New thread here.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheRedSalamander · 14/04/2009 21:46

yes sk i was reading our old threads to remind myseld of who we've not heard from in a while, made me all sentimental too! Feels so long ago.

Poledra · 14/04/2009 22:15

God, have you lot been talking to each other since before you were pg? I hadn't encountered MN till I was pg with DD3. So, I didn't have a TTC thread, and then I was cheated out of an Am I in Labour thread by my induction - not fair!!

pigleychez · 14/04/2009 22:24

Hope everyone had a good Easter. Been a bit of a non event here this year.

Red- BLW here too and yes, we have plenty of mess but its great fun Abigail has taken to throwing food / swiping the tray when shes had enough.
No teeth yet here either!

Jodie- Who enjoyed Thomasland the most?? You or DC?

Rumpel- Hope you are all recovering from your bugs

Isaidno- Hows being a Veggie going?

Disney- Glad you had a good day out
Sorry to hear about your AF problems. Im ususally pretty heavy for a day then light for another few days and thats it. No pain but maybe achey legs and hips.

Poledra- Glad you had a good holiday
re cups: Abigail has the tommee tippe free flow one too. She does drop it on the floor but we are slowly improving with that. Shes very good using it and (isaidno) We have just overcome the showers now I too have tried many cups/spouts but the Tippee one seems the best for her.

SK- I know what you mean about our Babies growing up far to quickly I remember those TTC threads too !
Abigails another one who HATES her nose being wiped. The neighbours must think im trying to kill her!

Dothis- Hope LO recovers quickly.... ready for fights with his brother

Rumpel- Thats for the comments about Abigail.. I think so too but im biased!
oh Yeah- Pigley = Cheryl.
A new do sounds fab! Go pamper yourself!

Bebe- Sounds like Pheobe enjoyed Easter!
Guess you have the decorating bug now... Its nice to see the difference isnt it

Blimey its taken hours to write that! stopping and starting, one eye on the tv, checking emails!

Trip to Ikea today for Abigails furniture.. took both cars as theres no way it would all fit in with 3 in the car. DH's car was full to the brim! Furniture's not going up till the carpets fitted on thursday then ill post some pics

My god!! Now Abigail can crawl she is into EVRYTHING!!! She pulls herself up at anything and im sure she will be off soon!
Her fav thing at the mo is the TV and DVD player. Turing them on and off and watching the buttons turn blue!
We have ordered a new tv unit with doors on the front as DH's poor Expensive DVD player is taking a battering plus the glass stand we have isnt the safest really. Gone are the days of style!

Proper internet and phone being connected tomorrow, Carpets on Thursday and Sky HD fitted on Sat so then we will be sorted... TV, Phone, carpet and internet... what more could one want!

pigleychez · 14/04/2009 22:28

Sorry ladies.... Thats a mammouth post! But theres so much to catch up on

shortshafe · 14/04/2009 22:32

Am Lurking.....

All ok here - Isaac can now crawl (commando style, 1 leg dragging behind him like a wounded soldier!) but goes really fast - nothing is safe and dd is unimpressed that her toys are now fair game!

Disney - next time you go to Alton Towers let me know - I can get discount on rooms at a hotel nearby, You're right - there's far too much to do in 1 day now.
I also get really anaemic through heavy periods, spatone is great for bumping up your iron levels.

bebejones - we used to do the Alton Towers fireworks too, they were FAB!

sweetkitty · 14/04/2009 22:35

pigley - oh yes crawling is fun, we wall mounted our new TV not through wanting to be fashionable but to stop it getting wrecked, I have had to move the modem too she kept getting in at it

minipinkscottish · 15/04/2009 08:10

Hi all I am lurking Abbie crawling backwards and at last has one tooth.

We had a busy easter here but dc's bored now and soooooooooo full of sugar they are driving me and each other mad

Been a bit low recently...tired and grumpy Abbie growing up so fast...makes me all broody. Watched "The Hospital" last night and saw all these teenage mums....they don't have a clue how special a baby is ...couldn't believe the girl who wouldn't have injections to help her and baby because she said she was afraid of needles even though she was covered in piercings
Anyone else see it?

