star - sorry should have read whole post not just your first question! Clearly Q is not much better . DD often has really cold hands and they don't seem to bother her. I tend to judge their temps by the backs of the necks and how that feels to my touch.
If he has a rash, then sometimes that's the end of a virus.
If you're worried then call NHS Direct.

heather1980 · 10/04/2009 15:19

pepper lol. i remember when i was pregnant with dd my aunt told me i was fat and needed to loose weight. but then she is obsessed with peoples weight.

I can't wait for weaning now! Sooo jealous of you all!

Yes CSWS, I meant the legs out the back, I think I would be better off with a square base (or a circular one....mmm 3-sixtyyyy. ) I think I might just go for it and get the one I really like and sod the practicalities. Really bad idea or what???

pepperrabbit · 10/04/2009 18:36

We're not weaning yet HMM. DD is 25 weeks today so we don't need to feed her "properly" for at least 7 more days!
It's as if as the clock ticks past midnight their tummies are going to go now.
Seems unlikely

star6 · 10/04/2009 18:54

Ok, now I'm starting to panic. The HV told me to put wheatabix in breastmilk and give it to Q to help his bowels along... so I did and now I just realized that I've introduced WHEAT... SO... I'm thinking, stupid me... gave wheat on same day as 3rd set of jabs... the fever and fussiness is obviously from the jabs but is it possible that this horrid rash is from the wheat? It's raised and red and ALL OVER his tummy and back and neck. I found out from NHS direct (thanks for suggestion) that I can give 5ml of calpol now. I might do that tonight.
I feel ridiculous, but Q is such a tranquil baby most of the time and if he's fussy and we walk around with him, he stops and is incredibly happy... but this has been insane! He's just continually fussy.
HMM get the chair you want - yes, I agree, sod the practicalities!! .
HV suggested a petit filous fromage frais apricot pot to feed to Q to "get him used to dairy" and help him poo?? This seems like bad advice to my instincts, but my instincts aren't so great, so what do you think?

pepperrabbit · 10/04/2009 19:07

I'm all in favour of fromage frais and DS1 ate a ridiclulous amount as a baby - but I'd have to say I'm not convinced the apricot content would be high enough to make a difference?
Bet he'd love it though so it might just cheer him up
Hope the extra calpol helps.

star - getting a baby used to something that they have shown to have a problem with is a nuts idea IMO. Add to that the fact that a little pot of petit filou contains 3 teaspoons of sugar, and you can work out for yourself what I think of your hv's advice.
That said, when you do re-introduce dairy to his diet, fromage frais or yoghurt is the recommended first way to try it, so she's not completely bonkers.

Which is the chair you really like hmm?

This one that you originally told us about CSWS

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/04/2009 20:44

Well I'd say go for it, but check if you can get it anywhere else first. They didn't deliver our Zuma and couldn't say when they would be in stock (it was always 'any day now' when I spoke to them), so we ended up having to cancel our order and get it somewhere else.

Marthasmama · 10/04/2009 20:46

Damn!!! I would have put money on you being as insane as me and going for the Bloom.

Honeymoonmummy · 10/04/2009 21:02

The bloom is truly gorgeous MM but a leeetle too expensive

Just found it in Baby Planet for £120 anyone used them?

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/04/2009 21:09

Nope, but at least it tells you how long to expect to wait for delivery. Go for it!

But kiddicare service second to none, so you could get in touch and see if they'll price match, as it says that they won't be beaten on price.

That's not a bad idea CSWS, thanks. I was eyeing uo the Polly today Myjob, isn't that the one you got?

Marthasmama · 10/04/2009 21:24

To be honest, at the moment M spends more time in her brother's old Bumbo with the try attached! . Money well spent on that Bloom highchair eh?!

Marthasmama · 10/04/2009 21:25

Tray not try. I have been terrible tonight!

Honeymoonmummy · 10/04/2009 21:25

It was only released in Feb so there's no wonder there's noone stupid enough to buy it no reviews yet. I'm gonna order it tomorrow, hopefully it will have arrived by the time we get back from hols

Grrrr. 2hrs sleep from ds, and then 45 mins to resettle him (didn't even want a feed), and am still not quite sure if he's off properly. I was going to go to bed at 10, but still have a programme I wanted to watch before we go away in the morning.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 10/04/2009 22:16

I just put Poppy down 30 mins ago and she started stirring so I put the hairdryer on Feeling really bad now cos she probably has wind... have only just had my tea tho!!! Might go back up now and try to wind her.

Where are you going CSWS?

Marthasmama · 10/04/2009 22:24

M stirred about 30 mins ago. I just ignored her and she went back to sleep . To be fair, she only went - Errr errrrr waaaahhhh. Then stopped. She was incandesent with rage tonight! So angry, so tired!

My friend came round today. She has been through a long and painful break up and she is so skinny! She lost loads of weight from the stress bless her. HE started cheating on her with a 21 year old (only 8 years older than his eldest ds ) and then tried to balme her because she wanted a baby and he didn't. I am so angry with him as he was my friend too. I have deleted him from my friends on FB now I know what he did. I have asked DH to leave me for a younger model in the hope that I'll get skinny, but only if he comes back when I'm the weight I want to be. Probably best not to joke, luckily DH said no thanks. Bless him. I'd rather be fat and happy with DH than thin and lonely without him.

Marthasmama · 10/04/2009 22:26

Damn I forgot to check my spelling before I posted... I meant incandescent and blame.
