Thank you Pigley! Will be trying that out! DH doesn't like fish unless in finger form!! So thats one for me and P. Am going to try out a AK tuna pasta recipe this week, also going to try some chicken liver as HV has made me paranoid about iron levels & apparently I loved pureed liver as a baby!!

DH has gone out for a few hours with his dad so have the house and PC to myself (P is asleep) it feels very weird. He has been home now for weeks and weeks & is driving me potty!

Am going to make the most of my time by trying to top my bejewelled score on FB....and eating a double choc chip muffin! If only it wasn't raining I would go do garden stuff!!

disneystar1 · 27/05/2009 15:58

JODIEwantsanewname · 27/05/2009 19:52

Just thought I;d pop in and say hello properly now boys are in bed (I might join them in a bit, I'm knackered!) Sam's feeling better now, he actually went all night last night shame Oliver woke at 5.30, I'm sure they are in cahoots!

I'm off camping on Friday and the forecast looks glorious (going near Glastonbury/Shepton Mallet) and I;m getting excited now!

Hope you are all OK, disney how's Sam tonight? Pigley how are Abigail's blisters?

OP posts:
pigleychez · 27/05/2009 20:45

Hello,

Jodie- Abigail's blisters are going now. Scabbing over which looks just delightful! Thankfully shes pretty much back to her happy usual self which is good as its her Cousins 1st birthday party on Sat
The weathers looking fab too which is a bonus. You have choosen a good weekend to go camping Glad Sams better too.

Had my new fridge freezer delivered today.. waiting for the new dishwasher on Monday now

Got the of my life today!! Went into the lounge only to have a starling fly past my head! Stupid bird had come down the chimney!(open fire) I very quickly scopped Abigail up and shut the doors on it. Stood in the hall, heart racing. Just then my neighbour came round as she had seen the bird going crazy at the window. Thankfully she doesnt mind birds so got it out the window for me I hate birds! Cant stand them flapping near me! Definately a guard going up the chimney now!

Just been back to Asda to return a top I bought Abigail. Why is it sizes vary soooo much in shops. Tesco's outfit I bought 6-9 and the trousers fall down on her!!

disneystar1 · 27/05/2009 22:38

sorry pigley dont mean to laugh but i can imagine what you were like with that little bird flapping around.....

jodie samuels still poorly here poor little guy gets a run of bad luck lately.

have a lovely time camping sounds great actually . weve got to decorate our bedroom this weekend as the carpets are fitted next week but we may go camping the following weekend.
thanks for asking after my little man. x

disneystar1 · 28/05/2009 14:43

just been to a special needs family day it was very good samuel was with his respite carer for half an hour i had a very unusual cup of tea alone.
little monkey slept for 15 mins now he will not nap so taking them to the park in the hope he drops of, if he doesnt im in for a totally rubbish night
dh will be late again as his nasty boss is really taking the p now with his hours.
e is a class 1 driver and when he gets back to load which takes an hour she tells him to load the next 5
he was there 14 hours monday and he rang me saying this
i told him to tell her hes a drver not a warehouse man.....and walk out and he did.
shes kept him behind 3 extra hours every night now....cant win
anyway off for a walk i dont really have the energy to do but is essential if i want to sleep tonight...

bebejones · 28/05/2009 20:49

Well I tried to be all brave today and went to the baby group near my house (is about a 2min walk feel a bit bad about not going before tbh), anyway got there & it wasn't on because its half term!!! Typical, Will have to build myself up to it all over again next week! And yes I am a cowardy cowardy custard!!

Disney - sounds like you had a nice day xx

Must go try (and probably fail) at beating my pathetic bejewelled score!

sweetkitty · 28/05/2009 22:47

Evening all pc hasn't been working for 2 whole day, boy have I missed it.

Was up loads last night DD2 was sick then B was up about 6 times really unsettled.

How can you get over 100,000 on Bejewelled??? I got 20,000 and thought I was doing great

pigely - glad Abigail is on the mend now

Anyway musy dash take care xx

pigleychez · 29/05/2009 22:23

Evening all.

Sk- Glad to see you back

Bebe- Typical about the babygroup! Def go Next week

Hugely busy day today. During Abigails naps ive been painting the garden fences. Also spent lots of time playing with Abigail in the lovely sunshine
Lots of washing out and dried too in the sun- The basket is empty!!

