Morning all. Time for a quick one handed post whilst a hot D is sleeping fitfully in my other arm.

Yay for spag bol jenwa.
Yay for sleeping in same room myjob.
Yay for good hv visit and going away hmm.

Thanks for advice ronshar (and everyone else). Why does your GP think that William has slapped cheek? Dd wasn't very ill with it, but ds certainly is if that is what he's got.
We had a better night than expected. He took a reasonable feed before bed, and did actually manage a 3 hr sleep at one point. He wanted to feed but couldn't in the night, so we gave medicine and then around 30 mls of milk that I'd expressed when we got back from our day out yest, which he took from a nurofen syringe. After that he did manage to take a little directly, and again a bit later. We will have a quieter at home day today as dd is on school playscheme.

Awww thanks Hmm - You're probably right I do live in a rough area (well, I live away from the rought element but have to walk through it to get home sometimes). In that same to-do, my ex got his jaw broken and lost a tooth. Glad your going to be getting more support from your HV. I have no HV, but the one I did have temporarily would have caused PND if she had visited more often. She was dreadful! If I had been a first time mum I would probably have had a nervous breakdown.

Ronshar - do you think? Girls Aloud? Really? Oh the shame, she's been brought up on a strict diet of rawk! I think I might have to set up some cameras to see who's been paying her Girls Aloud and ban them from her life.

Heather - Wow! My DS was crawling at 6.5 months so it is possible. He was walking at 10 months too. Start baby proofing!

CSWS - Hopefully he is sleeping it off now. He'll suddenly recover, as if by magic! DS had a GA when he was 9 months and had a terrible reaction. He was really sick and could keep anything done. He had calpol and calprofen but nothing seemed to help. Then suddenly, he was fine! He did a big wee on the floor and then started splashing in it befor we realised what he ahd done. We knew he was better then

DS has just made a list of things he wants to put on a homemade pizza - tmartoe, slarmy, chees, treesoe (chorizo), chicking. He has spelled a few correctly too, but they're not funny.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2009 09:27

at wee splashing.

Just really need ds better by Sat, as we're due to go to my parents, and my mum gets every bug going, so won't thank us if she ends up with some form of this.

I expect you've researched it yourself CSWS, but I've just read that once the rash/symptoms appear you are no longer contagious. Here is the NHS page about Slapped Cheek. Oh actually , isn't that the very same link you posted? Hee hee!!

Marthasmama · 09/04/2009 09:37

Just re-read my previous post. Seems ds gets his spelling skills from his mother

Marthasmama · 09/04/2009 09:58

Does anyone have any idea how to stop M from kicking me in the armpit when I feed her? She thinks it's great fun to put her feet in my armpit and kick. Yeah love, hilarious .

Spare hand Myjob? How would I type? I remember doing that with ds when he got his first tooth. Sorry to hear about the ear ache. Not very nice . Glad they both went to sleep in the end after the false start.

I have a terrible 'I want to go shopping' bug. I have no money and don't need anything. Maybe it's because I've not bought myself anything for about 9 months.

I get to shop buying stuff to replace what was lost in the fire. I bought a fridge and a freezer from comet clearance this week. They auction off slightly damaged stuff (scratches and small dents) in ebay style auctions! We'll have to keep them in the house until we have a new outbuilding, but worth it to grab a bargain.

myjob, it was awful. alex now has a cough and has been awake since 4am. i gave up at 4:30 and came downstairs.
he started coughing that much that he was sick. he doesn't have a temp so i'm not sure if i should take him to the dr. they wont give him anything so it seems a bit of a waste of time.

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2009 12:14

Agree docs a waste of time heather.

I forgot to say happy half birthday to Martha .

stop rubbing it in! sleep? never heard of it

Marthasmama · 09/04/2009 13:07

Yeah Myjob stop rubbing it in! Martha is screaming her head off on my lap because she's knackered and won't go to sleep. She's so stubborn! Well, you know how kids get overexcited in their birthdays! Ha!

CSWS - I HATE shopping for white goods as DH and I never agree. But nice grabbing a bargin . Thank you. D is 0.5 tomorrow isn't he? Hope he's feeling better by then.

Heather - M had a horrible cough and started the seal barking, so DH took her to the walk-in-surgery. Just a sore throat. Just got paranoid as a friends ds has recently got over bronchiolitis. There is nothing that can be done, but you could try putting a wet towel on the radiator (if yours are still on) as that gets a bit of moisture in the air and can help with a dry cough.

I have been internet window shopping for pushchairs. DH went out to work with the pushchair so I'm stuck. I have got a baby carrier but I'm so short, M's head half covers my face when I put her in it! I think I need to either get a car only pushchair (like the Quinny, the cheap one) or get a carrier that allows me to put M on my back with ease. What do you think ladies?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/04/2009 13:21

I think that if there was a back carrier that was easy to put on then I'd own it by now . I did see someone link to some v funky ones recently though. Perhaps you could buy one and be a guinea pig for me. Will see if I can somehow find link.

God I love the way my pooter works. Here you go.

Marthasmama · 09/04/2009 13:27

Oh CSWS they are fabulous! You know me so well. I'll have a proper look now....

aubergenie · 09/04/2009 13:51

Oh I *LOVE those carriers! There's a shop in Brighton that sells dresses made from some of those fabrics. I like The Rebel. Hmm, I need to sell some stuff on Ebay to justify spending £67.99 on yet another carrier.

We're off up north today to visit dp's family for the weekend. Ds is refusing all solids since he was ill, but is bfing for Britain.

Happy Easter everone. Hope all poorly babies are better soon.

Marthasmama · 09/04/2009 13:58

Good old S! He knows how to look after those curves. Have fun at the in-laws!

KSal · 09/04/2009 14:48

I want one of those carriers!
am now busy trying to think of an excuse to buy one! only problem is emma likes to face outwards... hmmmm.

Was she upright? If so, then don't worry. It's only a problem if it's sunken when she's lying down. Was she due a feed? Sometimes it dips a bit when they need a slurp of milk.
