Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frizbe · 11/06/2009 22:57

Well you'd better get started with the olive oil, or the almond oil if you're going for a natural birth at a big size Phoenix I love your baby names

Has anyone elses kids had a mad growth spurt, dd2 seems bigger everytime I see her at the moment

Frizbe · 12/06/2009 22:27

you can tell its summer, I'm talking to myself again!!
Flame, can you email me or txt me dates that you're up please! so I can scheme

Jas · 13/06/2009 21:23

lol Frizbe.

Well either way it won't be long til you see him, Phoenix.

I am trying t distract myself from ds. He has been horrible all day.....weeing everywhere, and now keeps getting on dd2s bed (which he has already weed on, s has no waterproof sheet on it)

EachPeachPearMum · 13/06/2009 21:56

Oh dear Jas- doesn't sound good.
I am shattered- think ds is having growth spurt as well as teething... feeding every 2 hours- ridiculous!

Jas · 13/06/2009 23:36

That doesn't sound good, either EPPM. I hope you catch up with him son, and things settle down again.

I am very glad I don't smack my children. If I did, I would be at serious risk of battering ds at times. He just doesn't care what he does, and nothing I say/do has any noticeable effect.

I will get some sleep and try and think of something I can do to help.

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/06/2009 06:57

Know what you mean Jas. I'd have battered dd in Asda yesterday too! I presume that taking away toys/losing treats has no effect at all.

Well I put the dc to bed at 10:30 last night (we'd all been out), and yet ds still had me up at 6 this morning!

Yuk for 2 hourly feeding though EPPM. Is he about 4 months now? It'll be the start of the BIG 4/5 month growth spurt if so. Am glad to be past that!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/06/2009 20:34

Dh has (at least) 3 months work back with his old company from next month . On a slightly lower, but still good rate, so hurrah for that. Though am terrified a bit nervous about looking after both dc on my own week in week out, given that they are quite attached to their daddy, and he is still sleeping in with dd.

Jas · 15/06/2009 22:00

That's really good news, csws. You will be fine with them both. The hard time will be when he leaves in the mornings, but they will get used to it.

Dp has nothing We are surviving on handouts from grandparents, and tax credits and a credit card atm......

I tried really hard with ds, and did everything I could to wear him out today. Despite a morning at nursery, and walking there and back, he is still up. I have just redressed him and put a fresh nappy on. He thinks he doesn't need one at all now.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/06/2009 22:11

Gosh Jas - this is late to still be up. Mind you, we were out until gone 10pm on Saturday, and dd had spent 7 hours charging about a field with 2 other children, but still somehow managed to not fall asleep in the car on the way home, and to have a quick dunk in the bath when she got back!

Dh leaving in the mornings won't be the problem here Jas, as he'll only leave once a week, whilst they are still in bed, and return 5 days later .

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/06/2009 22:13

Sorry, forgot to do an extra for dp still having no work. You could do with a nice lottery win really couldn't you?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/06/2009 10:42

Good news! csws

Sorry for yours though Jas

DS still feeding like a demon, but a little more settled now.

DD is being a handful too... I reached a lowpoint yesterday morning when she refused to come upstairs and get ready for nursery ... I said I wasn't taking her and went off for a bath instead She had howled at the bottom of the stairs for 20 minutes prior to that though

I took her at 9 instead, so all was fine.

DH actually has a driving lesson today
Only taken him 5 and a half years to get round to booking....

Frizbe · 16/06/2009 23:29

for dh finally getting around to it then EPPM, sorry to hear dd being a pita though....how's the spurt, still ongoing?

for dh's work CSWS, bet that's a relief, why are all these Feb/March babies bad sleepers? is it something to do with being Spring babies, do they sleep less? I'm damn sure my Nov dd1 is a great sleeper and its obviously lots darker......

Jas, sorry to hear dh is still struggling for work, hope he picks something up soon, I was going to ask dh if he has any boy parenting tips for you, but he's just dozed off, he seems to have got ss's number ok though, just dd2 we have to sort out here and he's suckered in by her half the time....

Phoenix, how's you and bump?

TheFool · 17/06/2009 11:54

Frizbe - think Sat 1st - weds 5th if that is ok with you?

Trying to catch up but brain melting trying to do very unorganised bumfluff books.

I am on happy pills that are working

thell · 18/06/2009 10:44

Hello again!

Is it ok if I pop back in here to see you all?
I didn't MN for ages, then the last few months have started popping in again and am curious how you're all getting on

Congratulations to CSWS and Flame on your DSs!
Anyone else had more babies since 06 ?
(I'm still trying for #2)

Jas · 18/06/2009 11:35

Hello! Welcome back

Phoenix will have another ds very soon, too and EPPM (you may nt know her) has a small ds, too.

Things are slow going on here now, so it will be easy to keep up! Three year olds are harder work than two year olds, though.

Frizbe - I will always take boy parenting tips, at any time. I definitely need them....

DP got a phne call for some work at 07.30 today No idea IF IT IS ONLY ONE DAY, R MORE, BUT ANYTHING AT ALL IS GOD RIGHT NW.

Oops no time to retype, I have a lift to pick up ds, due any second now....

thell · 18/06/2009 11:43

oops Flame - just spotted DC3 is gender unknown
Came across your name thread the other night. Off to make a suggestion...

thell · 18/06/2009 11:46

Hello Jas!
DD was a very busy 2 yr old, so no MNetting for me, but now she goes to Nursery 4 mornings a week it's far too tempting to procrastinate on here instead of actually doing some housework
Also I need an outlet for my TTC obsession.

EachPeachPearMum · 18/06/2009 13:23

Jas- I am LOVING your book for book swap....

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/06/2009 13:55

Hellooooo thell!

Damewashalot/helen38 had another ds too.
Phoenix due next month.
Flame due Oct (or late Sept?)

So you're trying for another too - how exciting. Did you go back to work, or are you a SAHM now?

Back later - friends due any min and I have to feed ds and put him down for a nap first!

TheFool · 18/06/2009 13:56

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

To be fair, DC3 is being called Gus so much now, I am going to be completely baffled if it comes out with no penis

yay for work.

what was Jas's book?

(missing book swaps a bit now my sanity has come back )

TheFool · 18/06/2009 13:57

def October

thell · 18/06/2009 15:36

I'm a SAHM.
I'm not very good at it though - I need a personal motivator / at least another adult here with me to snap me into organised snd focused mode!
I always imagined my Nursery Teacher training would have me running my house like a nursery and planning lovely activities with DD all the time, but I am very lazy :p

TTC has been a bit of a shock - Sally was a one-shot-wonder, but #2 still a no show after a year! Beginning to try to sneak extra zinc into our diet,...

EachPeachPearMum · 18/06/2009 16:23

NAO had a(nother) DS too...

Flame- the end of Mr Y - I can't put it down (well, theoretically... in practice, if course...)

TheFool · 18/06/2009 16:27

Ooooh I liked that one Not good trying to follow it whilst drinking wine though!

Jas · 18/06/2009 17:21

DP bought it for my birthday.
