Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CantSleepWontSleep · 23/06/2009 20:30

Doh - I read it as ds having his tonsils out, and thought that it was odd as I didn't recall you mentioning that he'd had tonsilitis often!

Fingers crossed for your eyes being hormonal EPPM. I got a letter today to say that I am due my eye test too. Last time dh and I went (he is due too) you may recall that we spent £800 on glasses, so hoping that we don't need new ones this time!

How is dh's work now Jas? Did the guy cough up properly in the end?

Jas · 24/06/2009 20:26

EPPM - Bad eyes is one of my fears. I suspect I would've stood in the optician and cried until they found me a sooner appointment

Work - The weekend job was a 1 day private job,so they lost out n a days work as a result of the guy at the last minute deciding they should do it for 25% less than agreed.
On the plus side he has had 2 days last week, and every day so far this week. It is only one day at a time, but the guy does pay (eventually) a decent wage so hopefully he will keep dp on for a while.

I got my glasses not long after you, csws, so I must be due a check, too.

I've just thrown away a dress of dd2s with scissor cuts in the hem
She has no idea how it happened....

Frizbe · 24/06/2009 20:42

Flame, hope dh is feeling lots better by now, dh here has had his out.

Ok so I have to watch out for the girls hacking their clothes up now then

So where's the heat gone? sun goes down, heat goes phut, bah.....am trying to dry dd2's duvet outside still, as at 5pm, she went upstairs to get something, then yelled, mummy I've just wee'd on the bed I'd just changed the bedding over......why she didn't go to the toilet???

Frizbe · 24/06/2009 21:27

Jeeez, just had lucky escape with dd2, she went quiet, so dh went upto check she was asleep ok, she'd got a loop of ribbon that is attached to a small baby pillow (it plays music), wrapped tight around her left index finger, which was going dark purple.... shudder, luckily we got it in time, woke her up, to make sure she had feeling in it etc, soooo glad we went up to check...little blighter she is!

EachPeachPearMum · 24/06/2009 23:15

Jas- the reason I can't do sooner is that you cannot drive afterwards for 6 hours, and I have to get DD from nursery school... all the late afternoon appts were gone already.

Friz- it's still pretty warm here after sundown.

for finger though...

Just had the cold from hell... only lasted 48hrs though... was seriously thinking it may be swine flu at one point- I was so rough... just a stuffy nose now.

Frizbe · 25/06/2009 22:10

Phew, glad it wasn't EPPM, yay for feeling better now

Rained here a bit this morning, up in the clouds on our hill only though it appears

EachPeachPearMum · 26/06/2009 21:11

We had torrential rain this afternoon... just at school pick-up time. The nursery was actually completely surrounded by water, on a little island

Am feeling like a crap mother... DS' eczema is horrific atm, so took him to gps... and he has impetigo too.
The dr was lovely- he is a paed from the childrens hospital that does 1 day a week at our practice- but it seems we are not using enough emolient, and he is suffering. (impetigo is just one of those things)
Last night I cried- he even had a little crack and bleed on his penis FFS- how does it even be dry enough inside a nappy for that to happen?

Seems not to be cmp allergy though- am eating no dairy- no difference. Pesto seems to have an effect, but goodness knows what it is...

EachPeachPearMum · 26/06/2009 21:31

How is Phoenix? Any news yet?

Phoenix · 26/06/2009 21:34

Still here

I'm going to the hospital on Thursday (37+6) and they will do a vaginal exam to see if they can do a sweep. No idea what will happen after that though . C section booked for July 10th if all else fails. So 2wks today or less i will have my baby

Phoenix · 26/06/2009 21:35

And you are not a crap mother {{{hugs}}}

EachPeachPearMum · 26/06/2009 21:54

Thankyou for the hug... and a v excited SQUEAL for 2 weeks!

Frizbe · 26/06/2009 22:32

for date Phoenix, very excited for you

at the rain being so bad EPPM, my mates at Glasto did text this am to say they were sodden, but sure the music has made up for it Sorry to hear that ds's excema is so bad I've been trying to keep dd2 in leggings here, as her's is better if the skin joints on her legs don't touch, if that makes sense? we've also been using Aveeno cream (from pharmacist) as seems to work better on her than diprobase, hth's.

Frizbe · 26/06/2009 22:34

Oh heading for Brum tomorrow night, but sorry won't have time to drop by I'm afraid, its village fete over where auntie liz lives! I'm assuming she is talking about Bournville, as she lives on the border with Stirchely/Bournville?? then we're apparently picnicing on Sunday going to see the meerkats? somewhere??? duno? am being organised!

thell · 27/06/2009 11:50

Ooh, Phoenix, hope all is well and the sunshine isn't making you too uncomfortable

I think I might be naughty and leave my glasses for another 6-12 months (also due for test this summer)...as I spent £90 on contact lenses for my birthday party, which I only wore for about three hours !!
It was my thirtieth, and it was fancy dress. Arwen wouldn't have looked right with specs on
I won't even wear them again, as the vision I get is poor, and the ruddy things really made my eyes itch and ache.
EPPM, I hope you get good news about your eyes.

