Hey oooggs Glad loft extension is going well and Luke is being so good Speaking of it being past our bedtimes ..... night all! xx

oooggs · 08/04/2009 22:17

yes the carpets have now been ordered and I will have photographic evidence of our 'end of hell' soon

leakyR · 08/04/2009 22:58

Evening all

Back from NCT session #2. DH struggled with the first half - pain relief. Lots of medical talk and pics. Second half was about how to be a good birth partner which he was much more comfortable. Next session is 10-4 on Saturday but he says he feels good about it.

G has been hot, whingy and clingy all day . It seems to just be a cold, but we left him with a new babysitter tonight so I was worried he'd wake and go nuts. He didn't but he might later

Elkie - hope D is on the mend.

Oooggs- glad things are going well

Dippy - hope you get a peaceful night, tonight

Thanks for all the nice messages about my friend. I was in touch with her mam and some of the other girls yesterday and we were mostly positive. It was a sad day but she was so wonderful we all feel blessed to have had her in our lives.

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 08:08

Morning everyone
Glad you are nearing the end oooggs, I bet it feels like ages since things have been normal
Glad NCT classes were OK leaky - was your DH OK last time? Do you have a toilet and shower yet?
T was grumpy last night and woke up a couple of times before midnight so I thought we were in for a bad night, but then he slept fine until 6.30! Also didn't have his morning feed - is this the beginning of the end of bf? (for a month or so anyway!)

Oooggs - N has agreed to "play hairdressers" later! I'll let you know how it goes - she really, really needs a cut!

oooggs · 09/04/2009 12:06

Wow I have done it!!! at least 2" off it was well overdue - hope N 'plays' well Bramshott

elkiedee · 09/04/2009 12:39

Happy birthday Thomasine

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:22

Tonight I will be able to have a bath for the first time since Sunday! Very excited. The toilet was only out of action on Tuesday but I don't like to ask the fitter if I can use it too much while he's here. Also bathroom door been off all week so not exactly private.

SPB - dh had to have counselling during my last pregnancy and did very little in the way ante natal classes. He was with me throughout labour and birth but has not kept up his exposure to the stuff that he's phobic about in the meantime so has slid back a lot. He has been referred for more counselling here in Lancs but no appointment yet so we thought 5 NCT sessions would be a good investment.

Oooggs and Bramshott I have to say I'm relieved that G has only needed one haircut so far. Hope I don't get a hairy one next time

G has an ear infection - confirmed at Gp this morning. He was up from 230am until 445am crying and pulling his ear. He's slept for 2 hours so far this afternoon, even with all the banging and drilling going on upstairs.

Think I'll be in bed before him tonight!

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 14:43

glad you can have a bath.
Poor G - is he on ABs? Hopefully should clear up fast and you'll get some sleep.

OP posts:
leakyR · 09/04/2009 14:56

Amoxicillin which he seems to like the taste of.

I've just been sick in kitchen sink. Think tiredness ahs triggered my morning sickness.

CaptainDippy · 09/04/2009 15:00

Poor G, hope it clears up asap. Glad you have a bath and shower now! Think doing the NCT classes is a great idea, especially for your DH. So hard for you with his phobias. Think you are both very brave!!

I was feeling rotten earlier: sore gum from wisdom tooth, very tired, full of cold; but have had a rest and now getting on with work etc .... lots to dooooo .....

CaptainDippy · 09/04/2009 16:08

Runny - I have the black plimsols all packaged up and ready to send ... just email me with your name & address & I'll get them in the post asap

Arrrrrrrrrrgh! I cant have a bath until the morning when the silicone seal has set. I nearly cried on the fitter when he told me.

If I'm not on here tomorrow it's because I'm in the bath. ALL DAY Xmas Grin

Glad you're feeling a bit better Dippy.

Think dh and I are either brave, or stupid - or both? He plans to take up the counselling he's offered when it comes through so hopefully he can keep on top of the phobia long term.

leakyR · 09/04/2009 20:45

ev.en

leakyR · 09/04/2009 20:46

even even.

