sweetkitty · 29/06/2009 21:15

Evening still here still reading

Still very tired, trying to use the boob less and less to settle Bethany and try to get her to self settle in preparation for her going into her own room in 2 weeks.

She is now doing the holding on with own hand thing so funny how they do more and more before the big event when they "let go" funny little things that they are

Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the heat

pigleychez · 29/06/2009 21:43

evening all,

Phew what a scorcher today has been!
We had a little play in the paddling pool this morning then spent the rest of the day hiding inside.
Bought Abigail a kids Gazebo so we should aleast get abit more shade in the garden now.

Bebe- Glad the Curry went down well
I quite liked the flapjacks but DH wasnt so keen. Couldnt quite get his head around a savoury flapjack!
I didnt have any Worchester sauce so didnt add that so may make them again as they did lack that little kick.

Disney- Sounds like you all had a good time at the BBQ

SK- Hope things are going ok with B's sleeping.
Amazing to see them gaining more and more confidence isnt it.

After Abigail's first little step the other day, yesterday there was no stopping her!
Continuely doing the odd one or two steps and walking between DH and I. Looking so grown up You can see her eyeing things up and the distance now before deciding if she should try walking or not.
Today was funny too.. She was walking holding onto my hands and headed for the stairs. Thought id just see what she did and she walked up the stairs, properly stepping up. I was only loosely holding her hands and not helping in the slightest! Very ambitous!

disneystar1 · 29/06/2009 23:14

hows bethany doing in the night now ? are you getting anymore sleep at all, plus its so hot its hard for them to get comfy isnt it.

well done abigail and bethany there certainly curious little girls and want some more independane

i cant ever imagine samuel doing that

JODIEwantsanewname · 30/06/2009 10:46

Morning all, am in awe of all our little walkers, Sam walked accross our living room (about 7 steps) over the weekend! Just let go of the sofa to chase Oliver! And this morning he was in the bathroom and he could see Oli and was shouting 'o-ver, o-ver' then when Oli started coming he let go of my hands and 'ran' into Olivers arms for a great big cuddle!!! I can't get over the fact he's 1 on Saturday, he's much more of a baby than Oli was as that age, even though he can do more (Oli didn't crawl until 11 months, or walk until 15 months, and didn't really say much either!)

I'll catch up later, but just wanted to say hello and hope everyone os OK (Bebe, hows your cat?)

bebejones · 30/06/2009 21:10

Does anyone else still have the memory of a goldfish?! I swear I have never got back my pre PG brain capacity!!! I have forgotton to tax my car!! I remembered on Friday too late to do it online & be sure of getting it so DH wrote a cheque to go to Post Office, but I have lost insurance cert so had to get a new one sent out which arrived Sat. With all the hassle of the cat going back to the vets I completely forgot & only remembered an hour ago! (It ran out today) Guess where I am going first thing?!!? It's not just that though, I regularly loose my car keys & purse. So much so it has become a running joke that whenever we are leaving the house I ask 'Where are my keys?' Please tell me it will return eventually I was never this sccatty before, was I? See can't even remember that!!!

Jodie - cat is on the mend, we hope!! He has bitten his foot quite badly little monster but vets think it will heal ok, thanks for asking!

Phoebe has decided that the funniest game of all is to pull the cushions off the sofa. Posted video on facebook, but it sounds like she is crying...she isn't. She keeps walloping her head on the floor and just killing herself laughing, must be made of sterner stuff than me, she kept it up this evening for a good 45mins & must have hit her head about 20times!!! Bad mummy, no tears though, just giggling!

Put her to bed with a fan on this evening, her room is just so hot. She is in just a nappy & knickers (she can undo a nappy in about 5 seconds flat given half the chance!) just hope she gets some sleep!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2009 08:57

Morning ladies, these little babes never cease to amaze me, B has gone from dragging herself about commando style to crawling proper, to pulling herself up and cruising to standing by herself for about 10 seconds in about 2 weeks .

Rough night last night, put her to bed at 8pm as normal, she woke at 9pm, then at 11 then 12 and stayed awake until 2am, I am shattered, I think it's the heat and she still has a bit of a cough and a snotty nose.

bebe - I am know known for being so forgetful, DP is always laughing at me, my brain is complete mush. Glad cat is on the mend, mine drive me insane most of the time but wouldn't be without them, we have had the oldest two 12 years now, forgot to ask I hope you were insured? We aren't as mine are housecats but Otis has kidney stone problems and cost us £500 once, ouch!

