PinkTulips · 31/03/2009 11:57

aaron just laughed

unfortunately he did so while i was desperately trying to stop ds1 from destroying the community welfare officers office in a fit of demon hypperactivity. ds1 was flinging himself around laughing manically and suddenly aaron started to laugh too... which made me laugh.... all the whilre grumpy sod is sitting behind his desk glaring at me

MrsY · 31/03/2009 12:30

SMS - yes, the nutramigen (hypo-allergenic stuff) is different from both lactose free and soy milk formula. Supposed to be much better for the very littlies. Hope all is well at the gp's for jabs, but please don't buy any specs until you've looked at glasses direct. Prices start at a tenner, and are really good - lots of styles to choose from, they're quick and good quality. I love them - can you tell?

MOS - glad you enjoyed yourself, hope you managed some kip - and you, Beantin. Spotty - am v of your holiday. Think we're trying something similar, but at my bro's chalet in Devon. It's lush, but perhaps not as much as France!

Madam's had a day of sleeping so far today - maybe a growth spurt thing, but I hope it doesn't mean she's awake tonight...

Beantin · 31/03/2009 12:35

....eating biscuits on the sofa....still in my jim jams......

if you could all stop having such productive days, you wouldn't make me look so bad

elkiedee · 31/03/2009 13:03

Beantin, I only got dressed at 11 or so this morning, and although we're going out it's only to the local baby group round the corner.

rosieposey · 31/03/2009 13:23

Good lord all these posts since yesterday!

Beantin of course you can have my choccy rations - hands them over No more Appletise for me either Thats shite as ive been addicted to the stuff for 5 years now.

MOS had a similar night to you last night but courtesy of wine not Bacardi Breezers - it wasnt much fun getting up at 4 though as have slightly thick head today - also Milo wasnt impressed at being made to sleep in his basinette last night so suffice to say will be getting a very early one tonight

Aww PT at Aaron laughing - thats the most gorgeous sound in the whole world. Milo has only really started smiling at for about 10 days and even then they are random once or twice a day. Its lovely when babies giggle i cant wait for that.

Dinky hope its not too noisy for you - what a pain though, its always when the bloody weather starts to improve!

rosieposey · 31/03/2009 13:24

Er Beantin and Elkiedee im not dressed yet! Am off out soon so better jump in the shower as his lordship has only just deighned to go to sleep.

Beantin · 31/03/2009 13:40

Am now showered....wearing a sweatshirt of DH's that DS kindly sicked on some days ago and no makeup and hair still tied up from the shower. But, am showered Have also managed lunch.

Crappy weather here today so no enthusiasm for leaving the house but should do as only made it across the road to the shop yesterday whilst my mum was here so DS hasn't left the house since Sunday....

Wish had somewhere to go....

I did get a smile from DS this morning - and not a windy one - get those several times a day!

Can't imagine him laughing - will be amazing.

Right, gonna lie on sofa for a rest until DS wakes up again. Gar......got my toes crossed for decent sleep this evening - am jealous of you guys who are feeling rough through hangovers. I feel like I had more than my fair share of something toxic - but just sleep deprivation.

Beantin · 31/03/2009 13:41

PT - you sound like you feel some responsibility. Please don't as I am sure that you are not at all. Hugs

KT1983 · 31/03/2009 15:52

Back from my day out, had a lovely run in the bright sunshine, felt really good. Now im slumped on the sofa with the sky remote & intend to remain here until dinner time - If only Poppy would go to sleep for a hour so I could catch up!

PT - Hope Aaron laughing & smiling has made you feel a little bit brighter today, I cant wait for Poppy to giggle, were getting lots of smiles now, its so lovely. xx

MarkStretch · 31/03/2009 16:28

BEANTIN! I get it now, tin of beans...

PT- sorry to hear about your friend but how lovely that Aaron is laughing. Frankie has been smiling for a while now with his mouth wide open, I am waiting for him to giggle...

I went to see my friend yesterday who had a baby girl on the 25th. She is so cute and diddy. Friend was all set for a home birth and laboured for ages at home in the pool but got transferred to hospital at the last minute as she had been pushing for 2 hrs to no avail. Baby was born about half an hr after they arrived at hospital.

While she was labouring at home, her Dad was in the kitchen making cups of tea and lunch for the midwives. He asked one of the midwives how friend was doing and the midwife replied 'I'm sorry, I can't tell you, it's patient confidentiality'.

Farking ridiculous.

MarkStretch · 31/03/2009 16:32

KT- I would love to be able to run, I am so envious of people who can run, but I'm afraid I am far too fat and I fear my huge belly and massive tits might meet in the middle with an almighty clap and break the sound barrier.

I am walking dd to school and back every day though, a total of 4.8 miles.

And I am very of you lot still not dressed! Because I have the school run to do I am up and dressed by 7.30am and out of the house by 8am every day!

nkweto · 31/03/2009 17:52

Markstretch wow you are the real adult amongst us !! we made it to a 10am appt for DD's first vaccinations and to the park to meet one of DS's friends from the nursery and were home for lunch. That was a big day out for us we have been taking it easy since then.