This evening ive been making cakes. Made 2 sponge cakes using different recipes ready to make Abigails birthday cake. Found a really yummy light sponge recipe and have made a number one shape from the cakes.
I now feel more confident that Abigails birthday cake will resemble a proper cake! Just need to master the decorating now!

Also straightened my hair this eveing (takes yonks cause its sooo long!) First time ive done it for months and months so feel all glammed up! No idea why... I'm not going anywhere!

Oh yeah!! I won a competition today! The tip I added to MN has won me a baby monitor Not that I really need one but its worth £70 so will sell it on

minipinkscottish · 30/05/2009 09:20

Morning everyone!! What a beautiful day....hope the sunshine makes everyone feel good and here's hoping you all have a lovely weekend

We're going off to local country park today...should be good
Been trying to organise a party for Abbie's 1st birthday...can't believe she'll be one in 2 weeks time,,,and she's walking round the furniture now

Have a good one folks

disneystar1 · 30/05/2009 15:20

mini 1 in 2 weeks doesnt seem possible does it.
samuel still poorly here very floppy and you can just see how ill he is
hes got no muscle tone for instance if he lies on the floor and you try to pull his hands upwards to a sitting position hes still floppy like a newborn, luckily he wears a kind of back brace and reclining chairs.

he snuggles into my neck and just lies there for ages its like he knows theres something wrong , he doesnt even stand if i hold him up his legs just buckle underneath him.
its not nice to see i just wish this operation would happen now im getting quite worried samuels going to die before (irational maybe) but knowing your baby is terminal and only this operation can either save him or give him longer is a terrifying prospect.
and thers nothing i can do
i would gladly trade my old 41 years and let him live .....if only it were that easy.

mini yes it is a lovely day .....
i guess im a bit sad today
well to be honest i feel down inside everyday its just on the outside im happy go lucky and quite often i look at sam and run in the bathroom and break down.
dh knows and feels the same but hes different keeps it all in.
he says its ok its going to be ok whatever happens...i feel like screaming at him
ffs ....its not ok bloody do something anything make him well and please dont let him die. but i dont i know he feels the same.

sorry for saying this all my thoughts but i dont know what to do,
hes sleeping now he sleeps a lot usually 5 hours a day
ive just bought him a ball pit with 200 balls he cant sit so he can lie in there and play he will love it...
im going to make a cup of tea and wake him up
feed him and go to the park...

minipinkscottish · 30/05/2009 22:45

Oh disney sorry you are feeling so low...it must be awful to be going through all that you are...I am amazed by how strong you are...I'm sure I would have cracked up long before now! Keep doing what you're doing...being strong and getting out and about when you can....I know these good vibes will be helping Samuel even though he can't tell you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
love to you and your lovely boy xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Poledra · 30/05/2009 23:52

Oh disney I'm sorry you feel so down but please don't apologise for getting it all out here - we're all here to listen to you.

My mother always says that all a baby really needs is to be warm, fed and loved, and the most important of these is to be loved. Sam knows he is loved - that is the best thing you can give him.

disneystar1 · 31/05/2009 13:17

hi all

still feel like crap here ive locked myself in my bedroom its all falling apart now, in one way i want to run away from them all and then i feel so damn guilty for feeling this.i just shouted at my 8 yr old ok he was being naughty buti never shout at them and im finding it harder to act normally and be mommy
samuel is asleep in his crib right beside me i have to turn him over onto his side from time to time as he cant turn himself now and he can only lie on his back he gets so frustrated
when he smiles and laughs it makes me cry and sad
its the first time ive cried like this since we were told im not brave anymore and i cant find comfort anywhere, theres no where to turn and im so lost
if i lose him i find myself asking wheres he gonna be and if he cries im not going to be there and i have to be there
ok im a bit more composed now i just cant cry no more......
my counselor told me to write a journal or say what im thinking and it does help
i dont want to upset you guys though as you read this so please be honest and say if youd rather i didnt write it here.
hes peaceful now and breathing easier my dh has left me a cup of tea outside the door,
poledra i love him thats for sure...
thats one thing i can do
i need to be me and just mom for my other boys too
ok its a new time its the afternoon and im more composed to face the day again,
im going down with a smile firstly to apologise to my son for snapping and have a cuddle
thank you all of you you have no idea how much your words help me honestly you dont.
its a hot hot day here and im of to fill the paddling pool im in the middle of cooking sunday lunch and the chicken is prob cremated by now
x