Jodie - Sam sounds so gorgeous, I know ONE where has it gone. DD1 was 12 1/2 months when she could walk across the room, DD2 11 1/2 months so Bethany isn't going to beat DD2. I think walking is genetic in that it is programmed and they will walk when they are ready to, some walk early some later. DD1 has been trying to teach B, Abbie but no luck yet.

disney - how are you and Samuel today?

pigley - well done Abigail too she's certainly a smart little lady!

Right must go get dressed no nursery today so we are taking it easy, it's supposed to rain this afternoon

Poledra · 01/07/2009 11:05

Morning all. How are you doing? I think we might all finally be on the mend. Orlaith had a real dose of the chickem pox, poor love - she was absolutely covered in them. For your future reference, Vaseline on soppy botties is great - she was crying every time she weed till the GP told me to Vaseline her spots at every change, as it creates a barrier to keep the urine off the spots. She no longer looks like she'll scare small chldren but I thik she's going to get a mark at the side of her nose . She had a big spot there (between the bridge of her nose and her eye) and she's knocked the scab off rubbing her eyes when she's tired. Never mind, if that's the worst of my worries, it's not bad. Plumber did manage to fix the leak, and my chest infection has cleared up, so things are definitely rosier than last weel. And I've booked a week's holiday for us at the beach in August, so that's something to look forward to when I go back to work.

Can't believe all these babies walking! O is crawling all over the place, and does cruise round the coffee table etc, but doesn't really stand without support. She will keep trying to use the ironing board to pull herself up, which frightens me, as I can just see the iron falling onto her - guess I'll need to iron at night! It's too hot here to do ironing anyway.

CilC, how nice to see you - gald to hear that rafferty's doing well. Love the expression 'lazy little buddha' - made me laugh!

bebe - sorry, but I still lose my keys all the time. Just my keys mind, nothing else.

Better go get some stuff done while O naps - she couldn't get to sleep last night (too hot) so she was up till 11.30pm . Hopefully, I'll get time to myself today while she catches up.

Poledra · 01/07/2009 11:07

spotty botties, not soppy botties!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2009 11:46

Glad she is on the mend Poledra chicken pox sucks, I have two marks on my face and I am still gorgeous and DD1 has a few scars too, and you on the mend too

bebejones · 01/07/2009 12:26

SK - cat was not insured....DH to blame, said it was silly! HA, not laughing now!!! Luckily my mum helped out, probably because she saw how hysterical I was about him being hurt!! We couldn't have afforded it without her so am so so so grateful! Bill is about £700 so far!!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2009 13:57

oh no poor you, that's a painful bill, my cat must have cost us about £1500 over the years but I added it up and insurance x 3 for all those year would have been more, makes me feel better

pigleychez · 01/07/2009 16:59

Jodie- How lovely that your boys love each other so much Sam obviously looks up to his Big Bro!

Bebe- Love the cushion game video

SK- With you on the bad night here too

Poledra- Fingers cossed you are all coming out of your illnesses now and into a long period of Good health!

Still scorching here!
Yesterday at Baby club we had Cheeky Monkey tea party with Animal fancy dress. Great fun and I dressed Abigail up like a frog. She looked so funny! Didnt win a prize though ... they were saved for the organisers Friends kids!!

Today A friend a her LO the same age went to the farm. First time the girls have been and they loved it!
Abigail enjoyed being nibbled on by a goat! They also have a little petting corner but Abigail was abit puzzled by them up close and didnt like the chicken flapping in her lap!
The farm also has the most amazing playground with tree houses, forts, sandpits, bouncing pillows, climbing frames etc. Can see us returning for many years!
Pics on FB

disneystar1 · 01/07/2009 22:32

poledra im so glad things are a bit better for you and that o is doing better, x

pigley she looked very cute indeed and yes i often wonder if those type of comps are a bit rigged, we go to the farm a lot small children and animals are a wonder to see i think.

had a bit of a down day no reason really but one where i kept looking at samuel and tears just running down my cheeks, he looks at me then and i have to laugh and say silly mommy
but i recieved a letter from the hospital and thought it was for his big operation, i know he needs it and without he will die, but the waiting game is quite tough too..

had my ecg today and bloods done and off to see cardilogist friday apparantly il be there all morning for another ecg, treadmills tests etc..... cant wait

then to top it off tonight i had the phone ringing 3 times no one there

then another 5 times same thing

next time a disgusting pervert saying foul things i wont say on here i was just shocked didnt know what to do, i put the phone down he rang 3 more times.....what do i do especially as the boys answer the phone....he even knew my dh name though as that how i answered him...quite scary really what he knew...should i ring the police?

