i think i have some apricots. i hate the things myself. i prefer prunes yum yum

ronshar · 17/04/2009 22:38

W went from 5-6 poos a day to only going every 2-3 days. However since he was poorly and BF more again he is pooing 2-3 times a day!

So far so good. No sound from the boy. YET.

ronshar · 17/04/2009 22:42

My DH thinks MN is sad. I tell him to not look if it annoys him so much. But then he doesnt do computers mush. His hotmail confuses him.

OOOO Hugh Jackman on Jonathon Ross. I may stay up to watch.

Marthasmama · 17/04/2009 22:47

Dh just said 'I like MN because it has given you some lovely friends'

ronshar · 17/04/2009 23:29

OOOOO good looking and charming. Fancy a trade???

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/04/2009 23:32

too tired. Just marking place.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2009 04:07

oh ffs. Up since 3. What does it take to keep the boy asleep?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2009 08:41

I didn't manage to get on yest as we were travelling back home, and then had playdate for dd, and didn't have any time in between because we had to spend it throwing away all the food from our big fridge freezer, as the power had tripped on Tues so it had been off for 3 days and ruined everything .

Then as soon as the kids were in bed last night I got changed and went out to dinner with friends. They went on for drinks afterwards too, but I was too tired so came home, and just had a quick read of the thread whilst I was getting ready for bed (which was interrupted by ds feeding again).

I cannot for the life of me remember anything that I read, except for Naomi's great weight gain , thanks for recipe Aubergenie (off to take a look now), and I think that I can still be counted as a fully paid up member of the 'not great sleepers club'.

OP posts:
jenwa · 18/04/2009 08:46

csws poor you.
Can you get some rest today is DH at home? SOunds like you need a nice break!

Marthasmama · 18/04/2009 09:39

Why have we got incredible non-sleeping babies? M has no sleep at all druing the day already! She just won't nap. Last night was a bit better as I think we've discovered that she doesn't like the dark. I normally keep one low light on but since DH has been home he's been putting the light out. She still would have prefered to have been with me I think. I have no suggestions CSWS. I wish I could resign from the no sleep club. DH needs to give you a break or you'll get ill. If you don't get enough 90 minute sleep cycles you will start hallucinating! Get him to take the DC out for a walk. You live in a beautiful area there must be plenty of green space to walk in.

aubergenie · 18/04/2009 13:26

Poor CSWS. I thought I had a bad night last night, but it was nothing compared to that. I hope that DH is able to give you a break or you will go mad.

Hurrah for N's weight gain, Myjob! You must be so relieved.

I've got my spring cleaning head on today. I'm not normally a big one for cleaning, but do get occasional bursts of energy in that department. I've been washing walls and cleaning windows. The front room suddenly looks so much lighter!

ronshar · 18/04/2009 13:52

CSWS, that is so rubbish. No sleep is shite. You still manage to fit so much into your days? How do you cope?

Sorry ladies I would like to take a temporary suspension from the NSBC.
William slept from 7.45 through to 4.30am. Its a miracle. Bloody shame I sat here until midnight waiting for him to wake up for his usual bed time feed. The best thing was I didnt get woken up by anything. What bliss.
I am sure William will get his revenge by staying up all night tonight so this is a good feeling while it lasts today

Cleaning?? What is this thing you speak of??

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2009 14:50

Ladies, it's never going to happen that dh would take the kids just so that I can rest, so you may as well stop suggesting it. The only time he's ever done that was when we first discovered that I have gallstones and was doubled over in pain and drugged to the eyeballs.

He is hopefully going to take the dc to the park in a bit so that I can get some jobs done though, and he's currently making bolognese sauce for the freezer (to replace that which was in there) whilst ds takes a post feed snooze on my lap.

Well done on fab sleep ronshar. I was wondering last night how many of the babies have never slept through, so by each of the following random definitions of sleeping through please answer yes if yours has, and no if not:

  1. Sleep from 10pm (or earlier) to 5am (or later).
  2. Sleep from their bedtime (eg 7pm) to 6am or later.
OP posts:
heather1980 · 18/04/2009 15:19

dd sleeps 7pm to about 8:30am ish without waking.
ds goes down at 7pm and is unsettled and up quite a lot until about 11pm then i go to bed. he wakes about 2-3 times in the night but i am in bed with him so i sleep feed him. he wakes up at about 6am. i can usually stretch him out to 8:30 by feeding him and letting him play whilst i doze till dd wakes up.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/04/2009 15:35

So despite a huge for dd's sleep, your ds has never managed either 1 or 2.

OP posts:
heather1980 · 18/04/2009 16:54

alex has never slept all night.

