Where is Jas going for 5 hours?

Oh dear flame must have been terrifying.

Flamesparrow · 24/07/2009 20:01

It all sort of went in slow motion. To start with I was just thinking that he was going to break my curtains and I was angry (it looked like it was just over his face and he was leaping taking it with him), then there was the realisation that it was slowing him down as he fell

Aaargh Dh has joined the d&v club. I hope Noah doesn't get it he's not got back up to his birth weight as it is. Hope me or Lewis don't get it either.

Flame - must have been so scary. Hope his neck feels better now.

Frizbe · 24/07/2009 22:07

for dh Phoenix, hope he feels better soon, how was the hospital trip today?

Flame, I hope your feeling ok now, ds is just like dd2, they're going to create havoc together you know the older two will be stood there tutting......

MRM I've not done a thing for two weeks now! will try and get back into things next week, but I'll miss combat on monday if going out with the family (unless it chucks it down)
How long you going to Devon for?

EPPM how's dh is he fixed now?
Jas you might as well go with no nappy, we still insist dd2 wears one, but she's never used it, just screams at us until we stop at a services to be honest she only needs it first thing in the morning really, not at night, just need to get her on the toilet 1st thing, which is hard when you're a night person like me! so nappy it is, until she gets a grip (again) without me forcing her!

Hope everyone else has thrown off the sickness?

Finally broke up for the holidays here today, kids all revved up with no where to go dd1 brought home 'a book of loov' today, made by herself and featuring her and meri's son the wedding's back on!

Phoenix · 24/07/2009 22:15

Hospital ok, Noah was as good as gold. I was sitting in the waithing room (only one of us could go in) waiting for the screaming to start but it never did. They wouldn't tell us any results though, the doctor that referred him will contact us with the results.

Frizbe · 24/07/2009 22:19

for him being good as gold, I'm sure all will be fine too, hope you're not having to clear up after dh?

Phoenix · 24/07/2009 22:23

No he's been sent up to bed away from me and Noah. Lewis is sleeping at my mums so he's safe from the bugs for tonight.

Frizbe · 24/07/2009 22:44

Sure Noah and you will be fine, he's got your immunity still I think, give dh a bottle of bleach to clean the toilet with and stay away!!
Oddily I've just seen this thread, didn't know if you'd want to comment or not?

Phoenix · 25/07/2009 11:13

Thank you for the card Friz

Flamesparrow · 25/07/2009 11:16

How's DH today?

I've just been told off on facebook because a friend of a friend's child died from a blind cord round the neck, and they should be cut off. How exactly can curtains be prevented?!?

OP posts:
Phoenix · 25/07/2009 11:25

Well the stupid stubborn idiot has gone to work . He says he feels loads better, just drained and his legs feel heavy. He daren't eat anything either, just in case. MEN!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/07/2009 11:40

Get shutters like us flame . Although we do have 2 blackout blinds with cords in the house (our room and ds' room) behind the shutters .

Flamesparrow · 25/07/2009 20:17

I love shutters

Out of 80 odd names suggested by MN... we have 7 that both of us agree as maybe, and one with a ? by it so it is a maybe maybe. Going to look at more name sites to see if any leap out.

And no. You can't know the list

Phoenix - did he come home half dead?

OP posts:
Phoenix · 25/07/2009 20:25

Well that's not very fair Flame, we could help you decide

Dh is ok. No more sickness or anything so hopefully the rest of us have escaped it.

thell · 26/07/2009 09:06

Ooh, Flame
I think that's the best way...I like knowing the ball-park, but I think it's much more exciting to hear the name when the baby's born - much more than finding out the gender.

Phoenix - glad DH is on the mend and you seem to have escaped

mustrunmore · 26/07/2009 09:29

I'd go for the maybe one Falme!!!

off to devon now

Frizbe · 26/07/2009 10:34

Enjoy your hols MRM

Flame, we will find out you know

Phoenix glad you got it ok hope dh got on ok at work, is he fixed?

