Jamlet had an hour with no nappy at the end of the afternoon (I basically couldn't be arsed to put one on her as it was getting close-ish to bedtime) and sat twice on the potty but nothing happened. but she seems to know what it's for and is getting longer dry periods so is obviosuly getting some bladder control so we are part way towards being ready. Not in any rush atm though. but would be nice to get it done over the summer when it'll be warmer for running about half-nekkid and clothes will dry easier when we do have accidents.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 22:25

That's what I did with dd jammy. She was fine running around with a bare bum, she would wee on the potty. As soon as I put knickers on her she would wee in them! It took quite a while to get her dry, little madam!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:29

DD likes a frwsh nappy to poo in!

she was very proud of herself the other day when she did one on the potty and we had to leave it to show daddy as well....they are just sooooo cute she tells me potty, sits on it and nothing,.....but she gets off it quickly and holds it upside down saying "no wee wee" so I'm not sure she knows when she is doing it. she has discovered her bits though and if forever poking and prodding at them. she also tore off some loo roll and pretended to wipe herlsef when I was having a wee earlier today. It's all going in the right direction!

I have been warned that it might be best to let her run around with just tshirt and knicks, rather than just tshirt. If nothing else it gets her used to the need to pull pants down a friend said

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 22:32

Juar heard from my DSis. Her not-DH is coming back to the UK this weekend and she is meeting him next weekend!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 22:34

Juar??? Just

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:45

yikes jammy, how does she feel about that? has he been away all this time?

tshirt and knickers sounds like a good idea. As you said, it gets them used to the pulling up and down action.

I'm waiting on some tots training pants arriving, but I doubt she will entertain them as they are the same patterns as the tots wraps and she might think they are babyish.

Oh, and my bruiser is needing to move up to size 2 wraps. I'm

She's apprehensive Daisy. Yes he's been away all this time. Is only coming back now as far as I can tell because he can't get any more work out there so can't stay any longer. (Not sure what he was doing but it was affected by the fires apparently.)

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:56

maybe she will ask him to reimburse her the money she had to borrow from you?

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:57

sorry, that is really forthright rude of me. I've had wine

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 23:04

OK, I should have gone to bed ages ago but got to that stage where I was too tired to move. But now I have to go or I'll be stuck on the sofa all night. Besides I need a wee and the potty looks too small for me!

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 23:08

that has crossed my mind before jammy, if I am ever rich we are getting a downstairs loo! (When I was PG I sometimes waited til I went to visit DM rather than haul myself up the stairs. I was probably thinner when I was PG)

I am off to bed too, I am knackered from the anxiety. I have spent all day like a bloody coiled spring, too scared to stop worrying in case that meant everything would collapse around me. It is so bloody silly.

night all. good luck daisy.

I might take baggins to church in the morning, but I'll be here sometime.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 23:14

ria, are you taking anything for the anxiety, or still seeing the CPN? Sertraline is helping me no end; I couldn't imagine doing all this filming stuff this time last year.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 08:30

{{{hugs}}} to you Ria....I've been there many times....Daisy is right, I'm still on my ADs and atm couldn't manage without them....I haven't forgotten what a mess I was in before my GP let me have them.

Good luck today Daisy

The scientist in me is coming out, this flu thing needs to be taken very seriously. Our pandemic flu plans are coming in at work as well, and I could be called in as well. It is scary stuff as its unlikely anyone will have any natural immunity. And as my mum is asthmatic, and as a mum to two very vunerable DCs, I will take all necessary precautions should it become more prevalent. However, I do think the UK has some pretty robust plans to deal with it.....where I work (and across the NHS), they have been planning for years how to deal with it, as it is long overdue. I don't think there is any media scare mongering going on, although the death rate is pretty low. However, the baby that died yesterday, was a June 07 baby . Sorry, lecure over

Oh Fury, I've recently sold my moses basket / bedding / stand on e-bay....you could have had it! Sorry! Mind you, like Daisy says, DS was only in it 5 weeks.....mainly cos his noisy sleeping habits were sending me mad though rather than his size.

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 08:50

I need a moses basket as DS2 when he comes needs to share a room with us, noisy or not, for about 3 months, thanks to the IL's coming to stay and using his (what will be) room.

Daisy I thought about a crib but isn't a moses basket handy for daytime sleeping, because you can lug it around with you, so I can keep an eye on him whn doing the dinner etc rather than running up and down the stairs every 5 minutes?

LackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2009 08:55

ARSE ARSE ARSE

it's all going tit up here. dd has eaten half a tubr of tothpasye, and then my twigyb bach has gone completely. i couldn't strighten up.....after clening my teeth.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 08:58

You will probably find Fury that you will need to keep the two of them apart for a while due to the natural enthusiasm of toddlers wishing to feed / poke and generally "help" with their sibling. I have a swinging chair downstairs which DS naps in which is in a different room to DD, and for his long naps, he goes upstairs and I bring a monitor down. If left in the same room as DD, I'd either have to constantly supervise or he'd never get any sleep / be suffocated by blankets, muslins and bibs!

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 08:59

Daisy, have you got any codeine for your back? Time to put cBeebies on!

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 09:05

Good point Norty.

Will talk to DH. Kiddicare sell a cheap crib that looks just the job.
Also as I seem to produce TALLLLL babies I was worried a moses basket would'nt last very long.

Swinging chair...wot ist?

Daisy! Painkillers and cbeebies like the woman says!

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 09:09

one of these. Bloody marvelous invention.....enables you to eat dinner in peace

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 09:29

what about one like this?
here

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 09:48

BONKERS!

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 09:54

We had a local (nutty) councillor who last week suggested that the council shouldn't mend potholes as its a natural form of traffic calming....think that one needs to be filled!

My sister has that swing for her DD Fury, and its lovely.

Bumperlicioso · 30/04/2009 10:08

Morning all

Yikes about your back daisy, hope you are ok. Good luck with your filming.

Jammy, very scary for you, but don't beat yourself up and don't let DH make you feel bad. If you knew how long we leave DD playing unattended... but the worst we get is usually up to her armpits in sudo creme! The other day we found her crawling on the table though! You can't watch them every second.

Well done for Holly's DS. We are no where near potty training here. I'm loathe to let her go nappy free as she gets so upset when she wees herself. She did a massive poo in the bath yesterday and got very upset.

Had an industrious day yesterday, took DD swimming and made chocolate cheesecake, curry in my slow cooker and roti canai (Malaysian flat breads) for a dinner party last night. So I'm having a lazy day today, looking forward to nap time so I can watch the Apprentice then going meet up with some mummies for tea at a friend's house this afternoon.

I made this for DD last week (it's the cat in the pink dress on the right.)

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 10:25

blimey bumper you are industrious.

I spend my days yelling at DS to stop wearing my make up, car shopping and sitting at my desk pretending to work.