Ekka · 18/04/2009 17:04

CSWS, Matthew has never achieved 1 or 2, but is getting close with 1 as he goes from 7.30pm to 4.30am at the moment (for the last 3 nights). Stupidly I've not taken advantage of this and have stayed up till past midnight each night so am really tired today (& dh is working - boooooo). DD used to sleep through (from 7 months) but recently has been trotting in to our room at about 2am and sometimes not settling till 4am, but luckily dh helps out with her.

I really feel for you - I hate being low on sleep & it sounds as if you need loads to catch up.

Star - thinking about your family and your dn, funnily enough I was looking through a friend's photos on fb of her dd and realised with a shock that she'd been born 13 weeks early, so about the stage your dn is now. She's now a fit & healthy 1-year old so lets hope things work out well for your dn too.... On the passport thing - are both you and your dh american? or does one of you hold a british passport? I'm british but dh is dual Canadian/German citizenship, but we got british passports for both dcs (we will get them Canadian ones but need to organise that through the embassy)

Sorry, got to go, M is trying to wriggle off my lap & dd is getting grumpy for tea....

jenwa · 18/04/2009 19:03

Sorry csws but I have to answer yes to that one. DD1 and DD2 fab sleepers. DD2 goes to bed at 6:30 ish and gets up at 7 ish sometimes 6:30 sometimes 8am depends really and DD1 goes to bed after DD2 6:45/7 ish and wakes up 7am ish too. Sorry I know you dont want to hear it! DD2 Formula fed so dont know if that makes a difference and I am really bad when tired so they would not want to wake me up

jenwa · 18/04/2009 19:25

just been browsing on the threads on here and
OMG There is a thread on BJS!!!

Sorry I was just shocked as people saying how they do it There is one with drinking fizzy drinks whilst doing it!

Anyway, going to watch britains got talent after so hopefully DD will go to bed soon, we are letting her stay up a little later tonight for a treat and the hope she sleeps in later

ronshar · 18/04/2009 19:29

Same here I'm afraid.
DD1 slept through 7-7 from 8 weeks old. BF until 14 weeks then weaned & formula.
DD2 slept through 7-6ish from about 10 weeks. BF until 20 weeks, then formula, started weaning around 17 weeks.
DS has not yet achieved a full night. After 2nd set of baby jabs he slept from 9-7am. Only time. Last night was first "good night".
Sorry.
My DH wouldnt even dream of offering to take children out so I can rest. I have to suggest he takes one or more but he never offers to take all three.
I am up to London next Sunday. My sister is running the Marathon. It will be the first time in I dont know how long he will spend the day alone with the children. First time ever with William as well. Its going to be brilliant. (evil cackle)

pepperrabbit · 18/04/2009 19:45

CSWS

  1. Yes (maybe 4 times?)
  2. No
Though she doesn't need feeding in the night ever...
pepperrabbit · 18/04/2009 19:52

ronshar I hope you're going to leave him 8 loads of washing and a casserole to prepare as well!
DD is formula fed if that makes anyone feel better and I was up at 1.30 and 5.30 last night.
The boys were soooo much better - DS1 slept through at 9 weeks, DS2 at 13 weeks. They still sleep 12/13 hours a night!

Marthasmama · 18/04/2009 19:55

CSWS - for you that your DH won't let you have a nap. They're his dc too so he should take some responsibility. Send him round to me and I'll sort him out for you. Martha has done 1 a handful of times but not 2. Ds bearly does 2! She hasn't done 1 for about 2 months now though. It all went wrong for us when she had her second set of jabs. s to be cuddled for the rest of the night. Thursday night she wouldn't go back in her cot so I was up from about 12.30 until 5am. Then she finally went back in her cot until 7. We start the bedtime routine at 7.30 she is usually in bed by 8. She then wakes up at about 11 when we go up has a feed and then sometimes goes to back to sleep sometimes cries and wantI am actually really annoyed for you that your DH wouldn't let you rest. It's no good for anyone if you're so sleep deprived that you make yourself ill. I'm so spoilt.

Marthasmama · 18/04/2009 19:58

Ronshar - Your DH too?! I'm surpsied as I thought that you and CSWS would be the type of ladies who would give the DH no choice, like me. I really should be grateful eh?

ronshar · 18/04/2009 20:41

It is all a bit complicated. Since I stopped working in 07 DH has kinda stopped with most of the things he used to do when I worked full time/PT.
He does still do alot of cooking, which is handy as I generally burn water. I do make a good roast dinner and a full English breakfast.

I do feel that I cant really complain about the childcare as I am the full time carer.
I do make him get his ass out of bed every Sat/Sun to get the paper from the front door step and make me tea and toast in bed. I also drop crumbs over his side. You gotta get your kicks where you can.