Poledra · 02/07/2009 10:04

Disney, yes ring the police, and also ring BT - they can block a number for you so that the person cannot get through (I had to do it once with a fax machine that kept ringing me ). Hopefully if you can give them a rough ide pof the time the person called, they'll be able to identify the number.

bebejones · 02/07/2009 12:38

Disney - def ring police. That's way too creepy. Hope ur ok hun xxx

Had a really good time at baby group this morning sat outside chatting with my new friend & another lady while the babies played and munched biscuits! We (me & me new chum) are taking babies to a swim class 2moro! Really looking forward to it!

On a more subdued note a very good friend is seeing her hospital specialist today for a treatment plan. She is only 20 & has recently been diagnosed with PCOS & Endometriosis (sp?) very unlikely she will have children & she so deserves to be a mummy it's very sad. Day she found that out her younger sister told her she was pregnant!! (Very very unplanned!!) It's so devastating feel so awful for her she is the nicest person & is being so brave despite the pain. Trying to stay positive for her but it makes me really upset to think about it, it is so unfair!

Anyway, dragged you down enough! Am off to enjoy the quiet while P naps!!

disneystar1 · 02/07/2009 16:45

yes bebe im ok was a bit shaken last night though

life is terribly unfair bebe i was given my gift in samuel and then the possibilty he may be taken away is heart breaking, but does make you fight all the more harder, your poor friend, all the people that should be mummies sadly arnt and when you think of all the unloved unwanted babies in the world just makes it sadder and id take them all if i could....well id share, but i know what you mean bebe, also its lovely to hear you sounding so "upbeat" have a good time swimming with the babies.

CilC · 02/07/2009 17:03

Disney how awful! Some people...won't go there!
Hi Poledra, sorry to hear Orlaith has not been well. Yes has been a while, just got so busy. Actually am still very busy but I suppose as they are now turning one it makes you nostalgic.
Ok everyone on face book what is this bejewelled blitzo thing? Always up for a new addiction. Getting sick of farmtown.

I have pcos and endometriosis (which I talked about many moons ago on this thread)and have had 2 beautiful babes. A very good friend also has incredibly severe endometriosis (on bladder, bowel also) and via IVF has had 3 LO. Your friend is young, all is not lost. Tell her she must get seen by a good specialist. I go privately - it is worth it to see the same person whi has tracked me. She will need to take medication (hormone balancing stuff) but tell her not to give up. There is also a fab book you can get on called PCOS and website etc. Let me know if you want the details for her.

Raff's birthday party this Sunday and I am cooking up a storm and once again going totally over the top. Did it for Tab also and while I realise they don't remember Tab loves looking at the photos. Plus I think it is a celebration for us mums who have made it! That is why there will be lots of bubbles.

Best be off, have to say I am loving the warm weather. About to pretend we are going to the beach (blow up pool) for a bbq.

bebejones · 02/07/2009 20:59

CilC - thanks for that I will let her know, TBH I think her biggest problem is the Endo. Still waiting to hear from her how the specialist went. They have messed her about for 2 years now and she has been in agony, makes me really mad for her they have been quite ridiculous! But hey ho, we would miss the NHS if we didn't have them!! Bejeweled blitz is fab, highly addictive & very frustrating. Think Tetris but more aggrevating!

