and does't seem to care about inding it. They are irritating little buggers sometimes (and DH always hands out stupid punishements then buggers off to work)

well done on your day jammy - do you think you need any extra exercise? sounds like you're working out while working!

phew, long post, sorry (waiting for the sun to go round the house so I can do the back windows, and have run out of planting to do)

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 15:39

Has anyone watched 'Changeling'?

I just watched it. Horrible movie.
Good, but horrible, IYSWIM.

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 16:07

DD is sending me NUTS!

been crying all afternoon for her daddy.....well he can have her when he gets home!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/05/2009 16:38

snap here norty.

DD has been screaming since 2 oclock. niothing i try is making her happy for mpore tham about two secs.

she is hysterical and I don't know how to snap her outn of it. she is sitting on my lap screaming for a cuddle, but if I cuddle her she is screaming sahe wants down.

I have had to abandon all hlope of feeding DS2..and she is waving a breadstick around which she wont esat but wont let go of and it has pokred me in the eye waaay too many times.

why did i not just stop at one. seruiously thinking of listing them on ebay or breakung out the cooking sherry or gin or somethinfg.

arse tyuping...cant do it one haneded witb a toddler hanging off me.

fuvckimg fuck, bumble has started as well now

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 17:02

at your typing Daisy.....mine has been hanging off me as well today.

DS has only cat-napped today which hasn't helped.

I find that when 1 screams, it starts the other one off. I've done far too much shouting today .

Roll on bedtime!

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 17:05

What is wrong with the world when the most read news story on the BBC website is the one about Katie Price and Peter Andre splitting up?

Sputnik · 11/05/2009 17:27

Tandem screaming is the worst, my sympathies to both of you. Hope things have calmed down.

Rialentless · 11/05/2009 18:03

are they?

my DH has been replaced by an alien-being replica

DS1 is sulking cos I wont give him £15 to go to Headingley with school next week (can't cos dh hasnt been paid again and as we don't know when they'll bother to pay him I have to hang on to what bit of cash I have)

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 18:58

Peter and Katie splitting up?!

Must go read it

Daisy, you can have my DS too. He's currently hyper.
And he just ate...
chicken and mushroom risotto
garlic bread
large slice of lemon drizzle cake and cream
lindt chocolate bunny (left over from easter)
2 x handfuls of blueberries
2 x frubes

HellHathNoFury · 11/05/2009 19:03

Now he's downing milk

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 19:13

Both mine are in bed! Thank God

Fuck - what a day.....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/05/2009 19:25

Must be something in the air. Jamlet apparently was really happy all day at nursery, but cried all the way home on the bus for me!

Didn't make it to the gym in the end (but will do in the morning), and the kitchen floor will get washed tomorrow but I did all my other jobs Got to get myself ready tonight though. Not really looking forward to it tbh.
