I am aren't I?
Of course, whenever you're free.
I'll private message you my address on your fb inbox.
You'll have to remember that I used it for ds1 for about 8 months. I used it a few weeks back as it's easier to push than my other single and it's ok. I'll get dp to get it out of loft and I'll give it a hoover and wipe down, but like I said, if on seeing it, you don't like it, that's fine. I won't be offended, so don't feel you have to take it

herbgarden · 29/04/2009 20:32

Oh god I'm tired, it's my turn to do the late's. I don't look forward to bed anymore as I know I'll be woken at 5am after an 11.30 bedtime.......maybe I'll go to the spare room and put ear plugs in so that I can hear the baby but not DS?!!!...I might just lose the plot if he does that again in the morning........

littleboyblue · 29/04/2009 20:35

herb You poor thing. You have my full sympathy and understanding. Ds1 starts crying at times in the night, but most times, you get to his room and he's fast asleep
Can you go to bed now for a few hours? Or can dh do the late tonight seeing as you're so tired?

dinkystinky · 29/04/2009 20:36

Herb - chant after me "Its just a phase - this too will pass" until you slump unconscious....

thehouseofmirth · 29/04/2009 21:04

Oh PSL how horrid but what a lovely brother you have!

Dinky bleurgh!!

Herb why not go to bed really early and get a few hours in before 11.30? I'm off to bed right now...

PolkSaladLucie · 29/04/2009 21:22

I know, THOM - he does have his uses! BTW, you were a question on eggheads earlier!!!

herb Get ye to bed...

PinkTulips · 29/04/2009 21:29

dinky, just went back and re read and saw about your ds1.

you have my deepest sympathy... dd went through a phase like that, she called me into the room one morning when she was about 2 all excited and wanted to give me something... i thought it was a toy so held out my hand... to be handed a lump of poo at 7am in the morning, at which point i realised she had the nappy off

my ds1 is still refusing to poo in the loo, had to put a pull up on him going out as i knew he needed to but he refused to do it on the loo. he also wet himself later on. am losing faith in the potty training... especially as i appear to just suck at it... dd peed all over the couch today and tried to blame ds1 she's 4 fgs and she's not properly potty trained, what made me think ds1 would grasp it any better when i'm clearly incapable of teaching them

herbie, i hope you're in bed already! if not go now and get a couple of hours before the late feed. hope tomorrow is better with your ds, he may surprise you!

littleboyblue · 29/04/2009 21:42

PT I don't have any experience of potty training and am dreading it! I'm sure you're doing all you can and I imagine after years of just going as and when they like, to have to go in a toilet must be very difficult and strange for them.
You're not incapable of teaching them, I'm sure like everything else, some get it quicker than others, but that is by no means a reflextion on your parenting skills, and you know that. Stick with it, it'll all fall into place one day.

dinkystinky · 29/04/2009 21:42

Pink - I'm taking the stoic " What doesnt kill you makes you stronger" (or in DS1's case, stinkier) approach to potty training - we'll all get there in the end somehow, including your DS1 and DD (who knows, maybe third time will be a charm and Aaron will get it immediately when he starts potty training). And hey, at least all your dd's wee antics will give you lots of embarrassing stories to roll out for boyfriends in years to come DH was rolling out stories about his sister weeing herself at her wedding when giving the father of the bride speech at her wedding in September - had the whole congregation in stitches...

Hello

Love to you all, I would post longer but I am trying to win a competition to be an extra in Shameless.

mslucy · 29/04/2009 22:31

I don't know if this is any comfort to any of you, but ds1 is 4 next month and still is only semi house trained.

He knows perfectly well what to do but can't be arsed to go to the toilet if he's playing/watching TV/looking at the cbeebies website. He also wees/poos himself if he's tired/cross/eaten too many raisins.

We started toilet training him at Xmas 2007 ffs. We've done the whole sticker chart thing, but they only seem to work for a bit. I can only assume that one day peer pressure will get the better of him and he will clean up his act.

So don't expect too much of them or feel you're doing anything wrong. It's a messy, smelly business - esp where boys are concerned.

