. Does make sense....I can't see that light though just yet!

When are you moving Sputnik? Are you excited? or just stressed?

LackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2009 22:20

Not sure what to get DD; she loves the home corner at the children's centre and play food etc, but she also loves her dollies so we thought about a nice pram as the only one she has is a cheapo stroller that doesn't steer.

PILs are getting her a cleaning trolley as I'm fed up with her steering the full size brush around the kitchen. they called tonight to ask whether she has an iron and ironing table and could they get her that as well. I said by all means, but I'm not entirely sure she would know what to do with it

More concerning for us is her behaviour recently though......any advice?

makes perfect sense sputnik......the first bit is hard, but I love the around six months age; and given the behaviour of my older two this week; I definately prefer babies!!

i know you guys love me

im off to bed now but wanted to make myself clear, i wasnt complaining about u lot, u guys keep me sane!

justbeme · 09/05/2009 22:25

Not sure I can comment Daisy - best to remove her and divert her attention to something else.

Sputnik · 09/05/2009 22:27

Re birthday parties, up to now we have only had small parties for family and a few friends. When they're little there's no need for a big party IMO, they may not even enjoy it. Re presents DS is mostly getting "a box full of cars" (DD's idea!)

LackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2009 22:29

she was doing it tonight at bedtime; she wouldn't stay in bed, but was banging her head on the wall and then shouting "sore head mummy"

OP posts:
justbeme · 09/05/2009 22:35

Don't they make you laugh sometimes - although you don't want her to hurt herself at the same time! Surely its because she cant express herself and maybe attention too.

I know Sputnik, with DD1, the most expensive party she had was a McDonalds one when she was 6. some people go to town and then that put the pressure on you.

Sputnik · 09/05/2009 22:36

Daisy, I'm off to bed but just 2 things quickly. The tantrumming always gets worse if they're ill so maybe she'll stop once she's better, and meanwhile put her in a soft place with pillows or something.

My DS has been doing similar in that he lies down and throws himself backwards, doesn't seem to care about banging his head.

I have a (whispers) Baby Whisperer book somewhere that talks about a little boy basically holding his family hostage with the headbanging thing, I'll take a look for you. She is quite good on toddlers, though crap for eg bf.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/05/2009 22:38

DS1 is getting a bike this year so no party as the bike is a bit dear (although maybe I should consider 2nd hand)

DD, we may have a few friends from stay and play over for a wee tea party, although we usually have a barbecue and invite family and friends for DC birthdays.

justbeme · 09/05/2009 22:47

Right - Im off - night night - nice to "chat" with you all again.
ps my FB status was about DD1 forgetting me - typical teenager, but it was nice of some of you to speak!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2009 07:00

Morning. Daisy, sorry about DD's tantrums. They sound horrible, especially the headbanging. Good luck!

Why oh why did my period have to start yesterday, when I'm off to the spa today And why did jamlet have to wake at 6am?

Re birthdays, we're looking at getting jamlet a sandpit and a (2nd hand) climbing frame or something. And we have some of her little friends and their mums (or is that some of my friends and their DCs ) coming to play for the afternoon. I'll do a few sandwiches and stuff and make a cake, but it'll just be a few toys out in the garden (weather permitting, otherwise the house will be pretty crowded.)

Good to see you JBM! Glad things are OK.

HellHathNoFury · 10/05/2009 07:43

Does anyone want my 2 year old?

I resign

Hello JBM

HellHathNoFury · 10/05/2009 07:57

any advice??

Rialentless · 10/05/2009 08:59

have read your other thread fury and haven't posted on there as my advice a bit weak compared to the others! I would stick with it and try carry on as best you can, blow kisses if he won't tolerate real ones, could you make a game out of getting dressed and stuff? (not an easy thing to do if you're pushed for time) try and ignore the worst bits if you can. DS1 spends a fair bit of time hating me, but it's a lot easier to ignore a 12 yo than it is a littley

have a great time today jammy

has bumper gone now? have a good time bumper!!!

