norty, I know it's hard, but she will get the message eventually. Once they get to this age, it's difficult to do the shush patting thing.

Fury, I hope your FIL is OK and that he gets well enough to make the trip. If he isn't well enough could you go to them later in the year when the baby is a few months old? Not sure I'd like to do the journey with a toddler and a baby though.

Its horrible isn't it leaving them to cry...I will persevere though. Having said that, yet again she is napping downstairs.....night-time is a bit different though. We have started a much stricter routine of bath, teeth, bedtime story and SLEEP, so fingers crossed.

My GP surgery have just rung and booked DS in for his first jabs next week....he'll be 13 weeks .

Hope you're not off-line too long Daisy....just think of all that de-cluttering you'll be able to do

All I've done this morning so far is order a new tax-disc on-line and empty the dishwasher....oh and I'm uploading some pics onto FB....important I get my priorities right you know

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 11:09

daisy, No! Don't leave us! Modern technology is a pain.

been to Tesco and stocked up on mince. I can't be bothered to thing of imaginitive things to eat this week, so it'll be spag bol, savoury mince with yorks puds...

very tired and suffering with evil stomach cramps today DH did get up with the kids, but it wasn't exactly restful. He is now playing Wii...

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 11:11

*thinK

ironing for me today, and then I need to set about the house, but DH has another week before the big close down (I knew they would) so no doubt I'll end up treading water for another week. It'll have to be done though, the kids want to invite the GPs round for tea soon.

HellHathNoFury · 27/04/2009 11:26

Nope, we are NOT going there.
I refuse to go with 2 kids under 3. The cost aside from anything else.

Which is why we are paying for them to come here.

LittleMissNorty · 27/04/2009 11:31

If DH has to go over, perhaps he could take DS with him Fury? Have you heard how he is?

HellHathNoFury · 27/04/2009 11:45

DH doesn't want to take DS on his own, as he can't concentrate on being there for MIL/FIL as DS will require a lot of work. You know how they are!

We did talk about it.

Apparently he is still being monitored and having tests done (dye through the arteries etc).

LackaDAISYcal · 27/04/2009 11:47

sending him positive vibes fury.

I need to buy a new phone. Our existing one is plugged into a box that is behind the shelfing unit and I can't unplug it without taking the drawr unit at the bottom of the unit completely apart (yay IKEA for robust construction). So, unless I can buy a new wire thingy that will plug into the back of the phone fromthe wall socket, it's going to be a whole new phone.

I had the BT engineer put the new box in a much more accessible position.

See you all later....maybe

Just found an update to the penguin story....see the 21.34pm post hahahaha....

Ohforfoxsake · 27/04/2009 12:55

Thanks for that Norty. Priceless

Fingers crossed for FIL Fury.

Right Daisy.

The perfect opportunity to literally get your house in order! No excuses, no more tears. Get your boxes and marker pen ready. Oh and a new shed.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/04/2009 13:06

byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Daisy, hope you don't disappear for too long

Ohforfoxsake · 27/04/2009 13:10

Word of warning with Sky, if you keep losing your wireless connection you will call up and they will tell you its your equipment not a problem their end. IT IS NOT YOU,ITS THEM.

I know loooooaaaads of people this has happened to, including me. My IP address kept getting lost.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/04/2009 13:11

We have had problems with Sky as well. Our router keeps going kaput. We're on our 4th in 2 years.

HellHathNoFury · 27/04/2009 13:19

I used to work for Sky BB.
Sky BB is not great... but it's worth the cost (free or £5 in most cases!).

I use BeThere BB and would recommend 100%. I think they supply O2 as well.

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/04/2009 13:42

I agree Fury, we get our Sky BB free with our tv package, which is why we stick with it, despite the ishoos.

LittleMissNorty · 27/04/2009 13:47

fingers crossed for your FIL Fury.

We use ADSL4less and have done for years and every time we find a better deal we give them the opportunity of bettering it - and they usually do!

Bet you're glad you went to Sky eh Daisy ....we use them for TV and their customer services are shit, their HD boxes are pretty crap as well...but better than the competitors.

I've got my iron out for the first time in 4 years . Thought I'd do my bit for the credit crunch and iron the pillow cases, kids bits etc myself...DH was all for me sending it out, but its costing over £60 a month atm. My tally so far is 4 pillowcases, 1 hanky and one T-shirt....then I needed a rest

HellHathNoFury · 27/04/2009 13:53

You iron PILLOWCASES?

FrazzledFairyFay · 27/04/2009 13:54

I used to iron pillowcases, sheets and duvet covers before having DCs, now they get a tumble dry or a good shake. I only iron things that are absolutely necessary.

LittleMissNorty · 27/04/2009 13:55

I like them ironed, but don't think while I'm on mat leave I should be paying someone £8 an hour to do them.....I do like my bedding ironed. Don't you? Everything else being sent out....I've never ironed a duvet cover in my life!

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 14:03

FFS, DH has been pissing about trying (and failing) to print some stuff for a meeting later since lunchtime, he has now gone for a bath. He is an idle bastard. I am half-heartedly blitzing th kitchen so I don't have to kill him.

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 14:07
LittleMissNorty · 27/04/2009 14:15

Lots of mum's do Ria ....the woman who does mine has built a thriving little business out of it. You need a bloody good iron though and the ability to iron quickly (which I haven't). 3 hours of ironing for them is probably double what I can do.

HellHathNoFury · 27/04/2009 14:37

Ria yes why not, lots of mums do it.

I don't care about bedsheets being ironed, personally.

My mum irons EVERYTHING... but I can't be arsed.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/04/2009 14:38

you can't get rid of me that easily

We have a new phoneline, but no internet connection as yet, so I'm still on the cable connection. They will soon get wise to me and cut me off I assume. We have no wireless router or however the sky one actually works? no notification of email addresses or anything. Absolutely no idea what we have to do now. I'll get DH to sort it out....my baby bubble brain is beyond sorting it out after my disagreement over my pram earlier.

Apparently I have to give them at least three chances to get it right before I can even begin to think about a refund....what shite.