-ive test this morning, so was initially but am beginning to feel a bit calmer.
I have started having to stop myself getting pangs of jealousy and sadness when I see big round pregnant women. All this waiting and worrying is getting very annoying.

Phoenix · 27/06/2009 19:26

We haven't got much in the way of sunshine here its just really hot and muggy and not very nice.

Going to see Take That tomorrow , very excited

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/06/2009 20:09

Ooh be careful they don't bring on labour Phoenix .

EPPM - pesto contains dairy . And nuts of course. So perhaps it is one of those.
How odd that I'd not really heard of babies getting impetigo before, and now both of our ds's have had it!

EachPeachPearMum · 28/06/2009 10:56

Well... it is dairy I think... I was feeling crappy friday after the gps, and as I thought it wasn't dairy- I had a bowl of ice cream after dinner... saturday morning- the most amazing poo fountain... of course he wasn't wearing a nappy...eerrkkk

Unbelievable... it was carnage. He has just got to the grabbing ankles stage, so you can see where this is going... he needed 2 baths.

CSWS- I was a bit at impetigo too! The back of his head is a mess, but I assumed it's because it gets lain on a lot, so the skin can't heal. The cream has made a big difference though- but it is difficult to get the ABs down him- he has learnt to spit v quickly!
I am a complete dimdim about pesto too!

Opticians wasn't good... (couldn't see to mn last night)- she is referring me to eye hospital, non-urgently as she wants a 2nd opinion, but thinks I have a hole in the retina.

Phoenix- hope take that were great!

Thell- what did you dress up as? Was there a theme?

Frizbe- hope you're having a great weekend not visiting me! Aveeno hasn't particularly helped for DS tbh... tried it pretty early on after recommendations on mn.

Frizbe · 28/06/2009 19:26

Thanks EPPM yes had a great weekend ta! Did the fete at Bournville last night, lots of rides and chocolate for the girls, and they happily watched the dancing too we did Nature Park today follwed by Picnic in Cannon Hall Park, both in bed now, shatterd Sorry I didn't get to see you in person for your eye problems, hope it can be fixed? and your apptmt comes through asap. I will try and come to see you over the summer hols though (if you're about, will shout nearer the time)

Phoenix at CSWS's suggestion that you might go into labour at Take That! hope you're having a great time, tis horribly sticky tonight and with this weeks weather forcast a horrible week to be pregnant.

Thell {{{Hugs}}} it will happen, but I know how horrible it is waiting and trying and waiting.

All exicted here, we're getting a new kitten tomorrow (if you can't have more kids, start on the animals!) it's a BOY! which will help dh not feel so outnumbered and he can sympathise with the moggy when its nuts get cut off He's black apparently, coming from the rescue lady, over the road from my mum, we're off to pick him up when the girls have gone to school, so he gets settling time, prior to the madness....

TheFool · 28/06/2009 19:38

I get to play with a kitten!!!

for impetigo and eye issues EPPM

Yay for a date Phoenix

and erm, have forgotten everything else.

B has a nice black eye from losing an argument with a swing. It is scary looking at it - it hit her right on her eyelid, she could have lost her eye

Frizbe · 28/06/2009 19:58

Flame, that's not good hon, hope she's ok now though, give her a hug from me.
Yep you get to play right off to watch top gear and graze on some cheese n biscuits I think, am so un-inspired to cook in the heat and its going to get so much worse this week by the looks of things, oh how I wish we lived near the sea!

EachPeachPearMum · 28/06/2009 20:45

Thell- I completely misread your post this morning please ignore my questions about fancy dress....[dim emoticon]

Flame- lucky she didn't split it open if it was that hard!

Frizbe- would be lovely to see you again over summer Yay for kitten!

thell · 29/06/2009 11:08

Thanks for the hugs - I'm feeling more positive as AF arrived promptly the day after the test, so good signs that my cycle seems to be approaching normal again (touch wood!). I'm sure it was giving up soya milk . Seems I have been taking a mild contraceptive all this time [slaps forehead]

Flame, DD ran into the arm of the sofa on Sat, finding the only hard bit on the whole thing, and hit right across the bridge of her nose. Blood and snot everywhere, inconsolable screeching, followed by Mary Poppins to calm her down! It's still swollen and developing a nice colour now.
It's the heat - they seem to lose all co-ordination! (and DD has just shot up in height and shoe size too, so she's as awkward as a pubescent boy!)

Frizbe - what will you call the kitten?

Frizbe · 29/06/2009 17:51

Thell OUCH, feeling sore for your dd too......
have lovely kitten, bounce, bounce, he's all black, has been named Loki, its rather fitting, he's 7/8 weeks old, so will be fun trying to keep him inside for the next few weeks till fully jabbed up! dd1 is loving him, dd2 has yet to meet him, dh is just getting her from nursery now...

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/06/2009 20:12

That soya milk is a bugger isn't it thell!

I've never heard of Loki before friz - is it from something?

EachPeachPearMum · 29/06/2009 21:58

Loki is skandi god of mischief- great name!
