Myjob, that was yesterdays fun and games. Apparently she did it while she was suppossed to be asleep. Woke up covered in chocolate.

I dont have pages either. But I have absolutely no idea how I got it like this.[grin ] Much better as I dont have to wait for each page to load.

jenwa · 15/04/2009 22:16

I just realised that when I thought heather was chinese I was thinking of Alexa who was in singapore, just read back on the old threads and realised I was confussed or maybe I am stupid but Alexa said she had her baby and the nurses in singapore were lovely.

Confussed about the page view now we all have! I have been on here for a few years and seem to have had the same, I cant remember to be honest!!!!!

SmudgeyDoodle · 15/04/2009 23:12

Feel a bit out of the loop at the moment. DD not sleeping brilliantly, every time computer is on, DS wants to go on Thomas or Night Garden website so not getting much chance to catch up. Have read the thread though and hope all goes well for your nephew Star. The snottiness and pukiness should improve for us all at some time. DD really struggling with her teeth and has taken to crying in her sleep
Really must go to bed now and pepperrabit I saw your tip as I logged on and thought Wow, someone I 'know' is famous!

heather1980 · 15/04/2009 23:38

star- thinking of your dn, and hope he grows big and strong!

jenwa · 16/04/2009 07:40

Got hosp appt today for a dodgy mole so DC off to MIL!

Lozza70 · 16/04/2009 10:09

Hi all

Have not been on MN recently but thought I should catch up on you all. Hope all the little one's are well.

Star sorry to hear your SIL is having a tough time. Will offer up a little one for your DN.

It's all go here with Sander. He will be 7 months next week and I cannot believe how time has flown. No teeth yet but with teething we are keeping Aston and Parson's afloat so I'm hoping the first teeth make an appearance soon. Weaning is going well and he is belting down 3 full meals a day already. Fish is the new taste to be introduced this week so I'm off to make 'fish pie' in a mo, for fish pie read fish, potato, brocolli and cheese sauce mashed up! Sander has started to crawl but only backwards so he is finding that frustrating when he moves further away from he favourite toys. We are hoping for some forward movement soon.

Was hoping to go to the park this afternoon but it looks like yesterdays good weather was a one off!

Any of the more experienced of you have any tips for changing a nappy when your LO keeps turning over. We just keep getting poo everywhere

pepperrabbit · 16/04/2009 12:37

Morning all, should be doing a million other things but seem to be mooching on internet instead .
hello Lozza - nothing useful to suggest re nappy changing, DD is the same and it's very frustrating - and messy!
smudgey - nice to "see" you again! I share your probs with computer - except it's DH spending his evenings killing aliens at the moment - how can that be more important than Mumsnet????
heather - I cheated and bought Doodles for DS2 this week, a snip at £14 after he grew out of his last pair of shoes in 5 weeks @ £35 - he didn't even wear them that much as he prefered a pair of DS1 cast-off trainers

  • If anyone needs 7F boys shoes - hardly worn I'll send them to you!
My tumble dryer arrives tomorrow DS2 weed (or is it wee'd?) on the bathmat yesterday, after wetting his bed overnight. I nearly cried at trying to dry all that lot manually. Have you ever run around the garden flapping a damp pillow around in desperation?
aubergenie · 16/04/2009 12:55

Lozza, welcome back. LOL at Sander's backwards crawling. Ds has discovered that he can shuffle around on his back by pushing his feet against the floor. It makes him look like an upside-down caterpillar. It takes a mammoth effort though, and he has to psych himself up for each push. Really funny to watch.

I share your drying woes Pepper. It's raining today, and I've got a whole load of washing to dry and nowhere to hang it. I've already had to rewash a load that didn't dry quick enough and got that horrible damp washing smell. But it's too warm to put the heating on. We recently got a washer dryer, but I feel so guilty about using the drying bit, that I hardly ever put it on. Needs must though. (And it does make the towels lovely and soft .)

jenwa · 16/04/2009 13:29

I would love to come spend the day with each on of you as everyone seems so funny. Especailly watching pepper flapping a damp pillow in the garden!