I am on red alert to see if DD needs calpol but she seems fine so far

(((PT))) nothing useful to say, but some extra hugs for you..

hope you had a good rest Beantin and wish I could do some exercise KT my tummy still looks a bit 'pregnant'. I don't remember that the first time round !

pluto · 31/03/2009 17:56

Hello everyone. All good on planet Pluto. Celebrated my 39th birthday yesterday by losing a massive filling. Albert is thriving but funny how every time I try to log on to MN he fiils his nappy! I hope he he isn't insulting us.

I too have to be up and showered to do school run by 8.20am. We do the walking bus so I'm getting plenty of exercise and post CS walking or swimming are probably my limit.

nkweto · 31/03/2009 18:00

Pluto happy belated birthday.. as I was typing I thought we must have a few more mama's doing the school run as well... I do not envy you at all. One of my biggest fears about going back to work is getting the whole household up and ready so early in the morning !

PinkTulips · 31/03/2009 18:03

i didn't get out of bed til 8.30 tis am..... still made it to playschool though

nkweto · 31/03/2009 18:06

PT 8.30 is still bright and early for us .. with the caveat that we will have already been up at 6 for a feed for DD and a drink for DS and then fallen asleep again..deary me..

Beantin · 31/03/2009 18:20

Markstretch - ermmm....we always called DS the Bean inutero, so DH nicknamed me Beantin....not sure if that's the conclusion you came to too....

Pluto - Happy Birthday. Tis mine tomorrow - arians rule

Had a wee nap this afternoon, but just as was getting into a deep sleep my friend called. She gave me lots of sympathy though as has a DS almost a year old. Was almost as good as a nap.

An early birthday pressie was an eye mask for sleeping to replace my free BA one. Tis brilliant and has helped a lot today to keep the light out.

Right, DS just finished feeding, so fingers crossed on the nappy colour.....always a good conversation at dinner time......

MarkStretch · 31/03/2009 19:18

DD just called from the bathroom, 'Mummy! I just did a poo in the shape of a teddy bear skipping in the sun!'

Dear lord.

mumoverseas · 31/03/2009 19:34

MS, it seems your DD is as crazy as you . I've missed you on here the last few days as your posts always make me giggle.
BTW, has your DD ever seen a teddy bear skipping in the sun?????

Pluto belated birthday wishes and Beantin, premature birthday wishes as I may not be on tomorrow as will be rushing around like a blue arsed fly

where has everyone else gone? Seems that lots of ladies have abandoned us over recent weeks. Hope they are just lurking and are ok

SomeMightSay · 31/03/2009 20:23

MrsY Thanks for confirmation on the formula. I will go bck to the gp's.
I completely forgot about that website you told me about at the last meet up!!!!! I bought 2 pairs designer for £125, they will be ready to collect on tuesday.
Why did the gp I saw yesterday tell me soya was the only one? Did M see a paed to get her new formula or was it just through gp? I am really pissed off with them now. It's just non-stop crap from them. I am the unluckiest person on the planet, shit follows me around 24/7, nothing ever smooth and simple.......
MS That story about your friend and her dad is so ridiculous it's bloody hillarious!
So, on one of my many trips back to the labour ward after Luke was born, when I saw a mw come to the waiting area to tell family members that so and so was fine, they were breaking the rules were they? Crazy stuff
nkweto Luke had his jabs today too, he didn't seem to even notice the first one. He cried with the second one, but not as much as when he burps! I haven't given him any calpol at all. I would normally give a dose pre-jab but didn't have any, and he seemed fine afterwards. We were out all day and he has been asleep the whole time. His legs are slightly swollen, a bit more than I remember ds1's being, but he is feeding fine, doesn't have a temp so will see how that goes...
MS You're dd's comment about teddy bears skipping in the sun wuld have been so cute if it wasn't about poo! ok, you got me, it still is quite cute. I wonder at what age you stop being able to get away with stuff like that? Shall we test it? Lets all call that out to OH's next time we're on the loo, see what they say.

DS1 is not settling to bed the 2nd night in a row, right PITA because it means we can't have dinner, and there's nothing wrong with him, he is just a PITA. Dp's in there now, but ds sounds wide awake, dp's been in there for nearly an hour. Ds does settle far better on his own, I think now I will have to go back to CC, but am starting to hate it and feel awful doing it. Crazy because I didn't have a problem doing it at 4 months (I know you're supposed to wait until 6, but I was going mental!)

