Hi all, have been very busy so have only been reading with no time to post. Also Bryony has been getting up at 5.30 so I have been exhausted, as I find it hard to get to bed before midnight most nights. I don't even know what I am spending all my time doing - the house is a tip, there is a massive pile of ironing and I've got to prepare for my annual appraisal for work but never seem to get round to it. Pigley, I need some of your energy!
Sounds like a lot of the babies are at the same stage with the standing without holding on and climbing stairs. Bryony was out in the garden the other day and managed to climb up onto the patio and then into the house, she was most pleased with herself! I was not happy as it means that there is no safe place to leave her in the garden, she is so speedy that by the time I go in to get the washing out of the machine she will be perched at the top of some scary looking steps.
Disney, I hope your ds's finger is ok, it sounds really nasty for him. Glad Sam had a happy day today, he sounds a real character.
Pigley, Bryony has a breastfeed when she wakes, cereal at 8, raisins or a biscuit mid-morning, a Dairylea sandwich and some fruit puree at 12.30, breastfeed and snack mid-afternoon, tea at 5.30 (usually pasta and sauce followed by a yogurt), breastfeed at 7 before bed. I have no idea how much she's taking at each feed, but she has dairy at nearly every meal too so she must be getting plenty of calcium. Are you wanting to cut down the amount of milk Abigail has to encourage her to eat more? What happens if you give her a smaller bottle of milk, does she cry for more?
Bebe, well done on braving baby group, I think you should have a go at swimming too. I'm sure Phoebe will love it, and it will help her to be confident in the water if she starts now. Really, don't worry about your wobbly bits, I always take comfort in the fact that I must look better now than I did when I was 9 months pregnant and was bulging out of my vast maternity swimming costume!
Shortshafe, I know what you mean about the constant feeding of children, I spend hours in the kitchen (and I'm not making gourmet meals here, even just making pasta and pesto or cheese sandwiches takes me ages!)
Poledra, I know what you mean about extreme bfeeding. I decided to get into the bath with Bryony yesterday evening as I'd had a long day and I was tired. She was delighted to see naked boobies though and clambered up me to attach herself like a little limpet!
Do any of you know whether it would be feasible to continue bfing when separated from your baby for a week? I'm going to my brother's wedding in Bali in September, leaving the dcs with dh. Bryony will be 14 months old and I'd assumed I would have stopped feeding her by then but now I'm thinking I might not have. Do you think that if I took a pump with me and pumped a bit each day to keep the supply up, that she would start feeding again when I got back?
Just realised this is a massive post. Must go to bed in case of another early start tomorrow.