Momma23 · 15/04/2009 08:13

Morning all

No crawling here at all, DD1 & 2 were well on there way at this stage. DD3 just not happening. Think she will walk b4 crawl. All in good time.

Isaidno
Re dishwasher, We used ours all the time when there were just 2 of us. Now i tend to wash up use dishwasher once twice a week now. Why i dont know.

Up at 7 this morning usually we dont rise till after 8. Raining here today so looks like kids will be in all day. Have to clean out kitchen cuboards today and wash the whole kitchen units. If i get all that done i will be sooooooo proud of myself.

sweetkitty · 15/04/2009 18:33

Right here you go here's the Luna saga (I warned you all) right as DD2 has decided she is too big for a pram I sold the P&T to a lovely MNer who was looking for one. I asked the lovely ladies in the Pushchair shed which one I should get next, I loved the look of the Luna and kept looking at them on ebay. I saw a bargain one and bought it at £55 but then realised it didn't have a bumper bar as it was version 1. So it arrived and I was a bit about it, the wheels looked really worn like falling apart worn. So I ordered new wheels and a bumper bar from M&P. When they arrived I couldn't get the wheels on so phoned M&P and they said they didn't come off so why did they sell me them? So I could send it back adn they would replace them for £50. Oh and I got a £30 refund back from the seller as there were other things she failed to mention too. Then one of the girls on the pushchair thread had a code for Littlewoods which meant if I ordered a Lunamix I would get a new one for £110 so thats what I did. I much prefer the Lunamix chassis but not the covers so I have pinked it up again with my other covers so my princess still has her pink mobile I will sell the purple hood that came with the Lunamix and some other bits and bobs to fund the new pram and keep DP happy.

Phew

Apart from that not much else happening here, Bethany has worked out pea eating so pincer grip is there now which is a bad thing as today took her up for her nap, lay on bed and fed her for good 20 mins then she decides she isn't going to sleep so plays with me for a bit and I am like whats that in her mouth a bit of silver paper must have been there all during her feed. From an Easter egg one of the other two must have sneaked past me.

minipink - sorry to hear you are feeling low know how you feel I am very broody as well and you know how much I hate being pregnant.

I saw a message from disney on FB saying she had deleted her membership from everything and that she wanted to spend time with her family

Momma23 · 15/04/2009 21:23

SK
My good lord at least you have the buggie you want. That is most important. I bough a graco stroller and hate it (got it at a bargin price)! Wont even use it. Keep using my M&P buggie for DD2 and 3 as i like it so much. Have a McClaren twin and not to gone on it as it is really gruby now and worn for DD1 & 2. Must have a look into selling what i have a purchase a new one. Think you have now past on the buggie saga to me
Hope disney is ok, will miss her.

Ok today went well did no house work!! as house falls apart Really need to get into gear and sort out cloths, rooms etc....

ponto · 15/04/2009 21:58

SK, hope you're planning to stick with this buggy for a while!

Momma23, I have done no housework today either, kept telling myself I would start when the children were in bed but I'm on here again....

We got back from our Easter trip around 3 lots of relatives last night, there is so much washing, bags everywhere, no food in the house, I can't face it at the moment! Sympathies on the broken dishwasher Isaidno, mine is working but I'm hoping that the plates will take it upon themselves to jump in there unaided (about as much chance of that happening as dh doing it )

Pigley, your FB photos are lovely, I am in awe and of your organisational skills - decorating rooms, barbecues and posting photos online only a couple of weeks after moving in, that type of thing takes me years!

Bryony is another one who hates nose wiping, thankfully there is less call for it at last. She does have a horrible dribble rash under her chin which we are struggling with, I'm finding nappy cream is the most helpful but nothing will clear it up completely. It's only on the right side, so I think it must be due to thumb sucking.

Who else is still bfing? I was thinking today that she's 9 months now, dd2 refused feeds from 11 months, I could only have 2 months of feeding left We only do 3 feeds a day now and it doesn't take long, but it is still a lovely cuddly time and I don't want it to end.

