DS1 puts himself to bed and I have DS2 and baggins in with me - I don't know how I would do it if that didn't work.

IKWYM about gluten free stuff - I saw the tiniest bottle of gluten free beer in the co-op and it was more expensive than a 4-pack.

think baggins is going to nod off on the sofa.

Ria congratualtions on your parent-s evening and DS getting on the team
Less good about the panic attack, fwiw I hate phone calls too.

Daisy, don-t know what you-re routine is at bedtime but if I were you I-d stick DS1 in front of a DVD or something and feed Bumble while DD gets a story or whatever, that-s how I do solo bedtimes now.

Nice dress Fairy, congratulations on dropping a size too

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 12:18

Ria, that's why I never drink gf beer!!

I am wondering whether I should have had my hair done for the filming tomorrow! I'm starting to get nervous about it, especially as the director of the peer support group has delegated responsibility for our side of things to me!!! (she is 7.5mo pregnant so I said it was fine) Do I need to get a clipboard do you think?

sputnik, hopefully bumble will happily wait his turn; the older two aren't too much of an issue, but Dd does have the annoying habit of not staying in bed....I will need to barricade her door again!

Disy, here you go, let's crack open the domestos here

HellHathNoFury · 29/04/2009 14:34

Daisy even

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 14:46

there you go....I suppose an antibacterial wash might have the same effect?

and I was always told not to bathe children with eczema very often, but perhaps I've aded to her problems by allowing bacteria to multiply unchecked.

Wonder what that cleansing hand gel will do? I might do a patch test!!

How fucking dangerous is that article?!

Some stupid fucker is bound to try it on their kid.

Well done to DS1 Ria! Getting picked for the team is a big thing for a small boy Brilliant!

HellHathNoFury · 29/04/2009 14:58

Foxy totally

A lot of people won't read the small print where it says 'bathing in bleach can be extremely dangerous'!

grrrrrrrr

HellHathNoFury · 29/04/2009 14:59

Foxy - we are thinking of buying a galaxy - do you recommend?

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 16:25

I did think that foxy......inspite of the "Don't try this at home" disclaimer.

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 16:34

I like the Galaxy, ours is very basic, but you can comfortable get everyone in, and will continue to do so as they get bigger.

No boot space. I can just about get the double buggy in there if I shut it really quickly before it falls out. But, the seats move really easily so its easy to create space. We can get us and what we need in it when we go away.

It definately gets my vote, but it's not flash in anyway whatsoever. Much like myself

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 16:35

comfortably that should say. distracted by shitty bum. (LO, not me)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 16:47

I feel bad. I took my prescription round to pharmacy earlier. While I signed it before we went out Jamlet found my bag in the other room and pulled out a packet of ibuprofen. I saw her waving this box around as I went to see what she was doing, having signed my name. I checked in her mouth and there was nothing in there. I looked at the packet and there were 4 gone. I know I'd had 2 last week, can't remember if I'd had another 2 or not. But I really couldn't imagine she'd have got 2 tablets out and swallowed them (without water) in the time it took me to sign the form. However, I couldn't rule it out so I asked at the pharmacy (as we were going there anyway) what to look out for just incase. Thet made me feel bad, and when I got back and rang DH he wasn't impressed and made me feel worse It was bad that she managed to get hold of some, and I will keep the bag out of reach in future but it was a genuine mistake...

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 16:52

Oh Jammy - I know how awful you feel, but if she had got them she would have chewed them up and there would almost definately be some evidence. I think its very unlikely she would have swallowed two whole, its hard to do at the best of times especially, like you say, without water. We can only do that because we have learnt to.

We all do something from time to time which makes us feel exactly as you do now. The feeling will go, and you won't do it again. Do something nice with her, and you will feel a bit better.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 16:56

I think the same as you Foxy - that she couldn't have swallowed them whole and if she'd chewed them there would have been some evidence. But I felt it was the responsible thing to do to ask the pharmacist for advice. Wish I hadn't though, she made me feel so stupid and irresponsible

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 16:59

jammy. chances are she would have spat them out anyway once the coating had dissolved. I have found too that with something like that they will come to find you anyway to show you what they can do/have done. It could just as easily have happened for DH too BTW! so don't let him make you feel worse than I expect you do.

LittleMissNorty · 29/04/2009 16:59

You poor thing Jammy....I feel for you. I have done things with and to DD that have made me feel like that. As Foxy says, its very unlikely that she had them.

for DH for you....my DH does that to me....everyone is human and we all do these things, and a little understanding would help the situation. I never forget making DDs finger bleed during an over-enthusiastic cutting session from me when she was tiny, and he really had a go "How could you"....made me feel 10 x worse!

That bleach article.....gob-smacking

Why is it that on a visit to the osteopath I can manage to wear half decent underwear that matches, put a bit of perfume on and shave my legs and I don't do this for DH.....have I got a bit complacent? Bit really isn't it?

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 17:04

perfectly normal in my house norty, but then DH is hardly ever here, and it's even more rare that we have any time together where that kind of thing would matter

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 29/04/2009 17:06

Thanks guys. I'm sure it's all Ok but I won't be totally happy until morning I know. If she makes it through the night without breathing difficulties or stomach problems then I'll feel much better (even though I know that realistically there is no real need to worry).

Also about that bleach article.

OK, must go find a new home for my bag. A high home, especially as she's just climbed onto the sofa for the 1st time!

LackaDAISYcal · 29/04/2009 17:35

jammy, my nephew once chewed and mostly swallowed a 400mg brufen tablet that my Dad had dropped and then he found. I called A&E in a blind panic, but they said that there wasn't any danger of ibuprofen overdose, but that the main issues were breathing (if asthmatic) and stomach pains. He was right as rain, and now won't eat any bright pink things as a result since he had a "yukky sweetie". I'm sure she'll be fine, and don't beat yourself up about it; accidents happen (says the woman who calls NHS direct on a regular basis for accidental swallowing incidents )

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 17:53

jammy, have just popped back to tell you this -

when DS1 was really tiny I was in bed with him trying to get him to BF, and was reading a pretty hefty HB book, while he was fighting he only managed to bash his head - right near the soft bit - on the corner. cue massive PFB panic and ringing everyone I could think of to reassure me that he would be OK.

children are programmed to put the fear of God into you, they will always find some danger!

hope you are OK now.

FrazzledFairyFay · 29/04/2009 19:28

Jammy, don't worry. If she thought they were sweets, I'm sure she'd have crunched them and not swallowed them. I think I'd be more worried if one was gone, rather than 2.

HellHathNoFury · 29/04/2009 20:20

fairy
Saw andiem on a thread, posted yesterday, so if you still need to reach her she IS around!

Ohforfoxsake · 29/04/2009 20:30