disneystar1 · 31/05/2009 15:41

its much better now

samuel still asleep ive turned him twice or gets sore patches....
dinners nearly ready
boys happily playing in the sand pit turned into a water pit theyve been filling up a little plastic bottle from the garden tap and putting it into the pit.....for hours....
the last post was me losing control and letting my emotions get the better of me
thats not a good idea....
i have to live one day at a time literaly....
just think about today
hope everyones having a lovely time in the sun

minipinkscottish · 31/05/2009 21:22

Disney don't feel bad about letting out your emotions on here.....you have to let it out and and I for one am happy to be here to "listen" (read). We are all with you....you are strong even though you don't think so xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

disneystar1 · 31/05/2009 22:02

thank you mini....x

well we had another drama here today
we finished dinner and all was well
were just about to go to the lounge together and my 8yr old ds went throught the door caught his finger tip in the door pulled his hand to try to free it and his hand came away and his finger was in the door
omg the blood he nearly fainted i felt sick it was disgusting....
called paramedic who said put the finger back on and hold it there with a clean towel...i went with them and dh followed with the boys
i was in hospital with him and swapped over with dh a little while ago ds is happy daddy is there.
he has had is emla cream on ready to go to theatre
whos dh is a A+ E guy here????

i have never ever seen that and on your own child well it was something i dont want to see again...bless him he was so so brave all his brothers were crying.
anyone else had a fun packed day??

i prefer them a little quieter for sure

pigleychez · 31/05/2009 22:54

Disney- Your boys do keep you on your toes! Hope his finger is ok.
I completely agree with Mini... Feel free to unload on here It must be such a loud to take in and such a worry. You are such a strong person

mini- 2 weeks wow!! Im stressing about Abigails already and thats not till the end of July!
Had a practice run of Abigail's cake. Tastes yummy

Sat was my nieces 1st birthday. Had a nice time and they had glorious weather for her party!

Been busy in the garden today, painting fences and planting. Also ordered new furniture for the decking. Its a plastic rattan sofa and arm chair set, cant wait for it to come.this

Need to finish more fence panels tomorrow whilst waiting in for the new dishwasher to be delivered.

Also cut Abigails hair for the first time. She now has a pretty bob. It looks much tidier as the sides of her hair were growing much quicker than the back. Its now more even and should grow better together.

disneystar1 · 01/06/2009 09:27

pigley we were looking at the same style rattan furniture but it was a huge oval table and rounded bench chairs for our decking.
yes they do keep me on my toes.....
always into scrapes and cut knees and elbows plasters everywhere...just wait you have the joys to come
samuels in a grumpy old mood today keeps shouting mamamama but hes kinda saying it not calling me whith a moany voice guess hes having an off day..
dh is having the day of today as the new bedroom carpet is being fitted yayyy 7 mths ive been sort of without a bedroom since the flood i can after today finally get my wardrobes.
just had my bran flakes and banana dh scoffing bacon sarnies....samuel loves his bread with the fat and sauce on....just tiny bits though .
another glorious day here and im going to garden as i find it relaxing

MinnieMummy · 01/06/2009 17:06

Phewwww it's another scorcher here today.. am hiding inside as I wilt a bit in this kind of heat!

First day back at work today and it turns out our restructure is worse than we all thought, 7 posts going down to 3 and only 1 in my area so if I were to apply I'd be competing against 4 of my colleagues who are all more qualified than me. All very horrible, thought I was feeling ok and then the childminder texted me to say P has been very upset and unsettled today and wouldn't stop crying, which set me off too, so I went home early and picked her up! Of course she was fine within a few seconds of me getting there, think we have to re-acclimatise her to the CM (had a week off last week for half term).

Am feeling bad for our clients (they are mostly teenage years) too as the changes will affect them (restrictions on who can use our service, for how long etc.). On a positive note my freelance work is picking up...

