will catch up properly later, but just been drafted to help at the swine flu energency centre in London Tues-Fri next week. Eeek!

HellHathNoFury · 06/05/2009 15:27

Anyone fancy a summer meet up?

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2009 15:51

I'm up for it if I can drive and park!

Ohforfoxsake · 06/05/2009 16:04

Nah. Can't be arsed.

HellHathNoFury · 06/05/2009 16:14

me and you then Norty
Foxy can just shove it

Where is good? London? outside of London? A zoo/park/whatever?

From July I am free any day but til then a weekend is better (weekdays not impossible, just weekends better )

HellHathNoFury · 06/05/2009 17:06

Did anyone watch Boys and Girls Alone on C4?

OMG it's interesting viewing... and I am rather glad I have a boy now, those girls are scary

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2009 17:10

I'd be interested in a meet up, if I can make it.

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2009 17:31

Hornimans was nice (realise I'm biased but South London or anywhere on South Circular is good for me!)

HellHathNoFury · 06/05/2009 17:39

I can do hornimans... or even just a nice park somewhere

HellHathNoFury · 06/05/2009 19:09

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 20:34

I'm alright Norty....still got a bit of residual infection in one of my wounds, and I have the most evil smelling wind, which may or may not be connected.

fury, has he seen breastfeeding somewhere? on TV or something?

I think DD's problem was lack of food. She just hasn't been eating since Sunday and her fluid intake is poor as well. I changed her nappy at 2.45 and when DH went to get her ready for bed at half six her nappy was still dry as in not a single wee in there at all. I'm not sure whether I should be worried about it or not . She had some spagbol at teatime, but not a lot, and a yogurt so it's better than nothing I suppose, but that's all she's had today apart from a bit of banana and a wee drop rice crispies for breakfast

My charming DH has fucked off fishing this evening, leaving me to put bumble to bed and tidy up the detritus of the day as well as marshall the older two back into bed several times . I am less than impressed, so have ordered a new stroller for the back of the car when I promised I wouldn't buy any more buggies until I'd sold all the doubles!

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2009 21:12

What did you get Daisy? I love my MacClaren - well both the single and the double. I put DS in the Quest now as well

When my DD is on a food strike, I let her eat as many yogurts as she wants. Does she drink squash? Always gets K drinking.

Got to watch the apprentice on live slip tonight as footie is on

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 21:22

I ordered a CT 0.6 (used to be the Xplorer I think?), as it seems pretty compact, but has big wheels. Having had a couple of buggies with little wheels they drive me nuts getting bogged down on anything other than pavement and the brakes always click on when bumping up and down stairs.

DD's new car seat arrived today....I ordered the Britax Evolva in the end. It is lovely, and she looks very snug and safe in it....and it has cupholders so DS1 is very jealous; never mind that they won't actually open because of the door on one side and another car seat on the other!

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2009 21:29

Can you get 3 car seats in your car Daisy? I can get 2 in, but NO way would anyone fit inbetween them.

Nice buggy . I also spend money when I'm pissed off

DS is staring at the TV in amazment at the footie....oh bloody hell, I've bred a football fan

Rialentless · 06/05/2009 21:30

honestly

LittleMissNorty · 06/05/2009 21:38

Its in the pushchair category as well

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2009 21:40

at that thread Ria.

Glad the jabs went well, Norty. And sorry DD is being difficult, Daisy.

Well the panic that being told I am in London for 4 days/3 nights next week on work business has calmed down and things are sorted I think. Jamlet will be at nursery as normal on Tues, DH will have a day off to look after her on Weds, she will have an extra day at nursery on Thurs, and my ILs were coming for the weekend anyway so will come early so as to look after her on Friday. Will be very odd to be away for 3 nights though - especially after being away on Sunday night anyway (non-business related trip to London ). Means that any ideas of bringing on the potty training are shelved however. Can't start it and then go away for that long. Mind you, DH would just have to get on with it, wouldn't he

Rialentless · 06/05/2009 21:42

best way jammy. I am not a fan of potty training.

funny how there was no "bid for a boys name" (I was looking for a teensy tiny stroller to go in the car) some people will pay for anything!

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 21:51

ah but there were no bids yet Ria!

I had a look on ebay and had a bid in for a hardly used one of that same pram....but I had to go and do the school run and missed out by a pound [grr]. Still by the time I had sorted out the courier it would have been nearly the price of the new one anyway!

Trip sounds interesting Jammy; I would kill to have three nights away from my lot at the minute!

We can get three across the back norty. We have a scenic that has three full seats (although the middle one is a bit skinnier than the outside ones). It's a bit of a squeeze, but the outside seatbelts have a double buckle (like middle seats often do) so we put DS1 in the middle and can then fasten bumble in from the outside iyswim?

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2009 22:07

Trouble is I'll be working until 10pm. But I will get 3 mornings to myself, in London Timing is a pain though, I've got my planned night away on Sunday, I come home on Monday and then go away again on Tuesday.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/05/2009 22:10

I hope you are getting overtime for this Jammy!

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/05/2009 22:14

Thankfully yes

HellHathNoFury · 07/05/2009 08:22

What's this I hear about food strikes??

DS is having one of those.
Nanny gave in over the weekend and gave him cake, but now he's back in my care it's back to the strict bitch routine.

Sorry, but I get sick of him eating one mouthful then asking for dessert. Pisses me right off.

So I ALWAYS stick to my guns, if he eats well (usually more than half) he can have dessert, otherwise it's bed. And nothing else.

This has not been going well but I was not compromising (I am clearly more stubborn than he) but I think we had breakthrough last night.

2 spoonfuls of pasta in, he asks for dessert.
nope.
he throws water across the room in protest.
still nope.
he flings pasta at me.
Still nope and bed.
THen he SCREAMED blue murder for dinner when DH was getting him changed, came back down, finished the whole bowl plus garlic bread then he was allowed a yoghurt.

I am a bitch.

LittleMissNorty · 07/05/2009 08:34

Morning

I'm pretty strict as well Fury. If she doesn't eat, she sits in the room on her own in silence - no TV, nothing. If she still doesn't eat, I get her down and she has nothing else offered until the next meal. If its the last meal of the day, I'll offer her a glass of milk before bed (which she wouldn't normally have) and more often than not, she'll drink it, so at least I know she's had something.

This dry nappy thing must be catching Daisy....DD's nappy is still dry from 7pm last night, and despite a huge glass of milk this morning

btw, DS went right through without a feed last night ....suspect its due to his jabs though rather than a new routine....but I'm not complaining!
