Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frizbe · 19/07/2009 20:37

ah just found out official advice is don't get into contact for 5 days! alledgly not contagious after that?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/07/2009 20:39

mrm. Dd on school playscheme til 8th Aug - will you still not have a washer by then ? But yes, you may bring some with you .

Eek for all being so ill Friz. But at least you've had it and survived .

How is dh now EPPM?

EachPeachPearMum · 19/07/2009 21:59

Well... DH is much better today- still tired and headachey, but temp has stayed down now, and aches in body have gone.
DD however tumbled down the stairs from the top, so we spent teatime in A&E, getting her double-checked. She is going to have a corker of a blackeye tomorrow And her shoulder and back will be all bruised too... we have a wall at the bottom, because the stairs do a 90 degree turn (Jas- you probably know what I mean) and she was in a little crumpled heap, wedged into the door and the bottom step, poor thing.
She howled, and said 'Mama... it hurts everywhere... except my foot!' 5 minutes later she said 'even my foot hurts now!'

mrm- you'd be welcome here... but you'd probably need to stay over, which would mean sofa for you, and DSs on DD's floor (ie a very tight squeeze)... and it's probably a little too far to drag laundry (but you'd be welcome to do so, of course!)

Jas · 20/07/2009 00:01

Sorry but lol at mrm bringing her washing to you EPPM

I hope dd is ok. We've all fallen down ours at some point but no major injuries thankfully.

If I can find a bus in the right direction, I would do an Ikea trip with you mrm. The dds are doing holiday clubs for much of August, but only 2 hours in the mornings (church run and very cheap ) so we have not much else planned.

Or you could come here and have a day at the gunpowder mills as I can get you in on my ticket for holiday activities on a Wednesday

mustrunmore · 20/07/2009 07:35

Omg, am loving the idea of a peripatetic summer of laundry Thank you all though . We are getting a loan so will get machine once have the money; supposed to be to cover our overdrwanness each monthm, but there you go.

Have just used my clubcard points to get ride wristbands for Southend in Aug; ds1 is gonna love it

Jas, I'm sure he would be over the moon to see the girls, in Ikea of the Gunpowder Mills (how close to youbtw? always rtead about there in the dsays out book but never been!)

I remember when ds1 did a terrific stairs thing at about 3; a complete somersault, landed on his head with his neck at a hideous angle. The only time I've ever actuaslly been worried bout a accident. But he was unscathed

Jas · 20/07/2009 07:46

W/M really is an essential though. Glad you are getting it sorted.

GPM is about 1/2 way between my house and the train station (the reason I bought the ticket now we have no car), and a nice day out if it is not too wet.

I have opened my holiday money tin, and there is just over £100 in it so it can go to pay fr days out with the kids. Swimming today.

mustrunmore · 20/07/2009 07:54

I think the swim tokens are back on nestle cereal Jas.

Half way, but I didnt actually walk past and not notice did I? If we come your way, I wanna see my ancestors signature in the museum this time!!

I might see if I can do the whole trip by bus this time, cheaper. What bus from Enfiled? Or Albany?

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/07/2009 08:09

Ooh - when you going to Southend mrm? I tried to persuade some friends to go there a few weeks ago (I've never been and knew that dd would love seaside), but none of them wanted to. If we're free I'd happily join you there for the day.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/07/2009 08:10

And we went swimming yesterday. Ds had an absolute ball, and stayed in the pool for at least 45 mins .

Jas · 20/07/2009 08:13

Yes you did walk past it. It is the turning opposite MacDonalds.

I will find out buses and get back to you.....

I have two swim tokens but not sure if the pool takes them.
Some pools are doing free swimming for under 16s and over 65s as part of Olympic preparations, but of course ours isn't doing under 16s, only oldies.

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2009 08:16

I have read, absorbed, and forgotten most.

for all the sick people. I think I am finally over it now. No idea if I had flu de swine or just the basic kind, but it was crappy whatever. Oh and the fortnight of constant coughing seems to have wrecked my muscles and I now have SPD symptoms I am just trying to collect a full book of pregnancy issues this time round

Still hoping to come harass you at some point CSWS but having huge issues with tax credits etc, so it depends when they sort it out so I can pay for the petrol!

