Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 14:00

Beantin He's asleep now, I'm just deciding what I should do........

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 14:03

I am so tired, but Luke's 4 hours are up at 3pm for his feeeding, so he normally gets a bit restless 20/30mins before hand, plus there is crap all over my flat, maybe I should just lay down, but then I'll cry when I have to get up to feed Luke, so maybe I should do some tidying

Beantin · 01/04/2009 14:12

SMS hugs
That's how I was feeling yesterday - and I only have the one to deal with.

Have a lie down, other stuff can wait. Just hold out on the crying.....got chocolate in the house? Always helps me...

You should never watch JK though if that stands for Jeremy Kyle!! Shame on you....

Am jealous of your 4 hrs nap for Luke. Out of Luc's usual 2 hrs he's only managed one and want to get him up for 230 to fit in another feed.

Have finally got a docs appt at 520 this afternoon - place your bets on how long will be kept waiting and how much crying Luc'll do in the waiting room before I get home again....

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 14:22

Beantin Yes I am watching Jeremy Kyle I lve it so does my 20month old .
It's not 4 hour sleping for Luke, it's 4 hourly feeding. I'm ff and doing it to routine instead of demand, so he was fed at 11am and is now due at 3pm but will get a bit fidgetty in about 10/15mins for it, but I'll hold out. Have decided to do some mild cleaning and tidying, I have a friend coming over tomorrow and atm, there are chocolate milk stains all over my wood floors and formula milk stains on my leather sofas oh, and choccy handprints on my balcony doors because I gave ds1 a bourbon this morning so I could eat the rest of the pack in peace , but as you can see, I'm slightly distracted by laptop and MN..... But I have just 'mopped' my living room floor with a baby wipe

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 14:47

I've just uploaded some new photo's to my profile page. In between the polishing of course.....
Luke's getting ready for food, he's in his chair reminding me why his nn's Jerky

Beantin · 01/04/2009 15:01

Hhmmmm....your Luke's def much bigger than my Luc....looks a lot older than my scrawny one....

goes in search of scales

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 15:04

Just looked at yours, beantin, he is very cute. My Luke favours that side of his head too.

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 15:10

Question Baby had jabs yesterday, can he have his bath tonight or do I have to keep area dry for a few days?

dinkystinky · 01/04/2009 15:12

God - the noise out there just gets louder! Unbelievable....

Beantin and MrsY - happy birthdays. Flaky scalp - olive oil and comb the flakes out (danny has cradle cap and have been doing that - the flakes get everywhere though...)

Was meant to take Danny for BCG jab today (they recommend you have it around where I live due to high immigration population and prevalence of TB) but didnt as Danny has a pretty bad cold at the moment - and is being sick after EVERY feed (sometimes within half an hour, other times over an hour and half after the feed) which I think is connected to the cold as pre-cold he was just possetting abit. Last night was pretty horrible with him and with all the noise outside, no chance of sleeping during the day. Ho hum.

Rosie - there is street pay and display parking near to Corams Fields but it is prohibitively expensive. Would definitely go with hotel parking as the cheaper option. There is also the Brunswick Centre near Corams Fields - small mall but has Oasis, Space NK and other shops your girls might like (plus v child friendly restaurants like Carluccios and Giraffe there).

KT, MoS - the place I've booked is through www.toddlerholidays.com.

No suggestions for next thread title? How about "Fab Feb 2009 - too sleep deprived to think up a new thread title..."

OMG. Have I been that wrapped up in myself again that I missed birthdays? Sorry ladies
Happy birthday Mrs~Y and beantin dink new thread title sounds perfect as always.

I am so disorganised and haven't even looked at route and location for the meet-up Am I coming right into the centre of London? Covent Gardens?

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 15:22

Ps dinky didn't they offer the BCG at the hospital when Danny was born? Both mine had theirs the day after they were born.
They also said that all babies are offered the BCG now too, not just babies living in a certain area, which was us with ds1

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 15:23

Right, logging off now. I am.

