Thanks Fury, I will stalk track her down

HellHathNoFury · 29/04/2009 20:35

DAMN YOU EBAY

I wanted the moses basket!

knobs

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 20:38

OMFG...today my ds is mostly potty trained!!

Hope dd is ok jammy. I regularly leave my ibuprofen laden bag within reach of small people. Maybe I should stop! I have also snipped the end off of dd's finger when cutting her nails; left her on a changing unit, which she fell off of; left ds on the sofa many times, ending in him falling off...the list goes on! I am a pretty careless parent!

Fairy, did you buy some shoes?

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2009 20:39

No shoes yet, but lots of options. Thanks for your help

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 21:17

fury, get a crib rather than a moses basket......it will last a bit longer!

I have a few double prams still if you are in the market for one, or Natty

Where is Natty? It's not like her to be this quiet?

I am resting on my parenting laurels this evening . this solo parenting lark is a piece of cake with three

DS2 was in bed and asleep by 6.45 and DS1 and DD by 7.15 after managing to get them all washed and brushed and stories read as well! We all had ready meals for tea.....the older two pepperoni pizza followed by smarties mini cupcakes; bumble Ellas house butternut squash, apple, pear and prune puree with baby porridge added to bulk it out, me chinese something or other from sainsbury's. I even managed stories and everything and then tidied and cleaned.

And you lot are bloody rubbish.....twice now I have mentioned my filming tomorrow and no-one, no-bloody-one has mentioned it

jammy, I hope DD is ok.

fairy, do you need help to find shoes and a bag

hey holly.....well done W on the potty. DD took her nappy off and had a pee once last week....nothing since!

Soz daisy, I am v busy being astonished by my ds and his toileting skills!! Is this for the bfing vid?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 21:45

It is holly; I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about it and there are rumours that the local press will be there as well and that I will be required to give them a statement/pose for photos, although apparently the N HS weren't keen for the press to be involved

I also may be getting involved in setting up a new baby cafe at the local children's centre and doing a bit of volunteering there too. It's all quite exciting.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 21:48

Hope it goes well. I'd be shitting myself too, it sounds scary! I'm sure you'll be fine though. Will you be actually bfing on film?

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 21:51

I am too busy setting up your fan-based website for when you become a star Daisy

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 21:59

jamlet seemed fine by bedtime. No breathing difficulties or stomach problems to note I am 99.99% sure she only picked up the packet, and didn't even try to eat them let alone manage it. (But of course I can't actually prove it so of course maternal paranoia kicks in.) But FFS she was only out of view for the time it takes me to sign my name and write the date! - what 15 seconds? DH was cross with me though and we ended up rowing about that and other stuff

Have done my work for tonight though it dragged on rather as I didn't start on time because of the arguing We are being asked for our availability over the weekend and through next week to help out with piggy flu. As I won't really be able to do anything next week beyond Tues unless I can sort out some childcare my money is on me being drafted to work the weekend inc the bank holiday. Ah well, at least there'll be overtime

Good luck with the filming for tomorrow Daisy. Sorry I forgot to comment earlier

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 22:01

I am planning the publicity for your "How to Parent 3 and direct a BF video - it's easy" book

Did you have the hairdo?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:01

lol foxy

Not sure holly....I suppose I will if bumble wants a feed!! I was going to do a latch demonstration, but I have roped in a friend who has a little baby (seven weeks), and crucially littler, more pert boobs to do that bit. I think bumble with his grunting and growling and slurping and my womble snouts would have the opposite effect than intended!!!!

What about this swine flu then? Should we be worried? or is it all going to be a storm in a teacup like bird flu was?

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 22:06

another thought jammy. It's unlikely she would have just popped the tab out of the blister without going on to pick at the foil, poke her nails into the sealed foil. glad she seems ok though

Don't forget to give DH a hard time/be unbelievably understanding and sweet natured next time he has a parenting slip-up (and he will)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 22:07

Well here is our official Q&A for the public on swine flu. Info given to staff is basically that we are following our pandemic plan but that it is unclear as yet whether this will reach pandemic proportions. I don't really know more than that. But we have emergency centres set up/being set up at my workplace and in London HQ and I may be called to go take notes at meetings etc.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:07

Lol Ria ......I cut my own fringe this morning.....I'm going for the "too busy and knackered to look after myself well" effect!!

Sorry you and DH have rowed about things jammy....these things happen though. DD emptied my bag last week and ripped open two packs of anti-depressants that I had just picked up at the chemist......she didn't get them out of the blister pack thankfully but I was horrified.

Did I mention that she flooded the bathroom yesterday? I got home and was dealing with the fish tank as the filter wasn't working and the fish were swimming in sludge and the gate had been left open.......I realised she had gone and when I went up the plug was in the sink and water flowing everywhere with her soaked to the skin......she just looked at me and said "wash hands mummy". I took the plug off today!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 22:12

I know the meedja is full of it about swine flu and that the 1918 pandemic killed millions, but surely with modern medical advances that isn't likely to happen?

Of course as someone with a weakened immune system, I am ever so slightly cacking it!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 22:14

My ds does that daisy. He is freaking obsessed with the bath and the toilet, hence me realising this morning that he was actually ready to potty train. He was mucking about with the toilet, putting the seat up and down and saying "poo" (his name for poo, wee, toilet, potty etc.), I told him to stop and he carried on, so I took his nappy off and plonked him on the loo and lo and behold he weed! I nearly fainted. He has been weeing on the potty all day and just before he went to sleep he did a poo! I am v proud of him and his little skinny bottom!! He is so proud of himself too. He keeps weeing and running up to show me and he got really excited when dd came home from preschool and he showed her his potty full of wee. When he did a poo we had to take it and show dp. I love my little scrap of a boy!!

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 22:15

Good luck for tomorrow Daisy! Looking forward to the Premiere

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 22:16

Follow all the advice about thorough and regular handwashing, using tissues and disposing of them sensibly, washing door handles if you're worried Daisy. All good germ-prevention measures.

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 22:16

bless your DS Holly

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 22:17

Well done to DS Holly!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 22:17

I don't want him to be a big boy

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 29/04/2009 22:18

I bought him some Thomas pants in the M&S sale and put them on him. He looked edible!!

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 22:20

well done to DS
