teething? but he's only just been born!

I suppose he is 13 weeks now... but just seems too early, and no lumpy gums... though he is gnawing everything in sight.

Sounds like the replacement is going well... but what does pattern imprinted mean? is this on blueprints?

I agree- it would be lovely with all that open space (says she with a garden smaller than your patio!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 14/05/2009 20:36

The cobbles on the driveway are actually pattern imprinted concrete, and the flagstone pattern on the back patio likewise.

Napoleon was born with teeth you know . And teething doesn't necessarily mean 'imminent tooth'.

EachPeachPearMum · 14/05/2009 20:47

I hope ds will end up taller than Napoleon!
was being dim re 'cobbles', sorry.

mustrunmore · 15/05/2009 09:57

very very sick hoping 24hr as got race for life tommo

sorry, am skim reading.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/05/2009 09:59

Sick as in vomming... or sick as in ill?
either way... hope its over quickly

mustrunmore · 15/05/2009 12:52

sick as in no food 2 days vomiting bile every half hour back pains tummy pains cant stand up

Frizbe · 15/05/2009 21:38

MRM sorry to hear that, I was talking to a woman in Wilko today, who informed me that her 1st born had a 48 hr bug a few days ago and her 2nd had gone down with it this morning, I went back to our store and washed my hands!! (OCD Alert)

CSWS, yay for patio, that sounds lovely, nice of them to do a bit extra too then! you plans sound good (now picture me trying to explain it to dh, who has been umming and arring whilst trying to look interested)
Sorry dh didn't get the job sure something will kick off soon, fingers x'd for you both.

Gosh, yes, teeth, he's certainly old enough EPPM, did you go Dr's or not bother?

Cracking thunderstorm here earlier, struck both conducters in centre of town and bounced all over, all the alarms going off, got to watch totty brigade invade Wilkos over the road from our store, as it blew their alarm system/electrics, had a pile of excited kids in who should have been playing pokemon, but instead they had their noses pressed against the windows in excitement!

Jas · 15/05/2009 22:36

mrm - No racing tomorrow then Sounds awful to have it for two days.

Csws - work seems to be progressing well. Sorry dh is still not working though. It is not a god situation at all. I hope he finds something son.
DP has had work the past two weeks, which has been a huge relief for us. Nothing long term/secure, but anything at all is a start.

Yes the bath goes into an alcove....pic on facebook....and the shower is over that end of it. It was the built in wardrobe when it was our bedroom. Much better use of the space now. I've taken apart some f the old one, and hopefully that is tomorrows job while the dds are at a party.

How is ds now EPPM?

Phoenix - How did you get on at hospital?

Frizbe - Taps in the wall were the only option, or you would have had to stand in the bath to turn the water on! A pain to fit though, and if they ever break/leak we will have to dig a hole in the wall to get at them.

We are all plodding along with life. Nothing much to report. DS is still loving nursery (I'm increasing him t 4 days after 1/2 term) and his speech is improving in leaps and bounds now. We are also finally starting to potty train. It is less stressful that I found it with the dds, but he won't let me put pants on in the mornings so we always start the day in a nappy as I don't have the time for gentle persuasion at 8.20.

Frizbe · 16/05/2009 19:06

Ah yes there is that technical hitch Jas
Was laughing at God situation as well, but guessing you meant good
Glad ds is getting on ok at nursery is it nice to have free time to yourself again (assumingyou get a few hours in the morning now?)

Ooopse sorry Phoenix forgot you had hospital yest, how'd it go?

Where is everyone today, not used to it being this quiet!

Work internet is still fried from last nights lightening hit, waiting for bt to get it sorted out. Oh and took great gran out today to a garden centre and dd2 randomly did box splits in the middle of the place I had to quickly say to dd1, don't try that, as she'd just hurt herself whilst telling dd2 to get up off the floor and out of peoples way, even if they were cooing at her

Phoenix · 16/05/2009 20:22

Hi

for sickness mrm, hope you're feeling better.

Jas - forgot to say bathroom looks very nice

Hope ds is better EPPM

Friz - Cracking thunderstorm??? If it was anything like the one we had it was bloody scary

Nothing much happened at the hospital. Saw a consultant for a few seconds while he explained what gestational diabetes is and he just said they'd keep an eye on the babys size and maybe induce at 37/38wks if necessary but i really don't want to be induced and it not work and end up with a section so i'm going to ask next time if i can just go straight to an elective (lewis was emergency c-section) and see what he says. Then just saw diabetic mw, diabetic nurse and dietician all at once who just had a look through my blood results that i'd tested myself and advised about what to eat. I go back in 4wks.

Jas · 16/05/2009 22:07

Ah, well, it is god that you seem t be keeping it under control with diet, Phoenix. I'd guess you'd probably be k for an early elective if needed as you had a em cs last time. I know if I'd wanted I could have for ds.