KT1983 · 01/04/2009 15:25

Thanks for the website Dinky il have a look later when DP gets home. Im from Jersey originaly, so he wants us to go over there - but It wouldnt feel like a holiday for me, so trying to persuade for france

KT1983 · 01/04/2009 15:28

Have any of you seen Sky news? Its a little bit embarrassing. The protests getting a little out of hand.
DP works at Whitehall, he said its all looking like its going to get a bit rowdy!

Beantin · 01/04/2009 15:33

I wasn't BCG as on cusp for GP and HV district split. The Essex side don't offer it, the London side (GP) does due to immigration pop. DH and I both had ours at school, so am hopeful DS won't need it anyway.

SMS osteo reckons he favours that side due to being stuck in delivery. When he has been howling and osteo has stretched muscle behind his ear and moves his head to other side, he magically goes all calm and quiet.

I should update a new pic when get channce. Just weighed us....christ, forgot what was though.....think he came out at about 4.5 with his clothes on...was 4.18 at last weigh in two weeks ago so doesn't sound like much.

Beantin · 01/04/2009 15:37

Dinky - Am sending you some virtual cotton wool by truck load to cover your house with to sound proof it

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 16:08

They change BCG thing all the time. A friend of mine has 3 dd's. The first one didn't get BCG at birth, the 2nd one did, the third one didn't.
I haven't had mine. I was too scared. Wimp.

Beantin INteresting about the head. Ds1 was a forcep baby, and he favoured one side which went flat, then the whole back of his head went flat. Luke was a normal delivery, nointervention or complications at all, but now he's going flat too so I have been trying to lay him onhis other side to sleep but he has a mini fit, so always end up giving in and laying him on flat side. I shouldn't because I worry about the bones affecting the position of his eye and ear on that side.

How Clean Is Your House has just started. I love this program too. Think I'm going to wake ds1 now. Just remembered I haven't changed his nappy since he was dressed at 9am!

KT1983 · 01/04/2009 16:10

Question for you all...How many naps & for how long does your baby have in the day? I put Poppy in her basket as she had just had a full 7oz (fatty!!) and she was looking sleepy, she slept for about 15mins!
she doesnt really sleep much in the day now

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 16:22

[wanders in]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRESY AND BEANTIN!!!!! (sorry i forgot to say it earlier

KT.... aaron varies from day to day. he rarely naps for long during the day, although occasionally he surprises me with a long stretch, normally they vary from 10 mins to an hour. usually 10 mins though and he's quite happy to be awke for hours in between, although feeding always makes him sleepy and he feeds every few mins when he's awake.

did that help? i doubt it....... [wanders back out]

PinkTulips · 01/04/2009 16:23

where'd that E come from?

KT1983 · 01/04/2009 16:29

Thanks PT,I wasnt sure if her short naps were the norm, or if people put their lo's down for a long stretch. I dont have much of a routine going in the daytime, just 3 hourly feeds.
Poppy is also quite happy to stay awake just gurgling away, so I guess I dont really need to stress about it.

nkweto · 01/04/2009 16:58

Happy Birthday Beantin and Mrsy !

Please come to the meet up Mrsy .. we can pool cake and tea rations...

SMS the practice nurse said we could give baths as normal after the injections and DD had a plain water bath last night and all seemed fine..

I cant do this one hand type malarky.. so hope every one is well

SomeMightSay · 01/04/2009 17:12

KT I think the longer naps during the day tend to come in once they hit the weaning stage, then you might find Poppy has set meal times and set nap times. Atm everything is likely to change the minute you think you've got it mastered. They do it on purpose, we start to think 'this isn't so hard' ten they decide it's time to feed less/more more often/less often to be awake alot of the time, so we end up changing any routines every few weeks. I definitely found that everything really did settle into a nice pattern when ds1 went onto solids. They are all different though (snore).
I think it's quite impossible to say what's 'normal', but with ds1, I think he was about 3 months before I encouraged him to have a proper nap after each bottle.

dinkystinky · 01/04/2009 17:39