minipinkscottish · 03/07/2009 09:37

Disney....how awful for you...what a creep!!
bebe for your friend but she should remain positive and never give up because it's amazing what can happen. I have a friend who had PCOS and then she was diagnosed with a malignant tumour on one ovary and had to have it removed. Docs wanted her to have hysterectomy but she was longing for a baby and persuaded them to wait. She was told it was unlikely she would conceive naturally so she had 2 lots of IVF treatment but it was unsuccessful She had really gone through the mill and her and her husband decided to call it a day and move on with their lives....maybe adopt later they thought...the docs arranged her hysterectomy for later that year and that was that....5 months later...only 2 weeks before her surgery she felt a lump in her tummy and panicked thinking she had another tumour. She called her specialist and they arranged a scan.........you've guessed haven't you.......yes there on the screen...no tumour but a very healthy baby of 15 weeks gestation......
she gave birth to a healthy baby girl by cs and then immediately had hysterectomy....she is a wonderful mum and delighted to have her little miracle.....so you see never give up

Abbie doing great....into everything. Not enjoying it being so hot though.

Can't wait for tennis today ...come on Andy Murray!!!!

sweetkitty · 03/07/2009 17:28

yey cooler today Bethany does have a nasty ear infection, she just hasn't shaken this cough/cold/croup thing and has had a snotty nose for about 6 weeks now. This morning she had gunk on her vest from her ear so took her to GP (had to wait over 35 minutes with 3 under 5 older two running riot) anyway she got antibiotics and she took a swab to see what it is and I have to go back on Wednesday so she can check her ear drum to see if it's not burst. I feel like a rubbish Mummy as I thought she was just crabbit and not sleeping due to the weather, she must be in pain wee soul she's been scratching her ears too today. Have given her some Ibuprofen which is good for pain and swelling.

bebejones · 03/07/2009 19:38

SK - poor B, don't feel like a bad mummy. P had an ear infection & ruptured ear drum when she was about 8 weeks old. She had had a cold for 2 weeks & I went away with my mum and she screamed the whole time we were there, day and night. I had no idea until I saw the gunk. Don't feel bad, the antibiotics will sort her out poor little thing!!

Had a really nice day, went to a swim class with P and she LOVED it! Def gonna make an effort to take her swimming more often! This evening has been pretty crap so far. DH has been royally stabbed in the back by people he works with who he thought were his friends. Has caused a massive argument & now him and his dad aren't speaking. Getting so sick of this crap that he deals with on a daily basis it's just not fair on him anymore! We were supposed to be going to visit SIL 2moro but we can't even afford petrol to get there! DH hasn't been paid AGAIN! Also our very ignorant new neighbours have yet again got home from work and lit a bonfire of garden rubbish (3rd time this week) and the smoke just billows in through the nursery window! It's just so rude IMO when people are obviously wanting to have windows open in this heat. Didn't think it was allowed in residential areas?!? Poor P will be boiling again tonight!

Sorry to rant, things just getting on top of me! Must try and focus on the lovely morning I had!!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 04/07/2009 07:54

Hello everyone, happy birthday all the other babies who've already had theirs! I've not been able to keep up with the thread as I'm back at work now and life is just toooo hectic, but I think of you all often and hope that everyone is doing well.

It was Louis' birthday yesterday, had a little picnic at a local beauty spot and it was a lovely low key affair. We're having a family gathering tomorrow which is his "real" party.

Got a bit wistful last night thinking about his delivery, how much he's grown and how little sleep I'm still getting! (sympathies SK on the boob/sleep activities in your house, think it was your post I saw saying you were trying to settle her without the boob sometimes now. L is still going strong but only during the night, he doesn't want milk in any shape or form in the daytime but quite frequently during the dark hours. Little bugger!)

Off on our hols in a fortnight, hmm total of 8 hours in a car with 1 year old and 4 year old just to get there. Did I really say holiday

No walking here yet, cruising well though and getting more confident about letting go to balance/pick something up. No teeth either, or hair! Pretty standard for our family, neither dh nor I had more than a fuzz of hair apparently til we were 3 and 2 respectively, ds1 was 3 when he needed his first hair cut (still only ever had it done twice since, but then I do like the surfer dude look on him cos he's blond and curly)

Went away last weekend to a Haven park, just me a friend and our children. Had a brilliant time, collecting vouchers now from the mail to get cheap holidays there! Never thought I'd enjoy a caravan park but it was absolutley fantastic. Good value too.

Right L is grizzling for a sleep so will sign off. Love to all.

mama2leah · 04/07/2009 10:02

hiya guys...

happy bday to all the lo's...

i am sooooooooooo getting drained in this heat, think i have got spd as well, extremely painful!