TheNatty · 10/05/2009 09:36

aw fury thomas was always like this, until recently when he suddenly decided he likes me.
he used to scream if i looked at him, would arch his back if i tried to cuddle him.

he just grew out of it.

not much help i know, but i have no idea what snapped him out of it

LackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2009 10:54

I've posted for you fury.....but more in a oooh, you have my sympathy rather than anything helpful I'm afraid! I'm thinking about starting a terrible twos support thread though

Just remember foxy's wise words...."they need our love most when they deserve it least"

and not sure if he is too young for it, but often when DS1 kicks off telling him that we love him usually gets him in a better frame of mind pretty quickly.

enjoy your spa day jammy, but arse about your period!

bumper, enjoy the Big Apple and I hope DD has improved and that you don't feel too bad about leaving her (do you ever wonder if they know something is up and can call up illness to order?)

it's OPC day here

Rialentless · 10/05/2009 22:00

very quiet day today then?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/05/2009 22:48

OPC???

Well just to report back that I had a fab day Swam a lot, had a thai foot treatment and a thai massage, a bit of sitting around reading magazines (), a spell in the "sleep retreat" (with vibrating beds!), and some time in the steam rooms and spa pool (both of which were bliss). Oh and had a nice crayfish salad for lunch and went for a thai meal with my brother when I got out.

But on the way there I nearly made a fool of myself. Standing on the platform waiting for the train a member of station staff came past and I almost asked him (as I usually do) which carriage would have the best space for the buggy. But I remembered just in time that I was on my own with no buggy

Rialentless · 10/05/2009 23:17

lol jammy. your day sounds fabulous

OPC = Other Peoples Children (and I'm pretty sure DH told them in a shouty voice not to make such a bloody noise when baggins was sleeping)

I had turned the PC off and was going to watch Shirley Valentine (am on my own again and had a bloody awful evening with DCs) but I can't find it, so I'm turning to iplayer in the hope that something can amuse me til bedtime.

Do you have to commute this week to Lodon or will you stay over jammy?

Have finally decided I need a night away from home ALONE and have sent a email to DH asking him if I can go on an "old-lady" coach trip to Stratford, just for one night. Not very glam I know, but all I would have to do would be turn up and sit on coach, go to destination, do as told, change for dinner and eat, sleep, eat breakfast, sit on coach. No intellect, decision making or food preparation required.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/05/2009 23:37

evening....blinking flip

glad you had a lovely day jammy; sounds lurvely . I'm drooling at the thought of a "sleep retreat"

ria....don't go with the old ladies! Come over to Leeds and I'll organise your hotel and a meal and theatre/cinema etc. Still no thought required, but you get to talk to someone who is under the age of 65

I have had wine.....too much wine and am feeling ever so slightly very pissed and have eaten a giant bag of vegetable crisps, a huge portion of casserole made with belly pork, and chocolate and gummy sweets. I am seriously thinking of missing my second week at SW as I'm sure I will have actually put on weight

OP posts:
Rialentless · 11/05/2009 00:19

I didn't know you were doing SW daisy. (still indulging in general crapness WRT diet here) just watched this, was interesting. Still can't believe there isn't a magic solution though.

Maybe I could do old ladies and not having to talk to anyone first, and then come to Leeds when I've got braver

my tip for the day is - when feeling disillusioned with ones DH, do not visit ILs,especially not when they are having fish and chips...

must go to bed, DH claimed he would be home for 9am tomorrow, and I need to have left the house and at least be on the way to school by then do governors kids get let off being late? am fully expecting DS2 to have an ear infection anyway.

night all.

Rialentless · 11/05/2009 00:22

lol daisy at your Lola sentence ("ever so slightly very pissed") Charlie & Lola was my first temptation on iplayer

LittleMissNorty · 11/05/2009 08:21

Daisy, that reads like your casserole contained belly pork and chocolate and gummy sweets.....you must have been pissed

Ria - a night away sounds lovely....has he replied?

of your day Jammy....sounds very relaxing.

Very windy here today, so getting caught up with the washing. Other than that, have an exciting trip to work to post 70 envelopes to save me claiming them on expenses....god, I lead the high life don't I
