I thought that was the case CSWS but I read on NHS website that they shouldn't have solids and thought, Oh well, must have imagined it. NHS need to up-date their website!

star6 · 07/04/2009 19:34

Sorry myjob - not sure what to do about that. csws will know!
Q had pink spots on the front of his nappy (inside - where he wees) this morning after straining to poo more.
Hes had FIVE lots of quite a bit of poo between last night and tonight. I've had to really help him get them out a LOT. TMI - I had to actually push on the side of his bum where it was coming out to "reshape" it a bit so it would "fit" coming out, then it came sliding out... poor little man. I cried the whole time as at first it kept coming then getting sucked back up and it reminded me of childbirth as he was pushing with all his might and then head to the side falling asleep!!! So exhausted from it all. Poor guy. I wanted to take the pain from him. He's done this five times. And he pushed for at least 20 minutes each time. I've finally given him some cooled boiled water with adrop of apple and a drop of orange juice as the lactulose just seems to irritate him more. He's been really fussy all day (VERY unlike him - he's usually quite happy, always quite calm)...rubbing his eyes... he's SO TIRED. He hasn't stayed asleep for his naps because he wakes up straining after 30 min every time. must be awful. We're going in for jabs and to see HV (1st time in a WHILE) tomorrow at 1pm so hopefully they will help us

Poor Q - sounds horrible for him.

Glad you've had some leaking Myjob!

Well, no more vomiting in this house for a while. I've been feeding ds little and often and he's managed to keep it down. His nappies haven't been very heavy though, so I'm hoping he wakes up a few times tonight to feed.

It turns out that a couple of others from the weekend away have been sick, so we're all wondering who'll be next.

I'm exhausted. Been running around looking after those two and doing loads and loads of washing. Fortunately, I have a very large toblerone in the fridge.

at toblerone.

at Q and his struggle to poo (see, I'm a poet).

Will be having an early night tonight, so don't all talk about me after I've gone to bed .

I'm going to bed early tonight too....

Star - I mentioned this to Loulou. I give M dried apricot, rehydrated in simmering water for about 15 mins, then pureed. She was really backed up and very upset about it today. I had to help her poo by pushing her legs up in a frog position. She spent most of the day screaming because she couldn't poo. But tonight because I had given her apricot, her poo was a lot looser and she wasn't unhappy about pooing. I think I read it in the Gina Ford weaning book when I was weaning ds. It always works for us! Don't give him too much and definately don't give dried apricot whole, it needs to be pureed as it can really choke them.

Fortunately, I have the constitution of an ox, Myjob. I had a slightly dicky tummy last night, so hopefully that will be it.

Dp is still lying on the sofa looking quite ashen. He's got lucozade, gaviscon, water and paracetamol (and the nappy bucket) so I'm hoping he's all set and I can go to bed. Think I might wake ds and try and give him a little feed before I go though.

Hope you get a good sleep tonight CSWS!

How's Alex now, Heather?

Marthasmama · 07/04/2009 21:51

Sorry Aubergenie I missed your post - Glad things have started to calm down (apart for the washing!!). DP can look after himself for a while while you enjoy soem yummy choc. Hope S feels better soon.

jenwa · 08/04/2009 08:30

Hello
All good here.
myjob glad your milk supply is still there also think the same as you re more babies, always have that yearning for more butknow its not a good idea, more money, more stretchy skin and more lasck of sleep

Off to town today so MIL having DD1, hoping she gets to eat a decent lunch and NO ham!! Might make a sandwich for her to take and hope MIL is not offended although she can seem to do what she wants with my DD so maybe I should just pack her a lunch to take only prob is her cousins will be there so may look bad her taking lunch as they may want what she has...ohhhhhhhhhh decisions!!!

jenwa · 08/04/2009 08:31

pepper meant to say sorry about your friends DH, how sad is that, my tummy did a churn when I read that, so scary and so sad. Makes you appreciate what you have.

Wow Pistachio! That's impressive!

We're off out to the Rare Breeds Centre so that I can cuddle the baby goats ds and his mate can see the lambs. Yay!

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/04/2009 09:39

ooh very exciting pistachio.

We had terrible terrible night. Poor ds spent 2 hours at one point sobbing in my arms and refusing to feed. Eventually cooled him down with both nurofen and calpol and then he managed a little feed and a bit of sleep.

With that and my ear infection I feel wrecked, but am taking the children to woburn for the day with friends. Hopefully ds will either perk up or sleep if we are out.

aubergine - alex still isn't better, he has a really stuffy nose and isn't feeding so well as he can't breathe.

pistachio- yeah! they look so cute with just 1 tooth. is this the 1st tooth for the oct babies?

Marthasmama · 08/04/2009 09:45

Oh poor poor D CSWS . It's so hard when they're ill and tiny. They just have no idea what's happening to them. I feel a bit teary for you and D, because I know what it's like.

aubergenie · 08/04/2009 09:51

Hurrah for the first tooth!! Very exciting. Is it a bottom one, or a top one? I thought the bottom ones usually came first, but I think ds might get his top ones first. Is that a bit weird?

Poor ds, CSWS. I don't know anything about slapped cheek. How long does it usually last?

Well. we appear to be D&V free today. Hurrah again. Ds is shrieking once more and doesn't appear to have lost any of his curves, so I'm very relieved. Dp has gone back to work as well.

I'm bidding on an activity ring on ebay. S really enjoyed sitting in the one that was at the house this weekend. I think if I do manage to get one, I can pass on his baby gym back to the person who gave it to me.

aubergenie · 08/04/2009 09:52

X post Heather. Poor old Alex. Sorry to hear that.

aubergenie · 08/04/2009 09:54

Ooh and DS has discovered his fingers. He spends ages sitting in his chair looking at his hands, pinching his fingers and thumb together, presumably working on his pincer grip. I LOVE watching how they develop. It's so interesting.

heather1980 · 08/04/2009 10:41

i do too aubergeine, they are such amazing things. dd never fails to have me in awe, she is like a sponge and sucks up everything.

i just wish that alex would learn to sleep. i find myself snapping at dh for the smallest things. it doesn't help that he wont settle for anyone but me so i am struggling atm. i don't know if i should try some sort of sleep training. it took me over 3 hours last night to get him to sleep, which means my evenings are ruined.

I was wondering where HMM was too Myjob.

Honeymoonmummeeeeeeee - where are you? I hope everything's OK.

KSal · 08/04/2009 11:37

myjob i keep thinking the same about emma not being first to do anything despite being older than all but one on here... never mind. I keep telling myself she is concentrating all her energies on more cerebral pursuits and it is just not evident yet!!

CSWS feeling very sorry for you, sounds like you're having a rough time of it right now.

and poor little Q! I would be pretty upset too star