Thanks for all bathroom compliments I've spent today with dp dismantling the old one. My fingers are cut to shreds by broken tiles, as I got the job of chipping them off the wall while he removed the heavy stuff. A trip to the dump, then more removing/smashing up is planned for tomorrow

Sorry about God situation....I still have dodgy (the keyboard I took from you csws has the wrong connections so I can't use it)

Frizbe · 16/05/2009 23:34

Phoenix, storm tracker described it as weak! can't have been that bloody weak if our internet is still out Glad hospital went kinda ok...good news you can go for elective btw email me your address again!

Jas, hope your hands heal soon then, happy tipping in the am (we must chuck some more junk too)

mustrunmore · 17/05/2009 11:24

we just had rain.

no run, but gonna gatecrash a diff obe hopefully; thry wont notcie 2 people with the same running number amongstthousands

I'm in seroiud gott-get-back-into-work mode again. Tryin to find a training course that i can get fees paid for, or even an apprenticeship, but its all like trawlig throgh mud... anyone up on this kinda thing?

mustrunmore · 17/05/2009 11:26

smashing up tiles sounds good to me jas

Frizbe · 17/05/2009 20:15

We had lots of rain today if that any help MRM, stopped my attempts at gardening, bah.
sorry you didn't get to run, hope you feeling better now though?

I guess you need to go and see a careers adviser for what courses etc you can get onto? what do you fancy doing? if I were looking I'd be very tempted to go public sector, cause the holidays and pensions are good, thinking teacher, nurse, dr, dentist that sort of thing.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/05/2009 20:23

Hi all... ds is much better thank you- has had a marathon nap this afternoon- 3hours! Is back to his usual smily happy self.

Jas- am confused about the "God situation"????

What are you interested in mrm? (other than exercise ) though surely- being a fitness instructor would be ideal, no? Hope you're feeling much better.

Friz is right on public sector... and also can get term-time only hours which may be a blessing... however, I think massive public cuts are coming soon, due to economic situation.

Jas · 17/05/2009 22:09

Good .....but with a dodgy "o"key EPPM!

I am cross. DS has ripped to sheds one of my favourite books. It is the one he choses every night at bedtime, and I have no idea why he has done it. His only response was "you fix it".

Bathroom now contains only a sink (as dp ran out of cap things to disconnect everything so had to leave it.)

Jas · 17/05/2009 22:10

Sorry mrm, no idea abut work/training at all.

Frizbe · 18/05/2009 09:15

MRM was thinking, how about training to be a sports physio? or something along those lines, even just a physio?! I think you should do something that you're interested in, which seems like exercise to me, but obviously you want the thing with a reasonable amout of money, which basic instructing isn't.....so something medically related could do (hols and pension, think hols and pension) Seeing as your London based, have you looked into what staff they'll need for the olympics? they will need a lot for a few weeks???? Try looking up sports science programmes, see what sort of jobs crop up hth's. (in the meantime if our expansion hits london I'll shout )

Jas, yay for nearly all bathroom done for ds shredding the book, why oh why do they do that?

EPPM, yay for ds feeling better and yes term time working, what a bonus!

mustrunmore · 18/05/2009 12:50

Think they're registering spec cvs for olympics now.

lol at teacher; how I wish I could sell my qualification and buy something more useful to me

Really pissed off cos still no exercise since Wed morning . Alot better but tummy still painful. And ds1 is in midst of it now.

Chloe55 · 19/05/2009 07:58

Morning,

Hope you are feeling better now MRM, surely it can't matter if you gatecrash, it's all for charity at the end of the day.

Pg - I would have thought you would be an acceptable candidate for elective ceasarian, I hope you get the answer you are looking for next time you speak to the doc.

Jas, at the book, it's my pet hate when kids ruin books, ds has scribbled in a couple of really nice ones and I have gone up the wall. One of mindees chews the spines on books too which sends me insane.

Sorry, I have forgetten everything else I read

Feeling crappy myself. Despit my period finishing a week ago I have started getting sore boobs again, constant headache and the odd tummy cramp. Sick of feeling like shit now

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/05/2009 20:57

Am reading, but nothing interesting to say.

EachPeachPearMum · 19/05/2009 21:59

LOl- I missed Frizbe's bit about jobs at the olympics... and thought you were going to enter mrm! Hope you're completely better now.

Jas very for book... I take it it was one of your childhood favorites? I keep mine out of reach, and DD only gets them occasionally read to her, as some of them are disintegrating now, though of course that's a lot easier if you have children that don't climb.... gah- I think ds will pass her physically in about 12 months time tbh....he is rolling already, can sit up unaided for a few seconds too... whereas she finally managed a slide by herself last week

Chloe- sorry you feel so lousy... has all this been checked out by your GP? (sorry if youve BTDT)

csws- nothing interesting? How is rebuild going now?
Is dd all better (it has been long enough to clear yes?)

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/05/2009 22:15

What was wrong with my dd EPPM?! :dimwit:

Tool store arriving tomorrow. Shed (log cabin) on order but will be 6 weeks or so.
Windows should be next week or week after (not holding breath).

Jas · 19/05/2009 22:33

It was a charity shop buy, but a lovely story, and I get attached to books. He asked for it at bedtime tonight.

The real treasures are in a cupboard I have to climb on furniture to reach!

I've just spent an hour reading a pasta thread, and now haven't got time for anything else.....
