Well the crochet is just so that I can spend my evenings slumped in front of the TV and not feel so bad as I am crocheting at the same time. Besides I've just put DD into bed so I can make a cup of tea and watch the apprentice!

Also see this thread about what a lazy arse I usually am and this thread with regards to the shouting!

Ohforfoxsake · 30/04/2009 11:35

well I've been busy doing craft and baking with the girls. During which time, DD2 sneaked off and pulled half the keys off this laptop.

Bless.

Have put most of them back, but it is fucked.

Arse.

And I DIDNT shout. Mainly because I just kant be arsed any more. am substituting the 'see' key with the 'K' Key. Am not krap at spelling.

Bumperlicioso · 30/04/2009 11:46

Foxy you are very good doing baking and crafts with the LOs. I'm far too much of a control freak!

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 11:47

Well done, Foxy.
I must admit actually that I have kind of given up on DS. If he wants to jump off the kitchen table, fine.
If he wants to bang metal spoons on the glass, sure.
Makeup? Well, it worked for Duran Duran.

Rialentless · 30/04/2009 11:51

feel much better today thanks, although still tense. don't really want to go back to GP in case it's "OFFS not again", most days I'm manageable fine, and I feel bad about getting another prescription when I have a cupboard full of the stuff and never take the full lot

took baggins to church again, he was much braver today and went to the ladies to take his tambourine back etc. Have top go to work shortly, yr 6 today (and working alongside the 2 women I can't bear to be near because they are so self-important). At least I will be able to sneak a hug from DS2

Am considering polishing my halo as I managed to get tea in the slow cooker before I took DS2 to school, and did the washing up and put a wash on. I have already achieved more today than I do most days!

DH is a bit grumpy though because he has suggested we go away for the weekend and I aren't filled with enthusiasm at the prospect of blitzing the house and laundry and packing etc. Have said I will think about it.

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 12:07

I just bought a moses basket on Ebay for £1.20.

Nothing flash... but hey. It was £1.20.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 12:13

Excellent Fury!
Well done Ria! And Foxy!
And Hi Bumper! Love the crochet cat

Jamlet now napping. Bumper - I have emptied the washing machine and put another load on (but not hung up the wet nappies yet ) and loaded the bread maker, and now I am sitting down with the paper and MN!

I know we've all read this kind of arse-covering statement but had to chuckle when I just read on the back of the seasame seed packet "This product has been made in a factory which handles seasame seeds"

Bumperlicioso · 30/04/2009 12:17

Well DD is in bed and I've sat watching the apprentice and eating left over cheesecake and I'm still in my jammies!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 12:20

I am dressed. Good job too as we were out earlier fobbing off donating a load of stuff to one of the charity shops. I bought a £1 game for jamlet in return though. A pairs memory card game. She was certainly very happy holding it in the push chair coming back home.

Going to have to get off my arse soon though as need to get stuff ready for going to Toddler Splash at the swimming pool this afternoon.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 12:21

My fave programme is the Apprentice. It never fails to amaze me how arrogant and stupid they are.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 12:23

Was not happy though that the charity shop woman gave me a snotty look because I said I needed the bags back though!

Was less impressed with the woman making a huge complaint about how they would only offer her a credit note because she wanted to return some curtains she had bought there and then found were the wrong size. Personally I thought they were being very fair offering her a credit note.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 12:25

I've done bugger all today expect one load of washing, feed DS and DD and MN .

But I did fall down the stairs at 5am (coming downstairs half asleep to get a bottle for DS) and managed to undo all the work my osteopath done yesterday so need to rest! I said to DH, "did you hear me fall down the stairs?" (yelling fucking hell and pulling the stairgate off the wall!), no he said, what time was that? .....men have this built in ability to sleep through anything! Yesterday he asked me if DS had slept through.....eerm NO, hw woke up twice actually .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 12:29

Used to make me when DH would ask how jamlet had slept.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 12:36

Each morning he says "oh what time did he get you up last night" . I feel like thumping him awake sometimes. I wouldn't mind but we have a monitor that is on pretty loud and DS really screams. I can hear him downstairs in the kitchen whilst the microwave is going FFS!

