Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
vivaGlasvegas · 26/03/2009 19:06

thanks for all your well wishes, C had a great rally yesterday and was in great form by the evening, and went to nursery today - where she was very happy. another bug conquered!

aberdeen and essie not sure about your weight theory aberdeen! I last weighed her about 3 weeks ago and she was 15lb 8 then. C is with Iestyn on the can't be arsed crawling front, never mind pulling up to stand. In fact, she can't even realy be bothered with rolling and happliy sits where you put her until she's fed up, then she screams until you move her - why move yourself when Mummy will do it for you!

right time to ensure the baby hasn't turned into a giant prune while Daddy has been in charge of bathtime!

abdnhiker · 26/03/2009 20:01

viva and essie guess my weight theory is rubbish then. paro my DS1 was delayed verbally - I think they can only do one thing at once. Fleur sounds very advanced verbally! viva glad C's healthy!

poppy glad the nanny seems to be fitting in well!

DebInAustria · 26/03/2009 20:53

Paro - love the drumming but Fleur's giggling at Daddy is hilarious, so infectious. She's gorgeous.

Poppy - I have visions of Edie hearing Nanny closing the door and relaxing thinking "oh good I can chill out now and watch TV" lol

Whinegums - maybe B's ears are bothering him and that's why the blender had that effect

Amber - sorry about your bad day at work, have you got a glass of wine to hand?

Viva - glad C's better

Don't know what's up with Ethan, today he's eaten fine but other than that he's screamed or slept, 1.5 hours this morning and 2.5 hours this afternoon - which is unheard of. He went down tonight at about 8.30 ,don't know what sort of night we'll have.

DebInAustria · 26/03/2009 20:55

Ali - yes we have a Stat counter and Nigel tracks where people come from and how they find us, wouldn't it be great if then we could contact them and ask why they don't want to book?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/03/2009 21:00

DEB have you researched other holiday companies that do self catering holidays, they will market and do all the bookings for you but will take a percentage.

AliandHerScallywag · 27/03/2009 09:45

Am I really the first to post this morning, or is MN broken?

Thanks for the nice words about my wrist. TBH I can't see it improving whilst Peter needs to be picked up and carried so much which could be for a long while yet.

Neenz I doubt that I will go back to work, but in the current economic climate resigning from a secure(ish) well paid job seems a little foolhardy

Deb you could always put a little survey up on the site when they leave finding out why they haven't booked. There is probably free survey software available to download too.

Rolf enjoy the shopping in Costco.

Viva pleased that C is on the mend.

another good night here - 7 till 5.45 with some grumbling when our curry was delivered and again at 5am. Why do I still feel so tired though?

AliandHerScallywag · 27/03/2009 10:17

A few new pictures on the blog if anyone wants to see a very messy baby

systemsaddict · 27/03/2009 10:20

C up at 11, 1 and 5. L up at 3 with a full nappy and sore bottom - up with him for about half an hour or more.

zzzzzzzzzzz

AliandHerScallywag · 27/03/2009 10:32

systemsaddict · 27/03/2009 12:12

Essie and 5, this is for you:

extreme shepherding

now if we could just achieve the same with children ...

spongebrainbigpants · 27/03/2009 12:39

Ali, I can't see the pics on your blog .

SA, looooove the video!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 27/03/2009 12:53

Hope you all had a good night. I went out to watch the girls ballet show and lafet DS with DP so he clung on to me all night long which is what I had expected!

The ballet show was lovely, DD1 was so very happy and had a huge grin all through out her bit. DD2 was concentrating very hard so had a serious face on - it took me a while to spot her as so many looked similar!

DD1's scan showed that everything is structually working well which is great news.

I just making our dining reserations for our Disney holiday next month which added an element of excitiment to the day.

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 27/03/2009 12:54

Ali I can't see your pictures either!

The tirdness lasts for years, you will have good days but overall you will feel tired for a long time - my experience anyway!

spongebrainbigpants · 27/03/2009 13:15

going, the ballet sounds lovely and that's great news about your DD's scan .

abdnhiker · 27/03/2009 13:32

systems hugs! hope you're coping okay today. I was a wreck on Wednesday and I'm so glad it's the weekend tomorrow.

going very pleased to hear your DD's scan went well.

ali I did feel wayyy less tired when DS1 was about 11 months - 15 months old. Then I got pregnant again... And I know what you mean about resigning from a 'safe' job during a recession. Sometimes I think that's the only reason I'm going back to mine and not looking for a more interesting research position (which would be contract).

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/03/2009 14:24

Going - ballet sounds great

SA - what a fantastic video

systemsaddict · 27/03/2009 15:00

Thanks abdn, am managing OK, only work Friday mornings and both children are Asleep At The Same Time which helps a lot! I got my counselling appt through for next week too and that helps so much, I keep having virtual sessions in my head, if it carries on like this I won't actually need to see her . Have been thinking of you too, hope you are feeling better now.

I agree, the tiredness eased for me dramatically at just before Liam was a year old (hence getting pg again ). I have read Nigella Lawson saying she never got over the tiredness of having small children, hers are now teens but then she had so much other stuff to cope with while they were little.

abdnhiker · 27/03/2009 15:19

oh yes, I'm much less ambitious than Nigella Lawson. If the boys are happy, I'm taking a rest not conquering the world by storm! (As for work, that's why I pay for childcare - I cannot do both at the same time).

systemsaddict · 27/03/2009 15:45

oh gosh me either, I mean they were in nursery this morning while I was in the office, then the fact they often sleep when we all come home Friday afternoon is a bonus! I tried to work 1/2 a day a week from home (of my 70%) before Caitlin was born but it never worked, so this time round they are in childcare for my full 70% and anything I get done at home is a bonus!

Essie3 · 27/03/2009 15:50

systems loved the video - and 5 I think Wales claims that one... did you see the lovely list of Welsh surnames with (shock!) no duplicates in the credits? Clearly south Walian, though, because no Roberts or Hughes.

Essie3 · 27/03/2009 15:51

deb you've made it big - you're named in the mumsnet talk roundup!

Sorry computer being silly will wait for it to settle down.

Amberc · 27/03/2009 19:35

Paro - that laughing video - oh my god - so sweet!!!

Amberc · 27/03/2009 19:38

Ali - I can't see your piccies just an x

Amberc · 27/03/2009 19:46

SO other than Ali and Paro sorry in advance for not individually responding - I can hardly type but....I think we have cracked the sleeping. Three nights in a row now Luke has gone 7 till at least 5.30. Thank god. Me unfortunately am still waking at 3.30 as I have got so used to it. Systems. AFter one night of proper controlled crying for 2 hours at 3.30am and the night before doing it for 1.5 hours at 1.30 or so, I feed him a massive bowl of banana porridge and some Philly on bread as I didn't think from looking back on his nursery notes that he ate much of his supper. Every day I looked at said ate some or ate little. He munched through a load of porridge and the bread. Then I put 2.5 ml of baby ibuprofen in his milk and gave him one of those infant powders Ashtons and something or other ehich are meant to calm fretful babies. Anyway - done it three nights and got threee full nights of sleep so something's worked. Recommend those powder thingies. Off to bed and thanks all for the bad day concern. Was mostly bad 'cos i was so tired. xxx

Amberc · 27/03/2009 19:48

I mean I fed him at 6pm not in the middle of the night!!