Hmm have rather a few blind cords here, kinda hope the kids won't do anything stupid here

Flamesparrow · 26/07/2009 11:41

Ooh enjoy Devon

Thell - I like the surprise aspect too (at this rate it'll be a surprise for me too ), plus it is the whole thing of once you've told a few people, you get opinions that then taint your own view of the name iyswim. When I was pg with DD Emrys was on the maybe list for a boy, lots of people gave very passionate () opinions on it. It was quite good seeing them squirm trying to say polite things when we used it for dude

MRM - you would probably like the maybe maybe name

OP posts:
thell · 26/07/2009 21:57

I hope you took note of my suggestions

I love The Snow Spider by Jenny Nimmo, so love Arianwen - and Eirlys is pretty, but maybe too close to Emrys.

MRM - enjoy Devon - we'll be crossing over with you next wkend, off to Dorset

Jas · 26/07/2009 22:43

EPPM- We drove up to Hartlepool for my grandmas 90th birthday.

We went no nappy, and ds lasted 5 hrs with toilet breaks, then fell asleep for the last 1/2 hour and was wet.
Same coming home, but no accidents at all while we were away.

DP is shattered (he did all the driving)

We are home tomorrow then getting the train up to my parents for the rest of the week

Happy hols mrm.

I hope dp is ok Phoenix, and it doesn't spread.

Flame - blinds with cords (we have lots) and curtains are not really the same. Glad kamikaze by is ok.DS does the same things, too.

Being on hol was great. Deserted beach meant we could let him run free and wear himself out a bit, plus loads of lovely relatives to take turn on preventing him getting out of the birthday party venue and onto the road (was brought back about 5 times) so I got a break!

Frizbe · 27/07/2009 21:09

Jas that's great that you got a nice break from all that chasing! I didn't know you were descended from Hartlepool(or is it dh's side?) one of my mates close by is an ex Hartlepool resident, as is her dh's family! (and their families are long standing!)

Have a great time at your mums (Brum?)
and well done to ds on the not weeing, dd2 is getting dryer at nights slowly!

Thell, I like Eirlys a lot too

Shattered here, we did Alton Towers today, thankfully we had a half price voucher from school and dd2 went free, so not too bad a day out at all, though was a bit miffed to find out they've introduced a £5 fee for parking! Great day out though, kids loved it

EachPeachPearMum · 27/07/2009 21:35

So, we went away camping this weekend... ummm 4 people (1 of whom is in his travel cot) do not fit into a 3-man tent!
Poor DH had to sleep in the porch...oops!

We got v wet sunday [grr]

DS still waking up 3 times in the night...

OH OH OH and we have a tooth!!! a tiny, teeny point of one, front right very exciting... of course, he cut it while we were camping, so I'm sure most people on the site shared that with us much wailing at 2am

So... mrm likes the maybe maybe name... is Tudor welsh?

£5 for parking unbelievable... legoland has a £4 charge for the nearest car park, but the rest is free... what a rip-off. How much is a ticket now?

Jas · 27/07/2009 23:38

Yay! for the first tooth. Sounds like a fun weekend. Camping with small children really doesn't appeal to me at all.

Frizbe - Dad is Hartlepool going back generations....tell your mate my old name, and see if she recognises it. The only time I didn't get laughter as a response to it was when people said, "Oh are you from HP then?" It is a local name.

Mum is in Norwich (they moved there when she retired, so no connection for me). Brum was one of my inbetween homes.

Never been to Alton Towers. Is there much for little ones/scaredy dd1 types?

Flamesparrow · 28/07/2009 17:43

Oooh a TOOTH!!!!

BumFluff Nappies closing down sale is now on

Someone is asking about buying it as a business?!?!

So, I called the Drs today for blood results. Normally if they haven't been seen by the Dr, they say they haven't been seen, they'll call if there is any issue. No... Today she said she was printing them out to take through now, took my number, and said I would be called this afternoon or in the morning

Overly enthusiastic new woman working there, or should I be concerned?!?!? It could just as easily be me being anaemic as my glucose levels, but still a tad nervous!