We got rid of our washer dryer last year after it gave up and just got a washing machine, cheap indesit and it wal lovely and quiet and now sounds like a plane taking off pain as no where to dry stuff as DH took washing line down as did not like it where it was and never replaced it...... who does the washing here....!!!! Anyway to be honest I never found the dryer on our washer/dryer to be great, they are not supposed to be as good as a normal tumble dryer. My friend tumble drys all her stuff, comes straight out of washing into tumble dryer!

lozza I remember DD1 doing that turning whilst changing her nappy, all I could do was hold her feet together in the air and try to keep her in one place and blow Very loud rasberries!!!!

Myjob - If it's any consolation, ds shows no inclination to roll either. His sitting is really good now, but the rolling thing doesn't seem to have occurred to him.

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 16:50

Myjob - DON'T WORRY! M is still rubbish! She can jsut about sit on her own, sometimes, if she feels like it, on a Wednesday as long as it is an even numbered hour..... So practically never! She can't roll, well she can but she hates being on her front so much she won't. She can't push herself up on her arms either. Ds was better at that than she is now when he was half her age! But, she can understand a few words and is making loads of sounds. She definately makes the sound pattern of hello if you've been out of view for a while. Girls do communication and social skills, boys do the big physical things. N is blowing kisses! I bet none of the boys are. M gives cuddles and kisses all the time, ds didn't do that until after he was walking.

Aubergenie - Awwww I like the image of S making a huge effort to move a couple of inches. DH is a big fan of S after seeing those lovely pics of him on FB! Oh and yes I like those shoes, my friend has a similar pair and says they are very comfy.

Lozza - They almost always crawl backwards at first until they get their co-ordination sorted out.

Pepper - No, I haven't. But would have loved to have witnessed the 'dance of the wet pillowcase'.

Ronshar - Your dd sounds very wise. If she's eating her choc in secret then no other bugger can pester her for some. Good girl

CSWS - I hope you did could sleep and did sleep last night. M has developed the helpful habit of waking up at around 3 and only going back to sleep if I hold her. It's very sweet but .

I got M's baby welcoming dress today in the Gap midseason sale here is a picture. I now just need to find something for her to wear with it!! But I've got 5 weeks. I also need to hire a marquee get something for me as I have nothing to wear .

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/04/2009 16:52

ds doesn't roll back to front either myjob (he can sit well now) - not enough time spent on his back!

OP posts:
Ekka · 16/04/2009 18:02

Just catching up, but the great excitement here is that ds just rolled from his back to his front - 1st time ever just now .

Will have to catch up later as I've now got dd trying to climb on him to hug him

Oh, and I spent ages preparing a really nice dinner for this evening, and DP has come home, bathed ds and fallen fast asleep because he got up at quarter to five this morning when S woke up and went to work early.

So, I'm sitting in the kitchen drinking wine wondering what to do with myself.

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 19:23

Aubergenie - A baby welcoming or sometimes called a baby naming ceremony is the civil alternative to a christening. We have many non-religious mates and Alex is not christened so it would be a huge pickle trying to sort it out so they could be involved in a Christian ceremony. We had one for ds and it was lovely. You officially welcome the baby into the family and various people make promises to the baby. Ollie has written some promises that he is going to make to his sister. I helped him and when I read out what he had written to Alex we all got a bit teary. Soppy buggers! I'll find it and copy and past it to a message.

Here you go -

I promise to always look after you and protect you from bad things.

I promise to cuddle you when you are sad and laugh with you when you are happy

I promise to be a good brother and will always be there for you.

I will play with you when you want to play and sit with you when you are quiet.

Martha, I am very happy that you are my sister and I promise to love you forever.

He told what he wanted to say and I wrote it for him. Bless him. He probably nearly jumped on her or trod on her hand almost immediately aftewards though.

Marthasmama · 16/04/2009 19:59

Aubergenie - Drinking wine sounds lika a good place to start!

Myjob - M's hair is still falling out and she still has loads. So worry ye not!