Re cups, Bryony has a Tommee Tippee one too, but her favourite thing to drink out of is a sports bottle if she can get her hands on one belonging to dd1 or dd2. I'm not sure whether it's because she prefers that style of spout or whether it's because they contain squash rather than water. She hardly drinks anything apart from breastmilk though, dd1 was the same and I tried loads of different cups, but now I can't be bothered. She appears not to be dehydrated, and she can always suck water out of her wash mitt at bathtime if she's really desperate - her favourite bathtime activity

JODIEwantsanewname · 15/04/2009 22:22

Hi all,

cass just looked at your holiday photos and you all looked like you had a great time!

SK I wish I could have a luna, DS1 doesn't go in the P&T anymore either, but I find it really good to steer one handed while I'm grabbing holding DS1's hand!

pigley I agree with Ponto, you are amazing! (and you're right, I think I enjoyed it more than DS1, although, tonight, he asked to go back again tomorrow!)

I haven't done any housework for ages (well just the minimum amount) we were out all weekend, and I usually do a big clean while DS1 is at pre-school, but he hasn't been for 2 weeks coz of the holidays, so next week I'll get my hands dirty again!

Sam has a tommy tippee cup too, he's only just getting the hang of it really, he has 3-4 bottles a day, and doesn't seem de-hydrated, but like Ponto he's much more interested in DS1's sports cup, but thnk it's because it's more interesting than his boring water!

Right, DH is away tonight so I;m off to make myself a cuppa to take to bed with me, I can stretch out and read my book with all his pillows propping me up

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 15/04/2009 22:36

Jodie - sell the P&T then, you can also get a good second hand Luna for £70-80 on ebay, they do a lovely blue colour I prefer the Lunamix it is so light after the P&T which is a great double but a PIA as a single. With the Lunamix you can mix and match the hoods the green is very nice. Sell your P&T buy a Luna and make a profit
I used to use a wrist strap for DD1 too and am looking at buggy boards

Housework - whats that I am always saying I need to do some, I did hoover under everything in the living/dining room on Friday won't tell you how much dust their was, the computer desk was

pigleychez · 15/04/2009 22:49

Hello,

Thanks guys... not amazing, just impatient and want it done asap!

Minipink- I caught the end of the programme.I hope they repeat it at some point. I was going to Sky + it but its not going to be installed till sat

SK- At least you have what you want now. I must admit a few months after buying my expensive travel system thingy i saw another i really liked. DH's raised eyebrows nearly touched the ceiling when I was examining it in the shop!.
However saying that im wondering how much longer Abigail will fit in it as her feet are almost over the end.

I saw Disneys status too. If your lurking Disney then keep well and happy

Cass- Looks like you all had a fab time

Had a BBq today and christened the new garden! Spent most of today re grouting the kitchen tiles. Its made such a difference and brightens the tiles no end! Currently painting the walls too to get rid of the hideous bright green it was... will look so much better when its done.

New carpets being fitted tomorrow morning. house is a tip again as all furniture is piled up in the dining room as the 3 bedrooms need clearing. Feels like we are moving again! Mattress on the floor for us tonight.
Cant believe we have been in a week now.. its gone so quickly! Thnkfully by the weekend we should be pretty much finally sorted
Ill post some pics of Abigails room once the carpets are in and the new furniture is up

Sk- Abigail is my hoover now. Shes fab at finding and picking up even the tiniest fleck of dust!

JODIEwantsanewname · 16/04/2009 08:59

SK Stop tempting me! I don't think I'd get much for my P&T as it's 'well worn' It got torn twice (one on foam on handles and one on fabric on frame) when in transit once when we took it to Spain, so not sure how much we'd get for it, however, we do have the double seat and the storm cover and everything, so you never know!!! If I was to get another buggy it would be a three wheeler.

Pigley I don't know how you find the time for all of this!

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 16/04/2009 09:09

Jodie - you never know, you can get new foam covers for the handles and even with the tear I reckon you could get £180-200 for it. My Luna is a 3 wheeler not got air tyres though but still lovely and light to push and much easier to fold and unfold than the P&T.