The 2 options I think I have is 1) do CC for next few nights (if that) or 2) spend however many nights laying on his bedroom floor until he falls asleep. What to do......
Better go and relieve dp now

dinkystinky · 31/03/2009 20:46

Evening all. Have been out most of today to escape the bloody noise outside - cant believe its going to go on for another 4 weeks!!! Went to a friend's this morning (lovely amble over there and back with Danny catnapping in the buggy - she has a little boy DS1's age and one year old who is lovely but HUGE - cant believe Danny will ever get that big) and a neighbour further down the road this afternoon (who was further away from the drilling - she has a 5 month old who is also huge and a nearly two year old) who was filling me in on the local mum and baby things to do (always handy to know as only moved here last year). Tomorrow's plan is to go get Danny's TB jab in the morning and amble around the shops for hours and then visit the park with DS1 in the afternoon I think...

Beantin - sorry you had a shocker of a night (Danny was v unsettled too - think it must be something in the air!); glad you caught up on your sleep today though.

Spotty - your month in France sounds lovely! We're off to France for a week in May (to a place specifically set up for holidaying with babies and toddlers complete with a playbarn to entertain DS1 - we've been there every year since he turned one and love it - loads of beaches, little market towns and fun things to do around there). We've loved it every time we've gone - I cant wait.

Rosie and MoS - hope you've recovered from your hangovers! And that your little ones have given you lots of quiet time today to recuperate

Markstretch - your post about your daughter and her poo made me chuckle out loud...Am impressed at the morning school runs you and Pluto do (I'd be doing them in my pjs I think - and I only live around the corner from the school we're hoping to send DS1 to).

Pink - wow at Aaron chuckling. I love baby chuckles. Danny has been smiling for around a week now (really shy little smiles that make me go all gooey) - cant wait to hear him laugh (he chuckles in his sleep but that doesnt really count).

Am sure lots of people are lurking but just too busy with their little ones at the moment - probably just as well as we're about to run out of space on the thread again. Throwing the floor open for new thread title names....

thehouseofmirth · 31/03/2009 21:44

Have you lot seen this?

Just made it & had some with custard. Yum.

MrsY · 31/03/2009 22:38

SMS You crazy woman - £125? The soy stuff was prescribed by the on-call gp, and then my HV made the regular GP prescribe the nutramigen - apparently they don't like to as it's a bit pricey, but it is prescription only, and now she's on it, she'll stay on it till about 5 months, then maybe try her on normal stuff...

Beantin - My sister gave me a Molton Brown travel set for my birthday on Sunday and it had an eye mask in. Used it to nap at my mum's after my massive pork lunch, and it was a-maz-ing! I also got a post-baby Clarins spa treatment, vouchers for Monsoon and Dotty P, make-up and John bought me a mani-pedi at Molton Brown spa at Bluewater - think people are telling me I've let myself go?!!!

MS - L does make me laugh! Can I borrow her?

Quick question - are any of your lo's going to be baptised? If so, what sort of age will you do it? I was thinking about 4 months (which will put us in June) but a friend recommended leaving it later so M is more relaxed with the water?

Also, not sure I'm gonna make it on Tuesday - John has to work which means taking M on the tube by myself, and the train fare will take up my week's spending money - wouldn't mind, but it won't leave me any change for cake rations!

SomeMightSay · 31/03/2009 22:45

MrsY Please try to come on tuesday. I'm bringing Jacob and Luke on the train, I've been on the train with both of them a couple of times now, and as long as you can plan the journey stairs free it's fine. Or tbf, even if there are stairs, with just the one baby, you can carry M and a member of train staff can take pram for you.
I'm sure there will be a few extra £ floating around for a cuppa and a cake, but fully nderstand not wanting to use a weeks money. I'm only going because dp gets paid this friday

PinkTulips · 31/03/2009 23:29

mrsy.... dd was christened at 17 months, we still haven't gotton around to doing ds1 who's 2.9 and can't even think of one godparent ever mind 2 for aaron so lord only knows how long he'll have to wait

realistically we'll try and do ds1 and aaron together over the summer but it'll be hell. we accidentally asked dp's crazy bitch of a sister (and that's the polite way of describing her i swear to god) and really don't want her to do it anymore but his mom will go spare if we tell her we've changed our minds... so we've got her and our friend who we used to live with but who's 30 years old and still lives with his sister and has no job..... great christian role models there then dp's dad's an alcoholic and his mom is a lovely but incredibly daft woman, cobine that with my rude cow of a mother and my arrogant father and liberal quantities of booze and it could be a disaster.

not to mention the complete and utter lack of godparents for aaron... anti social freaks that we are we don't have many friends between us and the only couple we'd want to ask have ranted so much about their views on religion and that they're not getting their little boy done that i don't feel right asking them... they'd say yes out of politeness but i'd feel guilty for asking them.

whoops, sorry, can you tell i obsess about this issue a wee bit

MS and at you dd...... how on earth did you respond to that gem?!

dinky, those roadworks sound like they're going to drive you mad... hopefully the weather will cheer up so you can take the boys to the park and chill out rather than running around all day trying to keep out of the house. know what you mean about giant babies.... there are 2 10 month olds at toddler group and they seem so huge compared to aaron!