Holidays start at 1.30pm. I am trying to be bouncy about it

OP posts:
Jas · 20/07/2009 08:45

Nice to see you back as you Flame

@ SPD though

Jas · 20/07/2009 08:57

Buses:

317 from Enfield
217 from Turnpike Lane
491 from Silver Street (very roundabout looking route)
279 from Manor House

Not sure of London geography or if any of them would be useful but they are the only four I can find

EachPeachPearMum · 20/07/2009 09:25

they had a halfday monday flame? odd... why bother?

for spd though.... I'm guessing you wouldn't be up for a fourth?

mrm- glad you're getting washing macjine sorted, even if you have to loan... just so much to wash... it would be hellish doing launderette just the volume, nevermind dragging 2 children...

Anyone else passing through here is welcome btw... I am around until... oh yes- January

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2009 09:48

I have no idea where you are EPPM but will keep that in mind

#4 was ruled out with the sickness

I am enjoying being me again. I seem to be a lot more vocal as me for some reason.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 20/07/2009 09:49

Oh the half day monday thing is something to do with having to have a certain number of days and them having used up various training days during the year. It means that we start back on a Monday instead of a Friday or something iirc. Plus by finishing at half one it counts as a full day (2 registrations) but they only have to be there for half.

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 20/07/2009 12:39

217 looking good, can get from Cambridge Circus I think (you can get to Ikea that way too but obv in other direction!). Er, except dont kno where to get off lol... you'll have to stand in a bus stop waving madly

Jas · 20/07/2009 13:04

End of the line, then walk/pay for extortionately priced Essex bus to WA.

I could probably walk up and meet you at the bus station though. Needs to be a Wed in August.

mustrunmore · 20/07/2009 13:28

As long as ds2 will be up to the walk, thats fine Kinda just depends on his mood! Ds1 will be spurred on by the thought of seeing the girls I'm sure.

Frizbe · 20/07/2009 14:20

1/2 day thing is weird Flame, but it appears that nottm and brum finish tomorrow , so they're on a 2 day thing this week, where as we have a reprieve till this friday

Yay for holiday tin money Jas its great when you surprise yourself like that

EPPM glad dh is on the mend now for dd, glad she is ok though, hope she's not too bruised.

CSWS for ds loving the pool.

MRM sorry I don't know if they're on 40 yet, as I didn't go last week due to being ill and I still don't feel upto it this week, so who knows? I'm hoping to get there this week, will check you tube for no 40!

Well bar my throat I'm defo better, am giving throat till Wed to improve, if not off to Dr's. Took myself for a consilatory starbucks with Meri this am, ohh it was so good to get out then we took a look at Next sale, well what was left of it, the kids section looked like a plague of some description had hit it, hardly anything left in girls at all. I did manage to get myself a black top dirt cheap (£4) though, so am happy!

Flamesparrow · 21/07/2009 09:38

Jealous of holiday tin money I would have broken into it for wine during the course of the year

Meant to be taking the kids on a picnic but it is wet. Prob just going to have it at my friend's house but I am sooooooooooooooo tired. I went a bit hit and miss with my pills, and I think I am now going through the symptoms of starting them again . I do at least feel well enough to start sending out orders though which is a bonus - apart from the fact that they have to wait til Boy gets home as I can't lift the boxes without crippling myself

What you all up to?

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 21/07/2009 14:09

Friz, 40 is great! With a very random rock and roll theme for track 5, after all the more heavy rock things!! I love the new Body pump tracks too.

So, ds1 home sick from school on his last day Has the vomits that ds2 had last week.

And latest on the washer..... dh opened it all up again last night, to check and recheck..... saw a tiny glimmer of red tucked wayt out of reach...inserted chopsticks...... found one of the elastic bands that ds2 is so obsessed with collecting off pavements, wrapped round the propeller for the pump Might be ok now! Testing tonight!

mustrunmore · 21/07/2009 14:11

Jas, aug 12th or 26th currently free! Subject to a trip with friends which we all have to be able to make the date, buty should be ok.

Jas · 21/07/2009 14:53

12th please. I have just booked the 26th with my friend who is here for the day.

Holiday tin needs tin opener to break into it, so I don't break in for spending money (last years got spent n the gas bill though.)

mustrunmore · 21/07/2009 14:58

Ok, 12th, but it is subject to that beinf the only time we can all go with friend or only time I can get cheap train ticket to my Mums!!! So if you get a better offer take it, and we'll just meet on a non-wednesday for ikea

We donet havr a hol tin.