Good night last night, B went down at 8pm and didn't get up until 2am, then 3am then 6am then up for day at 8am. Probably because she didn't have a nap all day yesterday despite my best efforts.

JODIEwantsanewname · 16/04/2009 09:55

SK What car do you have? I have a fiesta, do you think the Luna mix would fit in the boot? I have to take one of the wheels of the P&T....... I also have a Pliko Pramette travel system that I could sell to fund it, once Sam comes out of the car seat....

OP posts:
Momma23 · 16/04/2009 10:05

Morning all

This talk on buggies has me going!! DP says no more but i shall work my magic

Pigley
DD3 is the same on the hoover front! what she can find amazes me. DD2 was like that to. Hope the new carpe is fab and you get all sorted soon. How is your back doing?

Right have to do some work, If i can hoover and sort one press i will be happy
Also going shopping later this evening! havent gone shopping for myself in ages so really looking forward to that.. Need new trainers sooo badly, I live in mine around the house (you could'nt even wear them in public) and have so many food stains and holes its not funny... DP even suggested i buy myself a new pair.
Right DD1 & 2 need to get dressed c you later..

sweetkitty · 16/04/2009 10:49

Jodie - Yes I think Luna mix would fit in a Fiesta. We have a CMAX now (2 DC) so huge boot. I can take measurements for you or go on the M&P website. I used to have a Clio and have got a Grace travek system, M&P Twin Aria, Maclaren XT and a Graco tandem in at one time (not all at the same time lol).

Another buggy that gets great reviews is the Baby Jogger City Mini, apparently folds really small. Failing that an XT would be fab for you too.

sweetkitty · 16/04/2009 10:50

oops I meant I have 3 DCs

Poledra · 16/04/2009 10:51

God I'm knackered! Helluva a thunderstorm night before last, I spent at least an hour lying awake thinking 'That one will wake them up' as the thunder banged and rolled overhead. Nope, not a peep out of the children but a lost hour of sleep for me. Then we had another storm last night at about midnight which did wake up Orlaith and she was ready to play then - till 2am . At least the older 2 slept through it all. They're at the childminder today, so just me and O (who is happily snoozing in her pram outside, catching up on her beauty sleep ). Got so much to do including my most hated job, cleaning the bathroom.

All you buggy tarts, how can I persuade DH that our old Cosatto umbrella buggy needs to be replaced with a more trendy fold-up? He's more of the opinion that as we won't be having any more children, let's make it last then chuck it. But it's looking all tired and it doesn't fold nearly as small as the newer ones do.....

Disney, I'm sorry if you've deregistered but I hope you enjoy your time with your family, and love to Sam.

Right off to tackle the housework

Poledra · 16/04/2009 10:53

Only a CMax, SK? we felt the need for a Galaxy when O was born

sweetkitty · 16/04/2009 11:06

Poledra - we just about squeeze in the CMAX I was too scared of a Galaxy but I think in a few years it will be needed

DP just rolls his eyes when I talk about prams, it's not him that is pushing it that's what I say and we have at least another 2 years of pram pushing to go.

Momma23 · 16/04/2009 12:42

I feel like i need a mini bus agree SK def 2 yrs left in the pushing buggy business. I have a buggy board and i must dig it out and re use it. It was great when i had it with DD1 and 2.

HAving a very bad chocolate feast for myself!!! DDs eggs were turned into crispie buns so thats gone.. The only way out is to eat all i have left and dont buy any more

L is going her best to crawl, just ends up on her belly and thats it.. poor love

TheRedSalamander · 16/04/2009 13:04

Lol Momma at your chocolatefest, I am wearing my halo at the mo because of the trying to lose weight thing (although it does occasionally slip, especially when Toby's (ds1) mini creme eggs are in sight [wink)]

Louis has got an ear infection poor little chap. Thought it was his teeth coming through to begin with but every time he knocks his left ear he wails. Took him to dr earlier and he was given antib's, so hopefully should be on the mend soon.

Toby with my mum today, she retired a few weeks ago and has offered to have both boys a day each per week- so good of her. Esp as I am back to work in about 6 weeks - 4 days to start off with, will try and change it when T starts school in sept. Anyone else going back to work about the same time?