Hope everyone's having a lovely day. I left Stan for the first time today with a friend of mine who works as a nanny as I had to go and give a talk to some students. I was gone 3 hours and he was fine - even drank from a bottle (milk I'd pumped out last night).

But boy was he glad to see mummy's booby.

Off to clinic tomorrow for more jabs and weigh in - also going ask about the spots which I think are infant acne. Have been cleaning with cool boiled water and they seem to be clearing a bit, but still a bit scabby.

re: pushy mums. Thinking about it for next Fri, but found FREE postnatal exercise class run by council, which may be a better bet.

Though would much rather be out in the fresh air, esp if other people fancy coming too (dinky, elkie etc)

elkiedee · 29/04/2009 23:00

MarkStretch, being an extra in Shameless sounds exciting, though living out the part in real life doesn't sound too healthy. (We've been watching series 2 recently, hope C's first words don't come from that or Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps).

Have arranged C's 2nd set of jabs for late next Wed afternoon, so if he doesn't have a bad reaction I'm hoping to be free to trek across to Pushy Mums.

PolkSaladLucie · 30/04/2009 08:17

lbb8 Just seen on fb that lardybump has a spare pram, and she's only round the corner from me. Thanks so much for your offer, but it'll be useful to have it asap, so I'm gonna borrow hers. xxx

dinkystinky · 30/04/2009 08:17

Despite a 5 am start courtesy of Danny, better start to the day in the dinkystinky household as DS1 hadnt done a dirty protest - phew! Thanks MsLucy - logically I know toilet training is an ongoing process and it can a long time for kids, especially boys, to get it but emotionally its good to know that there are other people going through the same thing too, if you know what I mean. Glad Stanley was ok with your friend yesterday too. Worth giving the council class a go and if you dont like it, then trying pushy mums instead. I have to admit I quite like exercising outdoors on the heath when the weather is nice but when its not, its not so much fun.

littleboyblue · 30/04/2009 08:18

Ok. I saw that message and could see she was closer. That's fine, as long as you can get around.

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 10:46

still no car, dp in athlone and the buggy and sling are in my car so no way to get dd to playschool.... the're already killing each other and i can't leave the house [sobs]

thanks mslucy... logically i know they'll get it eventually but some days it just feels like i'm going to be dealing with pee and po all over my house forever. dd has enough peer awareness never to do it at playschool but sees nothing wrong with not bothering to go to the loo when i'm around... and now ds1 has the same mentality it's just wearing me down a little.

dinky... thank god there was no poo warfare this morning in your house, ds1 pooed his nappy before we got up so that's another chance lost but at least it wasn't his knickers for once!

3 of the kittens have definite homes lined up and the other 2 are being considered by prospective owners, delighted as due to the time of year i was concerned they might be hard to rehome with so many spring kittens about.

nkweto · 30/04/2009 12:52

hi all,

Calico hope all is well with your little one, how very scary ...

welcome back nadssss ! lovely name for your DD

PT, Dinky and all potty training ladies.. i am so scared of the potty extravangaza ! DS can now tell us immediately when he has done a poo or big wee..simply because he was so uncomfortable when he was ill..but still refuses to look at the potty

QK hope all kidney issues are sorted soon,

We are going on holiday tomorrow ... we are going to stay with my mum for several weeks, i am so happy and excited and she has a big GARDEN for DS to run around in..

Our childcare woes continue..so we are now contemplating a big life change.. move back to brum and get a place with a garden. Childcare will be cheaper and very good (might even get my best friend as she is looking for a nanny job at the moment !!!!!)...workwise it will be a lot harder as I will still have to do a lot of work in London, but we are rapidly running out of viable options !

I would love a June meet up... so far I think MOS, Dinky, Lbb have all expressed interest ?

talk soon.. maybe from a warm outdoor place !

dinkystinky · 30/04/2009 14:58

Nkweto - have a wonderful holiday. Hope all the packing is sorted. Sorry you're still having massive childcare worries - an extra layer of stress you dont need at the moment given you're all recovering from the pox. Wow re the moving out to Brum solution though - you're right that childcare will be ALOT cheaper out there. Hope hourswise and commutingwise it would work for you and your DH too though.