Off to bed. My brain and hands no longer seem to be communicating.

Eddas · 09/04/2009 21:26

Hiya

happy birthdays to all those i've missed

not been on in a while, normal story, too much going on yada yada

I am here to pick the brains of a few of you if I may, SPB and I think NL, you work for the NHS don't you? Well, I'm hoping you can give me a little advice, I'm thinking of applying for a job within the NHS and wanted some help with the application form. I've been with my current employer forever and haven't had to fill in an application form since I had a saturday job many moons ago! Will you let me know if you can help and I'll CAT you if you don't mind.

All going ok here, am constantly thinking of changing jobs(hence the above) I just don't feel work is going the way I need it to be, I think I need a change and more money would be nice as we do struggle

Ho hum, dc doing well, dd still chatting constantly and ds is the same as ever! Still can't believe they're all 2/nearly 2

CaptainDippy · 09/04/2009 22:27

LOL Leaky - yey for all day bath, though you might find yourself more wrinkly than all the people hwo live here in Eastbourne

Nice to "see" you Eddas My DH has also worked for the NHS, as has my Father-outlaw; so if you needed any more help / advice, I could always get them to get in touch .....

elkiedee · 09/04/2009 22:51

Good luck with the job application Eddas

MJreturns · 10/04/2009 07:48

Hi Eddas, fab to see you here again!
I work for the NHS (on the nursing side of it), but would be happy to help you if I can. I know the sort of things that I look for on an application, but it may be different on the admin side iykwim! Good luck with it all

Elkie, how is D doing now? Hope he is much better x

Leaky, hope you have a lovely bath all day today
Glad your dh will be getting some help with his phobia, he seems to be trying really hard. Hope he gets it under control soon

Dooby, hope you are all settling in well x

SOL, hope the results come through quickly for your mum, thinking of you all

That's it, can't remember any more!
Not much to report here, worked yesterday but have the day off today as it is a bank holiday.
I worked another night shift on Tuesday night. The extra money will be really handy, it will be going straight back out on bills I think, but at least I don't have to juggle anything else to find the money to pay them I suppose!!

Eddas · 10/04/2009 09:42

thank you ladies you're all very kind. MJ, I will CAT you about it if you don't mind, I just don't want to look like a complete muppet with the form! Glad you have a bit of extra cash to pay the bills, always nice

One of the main things i'm not sure about is references. Now i'll put my current employer on there(been there 9 years) but my last one I know has changed offices but I don't know where too and I was only there 6 months so doubt they'd remember me so there's not much point in putting them on is there? but who else can I put down? it says people of standing within the community but i'm not really sure who I could put

StealthPolarBear · 10/04/2009 09:48

Happy Birthday William

Hi Eddas, what kind of job is it? Feel free to CAT me!
Is there anyone else you worked with at the time, not your manager but who could provide a reference?

OP posts:
Eddas · 10/04/2009 09:53

Thanks SPB, it's a finance job. I don't speak to anyone from the other job, would it look bad to not include them as a reference? It's not that they wouldn't give me one, I did well there, I was only there 6 months as they had no work and it was getting silly! I spent all day trying to look busy with nothing on my desk(didn't even have my own computer!!) The job before them was where I work now so they're already a reference, and before that it was a saturday job in Safeway(which no longer exists) and i'm not sure thats relevant anyway? I'll CAT you later my Dad's due here soon

Sexonlegs · 10/04/2009 10:10

Morning all.

Just nipping on.

Eddas, I would put the company down that you worked for for 6 months. They don't need to have known you well, but should be able to at least confirm you worked there, the role, and for how long, and why you left.

Good luck with it all

Need to go, as the girls are being a pita. Back later. xx

StealthPolarBear · 10/04/2009 11:32

I'm dozey - should have remembered you work in finance!
T being a pita too - it's naughty Friday in this house!
