not too hot and stuffy! ugh

Marthasmama · 15/04/2009 18:25

I use one of those star but it has the opposite effect on M. It was har reaaly wiggly and she spends her time trying to pull the cover off. It's so difficult to get her to concentrate.

M has started a new and rather unpleasant new habit. When feeding, she keeps trying to stuck in more and more boob. She latches on, the tries to open wider and push her mouth further forward. She is just getting so difficult to bf and I'm sure she must be taking less milk.

haha on the boobs subject I am not big but wish I was although they appear to have sagged even though they are small . ronshar I have been measured in the past as a A cup and it was sooooo tight and finally ended up with a c cup but if you wear underwire you should always go a cup size bigger as it needs to support under your boob. So I went from a 'A' to a 'D' in minutes

Am anout a 34 c ish but really depends on the bra, if no underwire they just make me like pancakes but push them up my nipples poke over the top (sorry tmi) so need bigger cups

Been ordering photos today, been mad but finally did it through tescos. Ordered about 140 and it came to £9 so pretty good plus I get points

Need to order more really for family but will do another time!

My sister in law just delivered her baby (26 weeks 5 days) as she was developing HELLP syndrome.... they told her if she didn't deliver TODAY she might die. So baby was just born a few hours ago - she's more stable now, but baby - no news yet - they haven't seen him at all. As soon as he was born he was taken away. I remember when they took Q for a bit to do the glucose tests and all that and we were so nervous... I can't imagine what they must be feeling I want to go see them now.. but they are in America and Q still doesn't have a passport!

ronshar · 15/04/2009 19:52

You can get a passport really quickly Star. Passport office is in Victoria. Get yourself a flight and go see your family. It is always such a sad time when a baby is born so small. Fingers crossed that your nephew is a fighter and he stays strong.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/04/2009 19:53

Oh bless them star. Will keep them in my thoughts. There was a lady on here who was due a few weeks before us but delivered at 24+3, and her dd has been remarkably fine by all accounts. Let's hope that your SIL's baby does just as well.

Thanks ronshar. We still arent' sure if we should get him a british or american passport or what he's allowed to get. conflicting information everywhere.

OOOH OOH OOOH look ladies!!!
My tip, is Tip of The Day!!!!! I'm so excited. I'm probably the only one who's sent one in but hey, MN fame for 24 hours.

star6 · 15/04/2009 20:14

What's the tip, pepper??
Exciting!
Thanks so much. Not sure if we should go now... both parents both sides are there and I think they are feeling overwhelmed... I'm thinking that us being there, with our lively healthy baby might be more in the way than anything else. Perhaps we should give it a bit of time until things settle down and they don't have such a full house (Even though they are in hospital).
It is encouraging to hear that babies born so early make it and are healthy! Thanks! Dr told them 85% chance, so that sounds good. And SIL is doing better now, too.

pepperrabbit · 15/04/2009 20:25

star - sorry have just read rest of thread. You have to go with your gut feeling I think - if you will be more useful later then wait a bit, if you're really close to your brother then go, even if it's for a few days, they'll appreciate it.
Wait 24 hours, get Q a passport anyway and then decide?
Not joining in the bra debate - pouty sulky at nominal breasts here!
Tip of the day is on the front page of Talk, might be on main page but I don't come in that way so haven't checked. And have calmed down now

pepperrabbit · 15/04/2009 20:26

CSWS - how are you doing? Just saw your FB status. Hopefully you won't see this cos you've gone to bed and are fast asleep??

Marthasmama · 15/04/2009 20:27

Woohoo Pepper! I am sooooo ! I dream of having a quote of the day. I'd never get a tip of the day as I spout crap all day and nothing useful!

Star - Sorry to hear about your nephew. CSWS is right (surprise! ) there are loads of stories on here about women having very early, very tiny babies and about them getting stronger and stronger. Babies are tough little things.

star6 · 15/04/2009 20:31

Great tip, pepper! I'll keep that in mind for when Q is moving around
We got an activity station off ebay today. Q loves it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/04/2009 20:40

Afraid I'm still here Pepper. Hoping to watch the Apprentice and then go to bed and sleep for 8 hours straight . Did have a slightly better night last night, but since the roughly 5 hours I got is the best night for a couple of weeks or more I think it's just the cumulative thing, plus the stress of constantly walking on eggshells at my parents. And we've been for lots of walks over the last few days too.

Yay for activity station star. Which one did you get?

aubergenie · 15/04/2009 20:45

Oh Star, How scary for everyone. As others have said, the prognosis for babies born so early is so much better these days. I'll be keeping them in my thoughts. It must be horrible being so far away at times like this.

Good idea to sort out the passport anyway, once you know which nationality to go for, then you can see how the land lies.

Very exciting news Pepper!

Well, the BLW book finally arrived at the library today, so I'm going to get stuck in and hopefully get over my choking fear. Ds still refuses to eat anything. I think he may associate being sick with the newly introduced food.

Star, can you get dual nationality? I have an Irish and English passport. All thanks to Irish maternal family.
Pepper great tip of the day. Can you come up with something to stop my DD2 eating all her easter eggs secretly under her duvet??

jenwa · 15/04/2009 21:43

star I hope your nephew does well, its always worrying but babies can be fighters. I will be thinking of him and hoping they are all ok. I have never heard of HELLP syndrome!