Pink - hope the weather is ok for you so you can turn the kids outside so they can kill each other in the great outdoors leaving you and Aaron in lovely solitude...

Hello all please forgive me for not being on very much but it is your fault for introducing me to facebook and all its games.......

DS is having a tough time with his reflux and today is being a very sicky day..... He has dropped a whole centile in the last two weeks so HV has said that if in two weeks time he dropes agian it is back to hospital for us to get some stronger drugs.... great.

DD is going through a very weard stage as well which I could handle if DS just stopped crying!!!! All in all though we are all ok no breast feeding still going strong although I would love a little break as he is still feeding every two hours. I have a whole freezer full of EBM but he wont take the bottle!!!!!!! Rat bag.....

Lovely seeing you today PSL sorry dd was being a bit of a pickle and ds was grumpy. Hope the pushchair is ok!!!

lardybump · 30/04/2009 15:08

drops not dropes thats what you get for trying to type with a toddler asleep on your lap..

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 15:28

lardy... aaron is a bottle refusnik too.... much to my surprise as the little sod took them in scbu!

sorry your ds is suffering so badly with the reflux, have faith though, it does get better over time, just get through the next few months and it'll ease down hugely.

nkweto... wow, big decision to make re the move, if you could afford childcare and a house with a garden though it sounds like a good decision to return to brum. enjoy your holiday, you badly need it after the last few months

dinky... kids have been booted out and my house is calm again

littleboyblue · 30/04/2009 19:40

nkweto Have a wonderful holiday, you deserve it.
LB Fingers crossed ds puts a bit of weight on over the next 2 weeks then. Reflux is horrible isn't it?

Had a lovely day today, took the boys to Woking on the bus to meet a friend and her ds, so we had some lunch and then went to soft play. Ds1 had a great time, and was nice to get out of crappy Stanwell/Staines
Knackered now though. Dp is sitting in with ds1 while he goes to sleep.

Nothing exciting to report here. I have my smear test tomorrow. I hate those things.

mslucy · 30/04/2009 20:49

dinky/elkie
Have decided to check out pushy mothers on 8th at Parliament Hill.
I think the session starts at 1:15/1:30.
Do you fancy hooking up a few mins before?

Took Stan for more jabs today and they gave me some emollient for his face which seems to have helped a bit.

Hopefully he will soon be looking less like phantom of the opera.

DS1 did a MASSIVE poo on the toilet this morning - lots of praise etc etc but still managed to poo himself again this afternoon - watching TV/playing on the computer and could not be bothered to move!

thehouseofmirth · 30/04/2009 21:00

Evening all. Hope everyone's well.

Had a nice day here today. Baking with DS1 this morning then DS1 & DS2's god-less mothers, and another friend all came for lunch.

Mr T not quite himself today poor little man; lots of crying but not sure why. Babies, eh?!

Hope he goes to sleep soon so I can too. I've got a really sore throat. Daren't tell DH as he'll probably want to lock me in the shed as some makeshift quarantine measure. He's lapping up all the Swine Flu hysteria and is hatching a plan for us all to pack up and go to his mum's in Wales. Caught him googling bio suits earlier...

dinkystinky · 30/04/2009 21:30

Cool - will be nice to see you MsLucy and you too Elkie if you feel like it. Think the session officially starts at 1.30 - happy to meet wherever suits beforehand. Maybe by the cafe gates (just down from the bandstand)? Glad the cream seems to be helping with Stanley's baby acne.

THOM - Danny has been like that too today; he's still got a bloody cold (and is snotty up the most enormous green crusty bogies through the night - lovely) and his sleep patterns are all over the shop - am keeping my fingers crossed he finally kicks this cold before we go on holiday in a couple of weeks. Took DS1 to toddler yoga at triyoga for the first time today and Danny came along to watch and both boys loved it (was pretty much the only part of the day that Danny wasnt yelling his head off) - its amazing how early the fascination with older kids starts in babies!