Disney you can't be expected to keep all your feelings in all the time. I think a journal sounds like a good idea - maybe you could also/instead make some kind of 'family book' and put in loads of pics of all your boys, and they could all help, and it would be a lovely keepsake for all your family to look at.

sweetkitty · 01/06/2009 17:30

hi all am reading but not posting that much, PC has been a right PIA recently but think it is sorted now.

Sorching here again today, mercury hitting 26 degrees, Scotland in June, keep thinking this will be our 5 days of Summer and it will rain all July and August now (AKA last year) we went down the coast yesterday to our hometown took the girls in the water and on the beach and had a great time, will post pics on FB when I get the chance as B was looking especially gorgeous

Well food has taken a nose dive here, she refuses everything off a spoon apart from yoghurt or dessert, she screams for chips off my plate (we call it the chip siren) any attempt to give her anything else well it gets thrown off the highchair, she will eat chips, carrots, toast, sandwiches, strawberries, bananas, apples, grapes and thats about it even chips will get thrown then she gets cross as she has nothing to eat talk about a complete madam.

She is pulling herself up on things then gets stuck and screams but wants to be "walking" holding your hands all the time (sore back time) oh and the temper if you shut a cupboard door on her or take something off her, she is shaping up to be wilder than DD2

disney - thinking of you and Samuel as always, sending you some stregth vibes, please keep posting if it helps you do not bring the thread down at all, I also use here for my musings and thoughts too

minniemummy - nightmare about your work, went through the same thing about 3 times at Sainsbos, hope it works out OK for you

pigley - furniture looks fab, am so you cut Abigails hair, B's is just starting to grow now blonde tufts, wonder if she will have long brown curly hair like DD1 or poker straight blonde like DD2, DD1 had no hair either and she has waist length hair now so she caught up.

minipink - is Abbie the first one of the regulars to reach one? I know isaidno's Poppy was early and Tjuice's Elodie

hello to everyone else better dash dinner almost ready, must summon the big two in from the garden, have made pasta tonight, maybe I should just cut out the middle man and throw it on the floor myself

bebejones · 01/06/2009 21:14

Evening all. Just a quick post, Phoebe has a chest infection, we ended up taking her to hospital to see the out of hours GP yesterday. She had screamed all morning & her breathing sounded like she had been smoking 40 a day! Was so scary she was actually choking on mucus and was rigid and shaking. You can actually feel her chest rattle when she breathes! Think the antibiotics are starting to kick in though as she has been a bit more herself today, but still not 'right' if that makes sense.

The hot weather is really not helping as she just won't settle to sleep at all. Her room is boiling (24.5 this evening) despite having all windows & doors open all day & blinds down. Trouble is it is a small room & gets the sun all afternoon. What are you guys putting LO's to sleep in in the heat? She won't settle unless she is in a sleeping bag, & we have a lightweight one but I'm sure that's still too much. Just don't want her to cook!

Must go as she is screaming again and if she gets worked up she can't breathe!

JODIEwantsanewname · 01/06/2009 21:47

Hi all, Just got back from a weekend away camping in sunny Somerset, and sunny it was too!!! Had such a fab time, we went to Longleat (loved it!!!!!) Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Bath (what an amazing city, I want to go back without the kids!) And basically had a ball!!! The campsite was brill and geared up for kids, so hundreds of children there, so Oli had loads of company and it didn't matter if any babies got up early (like mine!! )

bebe I put Sam in his sleeping bag, and either just a vest or even just a nappy. Hope P gets better soon

Pigley you really are the perfect housewife aren't you!! making cakes, cutting hair, painting rooms, taking amazing pictures, I don't let DH read any of your posts, he'll expect too much of me!!!! You go girl! (I'm only jealous)

minnie about your job, I've been out of work for 6 weeks now and it's pants. I;ve just signed up to Body Shop at Home, so hopefully that should make me some cash! [fingers crossed emoticon] and started a job in a local pub.

I can't believe we ae talking about 1st birthdays, 4 weeks until Sam's (4th July), I might have a party, I'm just waiting to see what the weather will be like, but I think I might just bite the bullet and start the invites.

I'm off now to watch BGT from Saturday night I know who wins, I just want to see the performances.