Bumperlicioso · 30/04/2009 12:38

Ouch norty! Are you ok now?

I must admit now DD is older when she wakes up DH is the one to get up and I ask how many times she woke up

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 12:50

If DD wakes up, I usually boot DH out of bed to deal with her as she's such a daddy's girl....and the dog!

Bit sore but with the help of some strong painkillers am moving around now. At least I didn't have DS in my arms. When he was a couple of weeks old, I bought in downstairs with me whilst I got his milk so he wouldn't disturb DH (!!!) and bumped his head on a bookcase where I was half asleep and staggering about .....so don't do that one any more!

HellHathNoFury · 30/04/2009 13:04

I am the one sleeping through it all. I am glad DH doesn't thump me.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 13:07

Poor you Norty.

And Daisy - glad DD is OK! I didn't have the guts I'm afraid to say on the other post that I thought people were a bit harsh to you. No one seemed to care that you were in pain etc.

LittleMissNorty · 30/04/2009 13:09

Glad DD is ok Daisy....I agree with Jammy. some people are very quick to be harsh on MN. If it warranted an A&E visit, I think your instincts would have told you. I'm very much a rely on your instincts person....

Rialentless · 30/04/2009 13:19

ouch norty.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2009 18:08

sorry for the garbles post earlier; difficult when leaning over in pain!!

two full strength co-codamol and a diclofenac and I was flying!

norty, I hope you're OK, and arse that you did it the day after seeing the osteopath. I hope you aren't in too much pain. My back is probably a hangover from my tumble before Christmas.

thanks for the comments on my toothpaste thread....shinypinkshoes managed to reduce me to tears before I spoke to NHS Direct. Yes, I should have called but the stuff I read said toxic reactions occur withing minutes and she was pretty much fine. GSK called back to say they had logged it with their customer care line and someone would call back, but they never did. . then DH came home and he was livid that I had called him home from Norfolk (erm no, he said he would come back) but was still prepared to go and do the filming and that I should have cancelled. Maybe so, but I didn't want to let them down at such short notice, and as it happened none of the volunteer group turned up, just me and my friend, and another MNer after I did a thread about it in MN local. Anyhoo, all's well that ends well.....although I need to get to the osteo as well.

Filming went well, but I kept fluffing my "lines" and having to start again. I did a lot of "ummming" as well, and bumble wouldn't feed as he was too busy watching the overhead microphone . I got a lovely bottle of wine from them for helping out and organising things at this end too. IT will be interesting to see the finished result which is going to be broadcast on The Life Channel, definately locally, but perhpas nationwide as well!!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 30/04/2009 18:22

Glad the filming went well daisy and glad dd is ok. I expect they'll edit out the "umm"ing and line fluffs. Can't wait to see it.

Dp has lost his job, again! I am , but also [happy]. He wasn't enjoying it at all and was bloody miserable and demotivated all the time. He really wants to be a yoof worker and has done for years. He has now decided enough is enough with sales and he needs to pursue a career he will actually enjoy and he feels is worthwhile. I am quite happy about it tbh. We will struggle for a few years whilst he is training, but once he has finished all the courses he needs to do etc. he will be on much more money than he is now. It is actually quite a well paid field of work. Now all he needs to do is find a job...I'm sure that is easier said than done!

I am also inspired to carry out the business idea that has been brewing in my head for a while now. I want to set up a website selling organic fair trade children's clothing, but in bright plain colours and simple patterns, like stripes and spots. However, finding a wholesaler is not proving easy!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 30/04/2009 18:23

there is no [happy] emoticon! I meant or maybe just !

FrazzledFairyFay · 30/04/2009 18:34

and [happy] for you Holly.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, leaving at 3:30am so am going to go and do some last minute packing an attempt to get an early night

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 30/04/2009 19:23

Glad filming was OK Daisy. Sorry DH is annoyed. Mine has stormed out because I called him tight.

Sorry about DP's job Holly but also [happy] that it may focus the mind onto doing something better.

Oh DH is back...
